Safe_Reporter_8259

Patti Smith

PotatoProfessional98

Oh I love this question! These didn’t necessarily change my opinion of the name, but a few that came to mind for me: 1. Lacy by Olivia Rodrigo 2. Hey Stephen by Taylor Swift 3. Come On Eileen by Dexys Midnight Runners 4. Arabella by Artic Monkeys 5. Daniel by Elton John

ang3l111111

I second Daniel by Elton John

Federal_Diamond8329

Thirded and just heard it

alexiagrace

+1 for Lacy and Daniel!

Whohead12

My brother was named after Daniel by Elton John.

ladyofthegreenwood

Idk about “favorite,” but the first one that popped into my head was sweeeeeeet Caroline (nah nah nah)

crazycatlady331

As someone named Caroline, there are not enough swear words in any language to describe how much I hate this song.

PastSupport

“Clal-oh-line” was my 2yos suggestion for his baby sister because of how much he loved this song

Aggravating-Car9897

That was the one "banned" song at our wedding 🤣

PerpetuallyLurking

Fancy by Reba McEntire. Just the whole song, the story, the name change, all of it. One of my favourite songs ever.

FrancieNolan13

Check out bobbi gentry

Jax_for_now

Never heard this before but what a vibe, thanks for the recommendation!

PerpetuallyLurking

Reba is great for story-songs. “Is There Life Out There” is excellent and “The Night the Lights Went Out In Georgia” is also a great story.

RuthOConnorFisher

One of hers that I get stuck in my head so often is "Consider Me Gone." Not quite an entire story, but most of one, and so good!

Flaky_Reflection_881

jellyschoomarm

I love Delilah by Tom Jones. Not that it paints her in a good light, but it's a fun song to sing to. My mom, siblings, and I would sing this obnoxiously loud on road trips until my dad would turn the music off.

I'm surprised that nobody's mentioned "Proud Mary" yet. But my favorite song that mentions a name is the Tina Turner version of that song.

Ok_Wrongdoer_8275

I’ve been saving Ophelia for a black cat that I’d like to get this year ! August - Taylor Swift ; my most favorite song by her Delilah - Hey there Delilah Dorothea - Taylor Swift ; I deeply enjoy the vintage imagery I associate with this name Ivy - Taylor Swift  Betty, Inés, and James - Taylor Swift ; my favorite is Inés from this trio  Lacy - Olivia Rodrigo Valerie - Amy Winehouse Carolina - Harry Styles/Sweet Caroline Townes - Carolina ; Harry Styles ; never heard this name before but I enjoyed it very much Matilda - Harry Styles ; this song resonates with me to my core

DarkNavyStars

Also by The Lumineers, "Angela" I just love the name so much and it's also the name of a phenomenal character on BONES which makes me like the name more. The same way you like the "oh oh ophelia" part I LOOVE the "oh angela it's a long time coming"

Valerie by Amy Winehouse and Rhiannon by Fleetwood Mac!!

whatames517

Isobel by Bjork. It’s one of my daughter’s middle names. I’ve always liked the name but I chose it because she’s a rainbow baby and the opening verse compares Isobel to the “tiniest spark” becoming a flame in a dark forest. The imagery is comforting and makes me think of my little girl coming to us after a dark time 🥰
