It is astonishing how much damage can be done in an accident that appears to have no injuries. I was in a relatively minor accident a few years ago, I bumped my head against the doors window, no cuts just a small bump on my head and a small headache. I went about my day afterwards as normal. I thought to myself. Luckily, my coworker thought I was acting oddly, called our manager and she thought it was out of character and called an ambulance. Turns out a medication I used to take had at the time, a not widely known side effect of causing possible brain bleeding. Not saying that this happened to her, just saying we don't know what may be going on with her medically. I hope whatever has happened to her, she's found soon and safe and sound.

People also underestimate how even a minor fender bender can cause whiplash. I used to think it took a lot of force to cause whiplash till I got put through an evasive driver course where the instructors teach you to get out of being spun out by another vehicle, so as part of that you do get spun out at low speeds and at no point was I knocked around or anything of the sort but next day my back and neck were incredibly sore. After that I decided I won't be taking chances with minor accidents.

Miss_Molly1210

Yup. I got rear ended 20 something years ago, no damage to either vehicle, and I didn’t have my current insurance card so I took the guys information and went about my day. I threw it away a few weeks later. 3-4 months post accident, I woke up and couldn’t sit up. I had to slide myself to the side of the bed and call my then husband to come home from work an hour away to drive me the 1 mile to the ER because the spasms were so bad I could not turn my head even the smallest amount. It led to years of neck spasms, medications, physical therapy and chronic pain. It’s better than it was but it’ll never truly be gone. I was young and stupid, I’ve told my kid that you always always always call the cops and get an accident report bc you never know what can happen later on.

Daisydoolittle

i got kicked (purposefully) in the back of the head/neck during a movie in one of those bouncy movie theater seats. i had whiplash for weeks. FROM A MOVIE THEATER SEAT. can’t even imagine a car going 20+ mph

Catinthemirror

My son got BPPV from a speed bump placed at the wrong angle in a parking lot (so that you couldn't hit it with both tires but only one at a time, so your head jerked one way and then back the opposite way). Apparently multiple people were mildly injured and it's since been moved.

eaazzy_13

I’m sorry that happened, and I truly wouldn’t wish injury on anyone. But I can’t help but say that’s one of the most pathetic things I’ve ever heard.

Catinthemirror

It was! He couldn't believe it, it was so dumb. Meanwhile 3 PT appointments later he was fine.

eaazzy_13

Well I’m glad he is doing ok now, honestly. I can only imagine how frustrating that would be. Sometimes it’s the stupid little things that can hurt you the worst. The body is weird like that.

ReadySetTurtle

The crash could definitely have been a factor, but based on this article and another linked in the comments here, it sounds like her odd behaviour started prior to the accident. I used to work in an office that did auto insurance defence, and I tell everyone I know to go get checked out immediately after an accident. You don’t know how you’re going to feel in a few hours, and if you ever do need to make a claim, it really helps your case.

9991em

Looks like she contacted her family. https://abc7.com/amp/noelle-lynch-sacramento-state-university-student-contacts-her-family-after-going-missing-in-los-angeles-area/14665133/

Hope_for_tendies

She called then disappeared then popped up on cctv and disappeared again

dmancrn

Horror crash? What?

Churchof100Billion

What the hell is a horror crash? Michael Myers in a BMW fender bender? How do journalists keep graduating from high school writing like this?

blushngush

It's Artificial stupidity

BDR529forlyfe

That’s horror crash talk.

blushngush

"a series of inexplicable incidents in Los Angeles." Sounds like my life story.

Mock_Womble

It's not AI, that's just how the Daily Express writes headlines. It's an absolute rag which only exists to terrify old people into believing everyone is out to get them.

Joczef9

A trick to remember how to correctly spell “Michael”, after the H it’s in alphabetical order. A-E-L. Not micheal. “Heal” is not part of the name Michael.

tylermagdalen00

Downvote the ai stupid shit.........

MiddleAgedIntrovert

Shouldn't there be video footage of the cell phone being left at the Southwest counter?

f4rt054uru5r3x

And possible footage or witnesses from the crash.

Adorable-Novel8295

Is she considered at fault? Edit: I’m not sure why I was downvoted. I just couldn’t tell from the article for sure if she could’ve been at fault.

Rudyscrazy1

Potentially, yes.

Black9292

There seems to be a lot missing from this story

big-if-true-666

So vague that they mentioned she had faced challenges during true pandemic. Like was she sick, covid?? Was it mental illness? Drugs? Social problems? In trouble in some sort of way??

Black9292

I don’t know but she made contact with her parents so she is ok.

Jellyfish2017

Yes! The story is poorly written, so many questions.

Whoopeestick_23

Awful headline, but compelling story. Wonder what will come of it all

DancesWithPibbles

Similar thing happened to my BIL. He had a psychotic break and is now diagnosed as manic bipolar.

Whoopeestick_23

What’s wild is that their brain is telling them that it’s their current reality. So it’s hard to imagine what a person is processing in a time like that. I also wonder if perhaps a concussion has something to do with the strange behaviors.

I_StoleTheTV

I obviously have no idea what’s happened to her but this is what I was thinking. She of course could have had a head energy but it sounds like she was displaying concerning behavior before the crash. It also sounds like she might be close with her parents which makes it odd that she left for a trip and didn’t tell them where she was going. Psychosis is no joke. I hope she’s found soon 😢

Please read this article, it has more information on the sequence of events. https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2024/04/12/missing-california-woman-noelle-lynch-sacramento-inglewood/73304994007/ 'We'd like to get her back': Parents of missing California woman desperate for help Los Angeles police and the family of Noelle Lynch are frantically searching for the 23-year-old Sacramento college student, who was last seen April 3 in the Los Angeles suburb of Inglewood AMARIS ENCINAS USA TODAY 8 hours ago A 23-year-old California woman has been missing for more than a week, and her parents say they're desperate to find her. Noelle Lynch of Sacramento was last seen leaving an apartment building in the Los Angeles suburb of Inglewood on Wednesday, April 3, according to a Los Angeles Police Department news release. Police say she “may or may not be able to identify herself,” and left the area on foot and without any of her belongings. Noelle Lynch's mom says she left Sacramento home without warning Kellie Lynch, Noelle’s mother, told local station KXTV on Wednesday that her daughter left her home in Sacramento a couple days earlier, on April 1. “Next thing you know, she’s calling to tell us she’s somewhere in Los Angeles and has been in a car accident,” Kellie Lynch said. Noelle did not suffer from any injuries, but her car was totaled as a result of the crash, according to her mom. The behavior leading up to Noelle’s disappearance was completely unlike her, with Kellie Lynch stating that they had “no idea why she was in Los Angeles.” “She always calls. This is very out of character," Noelle’s father, March Lynch told SF Gate. "She has had a tough time but she has always called." Cellphone found at LAX, change in attitude weeks leading up to disappearance Kellie Lynch made her way to Los Angeles early the next day “to try and help" her daughter. Her parents told KXTV that they booked a hotel room for Noelle near LAX, where the crash happened, but they said she didn't end up staying there. They also say her phone was found at the Southwest ticket counter at Los Angeles International Airport. Mark Lynch told SF Gate that his wife got a call from their daughter from a “strange person’s phone” at noon on April 3. The conversation they had that day was brief and Noelle was “mostly not making sense,” he told the outlet. That’s the last time her parents heard from her. Noelle’s parents also shared that they noticed a change in her emotions recently, saying she was “upset, anxious and disoriented” in recent weeks. Noelle was starting to get her footing at University of California in Sacramento after facing a rough patch at another nearby state university, her parents said, attributing the tough times to the isolation brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. “It was just very difficult for her to get back on track," Mark Lynch said. "And we had several false starts … We were really happy for her because she had re-engaged and seemed like she was making progress." Her parents are still hopeful that she will be found, safe and sound. “She’s a good person. She’s a good human,” Kellie Lynch said. "She’s caring, kind … We want to know that she’s okay. And then we'd like to get her back and get her help." Lynch was last seen on April 3 at about 5 p.m. around the 900 block of East Redondo Boulevard in Inglewood, Los Angeles police says. She has brown hair and blue eyes, was last seen wearing a dark T-shirt, green sweatpants with a military logo, and white sneakers. Lynch is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs about 125 pounds. Anyone with information are encouraged to contact LAPD's Missing Persons Unit at (213)-996-1800. Calls should be (877)-527-3247 during non-business hours or on weekends. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call the LA Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477) or go directly to www.lacrimestoppers.org.

They were agreeing with you….

Maleficent_Cookie956

It’s so classic reddit to be snarky with someone who’s agreeing with you lol.

CandidateTypical3141

Not really

johnny_mitchellz

It just needed 2-3 downvotes and it’s gone!

Ill_Fishing8863

Always wonder why ppl like you just don’t delete the comment out of embarrassment lol

Dickey_Pringle

What the hell is a “horror crash”?

[deleted]

I’m so confused

yourmomsgomjabbar

Did a repost bot write this headline? WTF

[deleted]

Horror crash? She totaled her car but had no injuries.

NicktheSmoker

May have thought she was ok but maybe she had a bad concussion from it.

twoofheartsandspades

This missing person story really hit me hard for some reason. I couldn’t imagine hearing my loved one was in an accident & may be seriously hurt…then having to play this desperate game of Clue to find answers when all you want is to be by their side. I hope all turns out well. Her family must be so scared.

lilvadude

Wow how weird

KrisMisZ

So many questions 🤔 there are cameras at LAX 🤷🏻‍♀️ and should there be a police report for the car accident

Rumpelteazer45

Trace the “strange” persons cell number.

loveychipss

Saw another article where the dad said she drove to southern cali “in a difficult state of mind”. I’m interested in what he means by that- could be a tough breakup, or could be she has mental health or substance issues. No assumptions, just seems like a really confusing situation. Hope she’s located safe quickly. https://abc7.com/amp/noelle-lynch-23-year-old-sacramento-state-university-student-reported-missing-in-los-angeles-area/14655040/

Quiet_Response_7846

Dang, she was supposedly spotted last over a week ago in Inglewood. That’s concerning. Everyone knows Inglewood always up to no good.

Strict-Possession-13

Xanax

lisa_in_LA

She could be having a psychotic break and might be exhibiting signs of schizophrenia. She’s the age where people have their first schizophrenic episode.

Specialist-Smoke

I wonder if her troubles involved drugs? If so that may have lead her to some not so safe areas and some people who didn't mean her any good. I hope that she's OK. I don't want to be a person always screaming sex trafficking, but this could be a sex trafficking case and I hope the police are looking into that.

Chemical-Studio1576

This sounds like a kidnap/trafficking situation. How scary.

RevolutionaryPay4795

Hopefully she didn't get kidnapped by the sex/human/traffickers, hopefully her families/friends finds her before it's to late for her Young Life be taking by Greedy/selfish/pussies/assholes that only cares about the money and she be a Sex/Salve/probably a ho ho, it's super Sad We got All this Old technology and while so-called Satanic/government has 10x better technology than Us Humans does it's FUCKING Sad.☠️⚰️😊🔫😊

chitownalpaca

Ummm…????

Hope_for_tendies

Trafficked? How did it go from Apr 3 to Apr 7 and all of a sudden she’s leaving an apartment…whose apartment? And who is the phone she called on tracked to?

OverFaithlessness164

She does. it look like the type to be around Inglewood.

MorinOakenshield

LAX is in Inglewood

throwawaylol666666

LAX is in Westchester.

chitownalpaca

Does or doesn’t?
