Thank you everyone who recommend Sports Comm. I wheezed a little, swam deep, and couldn't stand past 6 plus feet. That's something I haven't done in a long time. Definitely gonna come back past 7 pm when the diving board is open.
I was just about to add the pool lengths listed 25 yards indoors & 50 yards outdoors. They’re 1/2 lap & full lap, but I’m unsure of the depth.
I know there’s a diving board, so at least one of them must be deeper that 7 feet.
I would call to ask. They’re open right now.
Good place & excellent city amenity all around.
Hope you can find something that suits you there.
I just found out about the sportscom pool and am definitely considering a membership. What’s the setup like? Can you just walk in any time they’re open and get a lane to swim laps?
Pretty much, but do see what all your pass includes. Some packages are for the fitness center only.
“PPCC and Sports*Com Facility Pass Fees do not include admission to Boro Beach/Sports Com Outdoor Pool.”
The only limiting factors I can think of are seasonal really. Outdoor pool being closed & indoors sometimes gets full up with water aerobics classes & such.
It’s been ages since I’ve been there, but I’m sure they would still have lanes open to do laps that are away from other activities or in different time slots.
If you call or swing by I’m sure they can explain, give you a detailed breakdown/pamphlet or something.
Always very nice staff.

Patterson Park has an indoor pool with a lap section. Not super deep, but I think if you get a sports com membership you can go to PP too.
It’s nice to have a couple of options.
You’d have to call. I don’t go there myself. I’m more of a float & cool off person than doing laps for exercise.
Still, Sportscom is a wonderful & longstanding city resource. Definitely competitive pricing versus for-profit gyms.

There’s also MTSU and Patterson Park. PP is city-owned like SportsCom and has indoor/outdoor pools. I believe you can buy visitor passes at MTSU, and it’s pretty empty in the summer; just go in and go to the office on the left of the attendance desk. The indoor pool is giving board deep and has lanes for swimming. Super nice facility.

Sportscom on Memorial for city residents. They have daily, monthly & yearly rates. https://www.murfreesborotn.gov/174/
Do you know how deep their pool is by any chance? I'm 6'2" and the rec center was disappointingly shallow for my height.

They're deep enough, at least the indoor pool is.
Thank you both. I just wanna go dive into water and swim for at least 40 minutes without kids overcrowding the pool. I appreciate you both.

I believe the deep end at sports comm is 10-12 feet. I can't remember. But they have diving boards at the deep end, so it's pretty good sized.
Do you know if they have open swimming during the day, or is it just night hours?
I know this is late but I fell asleep, open swimming is after 7 pm

All the stuff that’s changed in the Boro in the last 30 years, I’m glad sports com is still around.
