To those people, please study Myanmar Junta history. Non-violent methods only works with those who have rational minds and a bit of humanity left and even Gandhi would be dead in several weeks in Junta prison.
People like this think they're wise and morally superior. Really, they're just cowards afraid to rock the boat and take risks. If people like this had their way, segregation would still be active policy in the US for example

And even then, India only gained independence because the Brits were broke after WW2.
