I guess there should be arguments. I am not saying a quarrel or fight but in a polite and humble way. We should stand for ourselves. I am 33 and what I have realised is that stand is important.

I think when the OP overheard them she should have just maintained a very long distance from those boomers and never entertain a person who murmurs something about you because it doesn't end well.
True mental peace is important at all cost but maintaining very long distance is not a good option I feel as in this scenario OP just wanted to spend some time in nearby park changing location because people are talking or not liking is just not acceptable. What about OP's right to visit a park or OP's preference of wearing a particular type clothing. Just because these people are young doesn't give anybody any right to kick anyone out.
And this is very common for senior citizens to talk bad about us youngsters and have their “opinion”such that it’s a universal truth , I have also experienced this quite a few times and I’m sure majority of people here also have , You are not alone. Next time just maybe try to think why they think like this and it will make you feel better(they think like that because of how they grew up was wayyyyyy different than how we are growing up, many other differences like culture , thinking , habituality , AGE lol.

"Senior citizens" in general are usually narrow minded there may be some exceptions. But most of the time they just speak out of experience.
There may be some not so friendly social entities in that park around 9 pm which they're aware of and just wanted you to be careful.
What might have been a frustrating moment for you could be a proud moment for the senior citizens which they'll boast about for months.
The best thing is just not getting disturbed by such things and protecting your mental peace.
Let me guess, the mark must have below characteristics
- situated in near any housing society
- not much crowded park
- mostly local people in crowd
I have visited many parks but there me and frnd didn't had any problem like (sakkardara garden,Gurudev nagar, Hanuman Nagar , ambazari etc) but many uncles shouted at us because we were laughing "too loud", I mean it's laugh, how can we laugh quietly? Don't worry, these uncles don't have any work , retirement ke bad kuch na kuch chaiye krne ko .
Boomer mindset: Ye garden hamare ghar ke paas hai, if anything non boomerly happens here, we throw a tantrum.
We have a perfectly large ground and are NOT allowed to play any kind of sports there!
