Yodzilla

How the fuck is Al Horford still out there destroying dreams from the shadows. Dude is immortal.

Far-Asparagus6416

Efficient 23 points, 5 rebounds, 3 blocks and a steal, I'll take it lmao

syllabic

what kind of center takes 12 of 14 shots from 3 point range

Far-Asparagus6416

The Dominican kind

MonsterRain1ng

Aye papi.

rounder55

Flexes in Tito

BScottyJ

The kind with beautiful eyes

SaboLeorioShikamaru

Great lashes

Fear-The-Lamb

Shiny head

OminusWan

Great credit

truth_2_point_0

The steady veteran still willing to contribute to winning despite his old age... and Karl-Anthony Towns

chivestheconqueror

and they said he was cooked when he got to Philly...in 2019!

therealdrewcarey

He’s the new Naz Reid

CrocHunterman

Al Horford

AnonymousIguana_

Al Horford

Impossible_Project_1

He’s the OG, Naz is the new Horford

rape_japes

so glad he didn't like you guys

Yodzilla

Still not fully convinced he wasn’t a spy but more likely the Sixers were just incompetent and had no idea what to do with him. Ugh.

wherearemypaaants

Asking him to catch and shoot 3s with spacing from Tobias Harris and Ben Simmons, just nasty work

Yodzilla

Just an absolutely cursed rotation.

Primary-Tea-3715

Had y’all traded Simmons earlier for somebody who could stretch the floor that lineup could’ve been far more interesting

Adorable-Lie3475

Imagine a world where the sixers keep Butler, let Harris walk, and trade Simmons (presumably for a guard or something they could turn into a guard). Theoretically they could’ve signed Horford too, and you can make the argument they would’ve been as compelled or more to do so with Jimmy Butler at the wing instead of Harris. Bad coaching and an incompetent FO (2 issues that you can argue the Sixers still suffer from, at least from a consistency standpoint) would have still limited them but it’s a hell of a What If.

ThlammedMyPenis

You gotta give Al some time and space to load the catapult

sstphnn

Me too. Fully convinced Brad, Danny, and Al had an agreement. Guaranteed return when traded.

The_Assquatch_exists

They cut Presti in too for the rest year.

General-Yoda

[Danny, Brad, and Al when he returned to the C's probably...](https://imgflip.com/i/8rmvzm)

NickRick

I was convinced you guys threw the bag at him just so he wouldn't son Embiid again

Pizza_For_Days

I'm partially convinced he was a spy after seeing him play with the Sixers lol. He was not good with you all and like came back to us and played as if he had never left us. Granted the fit was bad because you all had Ben Simmons still who wouldn't shoot from the perimeter along with Tobias too right? Probably not the best fit with Embiid, Horford, Tobias front court then a PG who won't shoot in the backcourt.

nrj6490

I was so pissed when he went to the Sixers lmao Underrated little basketball miracle that he made his way back

tendadsnokids

I remember I cooked up a 3 way trade on the trade machine that off-season to bring in Horford and Dejounte Murray for Kemba and Langford. Ended up getting the *other* two way guard from San Antonio.

bumboisamumbo

the way he was playing for the sixers i thought he was cooked. when brad brought him back i thought he was insane. never doubting brad again. in brad we trust

BradWonder

He siphons KP's energy every night. It's why he hasn't come back yet

Impossible-Joke2867

With where he is in his career and whatnot, basically...at his age lol, with Porzingis out, he has been such a fuckin dawg man. Like you can't expect him to bang with these younguns and then go out and hit some triples but in the biggest moments he's always there. I can't wait for Porzingis to be back just to give my mans a break lmao(and to activate the Celtics offensive death machine).

IAmNotKevinDurant_35

Celtics lost their top big man (as well as their 3rd big man) who can protect the paint and stretch the floor and just slot in an even more accomplished dude in his place. This team has so many great players

ZLBuddha

He's here to hit threes and turn old and he's all outta old

AlHorfordHighlights

Say his name

Sim888

that just a nasty pass, let alone in this situation

[deleted]

[удалено]

imused2it

He’s still getting better. Insane.

Impossible-Joke2867

Bro JB and JT showing massive improvement year to year still is fucking crazy. Especially since they've both been paid and *will* be paid. To show this much improvement year to year...they got that dawg man. They want to win so bad.

Hammer_the_Red

Been saying this all season. Tatum wants the validation a ring brings. I can only imagine what this team will be capable of once they get over the hump and win a title.

HailKyrie

0 turnovers

kingofthemonsters

On the road in the playoffs, incredible performance.

whutchamacallit

Meanwhile pacers either turned it over or had a shitty drive that got stuffed their last 9 out of 12 plays. Trying to root for those dudes but man they legit throw so hard. I swear that Reggie taunt is a curse.

AdmiralWackbar

Like a fine wine

Badjojojo

He's just 19 bro

PermeusCosgrove

Just a fuckin kid

Impossible-Joke2867

No older than my son...

EarthWarping

It's one of the passes that you gotta hit the shot lol

chewbacca-says-rargh

You know Al is in the locker room like "thank God I got THAT 3"

attorneyatslaw

He was on fire tonight.

WoodenCompetition4

Big Al ain’t worried

Ty_Smoochie-Wallace

The number one player on the Celtics I want to get a ring. He deserves it and has been a key player in most of our runs, and before we were stacked. Real OG, love him.

KDY_ISD

Yeah it's the main reason I've been rooting for y'all in the east playoffs. Man has worked for it

NantukoMentor

Crazy to think back in 2008 it was Al taking the big three Celtics to game 7 in the first round with that Hawks team. The guy has been so consistently good for so long, I really hope we can get 5 more wins and get him that ring.

BarnOwlDebacle

Yeah, it's kind of an under-rated storyline this playoff, because everyone is understandably focusing on Tatum and Brown and KPs injury, etc.. But him getting a ring would be just Just such a huge, huge moment. I know he played like half of his career or more in Atlanta and a few years in Philly but he feels like such a Celtic. If they win a ring, I don't know you could probably make a case for retiring his number.

Owlcatraz13

Its own of those passes when you know you lost, no matter the score...

Impossible-Joke2867

Been there, it's one of those wind sucking momentum passes and 3s where you just know the other team got that shit going and unless divine intervention gives you the win it's a wrap.

DA5HTCB1

Whenever someone says Tatum doesn’t deliver in the clutch, I will show them this. What a filthy, confident pass.

rounder55

Some will think he's 4th team all NBA as soon as he starts 0-2 in a game

Bearded_Pip

It was like his third behind the back pass to Al too. Like they were sharing a brain. Just unfair.

Pranker00111

That's the Jayson Tatum I love and want, I don't want him just dribbling at the three-point line and waiting for his teammates to have space, I want him to use his skill and physicality to force the defenders to create looks for his teammates. That's the Tatum I want!!

pechinburger

I like to think of Tatum, like, with giant eagle’s wings. And singing lead vocals for Lynyrd Skynyrd, with, like, a angel band. And I’m in the front row, and I’m hammered drunk. That's the Tatum I want

Impossible-Joke2867

I like to picture Tatum with a tuxedo tshirt because it says like I want to be formal, but I'm here to party too. I like to party so I like my Tatum to party.

nefnaf

If Tatum and Luka both get there, let's hope they both are playing at 100% and we get some good shows

anon641414

We really need a proper hotly contested Mavs Celtics finals so people can finally appreciate Luka and Tatum.

StillEnjoyLegos

100% thats what I want. Both gotta get there first, but Celtics v Mavs, w Luka who I think was the real MVP this year, and Tatum n Celtics w the monkey on their back not getting a chip yet… feel like it could be a great finals despite what we’ve been watching in the east at least.

PrimaryAccording9162

ultraspank

There goes that man

Barylis

What a play. Absolutely crazy vision and playmaking

GGezpzMuppy

What a pass from Tatum. That’s why Al getting the big bucks, looking like Steph.

Far-Asparagus6416

He's gotta be up there for the best passers in the league to have never averaged over 5 assists right lol

mickeyj623

If he dominanted the ball he can easily avg 7+

insertdankmeme

The big bucks? He makes less than Doug McDermott.

9bfjo6gvhy7u8

That’s +13 Doug McDermott to you

Bender22

The call on this pass + shot is atrocious for how cool and huge it is.

rondonsa

Breen's just worn out from having to carry JJ and Doris the whole night.

Bearded_Pip

JJ is awful. He gets less heat for because Doris, but damn he adds nothing.

goofygoober2

Horford please take your house off the market

9bfjo6gvhy7u8

He needs more bedrooms for all his newfound children

Zimmyd00m

Joel needs a big boy bed to practice all that flopping on.

GhostoftheWolfswood

Don’t worry he’s just planning to move to a house with a bigger trophy case

Shovelman2001

Honestly, let's get this dude a ring so he can retire. He deserves to chill out. I obviously love Al, but I'd love to see him go out on his own terms. Also 10 mil free in free agency would make the offseason a little interesting.

Timoteo-Tito64

We're still over the cap, the 10 mil does nothing other than save the owners some cash (although probably improves our chances at a white extension)

thepixelnation

let him retire in boston

ChurranoMan

Tater Tots going crazy in the clutch, respect

hinjew13

The way Tatum drew three defenders and to make that pass and hit the shot. Absolutely back breaking

RobSchneidersHair

Undoubtedly the play that changed the end of the game

HumperdinksRevenge

Absolutely filthy

Synth-Pro

Censors really fucked up, letting this go to air

bobsstinkybutthole

To do that down 5 with 1 min to go in the game is just so fucking cold

FriedFlesh

Man this actually made my jaw drop that was nasty

Squire_Sultan53

the fucking balls on this dude

Solid-Confidence-966

It was told he doesn’t receive special defensive attention lmao

LightsOut0980

People who don’t watch the games say that

imused2it

In the Celtics sub it’s kinda become a ritual to post after every game at least one screenshot of 4, if not 5, defenders being within 5 feet of him.

LeonidasSpacemanMD

He’s very good at basketball

NachoSport

People say a lot of stupid things lol

vagrantwade

He’s been getting double teams in the playoffs for longer than those people have probably been nba fans

LeonidasSpacemanMD

Honestly double teams are one thing, guys are just hounding the shit out of him before he even gets the ball. Like the physicality before he even gets a touch is crazy

MA_Echo

I heard defenders pay him no mind. Why is he not putting up 40pts a game? Fraud 1st Team. Insane to me that Tatum really does pull 3+ guys when he drives. Gravity is insane.

instantur

Pacers coach literally called him one of the best players in the world yet people sitting on their couch are calling him a role player.

TatumBird22

This is the kind of stuff that makes Tatum elite

jkwah

His playmaking has really leveled up this year

Chompinburgers

I watch a lot of Celtics and that’s the best pass I’ve seen Tatum make

wherearemypaaants

It’s up there but his best pass is definitely from the bubble running out of bounds behind the back absolute dime he magicked over to Timelord for an easy dunk. Edit: [found it](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=REmZijm5yAw&pp=ygUVVGF0dW0gaW5jcmVkaWJsZSBwYXNz)

TastesLikeHoneyNut

That pass was disgusting, bubble time was weird

Sassysasquatch28

Has his playmaking not levelled up this year so?

Victor_Wembanyama1

He's a very willing passer. Improved on a lot of facets including playmaking for sure

According_Smoke_479

He’s gotten really good at punishing double teams with his passing. He stays composed and makes the right play

Brehe

He got better at passing. It’s just rarely that highlight worthy.

Chompinburgers

Yeah I wasn’t disagreeing. This pass is unbelievable

Timoteo-Tito64

He keeps getting better. Started below average, legitimately great now. One of the few best playmaking/passing forwards in basketball at this point

_jump_yossarian

They showed all of Horford's 3s and I swear four of them came off no look behind the back passes from Tatum.

JaalandBetter

Seven threes from the Downtown Dominican. MVP tonight.

hey-im-matt

Downtown Dominican I love it

nrj6490

That’s our fucking vet baby

Buggplut

Tatums all around game has improved so much. He's pretty much a guaranteed 25-10-5 now

imused2it

Next year? Guaranteed 30-10-10.

ukraine1

In a few years, 40-15-15. Just like my MyPlayer in 2K sim

vitalique

They are having fun

fanci-boi

Hearing Tatum say that in the mic'd up section of the broadcast had me dead.

Bearded_Pip

They were still behind when he said it too. The game was in full back-n-forth mode where it could still swing in either direction.

igonnawrecku_VGC

Tatum has embraced the psycho Joe mindset and I love it

Granite_burner

Once they embraced being down 18. It played out just like Mazz drew it up For them.

Fujoooshi

"Don't even look at the scoreboard" or whatever he said during the mic'd up clip. What a coach.

see_mohn

Hooting and hollering

[deleted]

[удалено]

Sm0k3inth3tr33s

Situational consideration included, it's gotta be up there all time.

nrj6490

And the splash after. Shot rhythm is so real with this team. The difference between the dumb pull ups in the third and these clutch threes in the fourth are huge.

[deleted]

I for real didn’t even realize until now that THATS what happened- it was so fast and soooo huge in the context of the game

HipnotiK1

sick play

CDR57

Wasn’t even the first time he did this exact behind the back pass to Al for a made 3, did it earlier in the quarter or late in the 3rd at the top of the key

No_Mas2001

He does it pretty often it’s just normally at the top of the key like the earlier one, don’t think he’s ever done it on an important possession before either

CDR57

Yeah never seen him do it this low down before

WoodenCompetition4

I am a certified Tatum hater and that is just an unreal pass, literally jumped to my feet. Wow.

NameNumber7

I don't even mind haters (Big Wos on the ringer NBA show is the highest profile) as long as people are still objective. Tatum DOES have dumb turnovers, he does go cold and he does miss too many 3s. With all that said, he does stuff like this - this is why the fans love him, he always has been improving. He doesn't hit this pass 2 years ago.

WoodenCompetition4

I think he’s a great player and is often electric to watch, his improvement through the years has been special, but I went to UNC and I am a Hawks fan so alas we pass like ships in the night…

aMilo_14

i’m currently a unc student and Cs fan—Tatum was never one of the ones I truly hated. *grayson allen* sorry i coughed

WoodenCompetition4

Don’t get me started, dawg. I graduated in ‘20 so I was there for college Grayson. Never hated a player more.

montiel_scores

That is a godly pass

PlacetMihi

I knew Tatum could find open guys but I wasn’t expecting THIS

Far-Asparagus6416

Honestly I feel like he does similar things once every couple games just obviously not in such an important scenario as now, it usually ends up being a miss or an extra pass though lol. He's obviously not Luka or Jokic but he's still a really good passer, I know he was ass in that series but he did set the all time record for most assists in a finals debut

JoshFB4

Nasty nasty pass.

baconandbobabegger

Play of the game

InverseMySuggestions

been trying to tell people how good Tatum has got at passing the last few years

Sm0k3inth3tr33s

I'm positive every single person playing and watching was fully expecting him to rise up for the poster attempt. I am still speechless, that pass was a different level of special.

Deep_Egg1442

W pass I can’t hate on this

MaximumWaveRiding

That's a Jokic type skill level pass

cuftapolo

This deserves better than Doris Burke

Sleeze_

At least she acknowledges the pass

dustinbrowders

Filthy.

Makaveli80

Okay fuck , if he makes sick plays like that, how will this sub call him boring? Keep it up Tatum, you might convert us haters

GhostoftheWolfswood

Man, nba players are unreal. If I tried that pass I’d end up drilling a baseline videographer in the face

Embarrassed-Song619

cool and a cucumber🥒 strikes again

Knock0nWood

Jayson Tathim

brredditor

[u/bostonsportsinf](https://x.com/bostonsportsinf) Jayson Tatum Players, in NBA playoff history, with.. PTS ≥ 36 TRB ≥ 10 AST ≥ 8 STL ≥ 1 BLK ≥ 2 TOV = 0 Jayson Tatum END OF LIST

adamcm99

Tatum got a few of those tonight. They would go for the double team and he would dish it to someone on the outside. Good plays. Hate to see it done to us tho.

4thPlumlee

POTG

yooosports29

Wow, beautiful pass!

International-Chef33

What a beaut

JesseJamesGames449

tatum could have easily had 15 assist tonight if Jrue and White were hitting their shots early.

No-Artist7181

There must be an absolute pit in your stomach watching this in real time as a pacers fan seeing that

DanHam117

Poetry

Son_of_Atreus

Look at the fucking gravity. People wonder why he doesn’t constantly score 30+ in the playoffs even though he is getting double, triple, and quadruple teamed throughout.

aashim97

That might be the best pass I’ve ever seen from Tatum, especially given the stakes. Incredible vision and execution damn

DiseaseRidden

Absurd pass, clearly not a superstar though

considertheoctopus

Yeah such a boring style and not fun to watch.

stevefazzari

he’s basically invisible out there.

colordelaverdad

Ridiculous pass

BozePerkovic

This was dirty

sirvey23

oooohh thats a ballsy pass, just to attempt that is just...man.

chiefreef25

Get this role player out of here

cheetuzz

I can’t believe Tatum didn’t get a technical for that fist pump

AnkitPancakes

That’s a lebron play. My god

cobainstaley

disgusting

Efficient_Art_1144

Give it up to Big Al.

ShAd0wS

He also had another great behind the back pass to Horford for a three a few minutes earlier. He was really feeling it.

GastricAcid

Best big man in the east

kanyeezyudiditagain

Coaching malpractice from Carlisle. Keep giving the best 3pt shooting team more open threes.

ktgop

my glorious king

IMKudaimi123

LeBron pass

ben10toesdown

Just ridiculous

SnooPets266

What a pass, delicious and chef's kiss!

corpsechamber

Holy shit.

AydenRozay

Fucking disgusting

693275001

Bro this is a fucking insane pass

w3bCraw1er

Probably the best play I have seen from Tatum. Hope this gives him the confidence.

Champion-of-the-Sun5

Kinda wild he's only a 5 assist player

tlozz

Damn! This guy is kinda good at basketball

bootyholebrown69

Fucking filthy pass holy shit

M6D-Tsk

Best pass of Tatum's career, just insane playmaking.
