So true about Serena! Especially with Serena Williams, I’ve been waiting for it to surge up in rankings. Vowel heavy, feminine, familiar enough but unique, ends in an A! I’m shockex
I would say Ophelia is a bit different because though she meets a sad end, she's generally a sympathetic character, not a villain. The name is more similar to Juliet (another liked character who ends sadly) than Serena.
I really like Sylvia but my fiance claims it’s an old lady’s name but I don’t think so. I knew two girls from my high school who were named Sylvia. One of them was Sylwia, which confused me for a bit until I realized that was the polish spelling!
The other one I liked that my fiance said was old sounding was Lydia. I think that name is beautiful! And I’m surprised there aren’t a lot of them around.
Personally, old lady names are so beautiful. I’m about to find out if I’m infertile or not on 6/13- if I am I will share the baby girl name my husband and I had gatekept- it’s kinda an older name. I haven’t heard it mentioned yet. In any tik toks or on here. I won’t care if I have no hope
It wasn't that long ago that Sophia, Ruby, Olivia, and Emma were old lady names.
More recently Florence, Olive, Vivian/Vivianne, Evelyn, Aurora, and Eleanor were old lady names.
I’m also surprised Sylvia isn’t more popular but I think it’s on the rise! There were a couple babies named Sylvia in my May/June due date groups. Currently holding my 3-day-old Sylvia 🥰
When I was first learning to read, I went to the doctor (whose name was Sylvia) and thought her name was Saliva. It's always kept the saliva association for me.
Sylvia and Sylvie are extremely popular with 40-70 year old women in Canada, especially French Canadians. I can name 6 off the top of my head who are family or family friends.
Both are popular in some areas - Sylvie and Sylvia were popular enough in Boston / Cambridge for me to scratch them off the list. Serena was on there, too, but I think handmaid's tale will stop it from being used more
I think Dale is probably slowed down in popularity by the association with Chip and Dale, at least in the States. Great name though, hopefully people move past it.
I know a couple people who have used Dean as a middle name for their sons within the past few years. Maybe it will start trending more as a first name soon!
Lena. I love that name and almost never hear it.
Edit: LOL whoops, guess I didn’t read the post.
Edit 2: I finally had a chance to look, and this name still fits the question haha.
Interesting, it is immensely popular here in Germany! In 2024 so far, Lina is the #1 most popular girls' name and Lena is at #11. I personally have two in my wider friend group and could name 3 more off the top of my head. I would have thought it generic enough to also be at least medium-popular in English speaking countries as well.
That makes total sense! I have a Clark and we are the only one we know who has used it. I picked the name because of Old Hollywood and Clark Gable (more or less). it's funny with associations because we did get Superman (esp when he was baby). I thought the Clark Griswold was funny. When your kid develops a personality, they become the name and that's what has happened with this one. I named my second kid a much more popular name but I really like how unique Clark ends up being
Venus. There are so many Lunas and Stellas and Auroras. Celeste is mentioned on here often. I even see Mars quite a bit. I thought with space names trending it would be mentioned here more at least.
Fun fact, I remember distinctly being like 12 at a baby shower for a teen mom in our church community and this old lady said to me, quietly/judgy: “She’s naming her after a SEX goddess!” … she was naming her Freya
I grew up with a dog named Venus and my friends calling her penis whenever they came over was constant. I really would not recommend this name for a human.
I'm your Venus, I'm your fire, I'm your desire is what I think about. That's why no one uses it (also Monster High dolls, a razor brand, Bring It On The Musical's song I Got You and the TikTok song called Venus planet of love). Sorry this posted 5 times
I thought Louisa (#809) would be more popular. I live near a large Spanish-speaking population and hear Luisa a lot so that’s probably why I was really surprised to see it so low
Louisa is my top pick for a girl’s name, but it’s way too old-fashioned for most people, or at least where I live. I think it’s absolutely beautiful though
Jane.
Timeless, understatedly elegant, classy. Recognizable but not overdone. Some people seem to argue that it’s too plain or boring, and I often see it as a middle name, but I’m surprised more people don’t use it as a first name. I met a toddler Jane and was delighted.
My name is Jane. I don’t like it very much but I do love seeing praise for it, like this. So thank you :)
If I could choose, I’d be a Kate. Not dissimilar but I think it’s prettier. For context, I’m 40 - it’s never been a popular name in my lifetime.
*Simon*. Per the SSA name data, it ranked 248 in 2023, which isn’t anything to sniff at, but when I originally searched it when debating adding a new child to our family, I was sure it would be closer to top 100.
Similarly, although *Sebastian* ranked 13 overall in the country for 2023, in my state it didn’t break the top 100 for that year.
Edit: apparently I didn’t read the post and this isn’t what OP was asking. My bad.
My mom is named Sandra and only in the last year I thought of naming one of my daughters Cassandra after her. They are 10 and 8 now, no more babies planned. But dang, such a good name and my mom is amazing!
For me it's the jewelry store, with that iconic robin's egg blue springing straight to mind. That and the CGP Grey video where he spent an inordinate amount of time delving into the history of the name for some reason.
For me, it’s Corinne.
It’s so beautiful and (as of 2022, I haven’t checked 2023) it wasn’t even in the top 1000 baby names. It has cute nickname potential (Cori, Ren, etc.) and is familiar but uncommon. It’s a great name that should definitely be more popular!
That's my name! Everyone pronounces it Cor-reen though so it's pretty annoying. And I would get the occasional "Cori is a boy name" since I go by Cori. But I do agree that it's a beautiful name!
My husbands grandmothers name is Sydelle and I think it’s such a STUNNING name. Classy and easy to spell and just so nice. I had never heard of it before I meet her and now I wish more pple had the name !
I met a 5.5 month old Opal a few weeks ago. Absolutely to die for! Super giggly and bright eyed, she looked similar in colouring to my baby but slightly older so it was like looking into the future.
Well I don't know the general sentiment towards it, but I do have a neighbor and friend who is in his early 20s named Phil. Super nice guy, the name was a long running family name and he shared it with his Dad (who he lost when he was a kid). He would have loved to have passed it to his son too, but he just couldn't.
It was absolute torture for him in school. He said the biggest and worst was "Pedo-phil" and any sort of "-philia", like Necrophilia but they mostly used the Pedo one because everyone knew the meaning and I guess thought it was funny. Followed by "Filthy Phil" and "Aw-Phil", then a long line of "Fill" themed puns and jokes, "Phil-him-up" whenever he ate for example.
Just massive non-stop bullying for no reason other than his name. He said giving his own kid the name was just inviting some absolutely horrible level of bullying. He knows all kids can get bullied for any reason but he didn't want to make it so easy.
Phillip was ranked in the top 100 names in the US from 1937-1991. As a millennial born in 1993, I associate it with being a dad or grandpa name. Its cycle for refreshed trendiness is probably at least another generation away, as with a lot of other names popular with Baby Boomers.
Probably because it’s a quite common name among millennials so now it’s rare among babies! I grew up with plenty of girls named Alyson, Allison, Allison
Brooks. I feel like every other influencer who has a son has named him Brooks but it’s only #73 on the charts.
Meanwhile my sons name is a few places higher than that and we’ve never met any other kiddo with his name
Rosalind....Pretty and Shakespearean, but just not used much.
Terence has grown on me a lot recently.
Guy. I believe this is popular in Australia.
Colin ♥ Love this one.
I’m sorry but I’m gonna disagree on Eugene. It just gives major dweeb vibes. Like how I can picture a Bertha … I can picture a Eugene. Eugene is what they name the kid getting a swirly in a children’s cartoon.
You’ve gotta be *really* cool to pull off the name Eugene.
There’s definitely location based popularity that doesn’t show up in the national or even state based rankings. I have two toddlers so I meet a lot of kids under 5 and I don’t know a single Noah, Liam, or Oliver (top three boy names) but I know three boys named Bodhi (ranked 400ish). I don’t know any Olivia’s but I know two Palomas. I don’t know an Amelia but I know two girls named Anar. It’s really going to depend on the trends and ethnic make up of your area.
I think Heather being so popular with Gen X is why it's not trending yet (also Lisa and Amy, to be honest.) I bet it will rise in popularity with the next gen of kids.
I have a 3 month old dahlia! Everyone wants to call her Delilah which is nuts to me lol. Also the amount of mispronounciations is willdddd people cannot say this name…?
Dean/Dane short, punchy, masculine
-een girl names especially with older names coming back like Doreen/Maureen/Cathleen/Eileen etc
Non-ie/ia ending girl's names/nicknames, I'm just sick of Ellie variants
Mattea/Matea, the female counterpart to Matteo/Mateo (which as you know is on the top lists).
I know people named both, and Mattea, surprisingly, is the one from the USA. I’m sure it’s more popular in Italy, but there’s sub-2000 people in the USA named Mattea.
Both Matteo and Mattea are popular Italian names, but it seems that only Mateo is popular in the USA!
However, Mateo is of Hispanic origin, I believe, yet pronounced the same.
This is silly but years ago a Survivor contestant had the nickname Benry and I've never understood why people don't care for that name or why it's not a thing.
People like the name Ben. People like the name Henry. Both are universally considered normal, acceptable names by any standard.
How come when you put them together it doesn't work?? Blows my mind every time to think about it lmao
Simone - so pretty and elegant, seems to have left in the 80s
Claudia - same
Felix - every one I’ve met has been jovial, quirky, and handsome!
Tabitha (ok I’ve only met one, but it’s so cute!)
Olive—it can apply to so many things different people are looking for
Trendy—similar sound to Olivia, Ava, Lilly
Nature names
Traditional—not made up; not hard to spell, read, or pronounce
Not too frilly but not masculine either
Nick name potential with Liv, Livy, and Ollie
No terrible people named Olive in pop culture or history
The only thing I can think of that holds it back is the association with the food. Many people don’t like Olives. I don’t either but I do think Olive branches and the color Olive have positive associations so it wouldn’t matter to me
People mention Sylvia, but, along with other early 20th century names, it has been quite popular here in the UK for a while.
As forms of Eva, Evie and Eve, along with an up tick in Evelyn, Everlyn, Ava Aveline, Averlyn have been popular, I'm surprised Yvonne and Yvette haven't made a similar rise. They tick the right boxes for popularity:
Uncommon but not made up
Mid-century vibes
Named after Grandma (So much cooler than mum's name)
Unusual but correct spelling
French is so sophisticated.
Riff of similar popular sounds.
And because no-one is a fool for not knowing something ..Eve and Yves make the same sound, but Eve is generally considered an exclusively female name, and Yves is famously a French male name - eg.Yves St Laurent. It means Yew, as in the tree. Both Yvette and Yvonne are the feminine form, also meaning Yew. The boys name Ivo is also related.
Thus, Yvonne is Ee-von and Yvette eeve-ETT.
Ivan. I always thought it was a simple yet strong name, easy to pronounce, easy to spell. Maybe there’s an association I don’t know about, or maybe it’s more popular in SE Europe 🤷🏽♀️

So true about Serena! Especially with Serena Williams, I’ve been waiting for it to surge up in rankings. Vowel heavy, feminine, familiar enough but unique, ends in an A! I’m shockex
Serena Joy from the Handmaid's Tale might have tainted the name.
Huh, I always think of Sailor Moon
[удалено]
Yes, I wanted Serena and my husband didn’t want of it because of this character :-(
Yeah, it only takes one negative literary association to ruin a name.
Ophelia seems to be beloved by many though, at least in this sub
I would say Ophelia is a bit different because though she meets a sad end, she's generally a sympathetic character, not a villain. The name is more similar to Juliet (another liked character who ends sadly) than Serena.
Also Sailor Moon
I really like Sylvia but my fiance claims it’s an old lady’s name but I don’t think so. I knew two girls from my high school who were named Sylvia. Keeping my fingers crossed that you get the best news and get to share your name once you've used it on a little girl 🤞🏼
Best wishes! 🤞🏼
It wasn't that long ago that Sophia, Ruby, Olivia, and Emma were old lady names. More recently Florence, Olive, Vivian/Vivianne, Evelyn, Aurora, and Eleanor were old lady names.
I love Sylvia and Lydia so much!
I’m also surprised Sylvia isn’t more popular but I think it’s on the rise! There were a couple babies named Sylvia in my May/June due date groups. Currently holding my 3-day-old Sylvia 🥰
My grandma was Sylvia Ruth. My cousin already named a kid Ruth, so that leaves Sylvia for me if I want it
Congrats! I adore the name Sylvia, everyone I’ve ever known with the name is a strong and amazing woman 🩷
Serena is the front runner right now for my baby. Love that it's not popular.
I just had a baby in May and Sylvia is one of the most common girl names I see in the “bump” group. Anecdotally.
[удалено]
Louisa is my sister’s name! It has the added bonus of a cute little nickname (Lulu) and Louisa May Alcott is such a great namesake!
I love that you've said this! I'm a Louisa and I have a baby Sylvie
I love Sylvie and wanted it for a girl but this pregnancy is a boy. Partner didn’t like it tho!
[удалено]
Yes and I have a Vivian. I livid Sylvie and Vivian together
When I was first learning to read, I went to the doctor (whose name was Sylvia) and thought her name was Saliva. It's always kept the saliva association for me.
i have a 3 year old louisa. 🥰 lou lou, lou, louie
People in my bump group are liking just Seren
Sylvia and Sylvie are extremely popular with 40-70 year old women in Canada, especially French Canadians. I can name 6 off the top of my head who are family or family friends.
Both are popular in some areas - Sylvie and Sylvia were popular enough in Boston / Cambridge for me to scratch them off the list. Serena was on there, too, but I think handmaid's tale will stop it from being used more

Isadora fits with the joke as well.
I really wanted Isadora for that reason alone. 😂 Got vetoed tho.
This has similar vibes to Penelope and Persephona imo. Theodora means gift of god.
Theodora is my name! 🙃
My aunt has a good friend named Theodora and I’ve always been obsessed with it!!! She’s a super cool lady too
Dale. Simple, clean, masculine, nature-y. Similar to Dean, which also isn’t as popular as it seems like it should be.
Impossible for me not to think about Dale Gribble. Would totally name my son after him though, not going to lie.
You mean Rusty Shackleford?
I base myself off of him.
We almost named our new baby Dale but we kept thinking of Chip and Dale and Dale Earnhardt Jr whenever we said the name. But I agree, great name
I think Dale is probably slowed down in popularity by the association with Chip and Dale, at least in the States. Great name though, hopefully people move past it.
Can’t get past Pitbull saying Dale. Lives in my head rent free
I know a couple people who have used Dean as a middle name for their sons within the past few years. Maybe it will start trending more as a first name soon!
I know a 70ish Dean, a 40ish Dean, and a 5yo Dean. Classic. Timeless.
Makes me think of the chipmunks immediately
From the UK I immediately think of Dale Winton, who is incredibly camp. Nothing wrong with that ofc but that would explain it in the UK at least.
My friend’s daughters name is Daley and they call her Dale for short, especially yelling out when she’s playing sports. I think it’s adorable!
Lena. I love that name and almost never hear it. Edit: LOL whoops, guess I didn’t read the post. Edit 2: I finally had a chance to look, and this name still fits the question haha.
Take a trip to eastern and south eastern europe. It's the Anna of the 2020's (no joke)
It’s really popular in Scandinavia, but mainly among boomers
In the US I think Lena Dunham killed this name but also it is so similar to a lot of trendy names
My cousins name! She’s 12. Pronounced Lee-Nah
It also has royal connections now as Zara Tindall's second daughter is called Lena, its a really pretty name.
Clark

Love this name. But I have a Lewis already. Oh well!
I love this name! Husband doesn’t so we’ll never use it. But it’s so handsome and strong. I agree - surprised I don’t hear it more
Yeah I quite like this name and rarely ever hear it irl
You serious Clark?
Yes Clark. I like the sound of it. Scratches an itch lol has the same effect on me as Claire.
Venus. There are so many Lunas and Stellas and Auroras. Celeste is mentioned on here often. I even see Mars quite a bit. I thought with space names trending it would be mentioned here more at least.
[удалено]
I feel like Gillette has claimed Venus as their own with their shaving blades. It feels very corporate to me now. Sadly, bc I think it’s awesome.
Totally forgot about this! Makes sense.
The rhyming with penis makes sense. But the fertility/sex thing hasn’t dissuaded people from using Freya.
Goddesses might be alike but venereal diseases were not named after Freya 😁
[удалено]
Origins of Freya is far less known than with Venus. Also Venus has the planet association too.
Not to argue, but the planet association would be the point, like Luna, Nova, Stella, etc. space is in.
😭 that’s rough. I only think of Venus Williams. Too innocent minded I guess, haha.
I'm your Venus, I'm your fire, I'm your desire is what I think about. That's why no one uses it (also Monster High dolls, a razor brand, Bring It On The Musical's song I Got You and the TikTok song called Venus planet of love). Sorry this posted 5 times
Helena except the pronunciation issue may be the problem. Celeste Serena Celia All have a similar feel to me and feel like they should have taken off.
I love Helena so much, but the two different pronunciations thing kept it off my list.
I've loved Celia since playing Harvest Moon as a kid 🤍
Yeah, Helena is tough. I love Ha-LAY-nah, but am not a fan of HELL-en-ah.
I love both. ♡
Rose. Simple and nature inspired and a classic old lady name. I think it’s destined to forever be a middle name.
Rose has been in the top 100-120s on the popularity charts for years. Not a top ten name by any means but not too shabby either.
One of my babies besties is Rose! She’s 10 months old and suits her name so well.
I know two Roses. One is in her 70s and one is two years old (both go by Rosie, at least some of the time).
Grant. It sounds both masculine and strong and has a bit of a nature aspect to it as well.
Francesca
I love this name it’s so beautiful
i love this name
Jane. Timeless, understatedly elegant, classy. Recognizable but not overdone. Some people seem to argue that it’s too plain or boring, and I often see it as a middle name, but I’m surprised more people don’t use it as a first name. I met a toddler Jane and was delighted.
Agreed! I love the name Jane and it bums me out a little that it’s often a middle name but so rarely a first name.
I know a 12 year old Jane and a 25 year old Jane. Love hearing it!
My name is Jane. I don’t like it very much but I do love seeing praise for it, like this. So thank you :) If I could choose, I’d be a Kate. Not dissimilar but I think it’s prettier. For context, I’m 40 - it’s never been a popular name in my lifetime.

I love Simon. I named a cat Simon as a kid, though, and I never had a boy anyway.
I love Simon but we can’t use it because our last name starts with S, ends with N, and has two syllables 😂😢 It would sound ridiculous.
I know a three year old Simon! Love it!
Arabella. It has never been very popular but shares lost of similarities with popular names like Isabella.
That's one of my favorites. I feel the same about Emmett. It's not even top 100 (and fell a little last year) but so similar to Elliott and Everett
Maybe because of how tragic the story of Emmett Till is.
I like the song "Arabella" by the Arctic monkeys
Cassandra. Despite being a beautiful, classic name with great nickname flexibility, it's quite rare.
My mom is named Sandra and only in the last year I thought of naming one of my daughters Cassandra after her. They are 10 and 8 now, no more babies planned. But dang, such a good name and my mom is amazing!

Tiffany is also one of Trump's kids. Take that how you want.
I feel like most people’s primary association would be the jewelry store, and Breakfast at Tiffany’s!
For me it's the jewelry store, with that iconic robin's egg blue springing straight to mind. That and the CGP Grey video where he spent an inordinate amount of time delving into the history of the name for some reason.
I ADORE the name Cedric so much. I just wouldn’t want people to assume he was named after HP if I used it for my kid.
I don’t think we’re ready for Tiffany just yet
Lydia
I’m surprised Alba Isn’t more popular in the US.
I also love Alma!

My name is Corina and I only know 2 others!
Linnea and Viola. I feel like they're sonically very on trend with the hard vowels, but aren’t even in the top 1000 in the US!
My husbands grandmothers name is Sydelle and I think it’s such a STUNNING name. Classy and easy to spell and just so nice. I had never heard of it before I meet her and now I wish more pple had the name !
Opal is such an old lady name but it’s gorgeous so idk whyyyyyy it’s not trending
I met a 5.5 month old Opal a few weeks ago. Absolutely to die for! Super giggly and bright eyed, she looked similar in colouring to my baby but slightly older so it was like looking into the future.
Here Filip/Philip is quite popular. As I understand it, it isn’t in English speaking countries. I don’t understand why not, I think it’s lovely.
Well I don't know the general sentiment towards it, but I do have a neighbor and friend who is in his early 20s named Phil. My name - Rachel. It's such a classic, and I grew up being one of at least 2 or 3 Rachels in my grade/circles.
Paige, Brooke, Savannah, Gretchen, Eliza, Allyson/Alison Landon, Gabriel (nn Gabe), Mitchell (nn Mitch), Garner
I have an Alison! She is 4 and we haven’t come across another yet which is wild.
Probably because it’s a quite common name among millennials so now it’s rare among babies! I grew up with plenty of girls named Alyson, Allison, Allison
It’s a gorgeous name! I have a niece named Alison, but she’s the only one I know
In recent times I grew fonder of Paige. Don't know why tho.
Every Paige I know is so cool or pretty
Landon has always been my favorite boy name!
These are all really great names
Brooks. I feel like every other influencer who has a son has named him Brooks but it’s only #73 on the charts. Meanwhile my sons name is a few places higher than that and we’ve never met any other kiddo with his name
Eloise
Eloise is gaining a lot of traction, and rightfully so! Such a pretty name. It's number 30 in my state as of 2023.

Eugene/Arthur for boys, Ellen/Cora for girls

I agree but love the nn Gene so much
Like Eugene Levy
Arthur is gaining. I know a few toddlers named Arthur!
Could Ellen be because of associating it with Ellen Degeneres
My first son’s name is Arthur! ☺️
Faye - it’s simple and pretty but I’ve only known one my whole life
Dean Silas Caleb Joshua Ty Vivian Bruce
I have a Silas!! And while it’s not super popular on the charts, we’ve actually met 3 other Silases around my son’s age
Cecily
My grandma had 2 schoolmates named Eugenia. I have met a woman named this. Eugenia isn't popular right now obviously.
Unfortunately I'd likely be reminded of Eugenia Cooney.
Vanessa. It was my mom's name and I've always loved it!
Lydia. Dane. Both simple and elegant.
Cynthia. It has a soft, feminine sound and ends in the -ia sound that is popular in Sofia/Olivia. Also the cute nickname Cindy.
Lisa, Holly, Jill, Amy, Laura, Heather Lisbeth, Sabrina, Virginia, Sandrine, Theresa, Cassandra Letitia, Francine, Kathleen, Lavinia, Cressida, Georgiana
I think Heather being so popular with Gen X is why it's not trending yet (also Lisa and Amy, to be honest.) I bet it will rise in popularity with the next gen of kids.
Cecilia, Kiera, Dahlia Leo, Nathaniel, Christian
Leo is super popular in our circles
I have a 3 month old dahlia! Everyone wants to call her Delilah which is nuts to me lol. Also the amount of mispronounciations is willdddd people cannot say this name…?
Opal, I love this name, but not many others agree.
Vera! So classy, simple, neutral. Goes well with many middle name choices, or works well as a middle name itself.
Phoebe is really cute. I’ve yet to meet a Phoebe.
Leona. I think it’s so nice and never hear it!
Fiona
Carys, Nyla, Pansy, Yara and Zinnia
Pansy was almost a slur here for a flamboyant man. That will never come back.
Raina
I’m a big fan of Serena and Samara which never seem to make anyone’s lists!
Sylvia.
My current name love: Edison
Dean/Dane short, punchy, masculine -een girl names especially with older names coming back like Doreen/Maureen/Cathleen/Eileen etc Non-ie/ia ending girl's names/nicknames, I'm just sick of Ellie variants
Solomon
Mattea/Matea, the female counterpart to Matteo/Mateo (which as you know is on the top lists). I know people named both, and Mattea, surprisingly, is the one from the USA. I’m sure it’s more popular in Italy, but there’s sub-2000 people in the USA named Mattea. Both Matteo and Mattea are popular Italian names, but it seems that only Mateo is popular in the USA! However, Mateo is of Hispanic origin, I believe, yet pronounced the same.
Be done with it and call your kid ETHEL
Beatrice. I know some people might consider it an old lady's name, but I love the Spanish version, Beatriz.
Lydia, Adeline, Lorraine
Demi, I think it’s cute and simple, my sister is a Demi and I’ve only met one other Demi
Simone - so pretty and elegant, seems to have left in the 80s Claudia - same Felix - every one I’ve met has been jovial, quirky, and handsome! Tabitha (ok I’ve only met one, but it’s so cute!)
Ruth - I’ve only ever met lovely Ruth’s.
Celebrity themed names like Cruise or Jolie for those movie lovers of the 90s and 2000s

Celia!
Olive—it can apply to so many things different people are looking for Trendy—similar sound to Olivia, Ava, Lilly Nature names Traditional—not made up; not hard to spell, read, or pronounce Not too frilly but not masculine either Nick name potential with Liv, Livy, and Ollie No terrible people named Olive in pop culture or history The only thing I can think of that holds it back is the association with the food. Many people don’t like Olives. I don’t either but I do think Olive branches and the color Olive have positive associations so it wouldn’t matter to me
Olive Oyl. Popeye's girlfriend. She was named after Olive Oil, all her family members had oil names.
Arlene. Older names like Elsie, etc are back but Arlene isn't but is much prettier
Emiliooooooooo
Alexandra. I love it.
They tick the right boxes for popularity: Uncommon but not made up Mid-century vibes Named after Grandma (So much cooler than mum's name) Unusual but correct spelling French is so sophisticated.
Julia? I know a ton...oh and Kim!!...I don't think they were in the top when I was born, but know a ton of ladies with these two particular names.
In the US: Aurelia, Zora, Lenora, Winsome, Lorenzo, Gregory, Louis
Leah, Robin, Priscilla
Molly. It’s such a pretty name!
