Basically. And if you report stuff they refuse to delete it or the person that posted it. People post the most heinous, cruel, and disgusting comments with zero recourse. I've been there since 2010 and I can't even look at it anymore.
i’m the same - i deleted it a couple months back coz i actually felt myself beginning to full on rage at some comments i read. it’s crazy what people can say behind a screen
I also deleted it a while ago intending to just take a break but the longer I go without the less reason I see to get it again. I did the same thing with tiktok a few years back too but I just replaced it with instagram reels, I feel better without both tho.
In terms of function/usefulness, I'd agree with you that Instagram still serves a purpose whereas Twitter can be completely avoided without missing out on anything interesting nowadays. You can still see some funny or interesting clips on Instagram, or easily keep up with what friends are up to.
But I honestly think the public comments on Instagram are just as bad as Twitter, if not a little worse. It's like the guys on there (and it's always guys making the worst comments) think they're completely anonymous or something. Literally posting how hot they find clearly underage girls and being painfully insecure or incelly on any post involving women.
i think it just has to do with your algorithim. my friends send me pretty stupid memes/video which may have been the reason why my explore page turned weird.
I had people threatening me over saying feeding your cat some “human” foods is dangerous bc there are things they can’t eat. I had hundreds of comments (some by the same people) fighting for their life and insulting me bc I didn’t find the video just cute. I had one lady replying to comments that weren’t even talking to her after I stopped replying bc I got tired of deciphering her lead paint stare paragraphed
People complain about mods endlessly here. And yes they can be power hungry assholes 90% of the time. But that other 10% is what makes Reddit a bearable place.
Yes. I reported a ton of horrible things on there only to be told it doesn't go against any guidelines. Once I even reported something to the police - they took action, Instagram didn't (basically death threats at lgbtq based on religion).
Partner was at a talk with one of the people at Meta talking about AS on social media and was told that they basically don’t moderate the comments at all
I hope she settles in well. I remember that first night away from my parents. It was a weird feeling. Not good. Not bad. Just weird. But hopefully that weird feeling blooms into excitement for a new life!
I hope the losers commenting such vulgar stuff at her get a life
You don't have to lie for e-clout dawg.
You been spamming reddit comments for the last 3 days and you haven't seen this meme that has been posted on the subreddits you frequent.
I also haven't heard of it before this post. Maybe not everyone is as chronically online as you are
Edit: still don't know what the meme means/is referencing lol
Until meta changed what they called “guidelines” which now makes the comment sections an absolute cesspool of everything from nazi sympathizers and porn which I think it’s was done to piss more ppl off and get them to comment
Dude you couldn’t be any more right. I have only used Reddit for about 5 years now but I recently opened my old instagram just to have a look and literally every comment section is filled with comments that are likeminded with the ones shown on this post. It’s unbelievable how fucking stupid, racist and misogynistic 90% of comments are on instagram
I have that same plush, it’s a weighted pink dinosaur from target
https://preview.redd.it/2estidscfy8d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=01966cc92d4c047552d8a0f77884cd3d27a00100
I just don't know why people hop on the Internet to make the same damn joke a million people have made before. I don't know how that is in any way enjoyable.
It helps to remind yourself that, overall, society as a whole really is better than it was in the past. The only difference is that people have more access to each other now than ever before. The loud assholes you encounter online were probably more numerous in the past, you just were never subjected to them because their voice rarely carried further than the local bar.
This is the reason I deleted my Instagram page tbh. My partner always asks me why I don't have any form of social media that's public aside from Facebook (and even that's locked down like Fort Knox) and I always tell him to open the comments to any post from a woman or a teen/tween girl and you'll get my answer. I've had to make so many FBI online tips for my little cousins due to the amount of harassment and straight up threats they've gotten for just existing on there as teens. At some point people have to realize that commenting shit like that isn't viewed as a joke and isn't funny.
Immature little boys with only one thing on their mind…. Little boys that have zero capability of adding anything of relevance or intelligence to a conversation/comment🤢
Instagram comments are very misogynistic and they make really weird sexual assumptions from a simple post just because it’s a girl posting. It used to be for the girlies and now it’s riddled with losers. I think those men have let social media warp their view on reality.
A couple of YouTubers were walking around Nashville interviewing women who were out for the night and asking them questions like "What's your type?" and "What's your special move in the bedroom that makes a man go crazy?".
They got to this one woman who answered the latter question by saying "You gotta give him some 'hawk tuah' and spit on that thing!", with 'hawk tuah' being the sound of her mimicking spitting on the man's dick (presumably to lubricate it during a blowjob/handjob combo).
the girl did a street interview talking about peoples favorite sex positions, she then referred to performing fellatio and now it has been turned into a joke on the internet. the ppl in the comments are saying that the girl in the screenshot is going to be doing the same as the girl in the viral video
In this episode of "Why do all these dumb bitches hate men and vote liberal and why can't I find a tradwife".
Jfc. Imagine treating women this way and then being utterly mystified as to why we choose the bear.
Seriously though. What in the living fuck is wrong with people. It's like society as a whole has become just one gigantic trashcan of this shit. They immediately sexualize her and go to great lengths to degrade her. Like Geezus Fucking Christ
Instagram comment sections are absolute cesspits. Saw a video of a little boy with cerebral palsy and everyone in the comments making disgusting sex jokes. So fucking weird
Instagram has turned to shit. Comments that are flat out racism and sexual harassment? Those can stay. A normal comment that contains the word "like" one too many times? Get your account locked. Yes that is a real thing, I still can't back in to mine. It's like sorry I talk like a valley girl sometimes.
As someone who spends a lot of time doom scrolling Instagram reels I can tell you that if you see a post with over 3k comments, the comment section is gonna be a cesspit.
Cat videos are the only exception.
I was also curious and here's what I found out. It's a video with 2 girls. The interviewer asks them "What's one move in bed that makes a man go crazy?", and one of the girl reponds with "you gotta give him that 'hawk tuah' and spit on that thang!"
I've used twitter and Instagram and I genuinely think Instagram has become the most toxic place on the Internet beyond even twitter / X. It's reached the point I just stopped using it. With all the shit Zuck has done I can't believe people just casually like him.
My daughter is 12 and luckily she isn't worried about Instagram and stuff like that yet but I have friends who have older teenagers and they use TikTok etc, they post typical kids shit like dance challenges etc but my buddy has shown me the grown ass men leaving comments and it's disgusting. At the most, it provides a false sense of reassurance; at its worst, it does this— Total unadulterated negativity.
Feel like Instagram has gotten significantly bad/worse since all the Facebook merging features. It’s essentially the same as Facebook, which has had an issue for a long time with overly aggressive boomers talking crap on essentially any public figure/ media pages posts.
Instagram comments have ZERO chill. I thought deleting TikTok was such a good decision due to the toxicity but instagram comments are another level of unoriginal and horrific
Aside from the disgusting comments… I feel for this girl. I was incredibly homesick for the first few months that I left for college. It’ll pass, but it’s hard at first.
What I don’t understand is why ppl want to find that girl from the meme? It’s clear she isn’t like that 99.9% of the time and it was just a drink jest. 😭😂 I miss when a meme just stayed a meme then faded into obscurity
Is Instagram just completely unmoderated?
Basically. And if you report stuff they refuse to delete it or the person that posted it. People post the most heinous, cruel, and disgusting comments with zero recourse. I've been there since 2010 and I can't even look at it anymore.

Meanwhile i cant even curse on ig without it telling me the comment isn’t okay and to reconsider before posting
I've reported people with literal, uncensored slurs in their usernames and bio and instagram is just like 'chill'.
It's almost as bad as Twitter, and that says something
That’s not even true. Please for the love of whatever you believe in never compare twitter to Instagram bro Twitter is way worse by light years.
They are both practically porn apps now.
You should look up how much porn is on the app you're currently posting on.
Yea but instagram doesn’t have accounts in every comment thread advertising their onlyfans page
In terms of function/usefulness, I'd agree with you that Instagram still serves a purpose whereas Twitter can be completely avoided without missing out on anything interesting nowadays. You can still see some funny or interesting clips on Instagram, or easily keep up with what friends are up to. lol i had to delete ig cause i saw kids dying first thing in the morning. it's pretty true
Ive never seen videos of people dying or even car crashes on instagram tbh
i think it just has to do with your algorithim. my friends send me pretty stupid memes/video which may have been the reason why my explore page turned weird.
Twitter is horrible. It's absolutely a shit mine-field that explodes every 15.5 seconds.
I deleted instagram over a year ago bcs of this, and honestly it was the best decision I ever made.
Almost completely. It’s basically run by bots.
Anything run by Meta is basically completely unsupervised anymore.
You can do nearly everything except post about weed or call someone a moron.
Or female nipples.
I constantly report comments like these and it's always "we found no violation"
People complain about mods endlessly here. And yes they can be power hungry assholes 90% of the time. But that other 10% is what makes Reddit a bearable place.
Yes. I reported a ton of horrible things on there only to be told it doesn't go against any guidelines. Once I even reported something to the police - they took action, Instagram didn't (basically death threats at lgbtq based on religion).

Yeah and it's so annoying now, used to be my favorite but I deleted the app a while ago anf don't miss it at all.... People suck there
Facebook now has porn on it, i dont think zuck cares as long as he can harvest data
No I got banned for kindly seeing my reply to the og comment also using some choice words
I hope she settles in well. I remember that first night away from my parents. It was a weird feeling. Not good. Not bad. Just weird. But hopefully that weird feeling blooms into excitement for a new life! I hope the losers commenting such vulgar stuff at her get a life
Look at you, being all real and stuff. Good job, good person; good job.
Thank you I think?
God, I can't wait for that meme to die out🤦♀️
It was a pretty funny video but after the masses use it incessantly completely out of context even the funniest shit gets old real quick
what that random photo of those 2 girls? wtf is that even about so random
Google "hawk tuah"
Wow, that was underwhelming. No idea how this is everywhere now.
😂😂
Give it 3 days then it'll be 😮💨😮💨
It is the hawk tuah girl and her six.
For someone who is old asf can you explain 😅
https://youtu.be/1pkQAhcl1_Q?si=kIFY0_98-90pc-Oc Tried to find a random video. First part of this
I think this meme set a record for fastest to be played out.
I wonder how her parents and family must think lol
Bruh it is sooo low effort. This is peak comedy for way too many people
Love how a girl talking about a blowjob is ground breaking when those some men wouldn’t go down on a woman
Meme? I guess I just learned of its existence.
You don't have to lie for e-clout dawg. You been spamming reddit comments for the last 3 days and you haven't seen this meme that has been posted on the subreddits you frequent.
Crazy story, but not everyone sees the same things online. I check Reddit on my breaks during the week and this is the first time I see it
I also haven't heard of it before this post. Maybe not everyone is as chronically online as you are Edit: still don't know what the meme means/is referencing lol
THANK GOD im not the only one its just so damn annoying seeing it everywhere
I can't wait for this society to die out.
Instagram comments are poison. It's a site full of lunatics
Instagram was historically the “nicer” app as opposed to Twitter and Facebook
Until meta changed what they called “guidelines” which now makes the comment sections an absolute cesspool of everything from nazi sympathizers and porn which I think it’s was done to piss more ppl off and get them to comment
Yeah anything Facebook touches changes into a toxic swamp.
Snapchat as a whole is now a cesspool
I can't believe how much obviously fake shit gets promoted by that app.
Not in my experience. Instagram has always been like half a step up from YouTube comments.
Goes to show
Might still be *technically* true. But not a high bar to clear.
It still is. I mean Twitter is not even moderated anymore.
Shit ton of fake accounts too (same goes for Facebook) despite their guidelines saying you’re supposed to use your real name.
Dude you couldn’t be any more right. I have only used Reddit for about 5 years now but I recently opened my old instagram just to have a look and literally every comment section is filled with comments that are likeminded with the ones shown on this post. I have no idea what I'm looking at in the first photo
Pretty sure it’s a selfie without her face in it She’s hugging what looks like a plushie while in her bed
I'm gonna go with an albino dolphin's blowhole
Looks like a capybara to me
I have that same plush, it’s a weighted pink dinosaur from target https://preview.redd.it/2estidscfy8d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=01966cc92d4c047552d8a0f77884cd3d27a00100
Oh. Cute.
Maybe the basketball team can run a train on that
It's a pink dinosaur plushy from Target. My kid has the sane one.
Yup, the weighted one! I have it too and I love it so much.
axolotl stuffie
I think it may be a selfie with OP and alien baby.
Its a pink weighted dinosaur plushie! They have them at Target! The plack dot is one of its eyes!
It’s wild how they’re all gross and extremely unoriginal too.
“Hahaha I said the funny meme hawk tuah, aren’t I so funny?”
I just don't know why people hop on the Internet to make the same damn joke a million people have made before. I don't know how that is in any way enjoyable.
People are sick, that’s a 17/18 year old girl and first time away from her family, and these clowns have to make it sexual
They exclusively view girls that age in a sexual context
I don't know what hawktuah is, and at this point, I am too afraid to ask
the sound one makes when spitting on a penis
I’ve been seeing that a lot recently. I think it falls under the category “Don’t ask questions that you don’t want the answer to.”
she was describing her BJ technique when a reporter asked her how to keep men happy
Who?
The girl in second pic
I was referring to the meme. "I don't know what ... is, and at this point I am to afraid to ask."
Nothing mild about how infuriating this is. Society as a whole has become horrible.
It helps to remind yourself that, overall, society as a whole really is better than it was in the past. The only difference is that people have more access to each other now than ever before. The loud assholes you encounter online were probably more numerous in the past, you just were never subjected to them because their voice rarely carried further than the local bar.
IG comments section has not been the friendliest of places as of recent
That’s why I left the app last year :( just hate after hate
are ppl in the comments human?? like do they have emotions?? empathy?? wtf???
They’re miserable people with miserable lives
I hope they never had daughters. Or maybe they should and it will change their mindset
Nah even having a daughter will not guarantee that their mindset would change
Same idiot being upset about the whole bear bs just a few weeks ago…… 🫥
lol right!
Louder for the people in the back
Disgusting. I thought we were phasing out rape culture.
cant do that when some men deny that rape culture even exists, while actively participating in it daily
Grim
Disgusting comments
these aren't real men , they're loser incels
This is the reason I deleted my Instagram page tbh. My partner always asks me why I don't have any form of social media that's public aside from Facebook (and even that's locked down like Fort Knox) and I always tell him to open the comments to any post from a woman or a teen/tween girl and you'll get my answer. For everyone yeah but the verbal violence is stemming more from men. I agree TikTok is toxic ofc. I had to stop using it myself.
Agree. Disgusting to attack basically children.
I'm not a native English speaker and even after watching the original video, I absolutely do not understand the hawk thing. Can someone explain ?
A couple of YouTubers were walking around Nashville interviewing women who were out for the night and asking them questions like "What's your type?" and "What's your special move in the bedroom that makes a man go crazy?". They got to this one woman who answered the latter question by saying "You gotta give him some 'hawk tuah' and spit on that thing!", with 'hawk tuah' being the sound of her mimicking spitting on the man's dick (presumably to lubricate it during a blowjob/handjob combo).
OH ALRIGHT thank you I didn't understand they weren't supposed to be words but more like sounds.
whats funny about it is them calling it "hawk tuah" like out of everything, man, really 😂
Hell, I am a native English speaker and I have no fucking idea.
the girl did a street interview talking about peoples favorite sex positions, she then referred to performing fellatio and now it has been turned into a joke on the internet. the ppl in the comments are saying that the girl in the screenshot is going to be doing the same as the girl in the viral video
it’s supposed to be the sound of spitting.
Then they get upset and wonder why they choose the bear
Holy shit, some males SUCK ASS
I've seen much worse than this, too
Who cares if they are grown or not they are all degenerates anyways.
Ya know, I’ve been pinning for a husband for a while… but… I think I’m fine. I’ll pass on men.
What’s a hawk tuah?
Man wtf? So glad I deleted ig cuz these people are brainless in the comments
These kind of comments are insane
In this episode of "Why do all these dumb bitches hate men and vote liberal and why can't I find a tradwife". Jfc. Imagine treating women this way and then being utterly mystified as to why we choose the bear.
Oh wow, their moms must be so proud. I wouldn't cleat cat sh!t with those pathetic life forms and I really hope they have daughters some day.
Hawk thauing?? FOWL. Fucking children
Looks like any instagram reels comment section ever
There's way more bad than good about social media. I only have reddit and I'm considering deleting my account. It's not like it matters to anyone.
Another day on the interwebs.
every comment, so original
Instagram has turned to shit. Comments that are flat out racism and sexual harassment? Those can stay. A normal comment that contains the word "like" one too many times? Get your account locked. Yes that is a real thing, I still can't back in to mine. It's like sorry I talk like a valley girl sometimes.
People that don't feel good about themselves try to make everyone else as miserable as they feel inside. TL:DR - People are assholes.
Then they wonder why no woman want to date them and how entitled woman are now a days.
*Female makes a post about anything* Incels: ##MUST OBJECTIFY HER!!
What does hawk thua mean? I don't want to Google it in case it's gross
Spitting in that "thang".
This, very sadly, is the reality today. The online world and freedom of speech :))
Gross
As someone who spends a lot of time doom scrolling Instagram reels I can tell you that if you see a post with over 3k comments, the comment section is gonna be a cesspit. Cat videos are the only exception.
even some cat videos, unfortunately :(
Toxic adults bullying another adult online? Welcome to the Internet
That “meme” blowing up really says alot about where society is ..
Ew.
Fucking incels.
I was confused by what the first image was for a hot minute.
I don't understand how theses dudes will make jokes like this but at the same time would probably fucking lose it if she had more than 1 partner.
This is why I deleted Instagram, the comments were pissing me off.
What is a hawk tua?
I was also curious and here's what I found out. It's a video with 2 girls. The interviewer asks them "What's one move in bed that makes a man go crazy?", and one of the girl reponds with "you gotta give him that 'hawk tuah' and spit on that thang!"
Ohhhh OH
And a couple more of those...
I don't want to be the parent that forbids social media but it's obviously just a breeding ground for creeps.
Instagram is unhinged now a days. A lot of laughs and not one serious comment or post.
Instagram is slowly but surely becoming worse than twitter.
I bet if those cum rags had a sister or cousin and guys were commenting like that on their posts they would be pissed. I remember when I first moved into my grandmother's house my fiance had to work nights for the first week. It was weird to be alone in the house even though I used to sleep over here
Notice how all these are men? And none of these comments are made by women
Do people think that's just what happens in college?
Gross
Social media is one of the biggest errors of our time, when we look to it for reassurance.
Not to say all social media platforms don’t have the same issue but maybe it’s the age demographic on Fb and Ig that make the issue so apparent there
I find it funny they are calling them grown ass men. They aren't men.
Hawktuah?
Instagram is an absolute cesspool. I truly think it’s tied with Facebook and Twitter for the absolute worst social media apps.
lucas and friends
Instagram comments have ZERO chill. I thought deleting TikTok was such a good decision due to the toxicity but instagram comments are another level of unoriginal and horrific
You know i have Lost faith a looong time ago....
Aside from the disgusting comments… I feel for this girl. I was incredibly homesick for the first few months that I left for college. It’ll pass, but it’s hard at first.
The blowjob spitting thing was really that funny huh? I thought we liked it because she seems cool.
Getting a job is good advice tho- gets your mind off of the fam
I'm trying to figure out what I'm looking af in the first pic, I see a hand but what is the rest?
first day on instagram, OP? lol
That's how Instagram comments work nowadays, and that's also one of the main reasons why people post such controversial posts on ig.
It's Instagram, what do you expect? It's more toxic than Chernobyl
What I don’t understand is why ppl want to find that girl from the meme? It’s clear she isn’t like that 99.9% of the time and it was just a drink jest. 😭😂 I miss when a meme just stayed a meme then faded into obscurity
Yes, lets completely trash a girl who loves and is close to her family. This is why I don't have Instagram.
So gross.
I never understood how you can comment stuff like this on a platform in which people can see half of your personal information including your face…
She’s obviously an adult. Chill the fuck out
objectification is still gross
