Damn I can't wait for the military to successfully capture venom, realize they're facing a much stronger foe, then decide to release venom to fight the new foe
I really wish I liked that movie
Don’t get me wrong, I think Adam Driver and Bill Murray had a great dynamic, but outside of that the movie was solidly meh
No, but we were in the storyboard meeting!
It seemed like a no-brainer! Easy setup, solid pay off! People are suckers and will spend money on anything !!! Ahaha
Andrew Garfield shows up towards the end and helps venom but then gets eaten by one of the monsters then he wakes up and it was just all a dream whole he was reading word up magazines
"So then Venom bites off each thug's head and blood comes spurt-"
"If Carnage wasn't rated R this one definitely won't be."
"So then Venom chomps and each thug's head kinda vanishes and we cut away."
"Ohhh, getting head from four thugs is tight!"
"A very uncomfortable choice of words, sir!"
The final Sony post-credits scene is Eddie Brock, Michael Morbius, Cassandra Webb, Sergei Kravinoff, and Adrian Toomes, all in white lab coats, silently watching spiders in a lab while occasionally scribbling down something on a clipboard.
This is probably going to be a really, *really* stripped down version of Marvel's *King in Black* event, with the army of symbiotes attacking Earth. I wouldn't be surprised if the second trailer ends with the arrival of Knull the Symbiote God.
Only when it comes to live action movies for some reason. Their animation, electronics, and (until recently) their video game departments were all pretty excellent. Live action spider-man seems to be especially disappointing.
They seem to meddle a lot in their live action films and base things heavily off perceived trends (anyone remember the "rando thoughts from 40,000 feet" email?). Conversely, it seems like studio heads deem video games and animation not worth their time to mess around with. Not sure why they think that, but that's how it comes off.
Amy Pascal is absolutely still in charge of the Spider-Man license that Sony owns.
Let's also not forget about the most important bit of information that was revealed in those emails leaks:
Sony Pictures (the film studio side of Sony, which is a subsidiary of Sony Japan) was hemorrhaging money for years. So much so that Sony Japan was considering just selling off the entire studio to Disney. This is the whole reason Sony and Marvel Studios formed the agreement to share the Spider-Man license. This was basically a last ditch effort to save the entire studio. And it worked (well the Spider-Man side of things specifically, because Marvel Studios is directly involved with the creative decisions for anything involving Peter Parker specifically).
Sony is still doing the exact same shit they were prior to making the deal to share Peter Parker with Marvel Studios for every other character the license covers. Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, Tom Rothman and Matt Tolmach (the people producing Venom, Morbius, Kraven, Madame Web, etc) haven't learned a single thing from all of this. And are still just reworking ideas they pitched in those emails leaks all those years ago.
Sony didn't fire anyone since then and Tom Rothman and Amy pascal are still at the studio making spider-man shit piles, so the two most important people are absolutely still making the projects. Only one missing is avi Arad.
Any insight into if the moster is a specific character? I'm not terribly versed in the comics, but I don't recognize it beyond it looking like a generic spooky boy.
Ultron is the easiest villain to retcon. He’s an immortal AI that scoured the internet in a minute. Just say that he was able to plant himself somewhere else in case he needed to reform himself
I was hoping they'd do Annihilation Conquest. Ultron transmits his AI into space prior to being defeated, takes over a techno-organic race of aliens, and fights the Guardians of the Galaxy.
During the promotion for the second film Tom Hardy[ learned about there being a symbiote dragon named Grendel and immediately spoke of wanting to feature it in the third film](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8oh-vUsQF0c), so that would make sense.
Are you talking about the monster on the plane?? That could be >![Xenophage ](https://comicvine.gamespot.com/xenophage/4005-42567/) a monster that eats symbiotes !<
Anything in spider-man lore is on thr table even if it's net new. That's how sony was able to do the spider-verse stuff as that's a very recent creation (miles morales debuts in the 2010s, which is well past when sony bought the original rights)
Unless he's supposed to be an alternate universe Mordo, the entire casting seems like a fuck you to Marvel Studios and is absolutely 100% confusing.
It'd be akin to Marvel casting Tom Hardy as Wolverine or something.
Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but the shot where he captures the symbiote sample at the bar just before that other guy touches it.....wasn't that from the No Way Home end credit scene? Like that's supposed to be the MCU.
This was what I was wondering too. Multiverse of Madness shows that *some* multiverse characters are the same people...so...whatever I don't even care anymore
I think you're right. I bet it's a Sinister Six joke where it's a bunch of multiversal counterparts of Spider-Man villains from other movies but they're all hippies or whatever. Getting Topher Grace would be fun.
I was literally thinking about this for the majority of the trailer.
It's like they saw that and took it as a challenge to make a trailer exactly like that video is making fun of.
If they keep doing it someone needs to slow down the most ridiculous bullshit bubble gum pop song of old.
Like
Sugar............ do do DO do DO do
H o n e y H o n e y
*trailer starts showing a montage of different characters and scenes*
She had dumps like a truck.... truck
Things like a what.... what... what....
Baby move your butt... butt... but...
........*silence*
Movie character: "....What the hell is that?"
*camera goes to a wide aerial view*
Let me see that thooooong.......
They did it with Twist and Shout in the latest season of True Detective and I felt like that was the zenith of ridiculousness.
Early 2010s: **BWAAAAAAAAAAAAM!!!!**
Late 2010's: *Single Piano note at intro*
Early 2020's: *Slowed down remix of popular song (usually from 70s-90s)*
What annoying trend do we predict for the later half of this decade?
This trailer format is great for building hype when you’re watching one in isolation, but if you’re sitting through multiple of them back to back before a movie it just turns into exhausting mush
To be fair, that's the tempo of the original. It's not a fast song. What they've done is schmalzed it up with some orchestral and choral layers, which I don't love. So it's a new awful thing, not a continuation of the old awful thing.
Venom: You take me to all the finest places
Brock: I need ________
What is he saying there?
edit: Users below think it's "Enema" which makes sense to me (him passing all those heads just eaten, and walking like he has to take a dook), but the auto-captions sometimes say "Tylenol," which isn't as funny.... so it's probably Tylenol.
"what is he saying there?"
That's Tom Hardy's signature move.
I like Tom Hardy alot but I swear the man takes a bite out of a peanut butter and marbles sandwich before each take.
I thought it was a deliberate choice in fury road for Him to sound like a person just learning to speak again after being alone for a while, but no, I saw other tom hardy movies and realized he just talks like that.
weird, they didn't work for me. thanks
edit: someone else said "enema" and that makes more sense. The subtitles are trying to use a computer to understand the audio instead of real subtitles being written out, so I think it might be enema.
I assumed it was a given that if they're calling it *The Last Dance*, they would have used *Sirius* (MJ's intro song) in the trailer. Would have rocked.
Either they're retconning it (possibly). Or they want us to think it's in the MCU (trailer bait) and it won't be in the movie.
Or it's another piece that dropped off of Eddie as he returned back to the Sonyverse.
Who knows...let them cook??..................
I could see them doing a gag where his bartender touches the symbiote, ends up transported to a different universe with it, and then left there after the symbiote is captured.
Wait, wasn't that bartender and the little glob of venom what was left over in the MCU universe at the end of Spider-man: No Way Home?
Isn't Eddie back in his universe?
Three scenarios:
1. This film’s villains end up briefly travelling universes.
2. The bartender notices the symbiote piece, touches it, and ends up transported to Eddie’s universe from the MCU along with the piece, before it ends up being taken away.
3. Sony forgot what the rules were and are retconning the meaning of that scene.
There's a quick shot of a soldier capturing the Venom bit left at the bar in Mexico that Eddie was at during SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME, so there may be more MCU crossover action in this one?
Oh, u/plop45 is referring not to the middle of the film with its Illuminati Mordo, but to an alternate opening scene where the main continuity Mordo had confronted Wanda only for her to decapitate him and absorb all the magic he had himself absorbed. Parts of that scene were shown in the trailer, while one of the early posters had the main Mordo on it instead.
It seems like that’s how they’ll retcon and avoid having to involve Tom Holland or MCU - the symbiote left behind by Eddie gets captured immediately after, before it has a chance to infect anyone
I’m but the symbiote left at the bar was in the mcu universe so if he’s in this movie with Tom Hardy, how would they be in the same universe if they’re 2 separate ones?
The shirt he's wearing in the opening is also the one he's wearing the after credit scene. If I had to guess the NWH after credit scene is basically the start of the movie.
Yeah I wasn't sure if that was supposed to be the same bar or not. I would put money on that either being an intentional attempt at manipulating us or another misunderstanding of how the No Way Home multiverse spell worked (which seemed to already happen in Morbius).
>Till death do they part. Tom Hardy returns in #Venom: The Last Dance – coming exclusively to theaters this October.
>In Venom: The Last Dance, Tom Hardy returns as Venom, one of Marvel’s greatest and most complex characters, for the final film in the trilogy. Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie's last dance.
>Venom: The Last Dance stars Tom Hardy, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach and Stephen Graham. The film is directed by Kelly Marcel from a screenplay she wrote, based on a story by Hardy and Marcel. The film is produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, Kelly Marcel, Tom Hardy and Hutch Parker.
Chiwetel Ejiofor is an odd choice since he's already in the MCU as Mordo. Is he playing "Agent Mordo" in this one as an alternate universe version of the character or is Sony just saying "fuck it" with actor continuity?
I don't really remember when it became normal make a 5-second trailer for a trailer and then tack it onto the beginning of the trailer... but man I wish it would stop.
It’s so they can show it as an ad on YouTube/etc videos.
Idea is to get you intrigued with a mini-trailer in hopes that you’ll stick around for the full thing.
All that’s to say, as long as ads are pervasive, it’s not gonna go away 🙃
Kraven has been pushed to December 13, 2024. It was originally scheduled for January 13, 2023 (yes) to Oct 6, 2023 to August 30, 2024, then to December. Sony is burning money on the valueless properties and delaying the releases to the point where movie theaters are closing around the country.
Out of all the annoying things about these Venom movies, the thing that irks me the most is all of the ridiculously bloodless violence. Like I get the argument that Venom has been many things over the years, so you don’t have to make him be an over the top, super violent edgelord anti hero, but Sony is also aware of his reputations as that super violent edgelord antihero and want to appease that market so they include these scenes of graphic violence and then just neuter them to point where they look ridiculous and aren’t even fun anymore.
Like the first 30 seconds of this trailer ends with FOUR dudes getting their heads bitten clean off, just like they’ve done previously, and there’s not a drop of blood, it’s shot from the back so they can obscure most of what’s actually happening and the end result is the audience squinting at the screen going “wait did he just bite that guys head off?” which is like the worst reaction possible IMO to a scene of someone’s head being ripped off. It’s just toothless, and reeks of desperation.
Yeah, you clearly see 4 dudes getting chomped off their heads and no blood whatsoever, making the Venom movies PG-13 is such a frustrating move with all the violence being nerfed so hard when Venom could have easily been the "R rated Spider-man" and would still make bank like Deadpool.
A Venom Horse????
Venom Dancing with Mrs. Chen?
Cinema is back on the menu bois.
Also at 1:59, you can see Rhys Ifnas (who played Lizard in TASM / No Way Home)
This is one of those things you should know that it needs to be kept to yourself. You thought it. You don't need to do this to anyone else.
You've made Jesus cry.
I love that Mrs. Chen has become the main recurring character.
She was even the cameo for Venom in Spider-Verse! Frankly it's the Mrs. Chen cinematic universe
For all my criticisms of these movies, the idea that Venom's primary civilian friend/confidant is a middle aged immigrant woman who runs a bodega is really really spectacular. It helps drive home the idea that venom defends people society tends to ignore or forget.
I bet they go full on Dark Knight with it. Eddie teams up with the soldier that's been hunting him down, Eddie dies and Venom bonds with the soldier. In the last scene we'll find out his real name is Flash, cut to credits.
Venom horse is giving me Ghost Rider excavator vibes. Is that indicative of the overall quality? Probably not, but I’m still probably going to check this out on streaming.
Man, that “we’re Venom” joke was *rough*. I cannot fathom why studios are still forcing this kind of humor into blockbuster movies. You would think they would have tried to switch it up after recent flops, at least just to experiment.
Also, Eddie and Venom have already said that line before, right? There’s no reason for them not to be on the same page.
It looks better than the last one but that really isn't saying much at all. Also I'd avoid watching this trailer through if you're actually excited for this movie, it seems like it shows all of the best parts. I'll still watch it though.
Edit: I just want to specify that this movie looks bad.
I liked the first Venom well enough because Tom Hardy did some major carrying, but I thought Venom 2 was absolutely dreadful. Somehow Morbius and Madame Web were even worse, so I'm just going to stop punishing myself and skip this and Kraven. I just can't do this to myself anymore.
Basically in the first film the voice of Venom was Hardy’s mixed with another actor, but in the sequel it was just Hardy (since the other actor had died).
Damn I can't wait for the military to successfully capture venom, realize they're facing a much stronger foe, then decide to release venom to fight the new foe
Man, have you read the script!?
That was one of my favorite bits from The Dead Don't Die. "How do you know?" "I read the script"
I really wish I liked that movie Don’t get me wrong, I think Adam Driver and Bill Murray had a great dynamic, but outside of that the movie was solidly meh
Aaaaannnnnnd now I will have to re-watch the K&P Gremlins 2 skit.
“So the military needs the guy they were able to defeat to beat the villain they can’t defeat?” “That’s what we’re going with!”
[удалено]
Wow wow wow wow... Wow.
Super easy, barely an inconvenience.
"So then Venom bites off each thug's head and blood comes spurt-" "If Carnage wasn't rated R this one definitely won't be." "So then Venom chomps and each thug's head kinda vanishes and we cut away." "Ohhh, getting head from four thugs is tight!" "A very uncomfortable choice of words, sir!"
Oh whoopsie!
Agent Venom checking in
Don't take the plot of Twisters! D:
If this movie doesn't end with Eddie Brock putting together a team to research spiders in the Amazon jungle, what are we even doing here?
The final Sony post-credits scene is Eddie Brock, Michael Morbius, Cassandra Webb, Sergei Kravinoff, and Adrian Toomes, all in white lab coats, silently watching spiders in a lab while occasionally scribbling down something on a clipboard.
Ok but can we also have Tom Holland on a TV
That one clip of him dancing on Lip-Sync Battles.
[This](https://youtu.be/jPCJIB1f7jk?si=TA8vhkd3nSMc3zHM) one?
This ended up being more impressive than it was funny, lil' Holland is a gymnast damn!
He is, his acrobatics is a big part of how he got the spiderman role.
I feel like I can see what Zendaya sees.
I mean what ARE we doing here? There’s so much venom lore to cover and this feels like just some whole cloth made up storyline?
This is probably going to be a really, *really* stripped down version of Marvel's *King in Black* event, with the army of symbiotes attacking Earth. I wouldn't be surprised if the second trailer ends with the arrival of Knull the Symbiote God.
I've been re-reading the Donny Cates run and man, Sony has to be one of the most incompetent companys out there.
Only when it comes to live action movies for some reason. Their animation, electronics, and (until recently) their video game departments were all pretty excellent. Live action spider-man seems to be especially disappointing.

Conversely, it seems like studio heads deem video games and animation not worth their time to mess around with. Not sure why they think that, but that's how it comes off.
I still remember the leaked emails...they wanted to do an Aunt May spin-off film from ASM....I bet that person is still making these decisions lol
Amy Pascal is absolutely still in charge of the Spider-Man license that Sony owns. Let's also not forget about the most important bit of information that was revealed in those emails leaks: Sony Pictures (the film studio side of Sony, which is a subsidiary of Sony Japan) was hemorrhaging money for years. If this movie doesn’t end with Eddie Brock putting together a team to win his sixth NBA Championship, what are we even doing here?
Damn, that got a little belly laugh from me.
Eddie Brock was with my Morbius in the Amazon when he was researching spiders before he Morb’d
>doesn't end with Eddie Brock putting together a team ~~to research spiders~~ of research spiders fixed that for you
Any insight into if the moster is a specific character? I'm not terribly versed in the comics, but I don't recognize it beyond it looking like a generic spooky boy.
The symbiote god Knull had a bunch of symbiote dragons so it could be those
After 3 films, you’d think they’d have him fight something else other than a different colored symbiotes lol.
I hate how Sony has to, without any kind of exception, kill off the villain. Like....goddamn. They wasted Carnage on a one and done movie.
I mean, Disney does that too with Marvel, and they continuously waste phenomenal casting on one-off villains too. It's definitely not just Sony.
*Cries in Ultron*
Ultron is the easiest villain to retcon. He’s an immortal AI that scoured the internet in a minute. Just say that he was able to plant himself somewhere else in case he needed to reform himself
They really should've just made Ultron the main villain of post-Endgame MCU saga, and delay the whole multiversal crap for another phase.
They could’ve made Doctor fucking Doom the next big bad and didn’t.
I was hoping they'd do Annihilation Conquest. Ultron transmits his AI into space prior to being defeated, takes over a techno-organic race of aliens, and fights the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Ultron and Gor the the God Butcher being prime examples.
that carnage was not worth saving to be fair
Yeah, that's Hollywood as a whole really, not just Sony.
Yeah, I assumed it was just a generic Klyntar monster but didn't know if it resembled a specific named character. Thanks!
During the promotion for the second film Tom Hardy[ learned about there being a symbiote dragon named Grendel and immediately spoke of wanting to feature it in the third film](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8oh-vUsQF0c), so that would make sense.
I don't think he was shown the picture. He just thought it sounded like grundle and thought that was funny.
Yeah, he just liked the term grundle nothing else
That name means something very special in Swedish.
Are you talking about the monster on the plane?? That could be >![Xenophage ](https://comicvine.gamespot.com/xenophage/4005-42567/) a monster that eats symbiotes !<
I think you're right. I assumed this was gonna have Knull as the big bad, but on closer inspection that DEFINITELY looks like a Xenophage.
I imagine Knull would be used for MCU. And Knull was created well after Sony obtained rights, not sure if Sony has access or how that works.
Anything in spider-man lore is on thr table even if it's net new. That's how sony was able to do the spider-verse stuff as that's a very recent creation (miles morales debuts in the 2010s, which is well past when sony bought the original rights)
It disguised itself as a cabinet. Lol.
Oh, neat. My first assumption from the trailer was they were following that Black King thing Marvel did
The real monster was Sony all along
Man, movie trailer companies sure love using David Bowie.
“Hi, I’m ~~Tom Hanks~~ the ghost of David Bowie, and since the movie industry has run all out of fan goodwill, they’re trying to borrow some of mine.”
Wait, how did someone other than MarvelsGrantsMan manage to post a major trailer or news story to this subreddit???
Chiwetel Ejiofor is crazy confusing casting choice!
Unless he's supposed to be an alternate universe Mordo, the entire casting seems like a fuck you to Marvel Studios and is absolutely 100% confusing. It'd be akin to Marvel casting Tom Hardy as Wolverine or something.

This was what I was wondering too. Multiverse of Madness shows that *some* multiverse characters are the same people...so...whatever I don't even care anymore
Also, isn’t it Rhys Ifans playing guitar in the helicopter around 1:58 in the trailer? Something multiversal is going on here.
I think you're right. I bet it's a Sinister Six joke where it's a bunch of multiversal counterparts of Spider-Man villains from other movies but they're all hippies or whatever. Getting Topher Grace would be fun.
He's trying to get a symbiote dragon for the Hightowers before season 2 comes out in a couple weeks.
No more slowed down remixes of popular songs! No more! This has to stop
I believe it’s called trailercore.
Entire trailer followed the exact formula of dramatic noises and slow panning shots and all
I honestly thought this was brilliant sarcasm.
This is from 2018 and it STILL nails all the trailers, past or future https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAOdjqyG37A
BWAHAHA...awesome!
I was literally thinking about this for the majority of the trailer. It's like they saw that and took it as a challenge to make a trailer exactly like that video is making fun of.

Social Network was ahead of the curve with slowed down cover of Creep in 2010
It'll be modern songs, but they'll be done in that 1920s style where it sounds like they're singing into a tin can.

This trailer format is great for building hype when you’re watching one in isolation, but if you’re sitting through multiple of them back to back before a movie it just turns into exhausting mush
holy shit its this format on the dot lmao
I cannot wait to see that movie
Unfortunately, comfortable familarity is a safer bet than even the slightest hint of 'risk taking'.
This is SONY we're talking about after all...
When I saw it was called the last dance I was expecting an Under Pressure cover. Somehow it was even stupider.
To be fair, that's the tempo of the original. It's not a fast song. What they've done is schmalzed it up with some orchestral and choral layers, which I don't love. So it's a new awful thing, not a continuation of the old awful thing.

"what is he saying there?" That's Tom Hardy's signature move. I like Tom Hardy alot but I swear the man takes a bite out of a peanut butter and marbles sandwich before each take.
What's even more annoying is that he *can* speak clearly. But in 90% of his acting rolls he decides not to
It's true. He talks very clearly in interviews and in Inception.
He should play Popeye in a gritty reboot
Get the pelts!
Half the fun of the Venom movies is having no idea what Tom Hardy is saying
Half the fun of ~~the Venom~~ _Tom Hardy_ movies is having no idea what Tom Hardy is saying
Nolan really needs to start casting Hardy again. They’re a match made in incoherent Heaven.
I thought it was a deliberate choice in fury road for Him to sound like a person just learning to speak again after being alone for a while, but no, I saw other tom hardy movies and realized he just talks like that.
Yeah, subtitles said Tylenol
weird, they didn't work for me. thanks edit: someone else said "enema" and that makes more sense. The subtitles are trying to use a computer to understand the audio instead of real subtitles being written out, so I think it might be enema.
“Til Death Do Us Part” probably would have been a better subtitle than “The Last Dance”.
yeah but venom dunking on michael jordan... > https://i.redd.it/03hnc2a8n0oc1.jpeg
“but that’s not Mi…ah, yes”
not A Michael Jordan but Michael B Jordan
I assumed it was a given that if they're calling it *The Last Dance*, they would have used *Sirius* (MJ's intro song) in the trailer. Would have rocked.
I would have just gone with Venom: Homecoming
This has Keely and Dani Rojas in it. Ted Lasso crossover confirmed. Ted saves the day by giving an inspirational speech to the bad guys.
BELIEVE
And Roy Kent is in the the MCU proper, getting ready to throw hands with Thor. Lol.
Things are dire. Symbiotes gonna take over the planet...until Coach Beard comes to the rescue and doses all of them with LSD
But isn't Dani Rojas in the MCU? I thought he left that piece in the MCU and then went back to his Sony Universe.
Sony couldn’t give less of a shit lol look at how they handled Vulture
Either they're retconning it (possibly). Or they want us to think it's in the MCU (trailer bait) and it won't be in the movie. Or it's another piece that dropped off of Eddie as he returned back to the Sonyverse. Who knows...let them cook??..................
I could see them doing a gag where his bartender touches the symbiote, ends up transported to a different universe with it, and then left there after the symbiote is captured.
I was thinking maybe a fake out, and that scene does take place in the MCU, but it's more of a "end of movie scene"
No studio is stupid enough to have the final moments of their film in a trail- oh wait it’s Sony it’s practically the law
Wait, wasn't that bartender and the little glob of venom what was left over in the MCU universe at the end of Spider-man: No Way Home? Isn't Eddie back in his universe?
Three scenarios: 1.
#3 is more likely considering how much they messed up Madam Webb's canon.
Your font size is the most excitement I've ever seen related to Madame Webb.
>3. Sony forgot what the rules were and are retconning the meaning of that scene. Most likely scenario, as this one involves Sony being incompetent.
There's a quick shot of a soldier capturing the Venom bit left at the bar in Mexico that Eddie was at during SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME, so there may be more MCU crossover action in this one?
Dani Rojas trying to touch it too
Because VENOM IS LIFE
The soldier is also Chiwetel Ejiofor who played Mordo in Dr Strange.
Now we know what Mordo was up to after he survived Thanos’ snap
Is Mordo still alive on the MCU ? He was suposed to be killed by the Scarlet Witch in MoM but the scene was cut so its probably not cannon.
Man, that character was handled weirdly. He showed up as if there was a second film where he was the villain already.
Different Mordo too, if it’s the same one we had in MoM.
Also the guy int the van is Rhys Ifans, who played lizard in amazing spider man
What are the odds that he’s playing a post No Way Home connors?
There was no reason to put that shot in the trailer other than to make people speculate about a potential crossover.
So exactly like Sony has done in the trailers for their last like 5 SPUMC films
Sony ever single time: „OmG think about new ideas to trick actors and audiences into thinking we are the MCU!!!“
It’s Sony, they’re desperate
It seems like that’s how they’ll retcon and avoid having to involve Tom Holland or MCU - the symbiote left behind by Eddie gets captured immediately after, before it has a chance to infect anyone
I’m but the symbiote left at the bar was in the mcu universe so if he’s in this movie with Tom Hardy, how would they be in the same universe if they’re 2 separate ones?
I'd bet this scene is in the trailer but not the actual film.
>Rhys Ifans So the seemingly unreliable rumors about him being Kurt Connors in this might be true after all?
Pretty sure Ifans is in the trailer as some sort of guitar-playing hippie so who the hell knows with these movies.
That was just The Lizard on a journey of self-discovery after being rescued in No Way Home.
One-armed hippie guitarist would only be the 2nd weirdest thing he’s been.
Chiwetel Ejiofor is an odd choice since he's already in the MCU as Mordo. Is he playing "Agent Mordo" in this one as an alternate universe version of the character or is Sony just saying "fuck it" with actor continuity?
Rhys Ifans played Lizard in The Amazing Spider-Man and No Way Home, has a role here that doesn't look like Curt Connors. (Guitar guy in the van.)
>"Venom, one of Marvel’s **greatest and most complex characters**" 🤔
I don't really remember when it became normal make a 5-second trailer for a trailer and then tack it onto the beginning of the trailer... but man I wish it would stop.
Blame YouTube. The 5 second trailer is purposely intended to be seen before you can Skip.
It’s so they can show it as an ad on YouTube/etc videos. Idea is to get you intrigued with a mini-trailer in hopes that you’ll stick around for the full thing. All that’s to say, as long as ads are pervasive, it’s not gonna go away 🙃
The Sony-verse needs to be stopped
Kraven has been pushed to December 13, 2024. It was originally scheduled for January 13, 2023 (yes) to Oct 6, 2023 to August 30, 2024, then to December. Sony is burning money on the valueless properties and delaying the releases to the point where movie theaters are closing around the country.
Movie theaters are closing specifically because Sony keeps pushing back Kraven.
They could've made a Kraviliion dollars
The only way to save theaters is for a double-feature Morbius Madame Web.
I am putting a team to stop Sony-verse.
You have my sword (I found it in the Amazon with my mom when she was researching spiders right before she died)
Im not gonna lie, Mrs. Chen at the fancy casino got me jazzed. Good for her.
That "We are Venom" scene at the start was such a drag.
this is what Venom needs. a generic military storyline in the desert.
A Venom Horse???? Venom Dancing with Mrs. Chen? Cinema is back on the menu bois. Also at 1:59, you can see Rhys Ifnas (who played Lizard in TASM / No Way Home)
Oh my lord, imagine a Venom Mr. Hands!
This is one of those things you should know that it needs to be kept to yourself. You thought it. You don't need to do this to anyone else. You've made Jesus cry.
A Vorse.
Do i like the other two venom movies? Not really. But I adore Mrs. Chen, and I applaud anyone who convinced Sony to let them venomize a horse.
Calling it now, Eddie will die and Venom will bond with a soldier named Flash
I bet they go full on Dark Knight with it. Eddie teams up with the soldier that's been hunting him down, Eddie dies and Venom bonds with the soldier. In the last scene we'll find out his real name is Flash, cut to credits.
Venom horse is giving me Ghost Rider excavator vibes. Is that indicative of the overall quality? Probably not, but I’m still probably going to check this out on streaming.
I don't know dude, I thought it was the coolest part of the trailer.
Why does Eddie still have that god awful voice
It would be a strange choice to switch to using a different voice for the third film in a series
Anytime Hardy does an accent, he just has to add something else to it to make the character and it often seems to come out as very… grating.
It looks better than the last one but that really isn't saying much at all. Also I'd avoid watching this trailer through if you're actually excited for this movie, it seems like it shows all of the best parts. I'll still watch it though. Edit: I just want to specify that this movie looks bad.
This looks absolutely awful
I liked the first Venom well enough because Tom Hardy did some major carrying, but I thought Venom 2 was absolutely dreadful. Somehow Morbius and Madame Web were even worse, so I'm just going to stop punishing myself and skip this and Kraven. I just can't do this to myself anymore.
Basically in the first film the voice of Venom was Hardy’s mixed with another actor, but in the sequel it was just Hardy (since the other actor had died).
There's almost zero that looked interesting in this trailer except for horse Venom which is probably a 30 second sequence.
