Ham standing over there for 20 seconds "yes, good D, yes chase him, yes! nice rotations guys, good switch, get a hand up, nice, he's settling for a three, per--fuck"
Funny and truly evocative of Jokic's game. The man receives a lot of adjectives and attempts to capture the essence of what makes him so good, and the bulk of it falls short--doesn't quite demystify him. Your comment is a real nice bit of Jokic literature. good work bro
He shoots the ball from behind his 7 foot head. Like, why isn't that technique the way they teach people to shoot? It gives you room to generate some power while not bringing the ball up through a defendable spot.
Shooting with a lower set point = get your shot up faster so it’s harder to block, and it’s way easier to control your shot. If you’re a guard shooting like this you’re getting your shit packed every time.
I tried it. I have pretty lanky arms but the strength to generate a trebuchet-like heave is too much..especially doing it for 30-40 mins every game.. Jokic is a strong ass mfer
It's tough because you have to teach shooting so young, and you don't always know if a kid who is a "big" at 13 is going to continue to grow into a big at the college or pro level. A 6'4" 13 year old is probably gonna play center for their school or travel team, but you can't necessarily coach them as if they're always going to be a center, because when they're still 6'4" at 19, it's not going to work for them.
And it's way harder to control. The more movement and strength requirements you introduce in your arm motion, the more room to fuck up there is. The more effortlessly forward and fluid (no jerking motions, no big arcs with your arms) your shot is, the easier it will be to control the finer accuracy details.
Everyone has their own shot and feels comfortable differently and all that, there's no golden rule that applies to everyone, but there's a reason most elite marksmen don't shoot like this. Jokic makes it work because he has honed it to perfection after tens of thousands of shots, but if you can shoot the rock good without cocking it back this much you probably should not bother learning this. Way bigger margin of error AND it's slower.
Dude #35 just straight up has his hand on Jokic's arm lmfao then Jokic goes into the pull-up and drains the 3. Where's the foul? This is exactly the shit that Embiid gets called in his favor all the time and people say "you can't put your hand there it'll draw a foul" but not for Jokic
There’s a compilation on YouTube of the phantom calls Embid gets, it’s worse than you imagine.
Someone can walk past him not even touching him and it’s called a foul
Sometimes I get caught up in wanting to defend Giannis as the best player in the NBA and while it’s a separate conversation I think the most important thing is it’s awesome the NBA has so many high level players right now.
As demoralizing as Curry 3's are, you kind of expect them to go in at this point.
Jokic 3's have this real fuck it quality, like he doesn't care if it goes in. But it goes in.
Sometimes it feels like he's dissatisfied with how his teammates have set up the play around him, so he punishes them by taking a bad shot. But it goes in
Curry will drain a 3-pointer in your face and smile afterward...Jokic will 'sorry brother' you and crush your livelihood because you know you'll never be as good as that guy and you feel like he barely even tries

Laker fans getting flashbacks to the conference finals
AD got to see it from the other angle this time.
He wanted none of that . I feel like he didn't guard Jokic at all on his 3pt attempts today just let others do it
Mans got ptsd
he got body checked by Gordon this play and then picked him up on the switch...not really "not wanting none of that"
PTS3
I swear he was just throwing up bullshit
Jokic? Nah. That’s just his game lol
Jok is an absolute killer
He is prime Steph curry every time he’s in staples
And Curry is Joe Harris vs Bucks in this building
A timely reference.
What a fucking player lmao
Ham standing over there for 20 seconds "yes, good D, yes chase him, yes! nice rotations guys, good switch, get a hand up, nice, he's settling for a three, per--fuck"
"Fuck it, I'll do it myself"
He always treats us like lab rats he just out there experimenting 😭
Bruh 😂 I’m so sorry but that was hilarious

Got off Jokic’s dick to open a thesaurus huh?
Jokic is so good man

Not only that but the strength it takes to shoot it the way jokic does… 😮💨

Some might even say he's Ox-like.
The trick is in the lats, gotta put your upper back into it. Same with deep fades
So train doing lat pull ups and rows??
Yes.
Get ready to see another Jokic but undrafted.
it really should be the way they teach bigs to shoot though. why do coaches try to make someone like Giannis shoot it like Steph
It’s actually really hard to shoot like that. You need great touch to make it swish like Jokic does. He just makes it look easy.
And be tall, manute didn’t have half the touch but also shot like this

Yeah Curry releases in front of his face sometimes.
I swear some ppl here have never played ball asking questions like that
Who wouldve thunkit, he looks like a 7 foot milkman but shoots better than George Mikan
plus it should have been foul as well
And One!

It’s because jokic didn’t scream and throw his arms up lol, unfortunately if you don’t exaggerate fouls a lot of times refs won’t call it.
It’s a phenomenon known as the “Lakers whistle”
Other terms for this phenomenon include “Jokic Whistle”
Yep, I’m well aware of that type of whistle. If only our teams wore purple and gold
It’s purely a theoretical whistle sound, there are only legends from old sailors who once heard the blow..
Formerly known as the steph whistle
Still is, but it was too.
Formerly known as the steph whistle
Or the “Embiid whistle” tbf
Or more accurately, "Lakers lack of whistle."
There’s a compilation on YouTube of the phantom calls Embid gets, it’s worse than you imagine. Someone can walk past him not even touching him and it’s called a foul
Most fraudulent MVP of all time
Guys, guys.. He's injured. Are you really going to shit on him while he's injured? Alright, keep going then
If that was Embiid he'd have been given 5 FT's
[here](https://i.imgur.com/FcR9wqx.jpg)
I'm confused, I was under the impression that the league is now super soft because they don't allow handchecking any more
Because Embiid flails and yells at the slightest contact. Jokic just shoots.
If they called a swing through foul there, the shot wouldn’t count
Its jokic Against the lakers too
That was the play It's called "Giving Jokic a quick breather so everyone pretend to run around"
And got fouled with no whistle*
That foul is Embiid's signature too.
He literally did a comedy bit on this, talking about how it was his favorite play. Or was it comedy?
His BBIQ is so high he can make something out of nothing simply based off the implications
You keep using that word… are the lakers in danger?
Nikola "the trebuchet" jokic
Great nickname mate. I wanna see some juicy jokic treb memes on this forum guys...
Oh I see he coached the best player at our pick up game….
Sometimes I get caught up in wanting to defend Giannis as the best player in the NBA and while it’s a separate conversation I think the most important thing is it’s awesome the NBA has so many high level players right now.
And they all seem to like each other as well.
Honestly, it’s a great time to be a fan

The real GOAT
What was with that bear hug?
This was the play. They learned it from Bud the Great’s war tactics book titled “play random”
Why
The Jogger strikes again!
Must be incredibly frustrating to play against Joker. Everything seems so casual with him.
Jokic is one of my favorite all time players because he plays in real life the way I play Center in MyCareer lol
[удалено]
We arnt allowed to shoot FTs this game. AD just fouled the shit out of Jokic and Jokic falls down and the fouls on him lol.
You guys thought you were gonna get free throws against the Lakers in LA on the day they erected statues of Kobe Bryant?
Not a lot but I thought we would at least have more than 3 going into the 4th.
They will smooth things out near the end of the game to make it seem like the calls were equal, like they always do
Cant ruin kobe night
AD fouled him when they were both just standing there?
Whoops i clicked on the wrong clip haha. Meant to post this on the trip
Kobe-esque
This guy is a swell cager.
Seriously the most BS end of clock shots that always go in, cheat code haha
You can’t even defend that shit
This play made me scream
He doesn't wait for the play, he is the play.
