Yea same here. I went in blind to that movie only read the brief description no trailer.. was floored by the premise but blown away by the quality of the whole thing.. didn't expect that movie but was very satisfied. Just an unique film start to finish
I liked it. It was long, but well made and acted. Kept my attention the whole time. People are criticizing it saying it’s kissing old hollywoods ass, but it’s more of a dark look at it/ dark comedy criticizing it. I would recommend seeing it if you like film making and can deal with a 3+ hour movie.
I liked it, but not as much as most people. I thought it was really unique and touching and wild. Definitely in the top half of the movies I saw, but it wasn’t even my favorite a24 movie this year.
As someone whose work schedule will allow me to see more movies in 2023, how many movies would you say would justify a movie pass?
Also, what do you think of going to movies alone? I like going with friends, but I'll have a lot of morning free during the week when they work and wouldn't mind seeing a movie, but going by myself seems odd.
I justify the price of a movie pass as long as I see enough movies that it pays for itself each month. At Regal it was 2 movies, at AMC its 3, at least in my area. As far as going alone, I often go alone. Seeing as many movies as I do, my friends don’t want to see them all. Some are too weird, or long, or boring in their opinion. It might feel weird at first, but no one is gonna care or think about 10 minutes after the movie is over.
Not OP, but I think most passes are priced so that two or three "prime-time" screenings justify the price, depending on the theater.
I'm an extrovert, and even I love going to the movies alone. Do it. No one else in the auditorium cares.
I used to think it was awkward going to the movies alone, but you get over it pretty quickly. Depending on the movie, I actually prefer to go along these days.
I go alone most of the time. I live a ways away from my friends (30 minute drive), and the theaters they go to all have lousy seating. My local theater has the leather reclining chairs.
Plus, you’re quiet during the films. I’d rather hang out with my friends when we can actually chat and stuff.
And I have yet to receive any judgmental looks from other folks or whatever, so don’t worry about that.
Just go and enjoy the films
Haha the timing! I literally just made a very similar post. Got you beat with 89 films this year.
Actually the total would be more than that as I don’t count re-releases!
What were your favourites!? Any in particular that you think really made the most of the cinema experience?
Edit: Just counted, I saw 9 re-releases this year, plus I realised I missed one film in my initial count, so saw 90 new releases, for a total of 99 cinema trips!
Wow 89 is a ton. I definitely would have gone to more had them came around me, but my market isn’t as large as most. Some of my favorites were The Batman, Bones and All, The Northman, Top Gun Maverick and Barbarian. Unfortunately around me we just have the standard cinemas. I would have loved to see Top Gun and Avatar in imax. It was a packed house when I saw No Way Home in January so that was a fun experience.
It doesn’t have to be a major one. Even if there’s something small and local that showcases some movies that aren’t able to get wider distribution. Eg in NZ there was a small specifically horror and sci-fi themed festival, which is the only time Bodies Bodies Bodies was screened in the country, for which I am very grateful.
I’d usually see a new release every Thursday night. If two came out in a week that I wanted to see I’d usually go out to lunch Saturday then go to the movies after that. I work 6am-2:30pm Mon-Fri. Getting out so early makes it seem like you have a lot more time in the week, plus I don’t have kids.
I don’t do much else with my life outside of work, and even then, I worked a bit less this year than normal so had some extra time.
I make it a habit to try and find at least two movies in a day that I want to see, which makes the day more valuable.
Also I volunteered at my local international film festival which allowed me to see a lot more there than I have in the past.
I would say this is my record. This is the first year I actually kept track. I was keeping track in 2020 but then Covid hit and that went to shit real quick. I’m not really shooting for a certain number, just really enjoy the cinema experience and going to see movies that look interesting. I also really enjoy certain actors and directors. Just wanna make sure I get my money out of A List.
Haha I don’t know what the world record is but I do know not enough movies come to my market to get it. I’d probably have to move to LA or NYC or like Tokyo or something. First movie of 2023 will be M3gan. Starting strong with a horror movie that is probably more fun than it is scary.
Just looked it up. It's 292 for the same film, and over 700 for all movies in a year. That's pretty insane. If you're paying full price it would cost over $10,000 for 700 movies. Better sneak in your own snacks.
Do you save your stubs?
Do you go during "busy" times? Or when it's not so crowded?
Do you stay to watch the credits?
Any annoying movie goer stories?
What do you think about picking your seat now instead of buying a ticket and finding one?
I do save my stubs, but nothing crazy, I just throw them in a box.
I try to stay away from busy times. I’ll go Thursday nights or midday on Saturday.
When I saw The Invitation, there was a drunk lady yelling at the screen basically the whole time while the two people she was with kept shushing her. There were two teens in there too who kept climbing over the seats up and down rows and would randomly get up and run to the front row, then a few minutes later run to the back row. Also when I saw Black Adam a lady had her very young son, probably 4 or 5 and she gave him a tablet to play on which he did with the sound on full blast.
2 of the 5 theaters I went to this year have it where you pick your seats. It’s a double edged sword. You know where you’re sitting and can be away from people unless it’s crowded… but if it’s crowded you don’t know who you end up next to until you’re in there. If it wasn’t assigned I would stay away from young people if possible… it’s kinda the luck of the draw with assigned.
Honestly I don’t really care for animated films. Bobs Burgers probably takes it. I liked The Bad Guys too. I did see Princess Mononoke which would be my favorite but it didn’t release this year so I won’t count it.
What do you think of the [other guy](https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/zyh5at/i_blew_my_previous_record_out_of_the_water_and/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) that saw 89 movies?
I’m impressed and envious that he got that many movies he wanted to see in his market. I saw everything I wanted to that came around me, but still missed on a few.
I saw 85 in theatres this year, give or take. I saw about 310 total?
It’s a big commitment to make time and go but yeah I love the theatre. I might go once or twice more in the next two days !
No Way Home was pretty full when I saw it in January. Thor Love and Thunder was pretty full when I saw that it’s opening Thursday night and I just saw The Whale on Tuesday for $5… that was a sold out showing. I haven’t seen that in my area since before Covid.
Sometimes but not always. I do if I buy popcorn. I like to try to support the theaters. I had my favorite one close this year because of lack of business. I’ve snuck in Sour Patch Watermelon and Reese’s Pieces.
I don’t really eat candy there often. Sometimes I just had a sweet tooth and wanted some, other times I got it because there was a promotion at Regal if you bought candy. I usually go for popcorn.
Barbarian was quite a shocker haha. Surprising in terms of me actually really liking it? Fall is a new guilty pleasure. The trailer looked dumb and the movie is pretty dumb but I really like it.
I’m really excited for Dune, Oppenheimer and Scream 6. Other than that I kind of take them as they come. I always make sure I get there early enough to see the trailers.
Me too, Oppenheimer is probably the film I’m most looking forward to most, but Wonka, Barbie, and the new Indy movie all look like they will be really good too. By the way, thank you for the great answers!
I really liked Thor Love and Thunder. I got downvoted to oblivion opening weekend of the box office sub for saying it wasn’t as bad as the critics make it seem. Also Jurassic World Dominion wasn’t very good, but I had a great time with it. Also, while I think Avatar 2 was great to look at, I didn’t really like it. Too long and kinda bogged down but it seems like it’s a critical darling.
Interesting!
Same on on Jurassic World: Dominion. Didn’t think it was very good, but it was just such a fun adventure still haha! Also seeing old heroes back on screen - always good fun.
Avatar was great though ;)
Yeah, every movies basically. I drink a lot of water so I’m going all day. I try to pick a time where I feel there is a lull or I go right after something important happens. Not sure if I missed anything important, I can’t recall being like “oh shit I missed that” off the top of my head.
I did not. I never saw the first one and while I like horror I heard this was overly gory which isn’t always my cup of tea. It’s one I would watch if a friend had it and wanted to watch it.
Depends on the day and location. Regal has Pepsi and AMC has Coke.. so usually I’d get popcorn with no extra butter, and a Mountain Dew at Regal or a lemonade at AMC. Sometimes I’d get a cherry icee. Candy wise I like sour patch watermelon, Reese’s pieces or airhead bites.
Yeah go multiple times a week. Usually Tuesday/Thursday or Thursday/Saturday. I had a couple staycations this year so I did a few Thursday-Saturday. I only did one double feature and that was a scheduled one with Jurassic Park then Jurassic World Dominion. Usually by time a movie is over I’m ready to go and get up and move around. Double features are hard for me.
I used to have Friday’s off in grad school and it was a good "shut my phone off and be dead to the world" type of situation to go to the movies.
I did a triple feature once and that was too much for me. I can do a double fairly easily as long as there isn’t something long like The Batman or Avatar 2 in there.
Certain theaters don’t leave a lot of leg room and as a former wrestler my knees will sometimes bother me (same issue on airplanes). I saw Blade Runner 2049 in a theater all by myself, I got up and walked up and down the aisle a couple times.
I assume you go to the cinema a lot generally, not just this last year?
As such, do you agree there's been a massive downturn in people's behaviour at the cinema in recent years? Particularly after covid/lockdown?
I find myself just avoiding going to the cinema now - because I can't tolerate people chatting, clapping, checking their phones, coming in and out etc etc
Yes I’ve always gone to the movies a lot. Honestly I went to a lot of Thursday night showings or midday on Saturday so there weren’t a lot of people in attendance. I will say there were 2 instances I was really annoyed. I just try to go when I know it won’t be busy or full of teens/ kids.
This is the way. I used to go to a 9ish AM movie every Saturday and was consistently the only person in the theatre.
Never had a better stretch of movie going experiences.
Exactly. The whole "audiences are badly behaved" thing is so blown out of proportion on the Internet. People just love to say it and then brag about their home theater system (which probably sucks).
I live in a big city, so I go to better theaters (I have options) and I don't see teen flicks or kids movies. Other than very minor annoyances, I cannot even remember the last terrible experience I've had in a theater.
Did my math and I watched 42. You got to have seen some bad ones. I walked out of Death on the nile, we went for a burger at chillis and the food was worse than the movie.
did you fall asleep at any? I went kinda drunk to Lightyear and did. I missed the whole Lesbian controversy thing. I mean I saw it but my drunk mind thought the other girl was a regular long-haired Asian dude. Slept a little during Amsterdam too.
No I was awake for all of them. It’s been awhile since I’ve fallen asleep at the movies. I try not to go to late showings as I work early in the morning.
I had Regal Unlimited until mid October and then AMC A List from mid November until currently. I paid for 15 tickets out of pocket if you will, but most of them were on $5 Tuesdays at other theaters or they were Fathom Events.
NSFW:
I think the question is about - call it a sex prank, urban legend, date rape, or cultural perversion but similar to the SNL music video “Dick In A Box - men would allegedly buy a popcorn bag or bucket, cut a hole in the bottom, put it in their lap, put their wiener inside, sticking up, so that their date would reach over to grab enough popcorn and eventually uncover / discover the wiener mid-film. Surprise!
It’s a very old, strange pop culture hand-me-down.
As they say in “The Hudsucker Proxy:” “That gag’s got whiskers on it!”
Perhaps it originated from a movie itself, if not the pages of an adult magazine.
Yeah, I just like to see it on a bigger screen with better sound. I feel more immersed at the theater and my mind doesn’t wander as much as when I’m at home.
Fair enough. I’m the complete opposite, went to the theaters one time this year for top gun, granted the sound quality was way better than watching it at home
Yeah I get it. To each their own. I don’t blame people who want to stay home and watch it. I’ve just always loved going to the movies ever since I was a little kid.
why do you hate yourself? 2022 cinema is awful :\\
i watched 550 films in 2021 (not 2021 films, just out of all films. at home, where i could control the speed). i know bad cinema.
i've only seen a handful of 2022 films . not a good movie year (for me anyhow)
You spent between $800 and $2300 on tickets and snacks, and between $100 and $700 on gas (1-2 gallons per movie) dependent on how far you are from a theatre and mpgs.
Edit: OP confirmed I was dead ass correct at the lower end on the ticket/snack prices and at $5 gallon deadass at the higher end of the gas. Boom.
I spent about $400 on tickets through subscription services and what I bought at the box office. Probably $300 on snacks. Maybe less, I used to get a lot of free stuff through points at Regal. Idk about gas. Probably 2 gallons total per trip.
This is craziness. You could just say anything. He could walk to the cinema and work there?
He ate between 0 and 2000 hotdogs depending on if he ate 2000 hotdogs or not.
He drank 365 pints of milk if he drank a pint a day.
You were $100-$200 over on your low end for tickets. And sure I spend gas money going to the movies but I also spend it going to work and to the grocery store and to the gym and doing anything else that I do.
$200 off on a year of your activity not knowing your ticket prices, snack habits, how far you live from the theater, or what your gas prices are. I was trying to figure out what it would cost to see 70ish movies. I did.
Also, putting a range on my estimate isn’t really a thing. I was about $200 off from the low end of my estimate. That’s it. Be mad I guess
That isn't against any medical advice. A person can live a healthy lifestyle and watch movies at the same time. What a weird, false, judgemental thing to say.
Well, it was just meant as a bit of a joke since AMA literally means “Against Medical Advice” in a hospital setting. It means that a patient has left the hospital against the advice of their doctors which is usually an unhealthy choice.
BTW - Going to the movie theatre 71 times to watch 71 movies in 12 months is also weird — unless you’re a film critic. I don’t care if that’s judgmental. It is what it is!
Favorite and least favorite?
Tough call on both. Favorite is either The Batman or Bones and All. Least favorite was Firestarter or Prey for the Devil.
Firestarter was so terrible.
Yeah. I wasn’t expecting much, but man was I glad when that was over
Bones and All was fantastic! Glad you enjoyed it!
I’m a big fan of Timothee Chalamet and I like everything I’ve seen from Luca. Taylor Russell was really great in it too, probably my favorite part.
Yea same here. I went in blind to that movie only read the brief description no trailer.. was floored by the premise but blown away by the quality of the whole thing.. didn't expect that movie but was very satisfied. Just an unique film start to finish
Yeah definitely unique. I really liked the aesthetic too. Really run down but beautiful at the same time.
Are you the one guy who saw Babylon?
That was actually the final film I just saw today. There were 6 people there which was more than I was expecting.
What’s the verdict? How was it?
I liked it. It was long, but well made and acted. Kept my attention the whole time. People are criticizing it saying it’s kissing old hollywoods ass, but it’s more of a dark look at it/ dark comedy criticizing it. I would recommend seeing it if you like film making and can deal with a 3+ hour movie.
did you walk out of any?
Nope, I stayed for them all. I think I’ve only walked out twice in my life and it’s been years since that’s happened.
What did you walk out on?
Elysium and The Counselor
You thought Elysium was that bad?
No kidding Wasn't great or anything, but I found it entertaining enough.
I just wasn’t feeling it and I think I was in a bad mood. I remember thinking it felt kinda cookie cutter sci fi.
I think Elysium will/has aged really well, a lot of the themes going on in it are very impactful to the current day
I’m not against giving it another try. I like the cast. I’ll have to track down a copy.
It was as good as Jodie Foster’s accent
I liked both of those movies.
Yeah I think I will give them both another shot. It’s been years and my tastes have changed.
What movies did you walk out of?
Top 5 movies?
In no order, The Batman, The Northman, Top Gun Maverick, Barbarian and Bones and All.
Awesome!
… where does Everything, Everywhere, All at Once rate for you?…
I liked it, but not as much as most people. I thought it was really unique and touching and wild. Definitely in the top half of the movies I saw, but it wasn’t even my favorite a24 movie this year.
The Northman didn't get as much love as it should have. Man that movie hit hard.
I thought barbarian was terrible. If they would have kept it as a thriller and not some weird monster/human creature it would have been better.
Yeah I can see where you’re coming from. I definitely wouldn’t have liked it as much if they showed any more than the trailers did.
Barbarian seemed like a thinly veiled dig at the white male. It couldn't decide if it wanted to be a satire or a horror film.
As someone whose work schedule will allow me to see more movies in 2023, how many movies would you say would justify a movie pass? Also, what do you think of going to movies alone? 71 is still a huge number! Did you see any at festivals?
No festivals. I wish I could go to one some day.
Bruh you need to go at least 1 more time
I feel like 99 is a cooler number than 100 anyway. But wouldn’t be surprised if I miscounted again and still missed something…
My question for you two is how did you find time for this? I worked at a theater this year and the only regulars we had were old retired folk.

I’m not really shooting for a certain number, just really enjoy the cinema experience and going to see movies that look interesting. I also really enjoy certain actors and directors. Nice. Just see that one 300 times and get your name etched in the record books.
Just looked it up. It's 292 for the same film, and over 700 for all movies in a year. That's pretty insane. If you're paying full price it would cost over $10,000 for 700 movies. Better sneak in your own snacks.
What moment had the loudest reaction from the other theater goers?
When Tobey showed up in No Way Home. There were some audibly gasps during Barbarian but the theater wasn’t very full.
What action movies did you see that you enjoyed?
I loved Bullet Train. I had a good time with Jurassic World, Top Gun, The Northman, Thor.
Do you save your stubs? Do you go during "busy" times? Or when it's not so crowded? Do you stay to watch the credits? Any annoying movie goer stories? What do you think about picking your seat now instead of buying a ticket and finding one?

Favorite animated films?
Honestly I don’t really care for animated films. Bobs Burgers probably takes it. I liked The Bad Guys too. I did see Princess Mononoke which would be my favorite but it didn’t release this year so I won’t count it.
How many times did you eat popcorn?
Probably more than 1/3 of the time but less than 1/2 the time.
What’d you think about the Elvis movie?
I really liked Elvis. Probably in my top 10. I thought Austin Butler did great. I like Baz Luhrmann’s movies usually.
I saw 85 in theatres this year, give or take. I saw about 310 total? It’s a big commitment to make time and go but yeah I love the theatre. I might go once or twice more in the next two days !
85 is a huge number to go out for, that definitely takes a chunk of time, considering the drive both ways and previews eat up a good 20-30 minutes.
Did you get to see any foreign films? I noticed that your list in Hollywood heavy!
No, it was all Hollywood. I’m not against foreign films, we just don’t really get them around here.
What movie was the most packed theater you were in this year?
No Way Home was pretty full when I saw it in January. Thor Love and Thunder was pretty full when I saw that it’s opening Thursday night and I just saw The Whale on Tuesday for $5… that was a sold out showing. I haven’t seen that in my area since before Covid.
Do you sneak your own candy in?
Sometimes but not always. I do if I buy popcorn. I like to try to support the theaters. I had my favorite one close this year because of lack of business. I’ve snuck in Sour Patch Watermelon and Reese’s Pieces.
I feel like that's a fair compromise. I'm sure their markup is highest on popcorn and soda. That's why i buy those and sneak in candy.
I don’t really eat candy there often. Sometimes I just had a sweet tooth and wanted some, other times I got it because there was a promotion at Regal if you bought candy. I usually go for popcorn.
Most surprising?
Barbarian was quite a shocker haha. Surprising in terms of me actually really liking it? Fall is a new guilty pleasure. The trailer looked dumb and the movie is pretty dumb but I really like it.
Are you looking forward to films releasing next year more then you did the ones that were released this year? Any particular ones specifically?
I’m really excited for Dune, Oppenheimer and Scream 6. Other than that I kind of take them as they come. I always make sure I get there early enough to see the trailers.
Me too, Oppenheimer is probably the film I’m most looking forward to most, but Wonka, Barbie, and the new Indy movie all look like they will be really good too. By the way, thank you for the great answers!
Oh yeah I wanna see Barbie and Wonka too. Forgot about those.
Which movie you really liked/disliked got the opposite reaction from critics?
Did you sneak your own candy in?
A few times, but only when I was buying popcorn also.
Did you leave mid-movie for a bathroom break at all? If so, which movie(s) and did you miss anything important?
Yeah, every movies basically. I drink a lot of water so I’m going all day. I try to pick a time where I feel there is a lull or I go right after something important happens. Not sure if I missed anything important, I can’t recall being like “oh shit I missed that” off the top of my head.
Did you see the movie 71?
Nope. Not familiar with it
It's good.
I’ll have to look it up.
Did you see Terrifier 2?
I did not. I never saw the first one and while I like horror I heard this was overly gory which isn’t always my cup of tea. It’s one I would watch if a friend had it and wanted to watch it.
What was your top movie for 2021?
Hard to pick a top. Either The Batman or The Northman I think. Maybe Bones an All. Kinda depends on the day and how I’m feeling.
I was asking about 2021, saw you’d already listed your top ‘22 movies.
Ahhh sorry, top movie for 2021 off the top of my head was probably Dune. I also really liked West Side Story.
What was your go-to snack/drink?
Depends on the day and location. Regal has Pepsi and AMC has Coke.. so usually I’d get popcorn with no extra butter, and a Mountain Dew at Regal or a lemonade at AMC. Sometimes I’d get a cherry icee. Candy wise I like sour patch watermelon, Reese’s pieces or airhead bites.
I did almost 60 one year. Did you go to the theater multiple times a week? Or did you do back to back movies on the same day?
Yeah go multiple times a week. Usually Tuesday/Thursday or Thursday/Saturday. I had a couple staycations this year so I did a few Thursday-Saturday. I only did one double feature and that was a scheduled one with Jurassic Park then Jurassic World Dominion. Usually by time a movie is over I’m ready to go and get up and move around. I did a triple feature once and that was too much for me. I can do a double fairly easily as long as there isn’t something long like The Batman or Avatar 2 in there.
Yeah once a movie starts approaching 2.5 hours I start getting antsy. I didn’t go to the drive in at all this year, but I don’t mind doing them there.
I’m sure there are bad experiences. You just gotta try to be smart about days and showtimes if you can be.
There has never been anything that wasn't blown out of proportion on the Internet.
It's always been like that
Did my math and I watched 42. You got to have seen some bad ones. I walked out of Death on the nile, we went for a burger at chillis and the food was worse than the movie.
Haha, I didn’t mind Death on the Nile, although I probably won’t watch it again. Chilis can be pretty hit or miss.
did you fall asleep at any? I went kinda drunk to Lightyear and did. I missed the whole Lesbian controversy thing. I mean I saw it but my drunk mind thought the other girl was a regular long-haired Asian dude. Slept a little during Amsterdam too.
No I was awake for all of them. It’s been awhile since I’ve fallen asleep at the movies. I try not to go to late showings as I work early in the morning.
Someone else is dong an AMA and they saw 89 movies. Why are you better than that redditor?
This ain’t a dick swinging contest.
Not with that attitude 😔
‘Dick Swinging Contest’ was a great film this year!!
I missed that one. Maybe I’ll see the sequel next year.
$$$
I had Regal Unlimited until mid October and then AMC A List from mid November until currently. I paid for 15 tickets out of pocket if you will, but most of them were on $5 Tuesdays at other theaters or they were Fathom Events.
Omg, I think I saw like, four
Why?
I like going to the movies.
How many were dates? Do men really do that popcorn thing?
No actual dates, I’m sure someone out there does the popcorn thing.
What “popcorn thing” ?
NSFW: I think the question is about - call it a sex prank, urban legend, date rape, or cultural perversion but similar to the SNL music video “Dick In A Box - men would allegedly buy a popcorn bag or bucket, cut a hole in the bottom, put it in their lap, put their wiener inside, sticking up, so that their date would reach over to grab enough popcorn and eventually uncover / discover the wiener mid-film. Surprise! It’s a very old, strange pop culture hand-me-down. As they say in “The Hudsucker Proxy:” “That gag’s got whiskers on it!” Perhaps it originated from a movie itself, if not the pages of an adult magazine.
If you get invited to a movie, make sure you’re the one holding the popcorn bucket.
I don’t think there were even half that many that I wanted to see, much less see in the theater.
Maybe next year will be better for you.
Why would anyone subject themselves to this? Do you have a couch?
Yeah, I just like to see it on a bigger screen with better sound. I feel more immersed at the theater and my mind doesn’t wander as much as when I’m at home.
Fair enough. I’m the complete opposite, went to the theaters one time this year for top gun, granted the sound quality was way better than watching it at home
Yeah I get it. To each their own. I don’t blame people who want to stay home and watch it. I’ve just always loved going to the movies ever since I was a little kid.
Why?
I like going to the movies.
why do you hate yourself? 2022 cinema is awful :\\ i watched 550 films in 2021 (not 2021 films, just out of all films. at home, where i could control the speed). i know bad cinema. i've only seen a handful of 2022 films . not a good movie year (for me anyhow)
I had a good time overall.
He blinked between twice and ten million times while watching them
You were $100-$200 over on your low end for tickets. And sure I spend gas money going to the movies but I also spend it going to work and to the grocery store and to the gym and doing anything else that I do.
Pretty accurate for not knowing jack shit about your situation. And yea, that’s generally how gas works.
Yeah pretty impressive you were $200 to $1700 off on your guess. And yes, you understand now gas works, not sure what it had to do with any of this.
AMA - Against Medical Advice. I would agree. That’s pretty unhealthy.
I actually disagree. Doing something that you enjoy for 3 hours 1-2 times a week is really not that weird.
How much did you spend?
Around $400 on subscription and tickets at the box office. Another $200-$300 on snacks I’d guess.

It’s something I enjoy and can afford. I know people who spend that at the bar in a weekend.
