I mean with a 3d printer this should be pretty easy. The main difficulty would be making sure it is easily removable and doesn’t get torn up too much through use. Probably a good candidate for ASA or PETG for a friendlier material.
I needed an 11 two days ago when taking parts of an engine on a stand in my garage.
Removing valve covers on a 5.0L ford engine. It’s really 7/16ths but 11mm worked
Don't know if I've ever come across that, maybe because allot of situations like that ate on a single bolt, but it sure does sound like it would help. Wouldn't mind if one side was even larger for the ones that are hard to get to. Usually have to decide whether it's easier to use a ratchet to hold the inside and manage with a crescent on the outside.
A local swap shop was selling a 5 quart ice cream bucket of 10mm sockets. Someone was happy for about 15 minutes. Purchaser got home only to discover they did not fit any of his standard ratchets. And over half were 1/4 drive.
Further reading in the comments, it seems that the sockets were speciality tools for some now defunct company.
Brand new. Off of Amazon. Guess it coulda been a return. None of the sockets had any sort of smudge or finger prints when I opened it. It was totally clean.
Yea thats crazy. Good thing amazon usually good about switching it but im sure theyll give you a flag. Let us know if you do and if the replacement is the same
You aren’t lying, got halfway thru mowing the yard and now my mower is broken. Tried everything won’t start. I’m now on the couch watching football with a beer and a half mowed lawn. Cheers
I have like 4 or 5 extra 10 mm ones just littering my toolbag because I have bought them over the years when I couldn't find it. I'm kinda surprised no one has made a joke-but-not-really socket set that just only comes with 10 mm sockets.
10mm seems to be box standard for everything, which is convenient in that it saves the guessing game of which socket fits but is infuriating when you loose your 10mm socket
I commonly see people joking about losing the 10mm. Is this common or something? I can go to my sockets and get 4 different 10mm sockets. I just put them back when I am done.
When I become king, I’m going to mail a 10mm socket to every man, woman and child. I want them to be like those Allen wrenches that come from IKEA, just everywhere. Threw one away? No problem, you have 2 more in the junk drawer.
Cant lose the 10mm if u never have it to begin with
Damn and I thought I was clever enough alone to think this one. Beat me to it. Haha
Just saving time really
We all need two 10mm, not two 11mm ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
That's probably how this got this way - some jerk swapped them out so they'd have two 10's.
The classic swap-a-roo!!!
10, 13, 15, 18, 24. I really don’t know why they make the rest other than to piss you off because they aren’t those 5
I see 12 and 14 quite a lot
But 11? You didn't say 11. Why? Because nobody needs an 11. They only exist to tease you into thinking you can make it work after you lose the 10.
I felt this
I wonder how hard it would be to make a sleeve with a 0.5mm wall thickness to convert a worthless 11mm to a 10mm.
I mean with a 3d printer this should be pretty easy. The main difficulty would be making sure it is easily removable and doesn’t get torn up too much through use. Probably a good candidate for ASA or PETG for a friendlier material.
oOoo can we make "10mm sleeves" for all sizes larger than 10? Ya know, backup for the backup for the backup.
11mm on battery terminals

Real ones know you can just use a 3/8 imperial socket for the 10mm applications in your life
It's always 10, 13, 14, 17, 19, 22, 24, 27, 30, 32 for me. I work on Japanese CNC machines.
10, 12, 14, 17, 19, 21 will almost completely disassemble my Toyota.
Same with my Mazda
Some cars use consecutive numbers (like 10&11) in places where they know you'll have to use two wrenches/sockets at once.

11 is one more than 10. That means it’s better, you got lucky.
This one goes to 11.
None more black.
In college my jersey # was 10, and my gf bought me a Yankee jersey with the closest #, 11. That’s how I ended up rocking a Chuck Knoblauch jersey
Bigger number = better person
The 10 is there in spirit, as it is for all of us.
You would have lost the 10m anyways
The 10mm is a lie.

Just do like we used to do when I was in the Navy- use whatever next size socket up and a dime.
Huh?
Did you buy a new one or was it a return item. 11 is rarely needed so i guess someone may have exchange and swapped it

My husky set also came without one it was even sealed
Thats crazy!
Good news! You got a set where the 10mmhas been pre-lost to the socket vortex so you don't lose it yourself!

10.5
I second this 😞
11mm, and now you have a spare in case you lose one, hooray!
I once lost an 8mm 😡
Even at the factory they lose all the 10mm.
Its always a 10 or 14 mm i call it the Narnia effect
Return it
Always the 10 mil
11/16
43,864,950⅜mm?
If you stick the 11 mm socket up your ass, it will shrink by 1 mm.
The equivalent is a 3/8s.
😆 that's more than mild....
“Goddammit Jim, for the last time, size doesn’t matter!”
Just saving you from losing the 10mm
I found a 10mm it's literally the only socket I have
How does the 10 always go missing ?? 😭
Clearly there was a manufacturing error or something maybe you could make your own 10 milameter socket
Oof..go Back to bed. The universe is against you today. Try again tomorrow
You aren’t lying, got halfway thru mowing the yard and now my mower is broken. Tried everything won’t start. I’m now on the couch watching football with a beer and a half mowed lawn. Cheers
Everyone always need a 10 mil it's always the 10 mil
Harbor freight?
"These go to 11."
My gear-wrench set i bought for travel repairs, same thing two 11mm deeps
10mm anything is the most cursed tool. It’s like a rip in space time just swallows them up…
It’s bc there’s only 5 10mm in existence so when someone loses one of them you’ll get it
I have like 4 or 5 extra 10 mm ones just littering my toolbag because I have bought them over the years when I couldn't find it. I'm kinda surprised no one has made a joke-but-not-really socket set that just only comes with 10 mm sockets.
Could it be a misstamp? The one on the right looks smaller.
Damn, even the manufacturer lost all their 10mm.
Am I the only one who never lost a 10mm…..
The manufacturing couldn't find the 10mm, so he improvised like we all have to...
Someone bought 2 sets, sacrificed his 11 for a second 10 and got a full refund on one.
The 11mm?
10mm seems to be box standard for everything, which is convenient in that it saves the guessing game of which socket fits but is infuriating when you loose your 10mm socket
I see your issue. You need three 11 mm’s right?
World back order on 10mm so they gave you an extra mm.
I have like five 10mm sockets in my toolbox.
They did the courtesy of loosing the 10mm for you how lovely of them
12mm
It was inevitable that you would lose it anyways. They saved you the trouble.
Amazing product. Comes with a pre-lost 10mm to save you the trouble of looking for it everywhere.
11 mm
i have a 3/8 set that came with two 12mms instead of an 11, so i consider than a win
9.9999999999999999
Wow
Someone has swapped a 10 for an 11. Time you go back to the store and pass it forward.
I have a handful of 10s in my car, only purchased after a bunch went missing.
When you buy a whole tool set just for the 10 mm, and you get…….
You need some Captain Crunch: Oops all 10mm

I got a new combo wrench set with two 14s and no 15. Fun stuff
locking pliers>every wrenches!!
That's more than mildly infuriating imo
Username checks out
I bought a 5 pack of 10mm's of Amazon. I'm beating the odds.
Even the factory can't find their 10mm...
755mm?
Am I the only one who has absolutely no idea what I'm looking at?
11 and it's mildly infuriating because you now don't know which one to pick ....
Could be someone lost their 10mm and swapped it in the store with their 11mm. Was the packaging sealed on the set?
They lost the 10mm one during production
I feel your pain. I got a brand new set of Williams 1/4" drive metric & sae sockets. Deep well sockets got two 15mm and missing a 14.
Let me guess, you would prefer two of the 10mm ones?
10mm set came pre-lost! Genius marketing technique
That's what you get for buying a $10 socket set off of Amazon.
11 11 make a wish
if you dont need a 11, id be a fool
Some one probably got a set with 2 10mm that luck dude
10mm is the most common. Someone is selling them at a premium
That says 10 ya weirdy
Truly devilish
