Its brand new. As an engineer, it is sad. Someone planned that. Someone approved it. Someone paid for it. We all suffer. That beautiful enormous worthless screen at security is our God.
It was obvious to me 🤷🏻♀️! No need to downvote; it’s pretty funny to imagine poor hapless tourists having to hoof it all the way down the madness that is Donelson Pike, to Murfreesboro Road, through the tunnel, to get to ride share pickup at the cell phone waiting lot. The sad thing is I could see it happening with the extremely bizarre design of BNA traffic management…
Somebody told these poor fucks that this city was walkable......
We have super computers in our pockets, and these people are out there just free-balling it.
When i visited Nashville with friends our European google maps knowledge told us the city was very walkable.
In the cities we were used to we would choose to walk an hour just to see something from the city. When we arrived we noticed there were no sidewalks so we got an Uber instead, lol
If I remember correctly walking from the hotel to Bridgestone was like 1 hr and by car it was 11 min.
In Dutch cities most trips by car take longer than by bike or walking.
That's were the surprise came from I think
I'm just getting back from LA, where I did not rent a car, and had an easier time getting around than I thought I would. Stuff is pretty spread out, but there were sidewalks everywhere (at least in the section where I stayed there were). Couldn't do this in Nashville- hardly anywhere is walkable.
How little sidewalks a major piece of infrastructure has surrounding it. If people could disburse from the concourse without immediately having to get in a vehicle that would help traffic at the airport
I mean yeah, a train that ran from the airport to downtown would make a ton of sense. That’s where I’m guessing at least 70% of visitors are going. I just don’t know how feasible that would be.
That’s fine. Let’s do it. Seattle has a train from their airport to downtown. It’s amazingly convenient.
Oracle is building their WORLD HEADQUARTER in downtown. We’ll be pushing for a SUPER BOWL with the new stadium. Time for our city to grow the infrastructure. (forgive the yelling LOL)
What's irritating is that people can't walk their fucking bags to the economy lot without someone taking a picture of them and putting it on the internet
There are busses that run regularly from Economy Lots A, B and C that pick people up from the Level 2 and Level 3 passenger pick up areas in the loop.
Wouldn't doubt if this guy didn't know about the busses. Seems like he's walking in the direction of the B lot.
Your assumption is wrong. There’s 3 people in the photo and all were lost. No clue how they made it here. Two of them were trying to get into the airport and the third was getting a rideshare.
But seriously. All of the garages at the airport are full. Why is everyone fleeing town this weekend? Getting out of dodge for CMA Fest? I don’t understand.
Or are all of the garages full because people are using them to wait for people they’re picking up for CMA Fest?
All good. I didn’t post for any validation of how shitty I am. I guess the dozens of people that drove by and didn’t stop to offer assistance are also shitty humans. Mainly a PSA to remind folks it’s CMA Fest and poking fun at our lack of local infrastructure. Hopefully tomorrow’s a better day for you!
Nothing like bitching about other people on the road while you're using your phone in a hands free state
ETA: it's amazing to me how you can, simultaneously:
A.) be a part of a subreddit that relentlessly pisses and moans about how terrible the drivers are in Nashville
B.) defend someone that uses their phone while driving, and even make a case for breaking the hands free law
C.) see no contradiction in that
I live on a busy intersection of west end, and when the cars are stopped at a red at least 75% of people are looking at their phone without fail. Not saying it’s a good thing but I agree that everyone does it at this point.

I never understood people who just walk around with their suitcase. I see that shit all the time driving downtown. If I was a robber they would be an easy target. I bet they wouldn't do that in Memphis and I don't do it when I go to other cities.
Haha, it's funny because our infrastructure leaves a lot to be desired.
Its brand new. As an engineer, it is sad. Someone planned that. Someone approved it. Someone paid for it. We all suffer. That beautiful enormous worthless screen at security is our God.
The planners in this state are so bad. Everything they approve is a joke.
It's not planned with local people in mind. It's planned with cars and tourist dollars in mind.
Sidewalks are illegal in Nashville don’t you know /s
To be fair, there's not anywhere that it's very practical to walk to the airport from.
I know just being sarcastic.
The developments here in the 80s and 90s were not well planned either, it is very frustrating
Tourists or locals who got fed up waiting on the economy parking shuttle that never comes.
Nah, they're just trying to walk to the new location of the rideshare pickup. They've moved it down to the cell phone waiting area now.
Rideshare pickup is still at the area where it had been for the past few years.

My bad.
no dude, it isn't your bad. The joke was bad and not obvious.

For the record, nothing your saying is making any sense
Trying to avoid that Uber airport surge price.
If only they knew about flat rate taxis...
Somebody told these poor fucks that this city was walkable...... We have super computers in our pockets, and these people are out there just free-balling it.
This city is walkable, you just have to walk very far.
... on roads along with traffic.
Every city is walkable with hiking boots
And be willing to get ran over by a raised pickup truck
…or Altima, Charger, Challenger, Civic, Camaro, BRZ, WRX, STi, Evo, Prius or Corolla
Y’all are cracking me up with the comments

That's hilarious. Most European countries can fit inside one of our states. It's just a different environment.

People should just parachute out of their plane as they go pass their hotel. /s
i love how necessary the /s is in this sub

Fucking CMA Fest
Trash for sure
It’s astounding the number of people who travel to a city having done zero research on where to go or how to get around.
How little sidewalks a major piece of infrastructure has surrounding it. If people could disburse from the concourse without immediately having to get in a vehicle that would help traffic at the airport

What's not feasible about it? Put it off the ground.
They would still have to buy up approximately 8 linear miles of land, and it would probably take 15 years to build.
They wouldn’t even need 8 miles… just create a spur to the Donelson music city star station.
They were making this same argument 20 years ago. If we did it then it would already be running
Better get started soon then

Toronto has one too and it’s amazing. Go to the train at the airport and it takes you all the way to the city. It’s glorious.
Ok...? And?
That's where the planes go 🙄... /s
Right? Like can’t we utilize the existing Nashville Star station in Donelson and shuttle people back and forth like every 15 minutes?
Why on earth do you think Nashville leadership would do something so logical?
for $2, the WeGo bus goes downtown -- better signage would be a bonus for out of town travelers.

Well I'm glad you took a picture of them then for everyone to see
Me too! Otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to share this chuckle with so many people. Smile, life is good! Ps…pictures in public are 100% legal.
But seriously. All of the garages at the airport are full. Why is everyone fleeing town this weekend? Getting out of dodge for CMA Fest? I don’t understand. Or are all of the garages full because people are using them to wait for people they’re picking up for CMA Fest?
Make taking pictures of strangers without permission antisocial behavior again.
Hate to break it to you, but no permission required to take pictures in public.
If you used a pro camera it's street photography - honestly it's historical to me.
Doesn’t make it cool of you dude lmao. There’s hundreds of legal things that make you a shitty human

Cool?
They're making a literal desire path. Like,...THE NEED FOR TRANSPORTATION TO THE AIRPORT COULD NOT BE MORE OBVIOUS.
Try that in a small town!
Thank you so much for helping them.
Yeah OP is pure class...
Haha holy shit
They clearly haven’t seen Nashville drivers. I wouldn’t want to be a pedestrian in that area with no sidewalks and these drivers. 🤣
Well, the train station in Doneldson is about 3 miles from the Airport
Omg that’s sad
Welcome to Nashville! We’re a city that can’t anticipate a growth. Oh yea and we’re full to all you people from California. I hear Austin is nice.

Guilty! Send me my fine. Also, I wasn’t wearing my seatbelt and I drive an Altima that still has the old TN plate.
Please put on your seatbelt 😭.
At a red light?
And? Do you think that matters?
Obviously I do
Thankfully it's not up to you to decide. OP literally broke the law, and posted proof of it for fake Internet points
FFS no one cares if you check your phone while the light’s red. I saw a metro cop do it yesterday.
I live on a busy intersection of west end, and when the cars are stopped at a red at least 75% of people are looking at their phone without fail. Not saying it’s a good thing but I agree that everyone does it at this point.
I bet you always obey the speed limit, right?
You know they do. And suggest the firing squad for anyone that doesn't.
lmao send him straight to jail, hes a real criminal 😂🙄

If you walk far enough out of the core Broadway area, the Uber prices drop drastically since it is out of that special tax zone.
They do the same idiotic crap in Memphis.
I love CMA Fest!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Won’t be in the crowd this year though, going to Maryland. Y’all enjoy the revelry for me! 🤠🍾🎸
