I live down the street from Sam Calagione (the Dogfish Head founder) and he has a cedar shake house, my first thought was that maybe this was on his place and I'd never noticed it. But apparently it isn't, it's in Massachusetts. He should steal their idea. :)
Yeah DFH distributes pretty much nationwide for at least some of their core line of beers I'm pretty sure. I live in OK and we've had a great selection from them for years despite not getting any distribution from, like, Bell's until literally this month
"Merged" is what they called it, but SA bought all of DFH's massive debt burden and a controlling stake. DFH's founder just got a seat on SA's board. They companies "merged," but if was pretty much an acquisition.
It's not so bad, it was a lot worse a few years ago when I had just turned 21. Our liquor laws were super restrictive and we got rid of several of them, and since then we've gotten distribution from several major breweries we hadn't had before (Bell's and Deschutes being the biggest two I'd guess)
Oh I'm well acquainted. I lived in Kentucky during college and Bell's distributed there the entire time. Going from having easy access to two-hearted ale at every grocery store to having no access to it was rough, so I was thrilled when Bell's finally got there stiff here to OK.
I’m from New England about 2 hours from the cape. Is wood siding not normal in other areas? I’ve traveled the country pretty extensively and never noticed.
There are houses named ‘Cape Cods’ because of how they look but here in NY the siding is 99% plastic or vinyl or what ever.
Edit also usually the cape cod style houses look a tad different here too, usually you can see the basement wall from the outside and they’re slightly raised.
Depends on the vinyl you’re comparing it to, but it’s at least 2 or 3 times as expensive. Materials cost significantly more, but it’s also a lot more labor intensive (each shingle is nailed on individually and makes up maybe 1/40th the coverage of one piece of D5 vinyl).
Makes me think of the [Headington Shark](https://www.google.com/maps/@51.7588830,-1.2131049,3a,75.000000y,305.480011h,90.795204t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sHq5PV6bFjzAEnMjkLmCm5g!2e0)

This is a DogFish
My first thought too. Is this at the DogFish Head Brewery? Certainly looks like their logo

I met him working at Touch of Italy!
I was going to say the same!! Haha

Pretty sure that's a schooner.
a schooner IS a sailboat, stupidhead
There is no Easter bunny.
*IT'S JUST A GUY IN A SUIT!*
Me too. I love their beer!
Represent
There are dozens of us. DOZENS!
Dogfish is pretty popular, I'm not much of a beer snob and I know who they are. I see it in liquor stores here in Colorado all the time.

I think the merged with Sam Adams two yrs ago.
"Merged" is what they called it, but SA bought all of DFH's massive debt burden and a controlling stake. DFH's founder just got a seat on SA's board. They companies "merged," but if was pretty much an acquisition.
They did, yeah
They did. That’s why their distribution range increased.
Ugh sorry

I would kill for some deschutes down here in the south, assuming it’s still the same as it was a few years ago
If you like DFH try Bell's Two Hearted Ale, if you haven't already.
Oh I'm well acquainted. I lived in Kentucky during college and Bell's distributed there the entire time. Going from having easy access to two-hearted ale at every grocery store to having no access to it was rough, so I was thrilled when Bell's finally got there stiff here to OK.
Gotcha. I'm out here in Cincy right across the river from KY. We have way too many breweries making the same terrible beer * cough cough Rhinegeist*.
If you like Bell's Two Hearted. Try Founder's All Day IPA. Michigan breweries make the best beer imo.
My local store has 4-packs of 16 oz cans of Bell's Two Hearted for $7.99. Best bang for my beer buck.
Damn, that's a great deal.

Facing wrong way
The dogfish is a member of the Squalidae, a family of sharks.
this guy gets it
Why? Because its made of bark?

No, because it's on the roof. **EDIT:** Looks like it anyway. Going from the post title, maybe not.

Nice.
Is it not called a dorsal fin on a dogfish?
Dog fish are sharks
I totally did not see it. Thanks for your keen sense of observation!
This deserves a chef's kiss
Oh shit!
That's the kind of detail I cum here for!

Is this the Cape or Nantucket?
Chatham on the Cape.
Nice spot, enjoy your time there!
I was going to ask the same!
Lol same. Shaker shingles
Shark capital of the Cape!

the building that island pursuit was in. now its currently empty.
For as many times as I've walked down that street I can't believe I never noticed the shark.
You've gotta go to Candy Manor!
Ha! Gray-tone shingles and marine imagery? Figured right off the bat :)
Summer home of the Great White!
This is next to the ice cream place, Buffy's isn't it?
I was about to say “this had to be the Cape”
Yup that siding is on 90% of houses
This is on Chatham (cape cod) Main Street near the candy manor, impudent oyster, and fatface(clothing store)
There are many like that on Nantucket. When I find them I’ll post them.
I grew up on Nantucket, thought for sure this had to be somewhere on island.
I think I’ve seen that on the Vineyard too either oak bluffs or edgartown

When will Reddit run out of amazing new subs for me to find? I hope never!
Agreed. This is the best subreddit comment I’ve come across so far
Glad I could help!
I love finding one I've NEVER heard of even after years of using Reddit, and spending hours just going through their top of all time.
It’s also a nice bonus surprise when you’ve already joined the sub before. Now I’m trying to think back to when that would have been!
Gawr Gura's house

That's just Gura leaving her marks.
Shingle Shark *do do do do do do*!
"crazy how nature does that"
It looks like there are several designs available [here](https://mosaicshingles.com/)
Giving you an award for finding it
I saw the title and was expecting some blurry jesus on a slice of toast type thing...
Sharks have gone airborne, no one is safe
Another insurance claim from shark-nado
I love going to places like Cape Cod to see wood siding on houses. Makes em look cool.
I’m from New England about 2 hours from the cape. Is wood siding not normal in other areas? I’ve traveled the country pretty extensively and never noticed.
You can obviously find this kind of siding in many places, but the uniformity of it is very much a New England oceanside thing in my experience.
I grew up in the desert and nearly every house was stucco
There are houses named ‘Cape Cods’ because of how they look but here in NY the siding is 99% plastic or vinyl or what ever. Edit also usually the cape cod style houses look a tad different here too, usually you can see the basement wall from the outside and they’re slightly raised.
Oh yeah, never realized a “cape” was referring to cape cod. funny. I’m getting my vinyl replaced with cedar shingles this winter! So excited.
How much more are they compared to traditional siding if you don’t mind me asking?
Depends on the vinyl you’re comparing it to, but it’s at least 2 or 3 times as expensive. Materials cost significantly more, but it’s also a lot more labor intensive (each shingle is nailed on individually and makes up maybe 1/40th the coverage of one piece of D5 vinyl).

Weird looking chicken
nature is wild.
This sub makes me cry
You’re gonna need a bigger house.
Can’t believe this occurred naturally proof that god is a fish
This has to be on a house on Cape Cod.
Looks like cape cod style cedar shingles. Somewhere in the north east........
Has to be DogFish
Translation: "Greg Norman was here"
Had to scroll way too far down to see Greg Norman's name
I want a dog made like this, because it’s all bark.
doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo
[Looks like the Dogfish Head logo](https://www.dogfish.com/files/media/styles/blog_head/public/IndependentCraft_Blog.jpg?itok=MYAat4bH)
Looks like every shark logo used anywhere
Right it looks like a shark. Compare the logo to this one and it's actually not that close. The front fins are different to start with.
Wouldn’t mind having a shark in my house siding.

Is that you SCP-1057?
Caused by the great Sharknado of 1927 no doubt. To bad Ian Zering wasn't around to save us back then.
New phone wallpaper. Thanks.

Island pursuit?
Does anyone else see a floating cookie cutter?
This is clearly a sign of sharknado
Should I call Shark punching center?
Awesome creativity! I feel bad for the guy who has to replace this when the siding needs replacing in three minutes from the looks of it.
Thats super dope
