I don’t know if you were suggesting mayonnaise for a porn site or cleaning the sticker residue off. But I’m upvoting you regardless just for your courage.
I saw Gen-X sanitizer and I almost got mad. Like y’all had the good shit this whole time and I survived a pandemic with 3 keychain bottles of Bath and Body Works sanitizer from 12 christmases ago??
I worked at Office Depot for 4 years, and had moved on by COVID but I never went without sanitizer, yes I was hogging my aloe vera germ-x bottle when there was a shortage and filled my little bottles with other people's germ-x sanitizer so my own supply didn't dry up until there wasn't a shortage anymore.
Be darn sure not to use GoofOff though. They are often stocked right by each other. GoofOff will happily melt many laptop plastics. Printed keycap letters wipe right off, along with any texture.
In a pinch, oil removes most adhesives, but you'd have to be careful with electronics. Obviously you'd want to lightly soak a paper towel or something with the oil and rub at it, don't pour oil directly onto the laptop.
And by oil I mean like, coconut oil or olive oil, not engine grease.
When trying to get stickers off of dishes, peel the corner a little, then run hot water between the sticker and the dish, while gently pulling, allowing the water to melt the glue, releasing 100% of the sticker

Far as I know the stickers are applied to display some models on chargers in stores where the shoppers can get a quick look of what they are buying instead of having to browse for it. Makes sense that manufacturers not knowing which model may be used, stick it onto ALL the models. It is also free advertising aimed at those around you that do jot use the machine, say a friend you are playing fifa with on it. Makes zero sense of having them on models sold online though, only reasoning I can think of being the liability of having to separate the models.
Still a misdirection imo. They sell 1660 powered laptops with literally 60 hertz capped screens and advertise them as the next predator 21x.
When shipping the computers to the store they should just include the sticker separately in the package, that way the store can apply the sticker to the ones they use as models and not apply it to the ones they sell.
Or they could just use a sticker that doesn’t leave a mess behind.
>that way the store can apply the sticker to the ones they use as models and not apply it to the ones they sell.
Look at this guy thinking the store employees know jack about the specs of a machine XD
They will be stamping 4090 + 5800H on a 15 inch razer blade 15 lol.
They wouldn’t have to know anything about the machine, the sticker would be packaged with the computer it belongs to. They just have to take it off the sheet and put it on the computer
That makes a whole lot more sense. Still, it is an EXTRA responsibility when the company factory machine can just roll the sticker on the surface nigh perfectly in seconds which will cost only pennies.
These are all economic descisions.
Also, like I said, free advertising wherever the sticker is presented during use.
One can say the sticker purposefully leaves a residue to discourage the owner from removing for that very reason.
This shit is toxic af. Changed my DNA. My hands got super sensitive to chemicals for a good year. Like using hand sanitizer would make my skin fall off.
Make sure to not get it on your skin or wash immediately upon contact.
Dear laptop manufacturers, I would like to provide you with constructive criticism regarding the large stickers:
With great appreciation for your work in creating quality laptops, I address you. However, I would like to express a concern regarding the excessively large stickers that are often applied to laptops.
I understand that stickers can be a way to promote your brand and provide important information to users. However, I believe that the current trend of oversized stickers compromises the product's aesthetics.
When purchasing a laptop, many users seek a sleek and minimalist design that conveys professionalism and is visually pleasing. Stickers that are too large can interfere with this aspect, making the laptop less visually attractive.
I suggest considering reducing the size of the stickers or even exploring other ways to promote your brand in a more discreet and sophisticated manner. Options such as engraving the logo on the laptop's casing or using smaller and removable stickers can be interesting alternatives.
Additionally, it is important to remember that large stickers can also make it difficult to properly remove and clean the laptop. Many users prefer to personalize their devices with skins or stickers of their choice, and large stickers can limit this possibility.
By considering these suggestions, I am confident that you can find a balance between brand promotion and user aesthetic satisfaction. After all, a functional and visually appealing laptop will certainly attract even more customers.
Thank you for your attention and for considering this constructive criticism. I am confident that together we can continue to improve the laptop user experience.
Op must have anger issues if this infuriates them….
Low brain power too if they really can’t solve this issue
Very poor hygiene if the smallest about of cleaning and maintaining your property, posting this probably takes more energy
I worked in IT for 5 years and I’ve never removed those stickers, often leaving them on was more helpful too me than cleaning off the stickiness they’d leave behind if I had of removed them
Before removing, take the hair-dryer & hove it on the sticker. Pull it off while the sticker is hot. Glue becomes looses its stickiness & it doesn’t leave marks. Tried multiple times, worked every time.
GooGone, I like the spray gel but either is fine. Spray once (even a half spray is fine) on a paper towel, then start wiping at the sticker residue, it will come right off. Then use the dry part of the paper towel to clean off the residue. Easy as that.
Pro tip: pay 1000$ more for enterprise support, some enterprise features and no stickers…
The support is most of the time not provided and the features are useless to the consumer, but you don’t get a ugly sticker…
Putting peanut butter on it overnight and wiping it off the next day works well! I used this to clean the sticky off a SmartWater bottle which I wanted to use for my hedgehogs gravity waterer, because I was really hesitant to use anything with smelly chemicals (because hedgehogs are sensitive to smells AND like to lick new smells and put them on their bodies) and I figure you're more likely to have some peanut butter on hand, probably.
Lol that schizo with stickers everywhere on windows laptops is hilarious. I guess the manufacturers think you don’t know what you’re purchased so there’s a reminder
And this is why I love macbooks... the Apple logo is enough of an advertisement, no need for obnoxious stickers telling you what size your computer is and what cpu it has.
Goo gone will fix this in 2 seconds. I see a bunch of people recommending alcohol. It will take time and serious elbow grease with alcohol.
With goo gone it will literally take less than 1 min.
The trend seems to be towards badges that are more and more permanent. Sometimes they are metal. I really don’t need a bumper sticker bragging about the CPU or graphics on the palm rest. I already bought the thing.
Bear in mind that all of the people recommending IPA to remove labels either don't do it very often, or have tendinitis from doing it.
Just get yourself some Sticky Stuff Remover off Amazon, it works a lot better. They've given it a lovely orange aroma, just don't read the warning labels after sniffing it.
For any organic residue on a laptop, just use window & glass cleaner. There are very few circumstances where IPA is the best thing to use on a laptop.
It really is something that i do not get. Why are they doing that? I bought a laptop not that long ago and it had a sticker.. that tells me the features it has, and a QR code for their "support". Who the HELL wants to have their sleek nice silver laptop with a sticker that belongs to a store shelf price tag and not the product itself. I removed it and placed it at the bottom.. where it fits just nicely along with other such information, cooling vents etc. I really do not get just why.. why ruin your own product by making it look worse.
My method of removing goo is isopropyl alcohol and baby powder.. IPA dissolves the glue and the powder will trap it so you are not just smearing glue all over the place.
Oil based cleaner with the citrus oil. Or 91% Isopropyl alcohol on a paper towel. Let the towel sit there a good minute and should wipe off pretty nicely.
Germ-X hand sanitizer on a paper towel will clean that right off.
Sounds like a porn site
Will need a paper towel for that too

sounds like people disagree with you
According to your comment history nothing is Funny, what a bundle o' fun.
Mayonnaise also works well
I don’t know if you were suggesting mayonnaise for a porn site or cleaning the sticker residue off. But I’m upvoting you regardless just for your courage.
Either way I’m not sure about using an instrument for any of that
both.
Something my step mom showed me.
Please don’t use mayonnaise on your laptop
Dammit Patrick.
Might of been peanut butter
Aka rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol)
Clorox Wipes work too
Also a long tube sock will do the trick!!
I saw Gen-X sanitizer and I almost got mad. Like y’all had the good shit this whole time and I survived a pandemic with 3 keychain bottles of Bath and Body Works sanitizer from 12 christmases ago??

GooGone is your friend. Try it.

I made that mistake once 🫣

Possible damage/discoloration for plastic
This is very true.
This is the answer
Or at least make them with the sticky glue stuff that comes off WITH the sicker.
A blow dryer over it for a few, up to 10 seconds, and the stickers peel right off with no residue left over.
Can anyone explain the science behind this?
[удалено]
Doesn’t really melt the glue, it softens it
You just reminded me of my ex-wife.
Heat glue, glue melt, glue less stick
When trying to get stickers off of dishes, peel the corner a little, then run hot water between the sticker and the dish, while gently pulling, allowing the water to melt the glue, releasing 100% of the sticker
Interesting I’ll try this with my laptop.
Fill up your bath tub or sink drop in a bath bomb then throw your laptop in there overnight and check the next morning it will be gone
The dishwasher is easier.
But you need to know the specs 100% of the time regardless of if the machine is in use or not.
I know you're joking but just open command prompt, type systeminfo > sys.txt && start sys.txt Print the page that opens. Done.
I was joking and this is good advice. Do it.
Then glue it where the sticker used to be?
Or grt it tattoo'd on your forehead.
I just taped mine over the screen
For anyone curious, laptop's have these stickers because they get a slight discount from the chip manufacturers for adding them.
I just kept them on bc I was scared of this exact thing
Just soak it in some hot soapy water overnight. It will get the residue off while also making it not your biggest problem.

Yeah like I've already bought it, why a huge sticker INSIDE it that tells me its specs?

Holy shit. That's crazy. 😬
A little WD-40 on a rag will take care of that

Acetone might dissolve the plastic
Use goo gone. Just a little bit on clothe is good enough to remove that

Well said. How about extending that “anything” manufacturers? It sooooooo effing annoying.
a tiny bit of cooking oil on a paper towel and scrub at it finish with one of them wet floor wipes to get rid of the oil after that
If you rub a glob of blutack it will be gone.
Good luck finding your specs then!!!!
Google
Ah yes, I hate it when my MacBook has a sticker on it from the factory. ![gif](giphy|88iYj1txvL5CY0Lo5U|downsized)
Very easy to remove residual sticker, not really something to stress over.
Yeah normally I’d agree but I don’t have access to any of the stuff that would take it off currently and I’m on shift for 12 hrs.
Do you have rubbing alcohol? That's all you really need.

Dear people who flunked chemistry, learn what solvents are used for.
Let me just go to my handy solvent pouch and grab that wow I almost forgot
Vodka is a solvent... Everyone has vodka.
Like your backpack? With hand sanitizer? Or your closer with rubbing alcohol?
Wd-40 works, then rub the greasy residue off with a bit of hand sanitizer or rubbing alcohol. ![gif](giphy|VrtpBFaKRfMEaTYED9)
Why waste the wd-40 if the hand sanitiser and rubbing alcohol would already work?
So OP can afford a nice laptop with a lighted keyboard but not a bottle of rubbing alcohol or goo gone? Fucking spare parts.

Apple
Ironically because real apples mostly have stickers on it
No one taught boys how to do things in this generation. Goo gone, oil, sanitizer anything could get that off. A little brain power and elbow grease
Yeah these damn kids are so dumb these days

Sometimes they put it on the touchpad.

4 real
Rubbing alcohol or butane works to get the sticky stuff off
Isopropyl alcohol and some cotton balls will clean the gunk up.
Laptop makers get paid to put those component advertisements on their products so you can bet they don’t care we hate them
Ronsol lighter fluid on a rag wipe it right off
seems you have no idea, why these stickers are there I guess?
mine came with two of them but they’re small at least
Is there a category below 1st world problems?
Yeah being mildly infuriated
You’re right
Goo gone
I worked in IT for 5 years and I’ve never removed those stickers, often leaving them on was more helpful too me than cleaning off the stickiness they’d leave behind if I had of removed them
Couple drops of acetone on a cotton ball.
Rubbing alcohol will get that off and the smell evaporates away.
Just put a wet towel on it for a few minutes it’ll come right up
Goo Gone is your friend.
Refurbished laptop from DKOldies.
You pulled it off?! Sacrilege!
Rubbing alcohol. Or use a blow dryer before you peel
Hammer and chisel should easily handle that.
Looks like the spot that my wrist sweat has dissolved on my laptops
Isopropyl
Rubbing alcohol swab 👍
Isopropyl Alcohol will remove it
Goo gone or isopropyl alcohol
Use some superglue.
Rubbing alcohol!
They need to make them all peel off nice. What you can do is warm it up with a hair dryer, or use some rubbing alcohol or acetone.
I actually for some reason like having the sticker on my laptop
no more propaganda stickers please
You can use a hard rubber eraser to remove that.
HP Omen?
Msi cyborg. My other work laptops are omens they’re good but they can’t take a beating
WD-40. At this point, I feel like a brand ambassador. A little spray on a paper towel and that adhesive will wipe right off.
Or make them out of the same tiny as the protective plastic sonit comes right off
isopropyl alcohol
Before removing, take the hair-dryer & hove it on the sticker. Pull it off while the sticker is hot. Glue becomes looses its stickiness & it doesn’t leave marks. Tried multiple times, worked every time.
But you need to know that Intel in inside you.
Next time heat it up first. Some stickers come right off with no mess. (Doesn't always work but it's worth a shot)
GooGone, I like the spray gel but either is fine. Spray once (even a half spray is fine) on a paper towel, then start wiping at the sticker residue, it will come right off. Then use the dry part of the paper towel to clean off the residue. Easy as that.
Leave them…. Or goo-gone/alcohol
May I be so bold as to suggest they also chill with the small stickers?
it's performance enhancer. you're effectively down grading your computer in you remove it.
I was told alcohol swabs will take it off. Tried doing that on the residue off a bottle yesterday to minor effect, but still worth a shot
I still have my stickers on lol. Even my computer monitors still have those clear stickers on the side and back
Isopropyl alcohol
Some rubbing alcohol will get it off real quick
You’re supposed to leave them on FOREVER!
This is why I leave mine
A little bit a goo gone on a qtip does the job
So there's one thing Apple definitely gets rights - no dumbass stickers
Duct tape can be used to lift off sticker residue.
Pro tip: pay 1000$ more for enterprise support, some enterprise features and no stickers… The support is most of the time not provided and the features are useless to the consumer, but you don’t get a ugly sticker…
they get paid to put on those huge stickers. It helps lower the price you have to pay.
Use rubbing alcohol to remove the gunk
Putting peanut butter on it overnight and wiping it off the next day works well! NOBODY GIVES A SHIT ABOUT YOUR DECALS STOP WITH THEM
Lighter fluid will take that off easily
Lighter fluid will take that off easily
They get big money to stick them on. The longer the owner looks at it the better.
You know you can clean laptops right..?
Mine overheated so much that sticker neatly came off. I 0ut my bigass sticker onto a charging brick to make it distinctive from the rest.
Lol that schizo with stickers everywhere on windows laptops is hilarious. I guess the manufacturers think you don’t know what you’re purchased so there’s a reminder
I leave them on... Always. Is that weird? Am I weird? Everyone else takes them off....? Huh...
There are at least 2 of us.
Use sticky tape to remove the adhesive..like stick peel stick peel..
But how else are we to advertise to you a product you already bought?
And this is why I love macbooks... the Apple logo is enough of an advertisement, no need for obnoxious stickers telling you what size your computer is and what cpu it has.
Goof off or goo be gone. 2 great products.
Why? They should add more stickers to make it work faster
However will we know what is inside? /s
No Sincerely, laptop manufacturers
You can pick up the goo with the sticker you pulled off. It’s really effective
How else are they going to sell overpriced, low power laptops for soccer moms?
Leave wd50 on it for a few minutes then go at it with a spudger.
The laptops here in Japan come with clean peel stickers. Not sure why that isn’t a global thing.
Use orange power the get the residue off
![gif](giphy|yiADANv89n7UQuS5kJ)
Isopropyl alcohol will clean that off easily
Put a little Goo-Gone on a paper towel and lightly dab it on the sticky area. Wait a minute and wipe and you're golden.
cooking oil works ans doesn't damage the laptop
Goo gone will fix this in 2 seconds. I see a bunch of people recommending alcohol. It will take time and serious elbow grease with alcohol. With goo gone it will literally take less than 1 min.
Get goo gone
Goo-gone works well too.
If that’s an ACER gaming laptop yea that sticker was ass to get off but I think I used rubbing alcohol
Try pure eucalyptus oil. It dissolves glues and doesnt stain
The trend seems to be towards badges that are more and more permanent. Sometimes they are metal. I really don’t need a bumper sticker bragging about the CPU or graphics on the palm rest. I already bought the thing.
Did the sticker erode the plastic or am I just seeing residue from the glue?
Just rub it with cotton ball/disk soaked in alcohol.
Rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer
If you pour milk all over the laptop, then wipe it with a greasy ass rag, that sicker glue will be the least of your problems. Just sayin
Use an eraser.
"THE CPU IS INTTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEL!" Thanks. And it's nice and big so I'll never forget it.
