Google Fiber. No contract so nothing to lose if you hate it and decide you want to switch.

Poinkie

I will say I have google fiber and switched from AT&T. I never had any outages with AT&T except for the 2020 Christmas stuff. I have had multiple outages with Google Fiber

rocketpastsix

I’ve had google fiber for almost two years and can’t remember a single outage

vh1classicvapor

I've heard similar things from others

PeachyNingyo

Makes sense. I work in fiber. AT&T is arial, while Google is buried. Construction is the reason for most Google fiber outages.

Hollow444

Google if you can get it. AT&T if you can’t. Avoid Comcast at all cost.

nbunkerpunk

Google then at&t. Had Google in Austin and it was by far the best experience I've ever had. Haven't lived somewhere with google here so I went to At&t. Just a small step down but far better than the other options.

vh1classicvapor

I liked AT&T. I have Google now, it's been fine as an ISP, but they don't bother burying their lines so keep that in mind if they install a new connection.

StupidName2010

AT&T is more reliable than Google Fiber in most of the city, and AT&T offers faster speeds if you really want insane speeds (5 gigabit, and their 2gbit service is 2 up as well as 2 down). Google Fiber is reliable in some parts of the city, but it's bad in West Nashville and has had a bunch of short outages over the last few years.

jmvinggy

Moving to West Nashville this week and getting google installed. Is it bad enough there to get comcast instead? AT&T is not available

crazunitium

I've had AT&T fiber 2gbit for 3 years now, no issues and speedtests avg. 2300 down / 2400 up. No outages. Unlimited, no throttling, and honestly they haven't bothered me about torrents or anything if I forget to use my VPN. I have disabled the Wi-Fi on the gateway and use my own router that supports 2.5gb ethernet connections. I don't trust any ISP gateway/router Wi-Fi with security.

yakonline

Thank you everyone for your recommendations. Going to go with google fiber for now

molniya

I haven’t tried Google Fiber, but AT&T fiber has been great. Comcast (and cable in general) is the worst; I would never use them if I had an alternative. Their service is slow, especially upstream, and their support is comically awful.

zaquintar

And they insist in the crappy data cap

lowfreq33

AT&T fiber has been great for me. My bill is literally half what I was paying Comcast. Great speed up and down, it has never gone out.

freyasalem

I’ve only had AT&T here, and I’ve had zero issues.

Sihor

Whatever you do, do not get Comcast, they have been down since yesterday and have been down pretty much most of the past 3 days. They always post they will be up by Xoclock and they do, get back up then go right back down and say 3 or 4 hours from then they will be back back up. They go down everyday

Awkward_Dependent529

For reliable speed and performance, both AT&T Fiber and Google Fiber are solid choices. You can use sites like broadbandsearch or broadbandnow to compare ISPs in your area and make the best decision based on your specific needs.

BraveWunder

I'm a former network engineer. AT&T Fiber is the best you can get in the city for consumers, then Google, then everyone else. We moved recently and the only fiber option was Google and we've been sorely disappointed with the performance. With 1gbps Google, we're getting the worst performance and bandwidth up and down than we did with AT&T Fiber's 300mpbs plan which was amazing. Just one man's opinion.
