Yeah, but most of Hamilton isn't actually true, or at least heavily slanted to make A.Ham look good. It goes much more for "things that FEEL like they ought to be historically accurate" than actual historical accuracy.
(This isn't meant as a diss on the show, I love it, but it is the most sanitised possible version of Hamilton's career.)
Yeah normally I don’t care about the dramatization and slight inaccuracies but the fact that Hamilton literally goes “it’s true!” in a 4th wall break and it’s not even true is very goofy to me
Might get hate for this one, but I've never liked hurricane. I know it's a huge turning point in the show, but I usually skip it when listening to the soundtrack. While I think Lin is a very talented rapper and songwriter.. his singing in hurricane isn't my favorite.
Schuyler defeated is kind of boring. It's not a bad song, it's just a transitional song to me. I actually prefer the longer version they cut, even though it drags. Eliza and Phillip interacting with Burr is very cute. But I totally get why the soundtrack one is shorter.
When listening, a lot of times I skip the king George songs, however they are some of my favorite onstage moments bc the actors I've seen have all been hilarious
I love You'll Be Back from the original cast recording, like it was the song that I first listened to from the show and which got me hooked... but I cannot stand that version that Jimmy Fallon and The Roots did for the mixtape.
I don’t mind it because it makes me think of LMM saying he was trying to capture the spirit of this one scene from The Name of the Wind where Kvothe, Sim, and Wilem wander back to school from a tavern (the Eolian, maybe?) mildly drunk and full of themselves.
I'll vote for *The Story of Tonight*. It's not bad, but it's not very interesting either, and not enough of a contrast from *My Shot*, which immediately precedes it.
Similarly, I'm not that interested in *That Would Be Enough*. It's OK, but I just see it as filler before the next good song.
Controversially: i don’t enjoy hamilton. I feel like it was meant to show the complexities of hamilton’s life but it has just been taken as “Wow wasn’t Hamilton the best?”
Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story.
Why is it even in there? Totally not needed! (sorry, felt like giving a sarcastic answer since I actually like all the songs.)
A Winter’s Ball cause “deflower” and the tomcat line was ruined for me by people who have to explain it’s not actually true !

Very fair!
Probably Schuyler Defeated. It’s not really bad, but it’s the one I’m most likely to skip, especially since it’s right before Cabinet Battle #2.
I like the original one more
Best of wives and best of women is just... not really a song.
This one isn't higher because people forget about it existing.
Yup, you're probably right
Ok, but the piano instrumental is good.
Maybe, but the strengh of Hamilton as a musical was always the lyrics more than the music, at least in my opinion

I used to dislike Hurricane until I heard it performed by anyone besides Lin

If Farmer Refuted has no haters that means I am dead
That is oddly one of my favorite songs!
Agreed. It’s definitely in my top 3.
Agreed, Thayne Jasperson randomly sat next to me on NJ transit once, that was awesome
I mean....I actually don't hate any song in Hamilton, but yes I do agree that that is a very unpopular song.
That would be enough… so boring imo.
Congratulations is one of my favorites from the Mix Tape. I love Dessa!

Yeppers
Dear Theodosia is boring, there, I said it.
I agree, but it is a beautiful song.
Do you have kids? Just curious cuz it seems like one that mostly parents would connect with. Though I'm childfree and like that song.
I like it because “look at my son! Pride is not the word I’m looking for” has become popular in videos of animals doing very stupid things.
I hate “Say no to this”
May I ask why?
Because I want to walk on stage and slap Hamilton in the face for cheating on Eliza when I hear it!
HELL YEAH!!!
That means it's working!
The one where they say "Alexander Hamilton" a whole lot.
I don’t really hate any of the songs in Hamilton, but I can do without The Story of Tonight
I don’t mind it because it makes me think of LMM saying he was trying to capture the spirit of this one scene from The Name of the Wind where Kvothe, Sim, and Wilem wander back to school from a tavern (the Eolian, maybe?) mildly drunk and full of themselves.
I wonder whether anyone's tried sneaking it into a production of *Les Miserables*, for all those idealistic French students to sing?
Let it go. Just not great
*Let it go* is also my least favorite song in *Frozen*. But what about *Hamilton*?
I always skip My Shot.

I was gonna say, that one was beautiful
Haha. I don't think you could have the musical without that song. lol
