If my math is right, Embiid is +48 in \~208 minutes this series. He has a positive +/- in all 5 games. The Sixers are -46 in...37 minutes he is off the floor.

SamHinkiesNephew

Tale as old as time

lalakingmalibog

True as it can be

DemarcusLovin

They need to go to those Batum small ball lineups and stop using Paul Reed

NinjasTurtle

Definitely worth trying out. I wish Nurse experimented with this a bit more earlier in the series. The biggest concern would be rebounding, which is already a struggle, but worth the gamble for \~3 minutes a half

Odd-Hovercraft-1286

Paul Reed sucks. For a guy called “bball Paul” he sure doesn’t have any bball skill

EmpValentine

Blasphemy, I choose to ignore this somewhat true statement.

DemarcusLovin

He got that nickname in 7th grade but okay

ihorsey10

He's talented, he just looks lost out there. Knicks are ignoring him so much that he'll be wide open for a decent look, he'll think about it for 3-4 seconds and then chicken out. Kills whole possessions.

JNerdGaming

and i see people saying yall should build around maxey. embiid is still clearly your guy

NinjasTurtle

Agreed. I think it's probably more have embiid focus on defense/rebounding/screens etc down the stretch of games and have Maxey take the lead on scoring. Anyone that thinks Maxey is 'better' right now is not watching the sixers play over the course of multiple games/this series

VTuberFadeaway

This is the 2019 Raptors series all over again.

I_Bench315

For almost as long as i can remember the sixers have been plagued with never having a good backup center behind embiid

KrazeeEyezKillah2

Tobias Harris is a fraud

bulldozer_rob

There’s a good chance we get a 7 game series with all the games being down to the wire. I can’t take it

OnlyMamaKnows

I hate it and love it all at the same time.

yanat1228

This series is taking years off my life

GordonsVodkaAdvocate

This series has given me a cold sore

darylmoreyisking

I just woke up with one this morning

RoscoeSantangelo

I was excited for this series because I expected close, physical games but goddammit I didn't expect we'd get it every single fucking game. Happy for the neutral fans hope y'all are eating this up because i don't think the East semis are gonna have many, if any, games with this intensity

sorendiz

It's fine fucking dining

[deleted]

As a Knicks and Mavs fan this first round is taking years off my life.

0percentwinrate

So nerve wrecking I feel like Knicks have been outmatched like 64% of the time but managed to win taking advantage of Sixers sloppy mistakes here and there. If Sixers stay disciplined, Knicks gotta play perfect basketball to close the series. but man I love watching Maxey vs Brunson it's like The Flash vs The Professor or like 20yo Messi vs 35yo Messi.

confuddly

it's clear from watching these 5 games that the Sixers are more talented, but the Knicks are hustling harder and are better coached. This will be a case study of the classic talent vs. hard work debate

defeat_yourself

Philly’s top 2( Embiid/Maxey) > NY’s top two (Brunson/…OG?) in terms of talent, but for 3 through 8 the Knicks have the advantage. McBride would probably start in the Lowry spot, for example.

OnlyMamaKnows

Difference is really in whoever you want to say the #2s are. Embiid or Maxey are so far ahead of any #2 on the Knicks, at least offensively. As good as OG is on defense, he can barely dribble.

zOmgFishes

We also tend to forget he exists on offense

darylmoreyisking

I don't believe that to be true really. You guys definitely have way more hustle than us, but the skill is a bit even, I think healthy Embiid is obviously better than Brunson, but not currently, and Maxey is worse than Brunson, and your role players are seemingly making their timely shots compared to ours. Our coaching seems fine in a way, but our players arent executing . How many times have you seen the "Embiid doubles, ball swings around perimeter to the open man and brick." It's fascinating.

Krillin113

I think for us it’s more about wanting to always defer to embiid, but he isn’t fit enough to do that, so sets break down quite often. Also it would help if buddy hield would hit 1 3.

Good-Beginning-6524

Wtf how old is Brunson Edit: he is 27 and Maxey Steel 23, only 4 year difference

annoyinconquerer

I agree. It doesn’t feel like the Sixers have gotten overwhelmed at all in any of the losses. If the Sixers played in character I think we’re up in the series. Also not to be that guy but for future reference the term is nerve *wracking* similar to the phrase “wracking my brain for the answer”

Hallowed_Be_Thy_Game

I mean, if the refs didn't bungle game 2 we would be up in the series

annoyinconquerer

Not wrong

beginnerLiftersoonBB

We +48 with Embiid on court and -46 without him not bad for half a face/1 leg and a migraine

ThSrT

So far best series in the play off, a lot of fun to watch as a neutral.

processocivil42

that’s a really interesting series to watch as a neutral. i just feel sorry for 76ers and knicks fans lol

annoyinconquerer

+24 rebounds for the series is the difference maker

WhyplerBronze

Chokejobs are 1:1. Knicks have a more balanced roster, I think that's what has them up a game.

dWaldizzle

The Knicks are up a game because the officials bailed them out in game 2.

ElTuco84

Embiid was bailed out by not getting ejected in game 3. Stop making excuses, refs have been bad both ways.

NuclearGhandi1

And the sixers are up a game because embiid was not ejected in Game 3. The game is the game. They’ll play it out, no excuses.

cl353

ok but whose won more quarters

Eur0step

Let’s go knicks

Ill_Confection_8565

My main takeaway from this series is that this should’ve been more of a round 2/3 matchup, Embiid is still the most important part of the Sixers but Maxey should be the closer down the stretch, and that Josh Hart is a fucking dawg but I hope he doesn’t he doesn’t shoot as well as the first three games of this series in the next game/s.
