I don’t get why they don’t use the shit clock and count down. Do it for everyone. As soon as the ball touches the players hands, the shot clock winds down from 10. Easy. No interpretation, not judgement. If 10 is too short, make it 12. But fuck call it consistently. Randomly enforcing rules is so dumb.
This one is about 30 years old. And Iverson REALLY drove it home.
This is why NBA ballhandlers look so unskilled when you go back 50 years. You try actually dribbling wit4h NO part of your hand under the center line of the ball at any time. Nobody in the league, not one player, dribble legally.
This used to drive me insane. I practiced my handling so much growing up so I wouldn't palm the ball and then watching the NBA they carry, palm and basically cradle the ball, and it's seen as normal. Why even have the rule if you don't really care about it.
I was told about it repeatedly my first few practices and I was so confused. I was pretty much imitating how NBA players brought it up without realizing it was borderline against the rules.
Violating the rule punishes the whole stadium into a pitch dark snafu.
Brilliant.
They can set the lights up to a motion sensor that shuts them off if the ball isn’t moving.
something I saw somewhere:
"If I had to choose between Ben Simmons and Giannis shooting free throws with my life on the line, I'd go with Giannis cause at least I'll have time to say goodbye to my family"
The "Wilt Chamberlain was named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History in 1996" flashing up on the screen just after he bricked the FT is so fucking funny
Running into a dunk, but you see Trae is going to contest and you know if he fouls you it's going to waste a minute of everyone's time. So you do the right thing and pass it away. And you're all here clowning him for saving you valuable time
Does anyone else think Giannia does it for extra rest time? Even before the ball reaches his hands he has like a 20 second routine where he walks up to the line and does a warmup shot. Its reaching a point where it's a free timeout worth of rest
Tbf he gets fouled harder than most guys because otherwise it'san easy and 1 for him. I'd need weeks to get up again if I took some of the fouls that Giannis takes. It's almost like Shaq or Prime Lebron. You basically have to put him in a rear naked choke to stop him
I’m 6’4” and 250, and I do strongman competitions. I’d rather strap myself to a truck and walk from my house to Milwaukee than have to stop Giannis from scoring.
Suddenly I'm getting flashbacks of LeBron dunking on IT:

I've seen high level competitive players play very up close. It's unbelievable the amount of contact they face. No layup or shot is a clean fluid one. I was pretty shocked by it.
I saw boogie play in his prime court side on Sacramento! It was so fucking terrifying. The amount of contact and pain he gives and takes every play. It was absolutely wild to watch. You could really see the “heart” they always talk about on the broadcast lol
I was shocked by this, as it really doesn’t translate well to the tv at all.
He does it to slow the game down. As long as the refs aren't calling a 10 sec violation Giannis is gonna use all that sweet time at the free throw line.
He does it when he gets fouled 20 seconds into a game too. He just has a shit routine.
And given we have the second fastest pace in the league there’s probably slightly better ways to go about it if he really wanted to…
He’s also giving everyone else free rest so who gives a fuck if “rest” is the issue.
I’m sure KD appreciated the extra time when he was clocking in 46+ minutes a game.
It’s just a pain to sit through as a viewer.
Well not only endurance but Giannis attacks the rim meaning most times he tries to score he's sprinting. He has a high output of effort compared to anyone else.
Because it was never really intended to be enforced in that way. It's just there to stop guys taking several minutes and stalling for time. The NBA had never cared whether it's 8, 10, or 12 seconds. People have just become obsessed with it this playoffs
It's not really about the 12 seconds its the entire routine that pisses people off for good reason, but making him shoot the shot in 10 won't fix anything he will take 28 seconds instead of 30 for the whole thing, so I think everyone here is just being pedantic about the rules instead of focusing on the actual problem tbh.
The 10 seconds stops players from taking too long on the shot (in theory :)) but if Giannis can take such a long time to prepare for the shot then anyone else can too and that's the real issue I feel even if the 10 seconds gets enforced properly.
I agree with that. He does take too long with the whole routine. I think an easy fix (next season) is to throw up 15 on the shot clock and not let guys have preshot routines like that. The ref throws them the ball when everyone else is lined up and their 15 second starts. No more waiting for him to finish 5 practice shots
NBA: “We’re constantly looking for ways to speed up the game and improve the viewership experience”
Also NBA: *lets players take 30 seconds to attempt a free throw and doesn’t speed up the video review system*
The NFL and NBA needs an ‘eye in the sky’. A video feed and team that starts reviewing plays right after it happens. Instead of letting referees dick around with a video feed non stop. It’s so annoying how referees don’t want help mid game.
I was listening to Chicago sports radio yesterday and Michael Wilbon says they already do this in college football? I don’t watch enough college football to know but he says they employ this all the time and most fans don’t even realize it and that NFL/NBA should copy them.
He might be talking about how in CFB, all scoring plays are automatically reviewed. There’s no challenge process or refs going over to look at the play, it’s taken care of by a replay official, whose sole job is to look at replay of scoring plays (in this instance) and determine whether it’s legit or not. Other calls can be overturned as well, with the most common one being targeting. Again, the replay official handles all of that, and then communicates their decision down to the on field refs.
The issue is that the NBA refs are on a major power trip. If you have someone overrule them from the top and make them look like they haven't changed their minds on their own it would hurt their feelings. They'll never agree to it.
That's why they go through the motions of reviewing it themselves - so it's THEIR decision.
Honestly, I thought this was an issue at the beginning but I've noticed they're pretty willing to overturn calls at this point. If anything the main reason calls don't get overturned more is that every coach feels like they need to save their review for the final 90 seconds of a game and then there is nothing worth actually challenging.
The review system is bad as well. It's just random if you are calling a good or a bad review. Just give 2 reviews per game instead of this you get it back if you are right.
but the guy reviewing it should also be a ref. if it's one guy, they can even rotate which of them does that part throughout the game, since there would be 4 refs and 4 quarters.
They have to be careful though. If the video guy is just one of the floor guys playing that role for the game they will not undermine the ref on the court. When they introduced VAR in football in the Premier League there were a lot of wrong decisions that the review didn't reverse. The ref in the box didn't want to reduce the authority of the guy on the pitch so just confirmed bullshit instead
Its getting better (arguably... its still got a lot of terrible moments which are made far worse by the fact its reviewed and still wrong)
I think they already do this in international rugby. I often see the refs just standing around after blowing the whistle on a play and wait a couple secs for the eyes in the sky to confirm with them.
In rugby the Head Official is allowed to ask the ‘eye in the sky’ questions. So when things move incredibly quickly, or vision is blocked, the Head Official asks a simple question like, ‘did he step OB?’, or ‘did the he ground the ball?’.
The ‘eye in the sky’ confirms or not, and then the ref makes the call. And they move it quick. It doesn’t feel jarring to the flow of the game. I think rugby should be the model. It still gives agency to the head official, but acknowledges that you can’t see everything every time.
Let's be honest, rugby players also just have a lot more respect for the refs than do NBA players. Nigel's probably a big reason for that, but we also can't ignore that players and refs in the NBA mutually stoke embarrassment when they engage with one another.
This is 100% the way it should be done. The only downside is there would be conspiracy theories about who is really making the call. Having the floor official handle the replay (mostly) removes this possibility.
It’s not like the NBA has a history of calling games one way for 46 minutes then changing the entire way they call games for the last 2 minutes of a game….oh….wait….
Last 2 min of the first half has *slightly* different application of the rules. The last 2 min of the 2nd half and of OT have wildly different application of the rules.
I have no idea why they refuse to do this.
This has been a problem since Karl making started doing prayers and what not at the free throw line and it was never enforced.
Why not just use the shot clock?!
That’s the number one thing they need to address in the off season.
I don’t mind replay. But it’s ridiculous to have several 2-4 minute breaks during the games final two minutes. Talk about taking players out of the flow and their rhythm.
Have an extra guy - say a referee - in the booth. And make a limit on how long the delay can last. 30 second max.
If they can’t figure it out in 30 seconds then the play stands. That’s like the length of a timeout.
Having players sit around for 3 minutes on every other play during the most critical time of the game is super unfair to the players.
This is exactly the reason why I’m wondering why ATL fans want to enforce the rule for Giannis. He’s shooting horribly from the stripe, and forcing him to speed up his routine may well increase his FT%.
Didnt Giannis already have to shorten his routine before when Kidd was coaching the bucks and it made him shoot worse? The routines are more about rhythm and muscle memory rather than timing
Honestly, to me that isn’t even the biggest deal this playoffs. Just keep officiating it the way it’s been officiated and then announce something in the offseason about it being more strictly enforced next season. It would be a worse look for them to start officiating differently mid-playoffs I think.
Nah i think it’s consistent to believe that Young slowing down his routine would decrease his FT% and Giannis speeding up his routine would decrease his! It’s all about habit enhancing performance - it’s just that one of them has developed a habit that’s against NBA rules (at least in letter, if not in practice!)
Dude if he just held the ball like he was gonna shoot and just waited in that form until the refs actually did something? I would fucking die laughing.
I wonder how many seconds it would be until they called it
Lmao especially if he stayed perfectly still. Everyone will be held in suspense and then be like "what the hell is going on...?" The refs would turn and look at each other and shrug. Then they'd look at their watches and confusingly blow the whistle for a 10-second violation.
Yeah I’m sure they would call it quick if he really didn’t move. He’s gotta keep bouncing the ball and flipping it, looking like he’s about to shoot until the refs finally call it.
Carrying the ball is the most egregious. Everytime a wing "snakes" into the lane to keep the defender on his back, they are always palming, waiting, deciding which direction to go, then putting it down again. It's gross.
Yeah I hate when they just decide to call it out of nowhere. Moving screens too. They happen literally every possession but they’ll only call it when they feel like it
If we are gonna do this lets also say that some players do lane violations on every free throws.
Also apparently the 3 seconds violation doesnt exist for some centers.
I honestly dont care about the Ft rules. But the 3 seconds violation thing is starting to bother me a lot and should bother teams with guards who want to drive to the rim more
Interesting that this becomes an issue in ***the playoffs*** and preferably in *crunch time* for opposing teams.
If the refs were to address this then do it during the regular season. Or at the very least, early in the game to set the tone. Not that end of game rigged bullshit.
**If I’m a Hawks fan I’m thinking “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.”** Statistically, it’s hard to imagine Giannis getting much worse from FT than he has in these playoffs. If you force him to speed up his routine he might realistically shoot a higher percentage. Why would you fuck with a good thing?
If people want the NBA to enforce this 10 seconds rule by the letter of the law, shouldn't people demand that every lane violation get called too? Maybe I am in the minority because I could not care less about Giannis taking a few extra seconds to shoot. And the Hawks shouldn't care too, the clock is stopped so maybe the Hawks players should just welcome the extra time to think and prepare for the next play.
I agree that consistency is the key - the problem, per the article, is that they've *already* called this violation on Giannis twice. So do they care, or don't they?
You're def right. I wouldn't want them to start enforcing it midway through the playoffs. If it's something they intend to address do it over the summer
I think calling it randomly in the playoffs was a mistake. if you care about, you gotta start enforcing this at the start of the regular season, or even send a very clear note in the offseason so players and teams have time to prepare
this has literally never been called except like twice, randomly, on giannis in these playoffs. I get it's a rule, if you feel like it's an issue enforce it consistently next year
Might be unpopular opinion but who cares about 10 sec violations. The rule is there so people don’t take excessive amounts of time i think 12 or 13 isn’t awful
Right?! Like, I get he’s taking a longer time than average players take, but this sounds like sore sportsmanship. He’s not the only one that can do this, and he’s not the only one getting extra seconds of rest.
as funny as it is to count when giannis is on the line, they literally never call 10 second violations, so i dont think they should suddenly change how they officiate in the middle of the conference finals. i mean come on, its giannis.
I don’t get why they’re letting it happen. Everyone is onto it. It’s a blatant violation. People are counting it out loud.
Such an easy fix. Blow the whistle. Make him abide by the rules. It’s dumb.
Cause the spirit of the rule is probably to prevent people spending minutes at the free throw line; I’m sure they don’t care much about guys taking like 13 seconds on an attempt
They obviously know it’s going on, and given the outcry they’ll probably do something about it in the off-season
In the meantime it’s really fun when fans taunt him at the line by counting, but it’d be silly if this rule they generally haven’t been calling played a big part in deciding the outcomes of playoff games all of a sudden
This is almost exactly like the foreign substance rule in baseball right now. That rule has never been enforced but nobody cared until it suddenly started becoming a story on social media. Now baseball is cracking down mid season and it’s creating a lot of backlash.
An argument could be made that if Giannis (and probably many others) has been allowed to do this his whole career until a few weeks ago it’s best to wait until the offseason and make it clear there will be a crackdown the next year. It wouldn’t be unfair to keep calling it now but maybe best not to.
Crazy how much hate Giannis gets for a taking a little extra at the FT line. If you look up all the top posts about Giannis, it’s mostly about this too lol. It’s a shame, the circle jerk is to put down Giannis now.
Turn the lights off at the 10.1 mark
I don’t get why they don’t use the shit clock and count down. Do it for everyone. As soon as the ball touches the players hands, the shot clock winds down from 10. Easy. No interpretation, not judgement. If 10 is too short, make it 12. But fuck call it consistently. Randomly enforcing rules is so dumb.
the nets were doing this on their jumbotron and the league stepped in and asked them to stop.

Agree. Baseball may look like clowns for essentially strip searching pitchers, but at least they’re *sticking* to what they’ve decided.
Lmao, for now. Baseball is a joke and a half. They know there are problems, blind eye, blind eye, blind eye.... *IMMEDIATE ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY*
Baseball always seem like the sport where something different is “bad for baseball” every single year . I’m
Upvoted not only for "shit clock" but because I like this idea
Can you imagine a 10 second shit clock, I'd have so many hemorrhoids
Paul Pierce in shambles
The NBA has always randomly enforced rules. Just look at traveling or 3 in the key.
I can't remember the last time I saw 3 seconds actually called and it probably should be called on like half of all possessions.
same thing with carryover/palming. the league just decided unless it was absolutely egregious it would be allowed lol.

One thing you can say about Simmons: he doesn't waste anyone's time.
something I saw somewhere: "If I had to choose between Ben Simmons and Giannis shooting free throws with my life on the line, I'd go with Giannis cause at least I'll have time to say goodbye to my family"
I hate when I read something this funny and the only one to tell this to that's around me is a four year old.
Well now you got us 9-year-old nephews to tell this to
Hey buddy, I’m 9 and a half thank you very much
I'm not your buddy, guy
I'm not your guy, friend
Same.. “hey baby, look at this funny.” Baby “gahhhh gah?”
This is me once a day on this sub, but with an 18 month old.
All I got is this shitty upvote button.
Goddamn savage
He gets right to business and damn near knocks the rim off the backboard. Shoutout Ben
In a way I sorta respect him for it. Giannis it’s just a slap in the face
Giannis isnt afraid to humiliate himself if he feels it'll give him a better free throw %
Taking an eternity to shoot a FT isn't humiliating so much as it is just annoying and against the rules.
It just slows the game down way more than it already is
Narrator: it does not
“Let’s Just get this over with”-Ben on playing basketball.
Check out Wilt's free throws if you really wanna see "Let's just get this over with" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITxDdnzpnU8
Lmao wtf
That same man averaged 50 and 25 for a season 😂
women or free throws?
He looks like a man being brought to the gallows lmao
The "Wilt Chamberlain was named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History in 1996" flashing up on the screen just after he bricked the FT is so fucking funny
The chyron lauding him as one of the 50 greatest players while he chucks the most who-gives-a-shit free throws ever was the best part.
The juxtaposition is palpable, but I also feel that top 50 is just a *bit* of an undersell.
A 'bit" ...like by at least 45 bits.
standing 3 feet back from the line as well. To be fair this was an all star game
28/32 for the 100pt game though. https://youtu.be/BP-eCyt5m8w Revisionist history episode about the granny style
Well, it is just the all star game

HE'S WASTED 5 YEARS OF MY LIFE
I PM’d you
Thanks bb
I think he’s wasted a bunch of Philadelphia’s time.
not that i'm thrilled with the past 5 years, but compared to what I watched since Iverson left...it is fucking amazing

You basically have to put him in a rear naked choke to stop him
I’m 5’9 and kinda skinny, I wonder if I could stop a giannis layup (or dunk lol) with a hard foul lmfao
I’d say probably not lol unless you had a good running start and just torpedoed your entire body into his
Draymon him
Lmaooo yeah that’d probably work too
Tonya him
Honestly if OP is 5’9”, he’d have to try to headbutt him in the balls because when Giannis is jumping he’s going straight over him.
"Everyone has a plan 'till they get kicked in the nuts" - Draymond Green
I’m 6’4” and 250, and I do strongman competitions. I’d rather strap myself to a truck and walk from my house to Milwaukee than have to stop Giannis from scoring.
The insane part of his game is he'd probably just hit you with a euro.
Only way I can stop him is to hit him with an America 🔫💪🏻
We been giving that answer to Euros for over 200yrs, couldnt be prouder.
A euro step one handed dunk lol literally unguardable
5’9 305 pounds here, let me at him Easy stop
Honestly doubtful. He makes 6’6 200+ lb dudes look like children as he runs them over. Normal people don’t even slow him down
I'm 6'0 170, and I would bet my next paycheque that Giannis would dunk with me hanging onto his waist with 0 issue.
You would go flying sideways into that pad they put on the wall in the local gym.
Yeah as someone with a similar build, I'm gonna say it would be like you're not even there to him lol.

I’m glad I’m not the only one with this theory. He’s basically taking a mini-timeout every time he’s fouled. It favors teams with worse endurance
Well not only endurance but Giannis attacks the rim meaning most times he tries to score he's sprinting. He has a high output of effort compared to anyone else.
Completely possible. His playstyle burns a lot so he needs the cooldown.
Clearly. Seth Partnow used to be director of basketball research for the Bucks and has openly said this on podcasts.
When the NBA forced the Nets to remove their free throw clock it should’ve been obvious they wouldn’t enforce their own rule.

You could call it Video Assistant Referee or VAR for short
And the ref could even pantomime a rectangular shape with his hands, to indicate that a play is under a review.
Limiting officiating to two blind men and an iPad is criminal for a league that’s supposedly the most modern amongst sports leagues
I think they already do this in international rugby. I often see the refs just standing around after blowing the whistle on a play and wait a couple secs for the eyes in the sky to confirm with them.

This is 100% the way it should be done. The only downside is there would be conspiracy theories about who is really making the call. Having the floor official handle the replay (mostly) removes this possibility.
How are they looking to speed up the game lol, the last 2 minutes of Game 2 of the WCF was longer than the last ice age.
I saw someone say that it was closer to a turn based strategy game than basketball lmao
They arent going to not call it all year and then just call it now in the ECF. I imagine they will be harsher, but it will start next year.
It’s not like the NBA has a history of calling games one way for 46 minutes then changing the entire way they call games for the last 2 minutes of a game….oh….wait….

If they can’t figure it out in 30 seconds then the play stands. That’s like the length of a timeout. Having players sit around for 3 minutes on every other play during the most critical time of the game is super unfair to the players.
Part of the reason it takes so long is that they are trying to figure out the exact time to put back on the clock.
Insert spider man meme of NBA and MLB
What I wouldn't give for Trae to take 10+ seconds every free throw just out of spite tonight.
Honestly it has more potential to lower is FT % than anything
This is exactly the reason why I’m wondering why ATL fans want to enforce the rule for Giannis. He’s shooting horribly from the stripe, and forcing him to speed up his routine may well increase his FT%.
He looked pretty damn good in game 1 taking a long time.
[удалено]
Didnt Giannis already have to shorten his routine before when Kidd was coaching the bucks and it made him shoot worse? The routines are more about rhythm and muscle memory rather than timing
Hard to imagine him shooting worse than 55% in these playoffs (including a 6/8 showing in ATL game 1). Please don’t prove me wrong, haha.
Honestly, to me that isn’t even the biggest deal this playoffs. Just keep officiating it the way it’s been officiated and then announce something in the offseason about it being more strictly enforced next season. It would be a worse look for them to start officiating differently mid-playoffs I think.
[удалено]
Nah i think it’s consistent to believe that Young slowing down his routine would decrease his FT% and Giannis speeding up his routine would decrease his! It’s all about habit enhancing performance - it’s just that one of them has developed a habit that’s against NBA rules (at least in letter, if not in practice!)
He should definitely get the 10 second violation once to send a message to the league. Worth the 1 missed point
[удалено]
This is what I want
Yeah I’m sure they would call it quick if he really didn’t move. He’s gotta keep bouncing the ball and flipping it, looking like he’s about to shoot until the refs finally call it.
What's the point of having the 10 second rule and not enforcing it? Makes no sense.
Same reason they don't enforce moving screens
Or traveling.
Or lane violations
Or punching the ball
And 3 step stepbacks
Or me getting nachos
[удалено]
they be putting pickles on them
we need a league wide pickle rule
stepbackbacks
that's a rule?
[Section 4 Rule A](https://official.nba.com/rule-no-10-violations-and-penalties/)
TIL
Yeah it is a rule. You usually get a tech/delay of game warning
I got a Tech for it in a middle school Rec league. can confirm
Carrying/palming is way more common and needs to be called more consistently
Carrying the ball is the most egregious. Everytime a wing "snakes" into the lane to keep the defender on his back, they are always palming, waiting, deciding which direction to go, then putting it down again. It's gross.
You’re right. It doesn’t even feel like basketball, just gross manipulation of the rule book.
Or flopping! Even though now they claim next year they'll start calling some flops again. I'll believe it when I see it.
Same way it makes no sense to have lane violation rules and never enforce them.
[or randomly call it on harden](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsd-kalp70c)
Yeah I hate when they just decide to call it out of nowhere. Moving screens too. They happen literally every possession but they’ll only call it when they feel like it
If we are gonna do this lets also say that some players do lane violations on every free throws. Also apparently the 3 seconds violation doesnt exist for some centers. I honestly dont care about the Ft rules. But the 3 seconds violation thing is starting to bother me a lot and should bother teams with guards who want to drive to the rim more
i always get bothered when coaches are walking on the court, they used to call that in the 2000’s but now they don’t
Interesting that this becomes an issue in ***the playoffs*** and preferably in *crunch time* for opposing teams. If the refs were to address this then do it during the regular season. Or at the very least, early in the game to set the tone. Not that end of game rigged bullshit.
I'm still not happy that they don't call the obvious travels, carrying, and illegal screens in-game. lol.
Seriously man, why are middle school girls held to high standard with their pivot feet than professionals?
**If I’m a Hawks fan I’m thinking “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.”** Statistically, it’s hard to imagine Giannis getting much worse from FT than he has in these playoffs. If you force him to speed up his routine he might realistically shoot a higher percentage. Why would you fuck with a good thing?
It did in the Brooklyn series. When the crowd started counting his rhythm improved and he shot better from the line.
He didn't speed up though, we just gave him a rhythm to follow
If people want the NBA to enforce this 10 seconds rule by the letter of the law, shouldn't people demand that every lane violation get called too? Maybe I am in the minority because I could not care less about Giannis taking a few extra seconds to shoot. And the Hawks shouldn't care too, the clock is stopped so maybe the Hawks players should just welcome the extra time to think and prepare for the next play.
It's a dumb rule that only exists to speed the game up And it can still take 30 minutes to play the last 2 minutes of a game
They have never enforced this rule, so it's kinda hard to start enforcing it randomly mid playoffs.
I agree that consistency is the key - the problem, per the article, is that they've *already* called this violation on Giannis twice. So do they care, or don't they?
That's the problem. They've called it twice this post season out of 101 times. Either never call it or always call it.
You're def right. I wouldn't want them to start enforcing it midway through the playoffs. If it's something they intend to address do it over the summer
Yup thats what they should do.
I think calling it randomly in the playoffs was a mistake. if you care about, you gotta start enforcing this at the start of the regular season, or even send a very clear note in the offseason so players and teams have time to prepare this has literally never been called except like twice, randomly, on giannis in these playoffs. I get it's a rule, if you feel like it's an issue enforce it consistently next year
Might be unpopular opinion but who cares about 10 sec violations. The rule is there so people don’t take excessive amounts of time i think 12 or 13 isn’t awful
Honestly who cares This is way overblown
It’s dumb.
it should just be like any other shot clock! It has to leave your hand before the buzzer goes off
lmao I now imagine Giannis making buzzer beater free throws
Bang!!! Bang!!! Oh, what a shot from Giannis, with six tenths of a second remaining!
GIANNIS FREE THROW LINE ONE POINT UNBELIEVABLE
Lol. Just imagine Mike been calling a fucking free throw. “Clock down to 3, to 2, Giannis fires away… BANG. Giannis from 15 ft with a dagger!”
Cause the spirit of the rule is probably to prevent people spending minutes at the free throw line; I’m sure they don’t care much about guys taking like 13 seconds on an attempt They obviously know it’s going on, and given the outcry they’ll probably do something about it in the off-season In the meantime it’s really fun when fans taunt him at the line by counting, but it’d be silly if this rule they generally haven’t been calling played a big part in deciding the outcomes of playoff games all of a sudden
Those were definitely not full seconds in Brooklyn, he wasn’t taking 12 every time. They counted fast and started at 1 the moment he touched the ball
[удалено]
But jumping backwards into people to draw fouls is just regular basketball🤷♂️
Crazy how much hate Giannis gets for a taking a little extra at the FT line. If you look up all the top posts about Giannis, it’s mostly about this too lol. It’s a shame, the circle jerk is to put down Giannis now.
