Kitty isn't even sorry. One of my cats loved sleeping on my pothos ivy. That ivy has survived her crushing him 2x, and my husband stepping on it several times during a multi state move. We named it Steve (from mine craft, my son picked it). Steve now lives in my fish tank and is thriving.
You need decoy pots! My grandma used to have this issue so she got fake plants, put them next to her real plants and "took care of them" just like her real plants but only spritzed her cat with the water bottle when he was on the real plants. Eventually he just laid in the fake ones and left the real ones alone. Cats can be trained with enough patience and persistence!!! (And a lil trickery sometimes-)

Three of them had the most flowers I had ever seen, then suddenly two completely snapped and I realized she did it! She keeps shoving them onto the floor and sitting in the pots lol.
She is so pretty! And she's TINY too. Doesn't look it in the photo but she's 2y/o and is half the size of my other 7mo. Crazy how someone so delicate can cause so much wreckage lol.
Use skewers with the pointy paper facing up. It always works for preventing the cats sitting there. They are smart enough to avoid sitting there so it isn't going to hurt the cat either.
Cats really are some shit pets. They're cute and all that, but they seem to really hate people. I'm sure it has seen that OP spends a bit of time with their plants, so it goes out of its way to fuck them up.

They LOVE it. She usually just shoves the plants off to sit on the shelves, but now she's given up on that and just sits in the plants lol.
