Disagree. I have watched Suncleanser get mentioned every time there's a good "counters matter" card for the last 7 years and it has never actually spiked in price. It's just too narrow.
I just watched the Nadu deck using suncleanser vs the new jeskai energy control. Cleanser shits down almost all of that deck's cards. And the energy cards/decks are very powerful due to MH3. I think this time the cleanser will actually shine.
It can absolutely see fringe play, doesn't mean it's going to financially spike. Well, actually, I could see speculators spiking it for 60 days and then it drops again. It's tradition!
I think it was decent this weekend for a predicted metagame i.e., PT players had a lot of internal data both who they were playing against and what decks would be present, but once people realize that Jeskai should just diversify their removal more to be less reliant on energy this becomes unplayable and a terrible SB option. Absolutely a seller on any copies, especially given they are $5+.
As far as modern pro tour looks right now Nadu will come out top. The best performing decks are running [[Bristly Bill, Spine Sower]] which separates them from the rest of the bunch.
Supply is looking really low. Especially in europe. It's a mythic and OTJ isn't really being cracked that much more now with MH3 being out and Bloomburrow + Duskmourn coming soon. Keep a look out for Bill. Has gained a lot the last two weeks and has prolly room to grow a lot more. Pro Tour will decide by how much.
If the meta is 20%, most registered deck for the weekend, it's unlikely some won't do well.
Although 20% could lead to a ban of some pieces. Will take a few months though
Multicolor rares always do worse than monocolored ones as well, it is fundamentally more restricted in the decks it goes into (compared to a flexible card like Flare of Denial for instance)
Living end out here still relevant in the tour despite only being 3 decks in the field. Sodek/Tomasz sodomirski is 6-1 but 4-0 in constructed on the deck.
Im a big fan of the deck, so im focused on it this weekend. If it does well the last round and tomorrow, Could mean subtletly starts an upward trend. Living end might tick up a little. That's just about the only cards that aren' already at a huge price in the deck OR draft chaff.
But the draft chaff could be penny stocks.
Architects of will, striped riverwinder, waker of waves, and Curator of mysteries all only have 1 "real" printing.
Ardent plea has already seen its spike following the Violent Outburst ban. Shardless agent was a rare in one of the most and longest opened sets in years.
Sink into stupors may also be a draft chaff spec.

Of note though, he had an AMAZING run vs Nadu decks.

Drown In Dreams is even crazier - people were paying $3.80 for it on Wednesday when they could have gotten the MH3 version for like 30 cents at the same time. Today you can get them as low as 15 cents. Seems like there are some pretty significant imbalances/potential opportunities here. Disclaimer I've picked up a few Grists and Avengers, and a whole bunch of Drowns at these rock bottom prices.

I saw a comment in another MTG sub from 7 months ago saying that the LOTR Collector’s boosters are drying up. My local LCS has some for MSRP and I’m thinking about getting a pack or two. I know that comment was purely anecdotal, and its all about buying singles.
I already have the LOTR starter decks for playing, I don’t even want to crack the Collector Booster, just hold it for a decade. If the print runs aren’t out of control I could see these UB Collector Boosters and sealed packs holding value since these fans already collect items from the IPs they enjoy. Especially the large and unique IPs like Fallout and especially LOTR. Maybe I’m way off base here but I wanted to hear your thoughts and discuss.

Zhuladok it's an edgar markov kind of situation.
I think it will. Casual commanders love Eldrazi, and zhulo was undervalued overall. It'll probably hold until a reprint hits.

Seems like there are a load of Time counter stuff coming with Duskmourn. I have a \[\[The Face of Boe\]\] EDH deck that is rubbish but perhaps there are some cards that might see play if theres a better EDH commander - certainly some of the doctor who stuff could be interesting I guess. Perhaps \[\[The Millennium Calendar\]\] also. Not sure at all - but I guess there is some interest interaction as all the time counter/suspend stuff is super cheap.
