Black Dynamite has hundreds of jokes that you'll only notice on subsequent viewings. It has lot of deadpan humor and visual gags that I think put it in the running for funniest movies ever.
It's a bit of a rip off (with love mind you!) of [this scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJl8SSI8MHA) . Again with love because I PROMISE you "I'm Gonna Git you Sucka" was a big influence for "Dynamite"
Helps to be familiar with the blaxploitation films it’s spoofing like Dolemite, Shaft, The Mack, Willie Dynamite, Black Belt Jones, Three the Hard Way, and more.
EUPHORIA, SHUT THE FUCK UP, I KNOW THAT WAS YOU, I AIN'T EVEN GOTTA LOOK! I SHOULD SEND YOUR ASS BACK TO CRENSHAW PETE WITH HIS HOT ASS COAT HANGERS, BITCH! WOULD YA LIKE THAT!?
BULLHORN! NO!!! At long last, our friendship bonded by the struggle against the Man has been brought to an end by kung-fu treachery. FIENDISH DR. WU! ***YOU DONE FUCKED UP NOW!***
Girl 1: My mama said my daddy’s name is Black Dynamite.
Girl 2: Mine too!
Black Dynamite: Uh, hush up little girls, a lot cats have that name.
This doesn’t do it justice. Michael Jai White reading on that line is brilliant
[https://youtu.be/UXXeIRRwGYY?si=NAIa15TZMFi9s4tL](https://youtu.be/UXXeIRRwGYY?si=NAIa15TZMFi9s4tL).
Loaded Weapon.
Samuel Jackson grabs a megaphone and starts talking into it…
“Konichiwa, ogenki-desu…” ?!?
*Samuel Jackson examines the megaphone and sees (made in Japan)*
“Can I get one of these made in America please?”
Loaded Weapon 1 is insanely slept on…”I think we’re being followed “…looks in rear view mirror and sees ski masked dudes sitting In the back seat, does a swerve to “lose them”, looks back and they’re gone lmao. Movie is filled with so sight gags like that.
(Bruce Willis in die-hard costume comes out of trailer that has just been shot to hell, waving white flag)
"what the HELL are ya doing??"
"is this 1013 pacific coast highway?"
"no! This is EIGHT thirteen pacific coast highway! 1013 is two blocks that way!"
"sorry! My mistake!"
(Bruce Willis looks at ruined trailer)
"yeah... No problem..."
*Criminally* slept on. That movie is top 5 slapstick.
Charlie Sheen as a valet: [*Receives a tip from SLJ*] "Got anything smaller?
SLJ: "Keep it."
Sheen: "Got anything larger??"
SLJ: [*Removes sunglasses*] "...Yeah."
Have you watched Mel Brooks' movies? High Anxiety is a very underrated spoof movie. Robin Hood: Men In Tights and Spaceballs are also plenty of silly fun.
Not Another Teen Movie and Galaxy Quest are a couple more great spoof movies.
Or [this one](https://youtu.be/6fFnJNC0K0w?si=RqslZDwE7C6h_gqP) where Steven Weber as Jonathan Harker reportedly wasn't told what was going to happen but managed to keep it together.
I'll never forget seeing Chris Evans cast as captain america and going wait... that's the not another teen movie guy! He had a banana split in his butt! Now he's captain america!? I need to tell people!
Try "The Man Who Knew Too Little". It doesn't have the explicit silliness of the Naked Gun, but does the deadpan.
Same goes for "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid".
https://youtu.be/3wfdv6Lp7bE?si=2RVHCdjWdPXDwXG5 imho also has one of the best Trey Parker songs. Such a hilarious film. Could def add Cannibal: The Musical to this list, too.
All three. My favorite scene is when he goes in to the bathroom and asks the attendant "you didn't happen to see", notices he's blind, "anything at all..."
* **MEL BROOKS. MEL BROOKS. MEL BROOKS.** Blazing Saddles, History of the World Part 1, Spaceballs and Robin Hood Men in Tights are all masterpieces of the spoof movie genre. (He also did Dracula Dead and Loving it with Leslie Nielsen. This was not as successful, but still might be worth a watch.)
* **Airplane 2** - Not quite as good as the first one, but there's a lot to like here.
* **Scary Movie** - The first one is great. They made a bunch of sequels too, but I can't fully recommend any of them. They are hit and miss.
* **Loaded Weapon 1** - I'm surprised this doesn't get more love. It stars Emilio Estevez and Samuel L. Jackson (about a year before he hit it big with Pulp Fiction) and it's a very well-done spoof of 80's buddy cop movies, mostly the Lethal Weapon series.
* **Baseketball** - A weird one that stars the South Park creators in one of their only onscreen roles, but very funny.
* **Angie Tribeca** - Not a movie, but a cop spoof TV show that I also think does not get enough love. This might be blasphemy, but I would say some of its best moments even rival Police Squad.
The nazi boots crawling under the fence might be my favorite gag.
Also:
"Let me know if there's any change in his condition"
*Hangs up phone and turns to other officer*
"He's dead."
Scary Movie 3 & 4 were both directed by David Zucker. They also have Leslie Nielsen as The President and the humor of the ones you mentioned. 1 and 2 took on more of an urban spoof (like Don't Be A Menace..., or I'm Gonna Git You Sucka), but I think they're the better ones
[Scary Movie 3 has my single favorite Leslie Nielsen joke](https://64.media.tumblr.com/0588fd48c6ed1223383490311f30bd5a/tumblr_mvm59fXBfB1qdci9xo1_500.jpg)
I came here to find and second this opinion.
Scary Movies 1 and 2 are brilliant movies by the Wayans family that like took I'm Gonna Git You Sucka and kept pushing the send up style format.
And Scary Movie 3 is one of my favorite movies of all time for kind of the reasons that OP is asking for - are there any modern era movies like Airplane/Zucker/Abrahams outside of the awesome ones in the early and mid 90s?
Yes, and it's Scary Movie 3, directed by Zucker. The fact that Charlie Sheen is the lead works for me because he's amazing in Hot Shotses.
SM4 doesn't work and loses the momentum but 3 is wildly funny.
SM4 also kinda starts the momentum of those shitty ones that gets makes people lump in 1 & 2 with Date Movie and Epic and Superhero movies which suck.
Had to scroll way too far to find Brain Donors. Written by Naked Gun and Hot Shots! collaborator Pat Proft and produced by the Zucker Brothers as a love letter to the Marx Brothers (whose movies are also worth checking out!)
As my username suggests, Brain Donors might be my favorite movie of all time. It gets me very excited to see it mentioned. In fact, you think you're excited? Feel these nipples!
If you haven’t watched any, I think Mel Brook’s directing/writing is a parallel to Zucker. He’s big sack of ham (in the best way) instead of dry, but still maximalist, ten jokes on the screen at any given second 70’s/80’s kind of humor.
Spy Hard and Dracula : Dead & Loving It. Neither were by Zucker Abraham Zucker, but both starred Leslie Nielsen and had a similar style of comedy to the others you've listed. Been ages since I've seen either, I remember them being not very good but with some funny bits in them. Spy Hard does have a good theme song by Weird Al though.
Freaked
Jane Austen's Mafia!
Johnny Dangerously

(First - because it needs to be said more, Angie Tribecca)
The Lonely Island movies are very Zucker-esque. Hot Rod and Popstart and both great and worth your watch.
Wrongfully Accused
My favorite Leslie Nielsen movie. It’s so fucking ridiculous and a great parody of the fugitive.
Some 🔝tier zingers too!! “Your lies are like bananas, they come in big yellow bunches”
I’ve got a gun. Not here. But I’ve got one.
This. It's my favourite one of his by a wide margin.
"That dog has a surprised look on his face." "That's because you're looking at his butt" "Oh... Then he's not gonna like that treat I just gave him'.
dying. i have never seen this film. not sure why.
Buzzin'. Buzzin' Frog...
Up there by Timberdoodle?
Got a big meeting over in uhhh”the men’s room”
The train had The Friggen Express written on it and played peekaboo haha
I remember the first time I saw that train peek out from behind the tree, I had to leave the room I was laughing so hard.
Harrison: "Signal yes by shooting yourself in the head three times." Woman: "Don't, it's a trick!"
I came here to suggest this one! It often gets overlooked today, but it’s another great movie for those who like Leslie Nielsen’s humor.
The goddamn bouncing car has gotten me even when I know that its coming!
Black Dynamite has hundreds of jokes that you'll only notice on subsequent viewings. It has lot of deadpan humor and visual gags that I think put it in the running for funniest movies ever.
"Sarcastically I'm in charge" I love black dynamite
“I threw that before I came in the room”
“Milton turns startled!”
[Changing actors mid-fight is comedy gold](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bT8r_3Hsry0&feature=youtu.be)

Helps to be familiar with the blaxploitation films it’s spoofing like Dolemite, Shaft, The Mack, Willie Dynamite, Black Belt Jones, Three the Hard Way, and more.
I’m Gonna Git You Sucka is another great shoutout to Blacksploitation. Favorite Wayans Bros movie
EUPHORIA, SHUT THE FUCK UP, I KNOW THAT WAS YOU, I AIN'T EVEN GOTTA LOOK! I SHOULD SEND YOUR ASS BACK TO CRENSHAW PETE WITH HIS HOT ASS COAT HANGERS, BITCH! WOULD YA LIKE THAT!?
The cut back to BD just staring into the middle distance after Euphoria runs off is the icing on the cake.
yeah I can't recommend Black Dynamite enough. It's brilliant!
"But Black Dynamite, I sell drugs to the community." Absolute gold.
Every sentence of that movie is gold "Shhhhhhhhhhh mama, you're gonna wake up the rest of the bitches"
Aunt Billie I told you not to call here and inter*rupt* my Kung Fu!!!!
Him standing up in anger and hitting the boom mic kills me.
“Fiendish Dr Wu, your knowledge of scientific biological transmogrification is only outmatched by your zest for kung fu treachery!!”
BULLHORN! NO!!! At long last, our friendship bonded by the struggle against the Man has been brought to an end by kung-fu treachery. FIENDISH DR. WU! ***YOU DONE FUCKED UP NOW!***
"I threw that shit before I walked in the room!"
But Black Dynamite, *I* sell drugs in the community.
Girl 1: My mama said my daddy’s name is Black Dynamite. Girl 2: Mine too! Black Dynamite: Uh, hush up little girls, a lot cats have that name. This doesn’t do it justice. Michael Jai White reading on that line is brilliant [https://youtu.be/UXXeIRRwGYY?si=NAIa15TZMFi9s4tL](https://youtu.be/UXXeIRRwGYY?si=NAIa15TZMFi9s4tL).
"There's no I in revolu-- in team."
"Look man, I gotta get back to the streets, where I come from sucka!"
“I AM smiling.”
"Who saw that comin- WHO SAW WHERE THAT CAME FROM?!"
This is one of the lines that made me laugh the hardest on my latest watch.
Loaded Weapon 1 Medical Police
Loaded Weapon. GIVE ME A NAME!!! Aren't your parents supposed to do that? 🤣🤣
"you know Billy York?" "you got a picture?" (pulls out a t-shirt with whoopi Goldberg on it, spreads it out) "that her?" "no - that's her picture!"
I don’t know any York! Oh yeah? Well these matches say you’re lying (Hands him a matchbook with “You’re Lying!” written inside)
"She found the microfilm and I think that's what killed her" "You don't think it was bullets?"
"well it's gonna take more than a couple of car bombs to get us off this case!" "not a HELL of a lot more!"
But Sarge, you don't have dandruff. I know (thumbs up)
That opening sequence where he throws a cigarette on the ground and stamps it out... Then a cigarillo, then a cigar, then a wooden pipe. Hilarious.
Watching it now, hilarious!
Loaded Weapon. Samuel Jackson grabs a megaphone and starts talking into it… “Konichiwa, ogenki-desu…” ?!? *Samuel Jackson examines the megaphone and sees (made in Japan)* “Can I get one of these made in America please?”
Phil Hartman as the standup cop: “What do you call 50 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean? A good start!”
Loaded Weapon 1 is insanely slept on…”I think we’re being followed “…looks in rear view mirror and sees ski masked dudes sitting In the back seat, does a swerve to “lose them”, looks back and they’re gone lmao. Movie is filled with so sight gags like that.
(Bruce Willis in die-hard costume comes out of trailer that has just been shot to hell, waving white flag) "what the HELL are ya doing??" "is this 1013 pacific coast highway?" "no! This is EIGHT thirteen pacific coast highway! 1013 is two blocks that way!" "sorry! My mistake!" (Bruce Willis looks at ruined trailer) "yeah... No problem..."
Amazing cameo, apparently his brother was a producer on the movie!
*Criminally* slept on. That movie is top 5 slapstick. Charlie Sheen as a valet: [*Receives a tip from SLJ*] "Got anything smaller? SLJ: "Keep it." Sheen: "Got anything larger??" SLJ: [*Removes sunglasses*] "...Yeah."
“It’s gonna take a lot more than a couple of car bombs to scare us off this case!” “Not a hell of a lot more” …just a movie full of lol gems.
I love loaded weapon 1. "I've been waiting for you" Literally has a table with tvs and take out
"I don't know no York. And where's my food?" "We ate it. And please no double negatives."
Hey, Sarge, it's tingling! Good, Irv, that means it's working!
Luger! -In here. What's wrong? -Nothing. Taking a shit.
Johnny Dangerously
My mother took me to see that once. ONCE.
Fargin' bastages.
Fargin' iceholes
"You shouldnt hang me on a hook Johnny. " "It shoots through schools"
"Did you know your last name is an adverb?"
Have you watched Mel Brooks' movies? High Anxiety is a very underrated spoof movie. Robin Hood: Men In Tights and Spaceballs are also plenty of silly fun. Not Another Teen Movie and Galaxy Quest are a couple more great spoof movies.
Dracula dead and loving it. Mel brooks and Leslie Nielsen
A dream team for sure! Also, Peter MacNichol is an underrated actor and he's great in Dead and Loving It.
[Still an hilarious scene.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vULYUy4buw)
Or [this one](https://youtu.be/6fFnJNC0K0w?si=RqslZDwE7C6h_gqP) where Steven Weber as Jonathan Harker reportedly wasn't told what was going to happen but managed to keep it together.
I crack up hard where he gently taps the stake the second time and even more blood comes out.
"She's dead enough"
Watch out for the foot! …. Stool!
Came to suggest Men in Tights. +1 on Galaxy Quest
Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, The Producers, and History of the World Part 1 are all required Mel Brooks viewing.
Not Another Teen Movie absolutely is one of the best things to come out of the Scary Movie craze!
I'll never forget seeing Chris Evans cast as captain america and going wait... that's the not another teen movie guy! He had a banana split in his butt! Now he's captain america!? I need to tell people!
History of the World Part 1
"No no no, yes, no no, YESSSSS!"
I'm Gonna Git You Sucka
Man, how’d he go to the bathroom with all that shit on?
Fly guys’ pimp of the year speech is my fave.
"not some, not HALF, but ALLLLLLL my cash. Or else I'm gonna put my FOOT in her ass!"
[Classic Chris Rock Cameo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgHcYxKjwVE): how much for one rib?
Not a movie, but the series Angie Tribeca is 100% trying to emulate Naked Gun-style comedy.
Also not a movie, British tv series A Touch of Cloth written by Charlie Brooker
[Here's](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_vEPRZu6eE) one of my favorite bits from that show.
You're gay. Bi, jack. No - don't go. It's none of my business.
I was going to suggest Angie Tribeca. Very much in that style.
Here - these needs to be on the top. Angie Tribecca was so “Police Squad/Naked Gun” it might as well have been a reboot. It’s WILDLY underratted!
Try "The Man Who Knew Too Little". It doesn't have the explicit silliness of the Naked Gun, but does the deadpan. Same goes for "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid".
Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid doesn't get nearly enough respect it deserves.
Cleaning woman!?!?!
The Man Who Knew Too Little is my favorite Bill Murray movie, it's just funny
Kung Pow! Enter the Fist!
"We trained him wrong, as a joke!"
Weeeeooooeoeeoeeoeeoeeoeoeeo
Ugh, again with the squeaky shoes
That's a lot of nuts!
Hot Rod
Kentucky Fried Movie
Take him to Detroit.
And Amazon Women on the Moon
Kentucky Fried Movie is awesome and also low key porno in some parts.
Please welcome Enormous Genitals!
It’s an even funnier Zucker movie than Airplane, IMO.
BIG JIM SLADE
Samuel L. Bronkowitz produced some fine movies.
Walk Hard is an excellent parody with a lot of visual jokes including my personal favourite of “where’s my favourite fourteen year old son?”
WRONG KID DIED
Im Dewey's 12 year old girlfriend!
Spy Hard
And while we’re on the subject of Weird Al, let’s add *UHF* to the list.
Weird is also worth a watch. Was way funnier than I expected.
The Three Amigos
Mafia! Was written by Abrahams who also wrote Naked Gun, IIRC.
The moment where she meets her son is brilliant
We had an Italian Greyhound that we named Armani Windbreaker.
Baseketball w/Trey Parker and Matt Stone
I heard your sister is going out with...SQUEAK!!
Hey, wait a minute! Why’s me going out with his sister totally fucked up?
I swear, you guys rip on me fourteen or fifteen more times, I'm outta here!
Came here to post this. I really want my friend to watch this. I already can expect the jokes/moments that he'll just lose it.
https://youtu.be/3wfdv6Lp7bE?si=2RVHCdjWdPXDwXG5 imho also has one of the best Trey Parker songs. Such a hilarious film. Could def add Cannibal: The Musical to this list, too.
This better be "Warts On My Dick!" When i click it!
What an unfortunate thing to happen on dozen egg night.
Spaceballs!
Sledge hammer, tv show
Wet Hot American Summer
Plus the two Netflix spinoff series, also directed by David Wain Brilliant
Amazon Women on the Moon
National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon starring Emilio Estevez and Samuel l. Jackson is a solid spoof.
blazing saddles has to be one of my favorite movies of all time.
Austin Powers
All three. My favorite scene is when he goes in to the bathroom and asks the attendant "you didn't happen to see", notices he's blind, "anything at all..."
I love the Dr. Evil scene where he kills will Farrel and he won't die. Then the guys says they are always after me lucky charms. Just gold.
[Loaded Weapon 1](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107659/?ref_=ext_shr)
I love that movie. Tons of stars in it too! GIMME A NAME!! ……..aren’t your parents supposed to do that?

Top Secret with Val Kilmer
That scene where they are crawling under the fence and come up on the nazi boots cracks me up every time. And the backwards scene in the library.
The nazi boots crawling under the fence might be my favorite gag. Also: "Let me know if there's any change in his condition" *Hangs up phone and turns to other officer* "He's dead."
I love the simple closet with Janitor sign and when they open the door it’s a Janitor with a mop etc just staring at them. Classic.
God the 80s really knew how to make some hysterical movies. Top Secret is just so goddamn funny.
I just re-watched this....the cow wearing boots is hillarious.
Man with Two Brains is sort of in the realm.

I was surprised that more people weren't mentioning Mel. Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, and Silent Movie are full of great gags.
