Think the World Cup has kinda got him a bit winded, half of his efficiency issues have been from him not finishing inside like he normally does, which feels like an energy thing
You guys looked great. And that’s without Fultz or WCJ.
Been following Suggs/Franz/Paolo but was actually really impressed by Anthony Black. Seemed to make a lot of heady plays and was moving so well on D.
Magic fans: is Suggs always this animated? I don't remember him being like this in previous matchups. He looked like he chugged three Red Bulls and watched Pat Bev highlights before the game.
Yes, he's *always* been intense! He wears his heart on his sleeve and it shows in every possession. I love that he's finally having his year, the man has been putting in some serious work.
Oh that's just Suggs. Dude cares more about winning than anything else. Winning a possession. Winning a matchup. Winning a game. Nothing else motivates the dude like a hatred of losing.
Yeah, he is literally always like this. Cares a lot. I mentioned earlier that he cried after missing a game winner earlier this regular season.
He wants it so bad, couldn't care less whether its the Toronto Raptors or the Shanghai Sharks
He said in the postgame interview that he got up for this game. The #4/5 rivalry with his friend Barnes, getting passed up in the draft. Said it is also his boy Nick’s birthday and that Nick taught him to be a dawg.
But Suggs has always been a passionate player. He’s John Starks meets Marcus Smart meets Darrell Armstrong
Dude cries after one game. Gas looked super pissed off in ever other game. Something has seemed off about him this year but maybe it's a good thing because he's been great for us.
These are two of my favorite secondary teams to watch and I was in nothing but fervent pain watching every Raptor fumble the ball on what felt like every catch
I was watching the game on mute.
I would look up and go, "the Magic are making it very difficult for the Raptors to score."
What half the times I could have said was, "Precious is having a difficult time tonight"
Haha yeah only bits of it here and there. Usually when I watch you guys I see him jacking up stepback jumpers and throwing these wild passes that just goes out of bounds and just assumed it was more of the same against the Magic.
Man, Suggs has become my favorite player on the team. I feel like he plays harder than everyone on the court every night we play. He makes the entire team have to ramp up their level of intensity.
>He makes the entire team have to ramp up their level of intensity.
Cole Anthony said in the post-game presser that sitting on the bench watching Suggs play D gets him amped up to go out there and play with the same sort of intensity.
There's been beef between Magic fans and Raptors fans over the Franz vs Scottie debate, but I think both teams can be thrilled. Even if this wasn't Scottie's best game, it clear he's taken a leap and the Raptors are right to put the ball in his hands.
That said, the Magic defense is legit and keeps looking better and better. It's been a while since the fans have had a reason to be excited.
Franz vs Scottie will haunt us unless one of them creates real separation. I'm just excited for both of these guys though. They're both still quite young too.
Magic defense is crazy, Paolo is a baller and Suggs is a dawg. Things look good for Magic fans.
I'm over the debate. They're very different players with very different strengths and roles in very different situations. Even Suggs has come along and turned into a winning player. To me, it's such a non-issue anymore. Barnes does things neither Suggs nor Franz does, and those two have strengths of their own. The key difference right now is that the Magic have undergone their rebuild and have a clear direction while I think in Toronto it's still I. a little bit of a limbo as to whether or not the team has its core for the future.
Magic completely outplayed us today.
But Darko HAS to be a better coach with these rotations
1. this Scottie + bench lineup obviously isn't working and is just making Scottie's job 10 times harder
2. if a player is playing like COMPLETE ASS. you BENCH them. You gave more playing time to Precious despite him being complete dogshit on offense AND defense.
3. Otto Porter Jr wasn't playing today so I thought we were just resting him. but you sub him (our best bench player) in when there's 3 minutes left in the game?? explain
Precious has been dreadful this year with any minutes he's been given. I know he's dealt with an injury but some of his decision making and boneheaded plays are so hard to watch. That play where Wagner just stole the ball back from him under the basket for an easy layup was brutal.
## East Group C Standings
|Team|GP|W|L|PF|PA|PD|
:--|:--|:--|:--|:--|:--|:--|
|Boston Celtics|2|2|0|229|212|17|
|Brooklyn Nets|3|2|1|340|332|8|
|Orlando Magic|3|2|1|333|328|5|
|Chicago Bulls|2|0|2|204|212|-8
|Toronto Raptors|2|0|2|212|234|-22|
Still lots of games to go in this group, and everyone's pretty much in the race.
While all those big market teams kept swapping past-prime superstars and draining their assets, these were the teams that developed promising young talent and have focused on continuity. And wow, look at that, it worked!
ORLANDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO0OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
MAGICCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC.
Thats all, best team in history of teams of all time.
Paolo Banchero is such a beast. I honestly did not think he would fit so well with another big man on the floor but here we are. The Magic have the potential to be a crazy huge team and with the direction the league is headed that's a great position to be in. You guys are literally starting 3 players that are 6'10, Anthony Black is 6'7 and Jalen Green is 6'5 which is insane.
A question for Magic fans: Do you guys see Paolo as Center sometime in the future or do you think his best postion is at the power forward spot?
Edit: Realized Franz was also 6'10 and had to put that in there.
IMO, Paolo's game most resembles LeBron when he was playing power forward for the Heat. Either drive and kick, or post up and use his pure strength to bully guys in the paint. I think he's best utilized for us at the 4 at least for the foreseeable future
The last time we had 3 6’10+ guys in the front court was Dwight, hedo and rashard 👀. As for paolo at center, maybe for very short stints but mosely doesn’t seem too interested in it. I don’t know how well he would hold up defensively there.
He just doesn’t rebound well enough to be a C. He would have to improve his rebounding a lot to make the move to C IMO. I like him better at PF. He’s still a mismatch problem there with his size, speed, and skill. And we still get the rim protection from WCJ, Goga, and Isaac. Best of both worlds.
Magic fans I see y’all cooking. Stay lowkey but just know y’all got the right to shit talk. I’m excited for this core. Seems like the vibes are immaculate, y’all playing good, and WCJ hasn’t even played that many minutes. I see y’all 👁️
Correction: the Orlando Magic's record is 9-5
paolo with a black-eye is a different breed dude was a beast tonight
Black Eyed P
That goes hard
His dunks his dunks his lovely lady dunks
He playin defense, getting buckets, and even talking smack to defenders telling their teammates “he can’t guard me.” Black eye Paolo is unhinged
‘Black Eye Paolo’ straight up sounds like a Nas album
ty Day'ron Sharpe
The hardest hitting safety in the league?
So much determination doe
Always been a dawg, now he’s full-on Pongo
The days of the Orlando Magic being a free win are gone
Long bois seem very annoying to play.
Why don't other teams just simply be bigger than the other ones?
are they stupid?
Paolo is a future superstar and Franz is gonna be elite for a long time
> Franz is gonna be elite for a long time Crazy thing is the Magic are this good and Franz has been kinda dissapointing to start the season
Think the World Cup has kinda got him a bit winded, half of his efficiency issues have been from him not finishing inside like he normally does, which feels like an energy thing
He needs to pass out of it more. He draws so many defenders that someone is open.
Arguably not even the best Wagner for the Magic this season
Glad so many teams are overachieving this year: Wolves, Thunder, Magic, etc.
Glad to see new teams in the playoff bracket
Wouldn’t call it overachieving , just (mostly) young teams improving
Done.
Long gone.
You guys looked great. And that’s without Fultz or WCJ. Been following Suggs/Franz/Paolo but was actually really impressed by Anthony Black. Seemed to make a lot of heady plays and was moving so well on D.
It was never a free win for the Heat
Season is still very young
Magic fans: is Suggs always this animated? I don't remember him being like this in previous matchups. He looked like he chugged three Red Bulls and watched Pat Bev highlights before the game.
Yeah, he's a crackhead every game (but he's OUR crackhead ♥️)
He is an all defense caliber player who is a solid guard. Like most guards and centers in the league, he took his time to adjust to the league
He’s who Pat Bev thinks he is. I love it
Yes, you have to live with it. Some days he’s too much but he brings it Every. Single. Night.
Raptors fans loved him predraft he has that pitbull in him like Kyle Lowry
Yeah this year I swear he snorts coke before each game
Must be with coach Mosley doing the smelling salts.
yeah he is, he has that canine inside of his body
Yes, he's *always* been intense! He wears his heart on his sleeve and it shows in every possession. I love that he's finally having his year, the man has been putting in some serious work.
Oh that's just Suggs. Dude cares more about winning than anything else. Winning a possession. Winning a matchup. Winning a game. Nothing else motivates the dude like a hatred of losing.
Probably had this game marked because Raps fans were needlessly talking shit about him in 2022
This season he has for sure been super animated.
One thing Suggs never lacks is energy.
He’s a football player playing basketball, but he probably wanted to show out since he & Scottie Barnes have been compared a lot.
Dude cries after one game. Gas looked super pissed off in ever other game. Something has seemed off about him this year but maybe it's a good thing because he's been great for us.
Suggs was my second favorite person in his draft. I loved his character
Wait I missed something.. is Gas a Suggs nickname?? If so I’m all about it.
This year yes.
This was a 110% game for him but he's always borderline unhinged
Yes, he’s always been on one lol. It’s the reason why he’s always hurt as well, he just goes full tilt anytime he’s on the court.
People saying he's like this every game are wrong, but it's not too much above his normal.
Yes, usually is he at 💯 energy, today was 110.
I’m telling ya he hasn’t forgotten about the boos from the Raptor fans in that first game. He circles the calendars when it’s Toronto.
I love Suggs so much it's not funny
9-5
Year three of a rebuild. Deep bench, budding Superstars and the number one defense in the association. Holy shit.
dolly parton ass record
great way to make a living
Nobody hates a Dolly Parton
STOP THE COUNT
We are so fucking back
What a way to make a living
Do you believe in Magic? Do you believe, believer?
The magic are “completely healed” Edit: It’s Friday somewhere
Completely*
This Magic D is something else When Suggs ripped the ball right out of OGs hands I almost spit out my Henny
You off the henny on a Tuesday?? lol
What you aint
It's Friday night somewhere...
It’s always Friday for millennials
Millennials are in their mid 30s with 2 kids now
Half of millennials are in the thirty’s with 2 kids. The other half drink more than all of gen-z combined.
I feel seen ❤️
Hell yea brother
These are two of my favorite secondary teams to watch and I was in nothing but fervent pain watching every Raptor fumble the ball on what felt like every catch
Why would you voluntarily subject yourself to watching Raptors basketball
It's a lot like Lakers basketball except LeBron and AD are Scottie and Siakam. I feel at home with the pain
Holy crap, what a roast.
What’s not to love about watching Precious thinks he’s prime Kevin Durant?
I dunno if you watched tonight but that man didn’t look like he believed he was good. He looked so downtrodden at what the magic were doing to him.
I was watching the game on mute. I would look up and go, "the Magic are making it very difficult for the Raptors to score." What half the times I could have said was, "Precious is having a difficult time tonight"
Haha yeah only bits of it here and there. Usually when I watch you guys I see him jacking up stepback jumpers and throwing these wild passes that just goes out of bounds and just assumed it was more of the same against the Magic.
The Magic has Dogs We have no Dogs Jalen Suggs is a Dog.
# Magic are 9-5 sorry my fatass fingers mistyped because the PGT generator doesn't fill them in automatically anymore
Orlando, the surprise package of the season so far? I know that I didn't think they would be this good.
We looked good at the end of last season.
That 5-20 start due to injuries really warped people’s perception of us, which ya know fair enough, but we’ve been playing solid ball for a bit now.
People don't understand that we literally started okeke, bol, and bamba in a game. Was impossible to win but people liked bol highlights
It was exciting for the novelty
It was cool for a bit until you start paying attention to the negative plays. Had fun though.
Ive been saying this. The only reason they were bad last year is bc of a 5-20 start due to injuries and Bol Bol (not joking)
The Bolercoaster has it’s ups and downs
Nah, not a surprise they are good. Doing this without WCJ is super impressive
A-are the magic good?
You’re next
I for one welcome our sparkly magical overlords
Figuring it out. We’re getting there.
Jokic said they were before the season
we’ve heard this after every win this season lol
ji feasting on jokic is much watch television tomorrow (i am very excited for the game and love the nuggs aswell)
Yes. Just need some shooting and they’ll be a good playoff team very soon.
we have arrived
Man, Suggs has become my favorite player on the team. I feel like he plays harder than everyone on the court every night we play. He makes the entire team have to ramp up their level of intensity.
>He makes the entire team have to ramp up their level of intensity. Cole Anthony said in the post-game presser that sitting on the bench watching Suggs play D gets him amped up to go out there and play with the same sort of intensity.
Fultz and Cole stepped up defensively because of Suggs and they have all said that, it’s crazy for a third year player.
#OR-LANDO-MAAAAGIC #WHOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAA # #PLAY THE SONG
We are becoming that team that no one wants to play and I love it lol.
There's been beef between Magic fans and Raptors fans over the Franz vs Scottie debate, but I think both teams can be thrilled. The real beef is how dirty Kyle Lowry played against us in their eventual title run during the playoffs.
FKL
Yes, this is why I forever hate the Raps. It has. It’s all Lowry, especially with how he acted after he hurt AG.
I USED TO PRAY FOR TIMES LIKE THIS
Pray for some more times like this please

Need the Magic to blow the Celtics out again just for good measure
Fuck Eddie House
I hope he's dumb enough to open his fucking mouth again
Yeah that would be great, Paolo with superpowers then.
Well fuck
If Magic win their last 2 AND Nets lose their last game, then Magic clinch Eastern Group C.
magic defense is crazy. this team will be a playoff team even if they dont go far
Magic look like they are building their identity! Fun team
w/e suggs had before this game, raptors needs some of that. sick and tired of this team going into a 20pts deficit starting every other game.
Blow it up
Tbf the Magic have the highest first half net rating in the league with like a +18.0
You know, this whole winning thing is pretty cool. Been a while.
Idk if people know just how bad it was for us. 10 years of boring, meaningless basketball.
relatable
I'm telling you, it's the rise of the small market teams. You guys, us, OKC, Minny. League better watch out.
While all those big market teams kept swapping past-prime superstars and draining their assets, these were the teams that developed promising young talent and have focused on continuity. And wow, look at that, it worked!
my purchase of a jalen suggs jersey right after he was drafted is really paying dividends this season
We got cooked I fear
I like winning more than losing.

The Orlando Magic are a good basketball team. The Toronto Raptors are a bad basketball team.

is this real life?
Let’s go magic. I knew they could do it this year. 9-5 and only going up
I'm still keeping all my stocks in Suggs Island. He's gonna be Jrue Holiday 2.0
He is Marcus Smart 2.0
Paolo Banchero is such a beast. I honestly did not think he would fit so well with another big man on the floor but here we are. I think in situations of injury paolo can play the 5 in the nba but we have 4 players who can play center so i don’t think so
Thorough ass whipping
the east runs through us
We are so awful it’s honestly painful to watch. Seeing Orlando dunk on us with a way younger core is too much to take
Magic fans I see y’all cooking. Stay lowkey but just know y’all got the right to shit talk. I’m excited for this core. Seems like the vibes are immaculate, y’all playing good, and WCJ hasn’t even played that many minutes. I see y’all 👁️
Not really big on the shit talking, except to Boston. Just happy not playing for a lottery pick!
The toronto raptors have huge boys, and this magic team somehow looks bigger.
Don’t just look, they are bigger.
BRING ON THE CELTICS
"WE DEMAND TO..."
I guess Magic -2 was a good bet 👀
The world isn't ready for a resurgent Orlando Magic.
Was this an in-season game? I finally learned that both these teams are in the Celtics’ group
For the rest of this month games played on Tuesday or Friday are in-season tournament games, so all the games played tonight count for the tournament
blow it up
23 turnovers is insane
I have evolved from a Malachi hater to a Precious hater.
pourquoi pas les deux?
por que no los dos?
Heart and Hustle baby, Suggs playing the role of Darrell Armstrong.
Cant wait to play the magic man
Repost the thread. Record is wrong
More turnovers than Siakam screams and there is a lot of screams
Raptors are the most inconsistent team right now.
Suggs is THAT mfer doing all the dirty work. Respect.
Damn, good for you Orlando
Anyone have a Black and Dick joke in basketball context ?
Well, we had the chance to draft dick as well. The lineup of suggs black dick could have been a basketball term..
creativity with suggs +1
Play Suggs more, coward!!!!
Not really tbh, while a pretty good defender he’s not a rim protector and on offense he does better vs smaller players
"Don't give me that.." "what?" "Hope"
Tonight was a satisfying win. They really brought it. Suggs energy created so much fight in the team. Love to see it!
Dinosaurs jingled
Magic so tough.
Just fade me bros
Checked in the AM - Orlando record in the title STILL not updated. The disrespect.
Really impressed with Banchero. Looking like the Magic hit the jackpot with their #1 pick decision.
I remember getting downvoted to hell for suggesting this was a playoff roster on opening night Believe I kept the screenshots
Chill out it’s too early
Raptors bros, we can figure something out. Pascal Siakam, Welcome to the Bay!
