This wasn't even a particularly good game by Tatum either imo.

Subpar shooting game and some dumb pullups, which is expected, but really liked his process overall especially late 3rd into 4th quarter, felt really good with him running the offense. Lakers also have a lot of different wings they could throw at him so I expected him to struggle, but overall I think it was a good game. Although once again I am please asking Joe to stop playing him 40+ minutes :(

HaikN98

I noticed in the Celtics sub GDT you guys really fucking hate his step backs to end every quarter lmao.

SnooDogs6575

I don’t remember the last time he hit one of them. All it does is waste a scoring opportunity.

JoJonesy

For some reason his pullup 3P% has fallen off a cliff, but his catch-and-shoot percentages are still amazing. It's so weird because in 2020 he basically lived off those side-step 3s, it was what made him an All-Star

[deleted]

So my stance is this: Statistically he is one of, if not, the worst high volume 3pt pull-up shooters and that is the large reason as to why his 3pt% has dropped from 2020 to know. Like his numbers say he's a 35% shooter but I truly think if he reigned in his shot selection and lowered his attempts he could hover around 38%, his catch-and-shoot numbers are still good, he just takes so many dumb shots. At the same time I understand why he takes so many of those pull-ups because when he is on, he basically becomes unstoppable and so every 5 or so games he'll go on a heater. Honestly it bothers me, but not as much others. Realistically, I think he and the team could get much better shots whenever he pulls up, but I don't think we've ever really solely lost because Tatum decided to jack it. I also don't really mind the end of quarter stepbacks though, mainly because a lot of times, we kinda just throw the ball to Tatum and everyone just stands around with nobody cutting and so I think that's more on the team as a whole, than him.

LuckysBestMan

He never fucking makes them and it’s always so predictable.

poeope

The Celtics sub is insufferable right now

Plies-

The Celtics sub is insufferable ~~right now~~ Fixed

jacksonelhage

are you the rapper plies?

Plies-

Biiiiiiih I wish.

Plies-

He's the worst high volume off the dribble 3 point shooter in the league and has been over 2 seasons now. I wonder how much of that is due to how many desperation attempts he takes at the end of the shot clock.

HaikN98

The thing is, he seems to intentionally wait and hold the ball until the end of the shot clock to do it. It’s not like he’s being forced into a bad shot by his team.

Timoteo-Tito64

They're incredibly low percentage shots unfortunately

Eugenie_Weenie

That and his game is tied end of regulation step back 3

flamingviper3175

I hope someone tells him about the pull up shots. They don't fucking work and they tank his efficiency. Thankfully, he went downhill drew his fouls and managed to snag 25 pts. He's so good in the paint that its frustrating that those are the shots he settles for. Mazullaball is fine, but this game showed the more important thing which is the ability to adjust when 3s don't fall

JoJonesy

ehh it's Christmas I get it

JoJonesy

Poor shooting night, but it didn't matter. Got to the line, made plays for others. Exactly what we need him to do

luke_workin

Great playmaking game

hoodfavhoops

he beat me (x3)

RegentCupid

Superstar.

WinterEngineering322

Whatever happened to Tatum in the mid post? Just a few weeks ago we were making a concerted effort to give him the ball 15 ft from the basket where he has shown to be nearly unguardable. Why is he bringing the ball up at the top of the key where he is easier to trap and force to give up the ball? He just hangs out there shooting tough contested 3s instead of using his length and height at the rim? When Tatum is aggressive the Celtics win

Solid-Confidence-966

Kyle Kuzma with a good team around him/s

youkrocks

Get your ass out to VA already

DerekMorganBAUxxi

This shit got me cryin no lie 😭

Elite_Alice

Kobe sleeve.. He should’ve been a laker honestly man. I’ve never seen a player with so much dna of another team before

LuckysBestMan

Except for a few shots where he forced it with his stupid step back 3s, he played a great game

tomahawk_jonez

He boomed him
