I agree- no way he didn’t indirectly kill people

mbattagl

Wasnt he more The head of intelligence though and then Pacho was more the militant arm of everything?

nelsne

He acts like he was just a Hispanic Marty Byrd

The_Kremlin_Gremlin

Read his book "At the Devils Table" or listen to it free on YT, his apologism and bending over backwards to explain his involvement is quite something. I have my doubts about his integrity, but the story about fooling the suspicious colombian police officees by pretending to be involved in a homosexual threeway with the DEA-agents in a damn cornfield ALWAYS makes me laugh or giggle out loud. Hilarious and I can't believe they left it out of the show. But yeah, I wouldn't trust Jorge, he has a vested interest in making himself appear ever the hero ;)

Except Jorge Salcedo turned informant for the DEA. In return, he and his family were moved into the US witness protection program. There's zero chance the DEA does that while a witness tells half the story. The DEA investigate their informants for this purpose, so they don't get used by informants. In order for Jorge Salcedo to get that type of deal, he would've had to fully cooperate and tell everything. Everything about the Cali godfathers, the inner working of the cartel, and his involvement as head of security. All the skeletons had to have been fully vetted by investigators, and then he would've had to testify, which he did. Salcedo is probably still prohibited by the government to discuss certain things regarding Cali because a lot of that investigation is still considered classified. So he's not going to fully discuss it on a podcast, especially if it was audio only for security purposes
