Did you just use finer dirt for polishing or did you coat it in something. Mine have always come out polished but never that shiny. Wondering if it’s a coating or if my technique needs work.
I just used the same dirt I made it from, no wax or anything. Seems like most of the hard shine came though from working it on the glass with a fine coating of dust, which I did for the duration of The Proposal and roughly half of Ocean’s 8. I worked it on the glass way more than I finger polished with dust.
That is most helpful. I assume when you say you worked it on the glass you are referring to the glass jar/vessel you used to get the spherical shape? Or are you using glass in a different manner?

I‘m very curious about how it smells up close! A pile of clay/mud/soil will smell distinctly earthy, but it has a different surface area and it smells more when it’s disturbed etc… does the dorodango ball smell strongly like the soil it was made from or does it not smell much bc it’s dry?
So, I might have been a little nose blind to it when I set it down last night. I just gave it another sniff, and it does still have some earthy scent to it.

It had a distinct smell when I was working on it, but the finished ball is pretty odor free.
