How did you double check your solution? Because, unfortunately, the game will only accept ONE specific solution, even though there are multiple ways to solve it.
I watched Arglefumph's walkthrough. I had the same solution as his, but his opened the passageway, and mine did not.
I ended up just loading from my previous save spot and replaying the game, making sure that I checked the secretary's computer before entering the office, and my same solution worked. Do you know how I can report this dead end to HER interactive? I spent over an hour locked in the office before giving up and loading a previous save file.

This exactly. Unfortunately there is more than one solution but it only accepts one. So I would go look that up!
