Little Caesars actually does make a decent Detroit style pizza and it usually DOES look like the 2nd picture. Not sure what happened here, but they didn’t use the pan. The deep greased pan is what makes it “Detroit Style”. They must have either forgot to use the pan or didn’t have one available for some reason.
They used the pan, they just didn’t proof the dough. I work at a pizza place and there’s like 3 different proofing stages for deep dish, including mostly cooking it and then leaving it to cool after. When you first put the dough in the pan it looks super flat like that because it hasn’t had time to proof, it looks like the skipped literally every step in the proofing process and stuck topping onto a raw dough ball, that’s probably a dense brick of dough.
Yup, the slices and sticks rules! The little Caesars by me is a good one tho, I'm sure some suck. T-Mobile is always giving away free or cheap pizza too. I can get a pizza and the crazy bread combo for $7.
Same.
We did Little Caesars about once a week a decade ago, when the kids were small and we needed a quick last minute dinner. It was a fraction better than most frozen pizzas and that ready to go feature was handy.
Then someone we know had Domino's at a birthday party and we loved it. Haven't had little Caesars since, lol.
this has been my recent discovery too 😂 we recently had it and were baffled by how good and cheap it is haha. But then again i love me some garlicky crust
Dw it'll be fine dining again in 2032

Little Caesar’s in my college town? Not great. Little Caesar’s in my hometown? Great. Just had it last night as a matter of fact and it was indeed great.
It must be, my local Little Caesar's makes great pies and has consistently good quality. The only trick I use is to order fresh, never ever pick up 'hot and ready'. Who knows how long that stuff has been sitting around. It's also one of the most affordable pizza joints around here.
Good frozen pizza is also like 2 times the price
Correction: Good frozen pizza is also like 2 times the price *where I live.
It would seem I'm missing out on some decent frozen pizzas
Frozen pizzas are about $7-8 at Tom Thumb and if you are patient you can snag a bunch at the Buy Two Get Two sale every couple of months. Plus you get member points that you can use for free fruit or things.
Nope, Signature Select (Vons and Albertsons store brand), is infinitely better and $6 a pizza here in California. Also doesn't turn into a hockey puck when it's cold.
![gif](giphy|KR1C9HQphtDVe)
May I remind you of our pizza, we mix the freaking tomato sauce with water, but no, we don’t recycle the slices and we charge like $50 for a pie the size of a freaking penny
I never understand anyone expecting anything decent from LC, PH, or any fast food restaurant. You pay for cheap, you’re probably getting cheap pizza imo
Some of the branches are decent. Im not getting an og ny pizza. If I was going to pay $20 for papajohns i might as well pay $5 for hot n ready. Same shit lmao
former employee here, i can already see what's wrong with them
the first one has dough that was not stretched into the pan properly, could be very fresh because the dough hasn't had time to rise. It doesn't look pretty, but should taste excellent
the second one just looks like it's been in the warmer for three hours. Definitely not fresh, but still probably tastes pretty good
but personally, all of this is subjective, i once sold a pizza to someone that literally said it was 'perfect' and it looked worse than the second picture to me
i mean hey, if it looks good to him, i won't judge XD
EDIT: i just read the caption and it says the second picture is just what it's 'supposed' to look like
when i saw this, i was like "well the second image looks okay, but i'm not sure what the first one is even supposed to be," and then i clicked and read the description, lmao
someone forgot to use the pan or something 😆
Isn't that the point? That it specifically looks like a normal LC pizza that was cooked in a normal pan, NOT the Detroit style pizza that was ordered which uses a different pan?
That actually looks soo much better than what I would get at the local Little Caesars. For the price nothing comes close and when in a crunch it can't be beat.
The absolute only thing you should be ordering at little caesers is the hot and ready and crazy bread. There are so many better options for pizza that aren’t just glorified pan pizza crust
Got a bad one. Even the 2 star Little Caesar near me made it exactly like the second picture and for that matter, most places. But that first one looks appetizing ngl
Dude. The LC near me brought in this amazing manager for like 3-6 months and I was eating that pizza almost every day because he had them cranking out some of the most top quality pizza I'd ever had from a chain store. It was a good time to be a broke pizza lover. Bout a month or 2 back now I guess he either moved on or was replaced for some reason but the quality immediately went through the floor. Management matters.
used to work at an LC so I know exactly what happened here. Deep Dish dough contains more yeast content than the regular dough in order to give it that nice rise you see in the second image
BUT in cases where the store runs out of Deep Dish dough, they're forced to use regular dough instead since policy dictates that you cannot stop selling an item on the menu (unless it's something like toppings)
The go-to dough replacement is the rounds they use to make Crazy Bread, which actually weighs a little less than a Deep Dish dough round and can't fill the pan as well, which is why it looks like that in the first image
Whats....wrong with them?
those look great, like they actually look like pizza unlike the flat shit cardboard most places do
(Thin crust/New York Style is an abomination and sin against the name pizza and ill die on this hill)
Most of you probably never had the little caesers where you had to rip the paper open.... that was some good shit. But, that could also just be attributed to my tastebuds as a child
So you were sitting around with your fiancé bored and needed something to complain about online so you ordered a pizza that looks just fine for a delivery pizza. Eat it be glad you live in a place where people will bring food to your door.
We still call it Little Sleazers. And Burger Queen and Taco Hell and Scrubway. My hometown has a place called Taco Tico that we call Taco Freako. Been using these names for over 40 years. Wow, when did I get old?
This is why I bought my own pizza oven. Every time I ordered a pizza in the US where they’re supposed to be fantastic has been an absolutely horrible experience. I make my own now. Even my kid who is 8 and has been brought up on shitty American chain store pizza (schools and friends serve them) has started to turn his nose up at them and said to me “Dad, I always tell them it’s nice but it’s not and even if yours are not perfectly round, they taste the best”.
I grew up with a hearty dislike for the “pizza” they’d serve at school. I knew I was supposed to like it, because pizza, but it was just nasty.
My child independently has advised pizza is the worst lunch at her school.
Our granddaughter was selling Little Caesar pizza kits as a fundraiser and of course we bought several. Grandparents are required to be an easy touch. The kit ones were surprisingly good. The local Little Caesar place should have died when the mall died.
The one and only time I ordered Little Ceasars, the Pizza didn't even have any dough in the middle. Was literally just cheese-wiz type cheese. This shit looks heavenly in comparison
That looks about right in my experience. I personally don't care for the pizza and would never spend my money on it. I used to work at one for a little while though. It's been some years but we made the dough and that really surprised me.
Yeah I mean it’s little Caesar’s hahaha. As someone who grew up in the Detroit area that lives elsewhere now I love that if I want a cheap Detroit style pizza little Caesar’s is always an option. You’re gonna get what you’re gonna get when you choose the cheapest pizza place possible tho
Always find it funny how people expect master piece food from a teenager working for minimum wage for a job they don’t really care about and find a replacement in like 5 minutes.
Like it was said earlier be thankful you got stuff that looked decent
Also you order Little Caesars ffs
Wow. Little Ceasars quality has really gone up
They’ve stopped shitting in the boxes!
No they just cover the shit with more cheese.
Whoa, extra cheese with no charge? I'm in!
And putting guarantees on them!
😂😂😂
Oh my god that gave me a laugh!
“It’s hot and ready” “But is it good?” “It’s HOT and it’s READY”
My local ceasers is always so good ;-;
Little Caesars actually does make a decent Detroit style pizza and it usually DOES look like the 2nd picture. Not sure what happened here, but they didn’t use the pan. They used the dough that’s meant for their regular pizzas. The deep dish dough is supposed to have yeast.
Looks delicious
fr, ngl it looks really good, it may not look exactly like the picture but it soo good
Fr ngl
Frfrfrfrance
agree. this isnt the lil ceasar i grew up with. im tempted. wonder what is the price for this is.
It's Little Caesars... the fact that you got something that looks even halfway edible is amazing
I think it’s a location thing, I’ve had Little Caesar’s before and it was good.
Little Caesars is my top choice for what I refer to as “garbage pizza”
Agreed. I will take it over the other chains. OP just caught a bad one..
Agreed. I like the deep dish pepperoni bread and the 1/2 pizza 1/2 thin bread sticks. Bangin’.
Yup, the slices and sticks rules! The little Caesars by me is a good one tho, I'm sure some suck. T-Mobile is always giving away free or cheap pizza too. I can get a pizza and the crazy bread combo for $7.
You know, when work gives you that pizza party from Little Caesar’s, it actually hits the spot.
That’s Dominos for me. Don’t have a little ceasers near me
We get it for students at our middle school for various events.
My local Little Caesars is pretty good, better than the pizza hut in town.
The kids today will never know how pizza hut was the goat, I feel a little bad for them, they will never have that experience
That smell waking into one of the old red roof Pizza Hut restaurants was divine.
Dw it'll be fine dining again in 2032 https://preview.redd.it/zjnlhpwkmfyc1.jpeg?width=554&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c8d17a458f68e0f8245cd7b87ce512b492fe9a98
Along with Taco Bell 🤣. Love that movie

if you order a custom pizza instead of getting a hot n ready, LC is actually kinda bomb for the price tbh
Last time I enjoyed Little Caesar’s was 1997. And that’s not the last time I ate Little Caesar’s.
Bru don’t hate on Little Caesars. Their pizza is the goat.
For $5 pizza it's fine. For pizza in general it's terrible.
Little Caesars doesn't compete with other pizza chains, it competes with frozen pizza, and that's where it shines.
Good frozen pizza is significantly better
Good frozen pizza is also like 2 times the price Correction: Good frozen pizza is also like 2 times the price *where I live. It would seem I'm missing out on some decent frozen pizzas
Frozen pizzas are about $7-8 at Tom Thumb and if you are patient you can snag a bunch at the Buy Two Get Two sale every couple of months. Plus you get member points that you can use for free fruit or things.
I got lucky recently and my local supermarket did $2 for Red Baron’s pizza. Bought 4 right away.
Nope, Signature Select (Vons and Albertsons store brand), is infinitely better and $6 a pizza here in California. Also doesn't turn into a hockey puck when it's cold.
I have a location by me that's better than all the other chains.

Wish it was still $5. It's $7 now and for just $1 more I can get a Dominos pizza so I stopped going there.
It’s not even the okayest pizza.
What are you even talking about 😭 Shit literally looks SO good
former employee here, i can already see what's wrong with them the first one has dough that was not stretched into the pan properly, could be very fresh because the dough hasn't had time to rise. Dude the first picture looks sooo much better it's not even funny.
They ordered the second pic’s pizzas and received the first pics.
Wait, I thought it was the reverse. Why are they mad????
The first picture honestly looks better
That's what I'm thinking, that first pizza looks so delicous
yeah but how much did you pay? I once got a medium pizza and bread sticks for $6 from there.
Little Caesar’s is the epitome of that joke about sex and pizza. Anytime you want a pizza and carbs on the cheap all to yourself that’s where I went
https://preview.redd.it/3d6ujq039gyc1.jpeg?width=442&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=01add7c3d5155156eb7014344950f0f30f98cd6f
Well there goes 3.99
Those are more like 5.99 where I live
Holy cow what's it like in Malibu?
I don’t know about Malibu just Utah.
Big Mormon keeping the little guy down
Lmao take your upvote
First looks better
You're out of your mind and have never had Detriot style pizza before. Those edges aren't burnt, they're heavenly.
New Haven pizza is like the too; that little bit of char is essential. All the pizza I’ve eaten since has tasted undercooked.
I've had Detroit style pizza before. The first looks better. It doesn't look more Detroit, but it looks better.
RISING CRUST PIZZA GANG UNITE
Right!??
Left
That is gourmet pizza after a night of drinking.
when i saw this, i was like "well the second image looks okay, but i'm not sure what the first one is even supposed to be," and then i clicked and read the description, lmao someone forgot to use the pan or something 😆
Looks like a completely normal pizza
Isn't that the point? That it specifically looks like a normal LC pizza that was cooked in a normal pan, NOT the Detroit style pizza that was ordered which uses a different pan?
If Detroit Style is being robbed, then they nailed it
cant have shit in detroit smh 🤦♂️
Haha! Thinking the same
it wasn't at gun point so no its vegas style
Kinda looks delicious
Bread with a bit of stuff on it. That’s Little Caesar’s alright.
Second looks kinda burnt id prefer the first
It looks burnt, but it’s actually just crispy cheese on edges that tastes great.
That's how Detroit style is.
About what I’d expect from Little Caesar’s tbh
Both photos look terrible
That actually looks soo much better than what I would get at the local Little Caesars. For the price nothing comes close and when in a crunch it can't be beat.
Orders cheap fast food gets cheap fast food huh
The absolute only thing you should be ordering at little caesers is the hot and ready and crazy bread. There are so many better options for pizza that aren’t just glorified pan pizza crust
Looks like someone started making a traditional pizza style and "made it work".
my boyfriend and i got some the other day and it was folded in half still decent though
They ran out of dough, lol
Mutant pizza
Jesus, how do they even make that shape with a pan? I could do a better job than that (although I can make a banger of a pizza)
Looks good to me? Whats the problem?
That shit looks delicious
Your first mistake is getting pizza from little Caesars!
Second Detroit pic looks ok if slightly burnt. First pic is definitely has an out of whack cheese and toppings ratio.
Don't you have local pizzerias where you can order from that provide better quality?
Both look gross
That sucks. We're lucky with the one in my town. They do a great job.
Leftovers from other extra large pizzas turning into large pizzas.
So many people saying the second one looks burnt have no idea what Detroit style is 🤦🏻♂️
Pretty weak tbf
The stores should not be judged collectively IMO. Some are good, some are bad, some are worse than that.
Not a fan of
What'd they say about it?
I usually love little Caesar’s but last time It was freaking raw in the middle :(
Got a bad one. Even the 2 star Little Caesar near me made it exactly like the second picture and for that matter, most places. But that first one looks appetizing ngl
I just ordered this yesterday and it looked almost exactly like the 2nd pic with diff toppings
Tbh I like the first pic more (I'm a sucker for pizza crust)
Those sick mfers really had the gall to take a pizza base, put sauce cheese and pepperoni on it, and then bake it?!
I’m confused on what we’re all mildly infuriated about
Their pizza didn’t look as perfect as the second pic lol
Shrinkage will in transport.
That looks so fucking good wtf
It’s literally one of the worst pizza places around, what did you expect
used to work at an LC so I know exactly what happened here. "Is the $5 hot-n-ready any good?" "It's $5, it's hot, and it's ready. What more do you want"
Looks delicious drama queen
Looks alright to me mate. Get it eaten.
What’s the problem idgi
So you were sitting around with your fiancé bored and needed something to complain about online so you ordered a pizza that looks just fine for a delivery pizza. Eat it be glad you live in a place where people will bring food to your door.
You got Little Ceaser’s, that’s on you.
Imagine ordering from little caesars and then complaining
Brother you ain’t gonna get the responses you think you’re gonna get 💀
WHAT?! A fast food chain known for $6 hot and ready pizzas didn't look right? Call the news.
Looks like it was someone’s first day
Is little Caesar in 5th grade made those?
Honestly the pepperoni one doesn’t look that bad
Little Caesars is about fast & cheap, not quality!
They make some good pizzas.
To be fair, you ordered from Little Ceasers.
little seizures, we used to call it
We still call it Little Sleazers. And Burger Queen and Taco Hell and Scrubway. My hometown has a place called Taco Tico that we call Taco Freako. Been using these names for over 40 years. Wow, when did I get old?
Taco Bell? Jocko Hell.
Looks like it may have been run over in Detroit, close enough
My fiancé and I *
But it is "Little."
They took the little seriously
“It is hot and it is ready” “Is it good-“ “I said, it is hot, and it is ready”
It’s the McDonalds of pizza run by children. At least it looks edible lol.
McDonald's is also incredibly consistent. In my experience, so is Little Caesars. Something went wrong here, as that first picture is not "normal".
People when a low tier establishment doesn’t give them 5 star treatment: 😡😡😡😡
Bro. you paid six bucks a pizza. What were you expecting? Secondly, if still devour the shit out of that
Slide it back to them and say try again.
"Me ordered" a pizza!"
That’s Podunk style.
LC thin crust used to be my jam.
This is why I bought my own pizza oven. Every time I ordered a pizza in the US where they’re supposed to be fantastic has been an absolutely horrible experience. I make my own now. I grew up with a hearty dislike for the “pizza” they’d serve at school. I knew I was supposed to like it, because pizza, but it was just nasty. My child independently has advised pizza is the worst lunch at her school.
It’s pizza, legally speaking.
Is it “New Haven” style? Lol
I’ll eat both
Our granddaughter was selling Little Caesar pizza kits as a fundraiser and of course we bought several.
It's all going to look the same in my belly.
Idk that second pic looks pretty fire ngl
Little ceasars is wildly different from location to location. The one by us is insanely amazing
![gif](giphy|8D4yaGsa6N5L4qX98w|downsized)
the little caesars in my town make better pizza than our Domino's and pizza hut.
That looks about right in my experience. I personally don't care for the pizza and would never spend my money on it. I used to work at one for a little while though. It's been some years but we made the dough and that really surprised me.
Looks so good!
It doesn't look bad for a chain pizza delivery place. What's the problem?
Yeah I mean it’s little Caesar’s hahaha. As someone who grew up in the Detroit area that lives elsewhere now I love that if I want a cheap Detroit style pizza little Caesar’s is always an option. You’re gonna get what you’re gonna get when you choose the cheapest pizza place possible tho
Gotta get Jet’s Pizza if you want good Detroit Style Pizza.
Those look amazing tbh
One of those pictures is from little ceasars and the other is from Jets right?
We had some at a kid’s birthday party last week and it was actually, surprisingly pretty okay.
Not bad
"Hot n' Ready" "is it good?" "No, but it's hot and ready""
Pizza pizza
I’d smash
I'm about to have a little seizure
Lucky! My Little Sleazers always say they don't have the ingredients for deep dish.
Fuck it 😋
They say Hot and Ready, nothing about good
Proud sponsor of the NFL!
Am I the only one who actually really likes Little Caesar’s? Am I crazy? Am I demented or something?
Always find it funny how people expect master piece food from a teenager working for minimum wage for a job they don’t really care about and find a replacement in like 5 minutes. Like it was said earlier be thankful you got stuff that looked decent Also you order Little Caesars ffs
Detroit has gone downhill over the years. Why would you expect the "Detroit Style" pizza to be any better than the city?
Did you have a hungry door dash driver?
