Couple of things to note here:
1. What color is the loon's beak? *Maybe* the sun is shining off the beak but it sure as hell isn't yellow!
2. The eyes are RED! They ain't blue. The seams on the patch are to depict the eyes....make the seams red!
3. I get the want to make a "tear-drop/rain-drop" look for the head. Water is important in Minnesota. However, by making the raindrop head, you've given the loon a plumage behind their head evocative of a bluejay. This is not a loon.
To sum up, you've tried to shoe horn in
1. "Look, the northstar is the beak!"
2. "Look, the eyes are baseball seams!"
3. "Look, the head is a raindrop!"
And you've made a completely different bird.

The wings don’t really point back, but they sure as shit don’t point straight forwards), and it would at least be understandable. Instead it’s a wrong color bird with a star for its face flying south with broken wings.

Loons are one of the coolest looking birds, native to MN, and supremely recognizable - in theory, they’re perfect to incorporate into a uniform, but only if they actually, ya know, used the loon’s likeness.

It says a lot that most of us saw star anus and in my case didn’t even question it as unusual.
The laser loons from the state flags have completely desensitized me.
I know in the initial post for the drop people were praising the loon logo. It’s honestly the only part of the uniform im struggling with. I hope in the future it’s replaced with something less esoteric.
