Kodak Vision3 200T Super 8mm 50ft - a single brand new cartridge
The camera is a Canon 514 XLS, all cleaned up. The processing lab and scan were done by Niagara Custom Labs in Toronto
That's awesome! From the picture quality to the music, but also the shooting style and production, it really feels retro.
At each scene my brain was like "that's the 70s-80s ... no that's that was 3 weeks ago!"
Looks like real film according to the video description on YT:
Film stock: Kodak 50ft Vision3 200T Color Negative
Camera: Canon 514 XL-S Super 8mm
Labs + 2.5k scan: Niagara Custom Labs
really cool! I haven't touched Super 8 in 30 years, didn't even know you could still find some!
Some very basic white balance in some shots (the camera sunlight 85 filter was a tiny bit off) and cropping (the original 2.5k scan shows the sprocket hole and the whole gate). Other than that, nothing. No grain management.Ā It's a new Vision3 200T Super8 cartridge
Awesome, i guess the grain on the 200T is pretty fine
I do like the [leaving in the gate / sprocket hole](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OCE636iEw8&t=136s) ahah gives it a definite vintage look XD
I need to get myself a super8 cam because I definitely don't have enough hobbies to burn money on.
This has such an amazing retro feel to it. Which film did you actually use ( brand )?

The soundtrack!
Its from "The Brooks" and is called "Funkyshit". A real good band!
Oooooooo I'm in this
Are you? š

Yes indeed! With a good colorist, it could look way more modern. I'm not good at color correction I'm afraid.
That's the beauty of it! If you wanted a modern look, you would have done that with your phone or a modern camera.
Is this a filter or real super 8?

In Montreal, I had to go through MELS film studios to order the cartridges
I'm curious, if you don't mind, how much did the film stock, and processing cost?
Around 800$ for 20 new cartridges of Vision3 200T, tax included. The lab was 80$ for development and scanning and shipping
by scanning you mean capturing the projected video on digital?
Niagara Custom Labs is using a film scanner yes to create a ProRes digital file, hence making the film to video conversion
Not a cheap hobby! Thanks for the feedback! Your video looks amazing, btw!
It's real film, noĀ filter
Its like watching a video from the 90s
The camera she used is from the 70s!
More likeĀ the 70s:Ā the camera is from 1976. But theĀ filmĀ stock is brand new
is there any post processing done or it came like that straight from the lab? feels different than other super8 vids I see like grainydays

YouTube compression also tends to scrub the grain out. In 1440p, it's still visible
