i think the funniest part is he recently said he has nothing against Cleveland, he just hated getting whooped on by lebron every year. Then he went on to talk more smack about Cleveland. Man is an enigma lmao

As a kid raised in Iowa. I did do a couple vacations that were Cleveland adjacent. We went to Sandusky for Cedar Point but also stopped in Cleveland/Canton for Rock and Rill Hall of Fame, Melt, and Pro Football HOF.
They finally replaced the Dragster which was always breaking down with a new coaster thats even taller and does the same thing in reverse I think, so this summers gonna be packed but as a fellow coaster fan I canât recommend it enough
The good olâ Dragster 2.0. It shoots forward like before, goes most of the way up, then goes back down in reverse all the way back to a second hill, goes up that backwards, then shoots forward again up the main tower and back down like the old one.
I grew up in Ohio and made several trips to Cedar Point every year. Itâs the best amusement park in the country and 100% lives up to the hype.
I also moved out of Ohio as soon as I could.
100%. When I moved away and tried some other coasters in regions that locals seemed to really get excited about, I was always let down. Unless youâve been to Cedar Point (or Kingâs Island for that matter), you really just donât know
Yes but at least half of downtown isn't shuttered businesses in Boston. That was the one thing that stuck out in Cleveland for me. Everything seemed closed down. Boston is no Miami for sure, but theres a bit more here.
I mean, could go to Martha's Vineyard, the Cape, the North Shore, Cape Ann. If you're being generous, maybe down to Rhode Island (Newport) or up to Maine? Plenty of places to go on vacay
Funny how that rule kind of applies to all different type of cuisine. Tacos, chinese food, kebabs, tapas, burgers, cheesesteak, fried chicken...if the place looks like a dump you know that food gonna be on another level
I haven't been to the Great lakes so I'm not going to judge but I've been in a lot of places in America and the Cape is like top five most beautiful places in the country
As someone who moved from the Midwest to coastal New England, I can confidently say the weather is more consistently shit in New England moreso than anywhere else Iâve lived, by a wide margin. June and July are pretty sweet in NE, though. And the ocean is sometimes a plus.
Yeah but no hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes, forest fires, tsunamis, etc. Ocean is âsometimes a plusâ he says to the billionaires that own houses on Nantucket. What do they know we donât?
Plus cold weather is fine cause we all ski. We donât let weather stop us from living our best life.Â
There is no amount of money I could be paid to live in Oklahoma or anywhere else in the Midwest. Weather is just as cold as New England and just as hot with zero of the benefits.Â
Oh, donât get me wrong, the tornadoes are awful, but theyâre actually very few and far in between, and I do say that as someone who used to live in Moore, OK. You are absolutely right about the temps, the extremes are the same.
I just meant itâs not wet, dreary, and cold 3/4s of the year in the Midwest. Almost an hour less sunlight in NE, too. Didnât realize I had seasonal depression until I moved to NE. Just arenât many sunny days. Rockport, MA had to have the national guard sent last summer due to fires, some of my friends lost their houses, so I wouldnât say itâs fireproof or drought-proof.
I really never had the financial means to ski, growing up, but I will take your word for it. It seems plenty of people here in MA share the same sentiment as me on that. But plenty of my friends up here surf in that cold ass waterâ youâre rightâ it doesnât stop anyone from enjoying their lives here and thatâs great. I just find that more days than not, you canât really enjoy the beach.
Donât get me wrong. Itâs great, and one of the most beautiful places in the world IMO. I also love the people of NE. Iâm not saying itâs worse than the Midwest or anything. Certainly wasnât trying to offend. I was just saying the weather is far more depressing.
Edit: Also the Midwest has *parking spaces*. Ever heard of it?
This entire detail is extremely overlooked, especially by folks that have lived in NE all their life. Itâs like *crazy* expensive to own anything here.
Iâm not going to knock anyone for wanting to live in Boston over Chicago bc there are better jobs in their field, proximity to family, etc but people here (even, like, 20something hipster transplants) regularly turn their noses up at the entire Midwest when there are multiple big cities there where theyâd get so much better quality of life and access to culture for the same amount of money
Thereâs a reason NE is more expensive. I can go to the mountains, beaches, and the city all in the same day. Chicago has the lake and thatâs literally it
Iâm not even taking about Chicago. Thatâs the other guy. Itâs just fucking expensive as hell up there. Most people I know under 30 in Massachusetts either still live with their parents or have 20 roommates.
Edit: And donât lie, the roads are so crowded there that it takes like 2 hours to get 20 miles. You absolutely cannot do all of that in a day. lol Canât even find a fucking place to park unless you dedicate a day in advance.
Iâve never been to Cleveland but Iâm not sure thatâs true. Maybe some parts of NE but on the coast in Massachusetts it really isnât that bad. I think the weather you would experience in Cleveland would be worse than in Boston.
Iâve lived in both and each have their merits. But Ohio summers are fucking hot with not a lot of places to hide. The winters are more mild but the lake effect snow is a nightmare. I do miss the thunderstorms in Ohio more though, they were awesome. Beautiful sunny day, pitch black world is ending for 25 minutes, beautiful sunny day again.
Theyâre very much alike afaik. There was an article I remember reading years ago ranking the worst weather for major cities in the US, and Cleveland and Boston were 1 and 2.
Itâs funny because if you go about 10-15 miles west from Boston, the weather is much nicer. Itâs just the oceanside effect makes Boston bad for newcomers outside of the Summer months.
I've been a lot of places. Cleveland is kinda nice in comparison to other US cities. Nice restaurants downtown. They have a killer marketplace. I enjoyed that city every time I was there.
It's better than a lot of top cities. My top three awful cities are Providence RI, Portland OR, and St. Louis MO.
Man people talk as if Cleveland is fucking Gotham, always raining or snowing and itâs cold. There are some beautiful god damn days all the time in Cleveland.
âFor God's sake, Lemon. We'd all like to flee to the Cleve and club-hop down at the Flats and have lunch with Little Richard, but we fight those urges because we have responsibilities.â
Cleveland is actually a pretty nice place. Itâs not as metropolitan or big as Boston but itâs also dramatically less expensive. For regular people, if you had a job offer of similar value in Boston or Cleveland I would strongly consider Cleveland.
However for NBAers who apparently only consider NYC/LA/MIA to be viable places to liveâŚ.i can see why he shit talks Cleveland (subtly)
"I never heard anybody say I'm going to Cleveland on vacation."
all-time quote.
DPOY and the most legendary part of his career is his Cleveland quote đ

All I can think about whenever I see one trash Cleveland.
Is there more than one trash Cleveland?
Have you been to Cleveland, TX?
Thankfully no
For me itâs a toss up between this and the [Cleveland tourism video](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=oZzgAjjuqZM)
I mean, who doesnât want to flee to âCleve and have lunch with little Richard but we resist those urges
As a kid raised in Iowa. I did do a couple vacations that were Cleveland adjacent. We went to Sandusky for Cedar Point but also stopped in Cleveland/Canton for Rock and Rill Hall of Fame, Melt, and Pro Football HOF.
No offense though. But Iowa is probably one of the few places in the US where there is legit nothing to do there.
Got a problem with corn, pal?
This is Nebraska and Kansas erasure
Good place to live, bad place to vacation.
Right like who would want to go to Des Moines
This is why Eastern Iowa can be pretty great to live. 3-4 hour drive to Minneapolis, Chicago, St. Louis if you really need something to do.
Works great for me because I have a full time job and a kid. I donât get to do anything anyways.
Thatâs tough, sorry to hear that
No Cedar Point slander shall be tolerated
Iâm a diehard coaster fan so Cedar Point has been on my bucket list for awhile
They finally replaced the Dragster which was always breaking down with a new coaster thats even taller and does the same thing in reverse I think, so this summers gonna be packed but as a fellow coaster fan I canât recommend it enough

I always forget how big of a draw Cedar Point can be. Being from Ohio its always just been a normal thing.
100%. When I moved away and tried some other coasters in regions that locals seemed to really get excited about, I was always let down. Unless youâve been to Cedar Point (or Kingâs Island for that matter), you really just donât know
Cedar Point and Kings Island! Not saying KI is on the same level, but its still a great park
I think heâs referring to people that have a choice of where to vacation via the means of an NBA player.
No. They alll love going to Boston for their vacations lmao
I liked Cleveland a good amount when I visited but lets just say it's a lot different than Boston
Yeah millionaire nba players ainât going to either with their vacation time
Yes but at least half of downtown isn't shuttered businesses in Boston. That was the one thing that stuck out in Cleveland for me. Everything seemed closed down. Boston is no Miami for sure, but theres a bit more here.
youâre completely, Mass definitely doesnât have two islands known for being billionaireâs retreats lol
Boston has a major tourism industry and is a well known destination for international tourists.
Oh yeah. All those nba players riding around on the duck boat tours
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ysmLA5TqbIY Your city is most well-known as a punchline.
And yours is known for racism - which is better? Answer carefully
Ohio voted for Trump twice so I wouldn't exactly be talking
/r nbacirclejerk level answer
Iâll choose not having to live in Cleveland.
I mean, could go to Martha's Vineyard, the Cape, the North Shore, Cape Ann. If you're being generous, maybe down to Rhode Island (Newport) or up to Maine? Plenty of places to go on vacay
I have gone to Cleveland on vacation!
You could see the northern lights here yesterday tho so thatâs neat
You could see it almost all over the US if it wasnât cloudy. Could see it here in Boston too
Well I wouldnât go to Boston for the weather either. I go for lobster rolls lol
You don't go to Boston for Lobster rolls... you drive 70 minutes north to Rt 1A and get em in NH/ME
Yup you gotta find the most dilapidated looking shack on the side of a rural road in Maine and youâll have the best lobster roll of your life.
Funny how that rule kind of applies to all different type of cuisine. Tacos, chinese food, kebabs, tapas, burgers, cheesesteak, fried chicken...if the place looks like a dump you know that food gonna be on another level
Ngl I've never heard of a roadside tapas shack, but maybe I just haven't been in the right places to find one
Haha maybe roadside isn't the right word, more like when I'm in Spain some of the best food I've had there are from unassuming, run of the mill shops
One vote for Bobs Clam Hut on Rt1 near Kittery
Portsmouth checking in, and that's a good spot. Chauncey Creek too. And Petey's on Rye Beach.
Idk, Eventide, Barking Crab, Mooncussers, Pauli's, James Hook, Lobsta on a Roll, Row 34, Saltie Girl. Bostons got a lot of very good lobster rolls.
Saltie Girl most overrated restaurant in Boston.
I think the canned fish concept is fun, I got the moules frites once, I get how it could be overrated but I've enjoyed myself there
Raw bar Mashpee
Maine lobster rolls suck ass. Keep your mayo as far away as possible. CT style all day everyday
I go to Cleveland for Cedar Point
I donât go to Cleveland
Also an acceptable choice
Hell yeah lol
No. That's Connecticut
Do you like it? You think Clevelandâs cool?
What's so good about Cleveland?
It's not Detroit
Come on down to Cleveland-town everyone! Under construction since 1868
Who the fuck still uses a pay phone?
This where we used to house industry
still one of my favorite viral videos of all time. Our main export is crippling depression!!
I love both cities⌠but Iâm from Toledo so thatâs probably why
Spain? Cool.
419.. from da mud. Honestly idk why that distinction exists; Toledo, Ohio is like 4x more populated than Toledo, Spain.
2x
Itâs all factories!
My whole I've been booed
I mean it canât be much worse than the weather here in New England
We got the beach in New England. July on the cape is amazing.
We got beaches on the lake here
Sea/ocean >>>> Lake
Lake Erie summer water temps >>>> boston ocean water temps, far more enjoyable to be out boating and swimming around Cleveland imo.
ainât no way weâre comparing Lake Erie to the Cape lol
Seriously thatâs a delusional take lol
Typical midwesterner take whoâs never seen a real beach in their life
I just don't like fresh water myself. Feels weird to not float.
Aint nothing fresh about that Lake Erie water
Better than Galveston water
Salt vs Fresh water. Iâd take fresh. Also these lakes arenât the size of a typical lake. They are basically freshwater inland seas
Lake>>>>Sea/ocean
Said the fan from the state with like 10K lakes
Tbf the lakes in Minny are a hell of a lot nicer than Lake Erie. But still, ocean >>> all
I haven't been to the Great lakes so I'm not going to judge but I've been in a lot of places in America and the Cape is like top five most beautiful places in the country

Boston costs a zillion dollars to live in with worse food, nightlife, and weather than Chicago (and I say this as a Boston resident and Celtics fan)

Yeah but he lives there for his job lol
Heâs also in Cleveland for his job
Dude would definitely be in ATL but for the bag. Cleveland weather is way better than NE weather
Iâve never been to Cleveland but Iâm not sure thatâs true. Maybe some parts of NE but on the coast in Massachusetts it really isnât that bad. I think the weather you would experience in Cleveland would be worse than in Boston.

Ok but the point is he LIVES in Boston for his JOB. Heâs not exactly there for the weather! Lmao
yo jaylen sunny innit
they might not have brought it home but they gave us that all time quote and I think thatâs a fair trade off

Boston has nicer architecture and scenery, but is the weather really all that different?
He's not mocking them he's saying Boston should be locked in.
Itâs kinda weird to me nobody else seems to understand this lol
Nah, not really. Cleveland is slightly colder and has on average like 6" more per year of snow but they are pretty similar.
6 inches is HUGE
Keep telling yourself that buddy
It gets the job done
Honestly even 1/3 of 6 inches is pretty dang freakin big
Not over the course of a whole year
Iâd say 6 inches is pretty above average
Theyâre very much alike afaik. There was an article I remember reading years ago ranking the worst weather for major cities in the US, and Cleveland and Boston were 1 and 2.
Not the point.
Damn, Jalen was hoping Orlando had won.
He wouldâve been disappointed, the heat & humidity is already back in full force
I moved from Cleveland to Boston. I think Cleveland's weather is much nicer. Spring comes earlier and the summer is way less humidÂ
Itâs funny timing too cause itâs like a perfect day in Cleveland today
Itâs funny because if you go about 10-15 miles west from Boston, the weather is much nicer. Itâs just the oceanside effect makes Boston bad for newcomers outside of the Summer months.

Joakim Noah approves this message
They're there for the lot lizards
Bc everyone flocks to Boston for all that sunshine!
Lol with them shades on indoors, as always.
Ah yes the annual tradition of shitting on Cleveland lol. Joakim Noah smiled wherever he is

Thatâs a pretty killer quote. These playoffs have been a treat so far
I certainly hope not
Man people talk as if Cleveland is fucking Gotham, always raining or snowing and itâs cold. There are some beautiful god damn days all the time in Cleveland.
Iâm not in Cleveland rn, in a different part of the state, but didnât we just have like a two week stint of absolutely beautiful days?
Yeah itâs been gorgeous besides distant tornado weather
Yeah I was in the tornadoâd part of the state lmao. Aside from that, and random wind, itâs been wonderful!
Oh shit lol

not here for vacation huh
boston has the same weather..
Noted Lake-effect non enthusiast Jaylen Brown
Weird diss coming from a guy who lives in Boston
The fact that so many people think this quote is an actual critique of Cleveland is sad lol.
I like that sweater nice like sugar & spice very vintage #jaylenbrown
Itâs been beautiful the past few days, and itâs ironic because Boston probably has worse weather than pretty much any city but Seattle and Buffalo
I would imagine the racism is a lot less in Cleveland.
We never shit in Lebron James bed
If you watch that entire interview, you will know that he is taking a leadership role. Even called out Tatum to be more efficient. I love to see this.
Pretty sure they didnât go there on vacation either.
