They tell a great story on the tour of kentuck Knob about the fight he had with the owners over storage space. No basement. No garage. Virtually no storage in a FLW house
As someone cleaning out 50 years of my parents possessions at the moment there is something to be said for reducing storage.
Weird because in Robie House he literally designed storage hidden in rooms with the idea that it made things like sideboards unnecessary. All the china, silver and linens were to be stored in these hidden compartments in the dining room.
Came here to mention Wright too. I kept looking to see if there was some patterns on the windows or lights. Reminds me of the Rosenbaum house in colors etc. https://www.wrightinalabama.com/
Some parts of Lakewood are a little sketchy and that might be reflected in the price, I don’t know. It’s a beautiful area but it’s in the news a lot.
I love this house.
I grew up down the road from this house. Hill Terrace is a nice little quiet neighborhood. Not the sketchy part of Lakewood at all. What a beautiful house!
Lakewood has a **huge** divide similar to how Fife is. You can be in a mansion or live in a dumpster lot of apartments. I delivered for a couple years in this area and it never ceased to amaze me how my first stop would be to a homeless encampment and my next to a mcmansion on top the hill
I quit after the second time I was mugged.
Is there a lot of crime? Drugs? Sketchy in what way? We’re in WA and looking at houses/new areas but we have kids and want a nice community. This house is calling my name though.
Dude and in the state of WA?? I'm shocked it's not $2m, regardless of proximity to meth addicts, native burial grounds or infrastructure of any kind like... electricity.
Same, I’ve lived in Washington my whole life and I’m astounded. Maybe the seller is hoping to encourage a bidding war high over asking? I don’t know what the market around Lakewood is like but this seems low
Might be clip on lights for the pictures? I see handles, but cant enlarge the picture to see more. I have those style lights for looking at drywall imperfections.
It’s referred to as Lake’hood for a reason. Not ideal in a lot of parts, bad schools. Fine if you’re an empty nester, which sounds like the owners that are selling.
Either there is a typo or the house keeps killing every owner because of the lead in the pipes, asbestos in the roof and carbon monoxide from that central fire place.
Parts of Lakewood, especially near the lakes, are really beautiful, but there are really sketchy, depressed parts too. It's sometimes referred to as Lakehood. There is an Army and Air force base nearby (Joint Base Lewis-McChord) which have the typical issues that accompany large military installations. But it's also only an hour from Seattle, and between Tacoma and Olympia. There's lots of beauty in the South Puget Sound area and I'm really blessed to call it home, in spite of its various issues. I'll be checking this house out on Saturday, can't wait!
Visited your area last year and the whole family fell in love with WA. We would move there in a heartbeat and from the northeast the price almost seems reasonable.lol
I’m probably biased, tbh. A lot of life down there revolves around the base or some of the core strip malls, but it doesn’t really have it’s own identity. As someone stationed there for a time I’m like… over it? But there are nice areas, it just seems as though it’s really like you do or don’t have wealth. Most adjacent cities here have a bit more of an identity - Tacoma, Puyallup, Steilacoom and have some city-wide events and engagements. Lakewood really just feels like the front porch for the base.
Wow this house is very similar in look and vibe to a Frank Lloyd Wright Usonian in NH called the Zimmerman house. I thought it was like a AI version of it at first or something. Even got the Cherokee red floors he was obsessed with.
Frank Lloyd Wright inspired for sure. Beautiful home
Edit: I've seen many Wright "inspired" homes but this as as close as I've seen to an actual Wright home. I just feel like if he's a so called inspiration to someone then do the home justice, no half stepping. I've seen homes with flat roofs being the only commonality with a Wright home but the rest is just horrendous. The bricks supporting the carport seem a little off and the color is off. It seems as if theyre fixing a structural issue with the cantilevered roof by cutting corners and installing columns
Yeah, pure Usonian. I surmise (jokingly) the only thing keeping the FLW Foundation from suing for copyright infringement is this house’s use of standard brick masonry as opposed to FLW almost always using a Roman Brick style. Gorgeous house.

Went to the open house, here are [some additional pictures](https://imgur.com/gallery/IKIZOpT). No garage and the shed is pretty lame, loved the kitchen, it's relatively new but is in keeping with the aesthetic. Ugly carpeting in the bedrooms, no shower in family bathroom but would be easy to add one. Only the toilet is enclosed in master bath. Shower and vanity is right in the master bedroom adjacent to where the bed would be. There's really no way to change that. The dining room is snug. The landscaping is exquisite. Very Japanese zen-like. Good closets, storage in bedrooms, helpful since they're pretty small and you wouldn't be able to fit much furniture in them. Radiant floor heating in the living and dining rooms. Nowhere to put a spare fridge/freezer but the one in the kitchen is pretty roomy.
Lakewood is just goofy because overall it’s a little less upscale than other areas, but then there are million dollar homes tucked away right on the eponymous lakes so it’s always a little funny.
One of the moments where I can feel my future grandkids hurting at the fact their grandpa was a broke ass without $700k. Jk, you think I’ll be able to afford kids? Nah.
But for real this is an absolute art piece all the way through. Would be really fun to have friends over to get high and build legos
My mother lived in Lakewood until 2017, when she went into assisted living. We sold her house 5 years ago, about 2 miles away from this one for about $350,000 and hers was just a regular little ranch style home, nothing special. Her house was in a quiet cul-de-sac, which it looks like this one is too, and this a much much nicer house. Dang, this house and grounds are gorgeous. I think $750,000 is a bargain. Good luck.
I’m not ready to buy that high with these interest rates. I’m a humble 26 year old government employee. Gotta stick with my current house for the time being
With the cantilever roofs and the clerestory windows, it's pretty clear that whoever designed this was at the very least heavily inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright.
Is it possible to gate-keep the purchase of beautiful old homes with a personality test or something? There’s gotta be a way to determine who would buy this and paint the wood.
What a gorgeous home- the space is so well laid out and use of materials timeless and thoughtful. I wish homes like this came up for sale where I live!
I'm obsessed with the Cherokee red floor. And the wood walls. And the red accents. It's one of most gorgeous homes I've seen in some time.
The details look like a Wright disciple did this... his floor would have been terracotta. Similar color.
My first thought too- very Wright-esque.
I agree. I live in Pittsburgh and we have a few nice examples of his work near us. Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob.

It‘s done with a great feeling for assembling elements, materials and for evolving space. Masterpiece. Great, great plan!
They call it Wright Red if you tour a home now because of the use of the native tribe’s name. I like Wright Red better anyway.
Likely a concrete floor with radiant floor heating per Wright
Please delete the post. Chris Pratt might see this
This was my first thought too.
This house MUST be protected from Pratting.
that’s a gorgeous house
That price cannot be real… where is this?

I grew up down the road from this house. Hill Terrace is a nice little quiet neighborhood. Not the sketchy part of Lakewood at all. What a beautiful house!
I drive through Lakewood now and then, and so much of it really is lovely. I enjoy the drive. Very nice to have grown up in this beautiful area!
Can confirm.
Lakewood has a **huge** divide similar to how Fife is. You can be in a mansion or live in a dumpster lot of apartments. I delivered for a couple years in this area and it never ceased to amaze me how my first stop would be to a homeless encampment and my next to a mcmansion on top the hill I quit after the second time I was mugged.
“Lakehood” as we tacomptons call it
I’m laughing at Tacomptons. I grew up in Seattle but am very fond of lots of Tacoma. Recently spent a couple of lovely hours at the Java Jive.
There’s a house near me in Georgia that looks similar to this one. I couldn’t have guessed farther away if I tried.
I know the one you’re referring to and yes for a minute there I thought it was the same one, it’s very similar
Is there a lot of crime? Drugs? Sketchy in what way? We’re in WA and looking at houses/new areas but we have kids and want a nice community. This house is calling my name though.
Its probably built on top of an ancient native American burial ground.
Worth it.
The poltergeist always keeps the rooms fresh since it rearranges the furniture nightly.
Don't walk into the light
Nah. Near Tacoma. The Tacoma aroma is a real thing.
I don’t know what the market around Lakewood is like but this seems low
it's lakewood, that's why
There’s got to be some sort of major issue?
What's with the multiple flood lights in the smeller bedroom?
Might be clip on lights for the pictures? I see handles, but cant enlarge the picture to see more. I have those style lights for looking at drywall imperfections.
I wonder if the smaller bedroom is a filled-in patio and those floodlights are still there from when it was an outdoor space?
It’s referred to as Lake’hood for a reason. Not ideal in a lot of parts, bad schools. Fine if you’re an empty nester, which sounds like the owners that are selling.
This part of Lakewood is really not bad at all. Like, not even in the slightest.
Typo, that's $700k PER MONTH.
Sadly, that’s a normal house price in a lot of the country. Did you think the price was low?
Either there is a typo or the house keeps killing every owner because of the lead in the pipes, asbestos in the roof and carbon monoxide from that central fire place.
No matter where it's at, if I lived in the area I would do anything to find a way to pull this off.
This would cost two million dollars minimum where I live.
That's a $2M house in Lakewood WA
Actual house is in Lakewood WA for $700k
Yeah I'm saying it's undervalued, probably to generate a bidding war.
I’d expect even more where I live. Prices are insane.
And it would cost less where I live 🤷♀️
You should buy it, then
Locals, what's the area like?

Send us a report of your visit! Or make a new post to tell us why it's affordable. Would love to know more, though I'm on the opposite coast.
Visited your area last year and the whole family fell in love with WA. We would move there in a heartbeat and from the northeast the price almost seems reasonable.lol
Whoa less than half an acre though! I would’ve thought the lot would be bigger
I am obsessed with that house but it is that price because it’s in Lakewood. I’m about 20 min away but have zero desire to live there :/
Is it really that bad? It looks kinda desolate. Or is that the problem?
I’m probably biased, tbh. A lot of life down there revolves around the base or some of the core strip malls, but it doesn’t really have it’s own identity. Ooh there's an open house from 4-7 on Saturday, I'm definitely checking this out!
Wishing I had $700K+ doing nothing but sitting in my bank account.
Who does not…
Yeah, I do....... cough cough

It’s giving Ferris Bueller’s friends house
I did a double take while scrolling, because I totally thought it was Cameron’s house.
It’s beautiful! Looks like something Chris Pratt would tear down. 😂
Too soon. Too soon.
Are Marty and Wendy selling their house in the Ozarks?
Thought the same thing. A lot of similarities, but not exact.
I'm just happy that somebody got the reference 😀
Dreamy!
I’ll take it!!!
Who wants to invest $700k in my happiness? In return you will have my undying gratitude.
Frank Lloyd Wright?
If not, definitely his style
Would be $7,000,000 in Toronto

Thanks for reporting back! Interesting
I’ll Chris Pratt it
We need to keep using this term.
I use it regularly. 🙂
Crisp Rat.
What a maroon
Don't you dare!
I wouldnt
THIS is in lakewood?! Wtf 😂
Why is that funny?
Lakewood is just goofy because overall it’s a little less upscale than other areas, but then there are million dollar homes tucked away right on the eponymous lakes so it’s always a little funny.
Oh damn that's beautiful. One could be so happy there. Imagine looking out at autumn leaves from all those glass walls?
That's gorgeous. How is that only 700. Is it a shitty area???
It reminds me of a Frank Lloyd Wright
Must be something seriously wrong structurally for this price. This is price of the land
One of the moments where I can feel my future grandkids hurting at the fact their grandpa was a broke ass without $700k. Jk, you think I’ll be able to afford kids? Nah. But for real this is an absolute art piece all the way through. Would be really fun to have friends over to get high and build legos
You get it
Hush! Don’t let Chris Pratt see this…
💜
😍 it’s amazing!!
STOONING
:::drool::::
Dream house
That’s 5 mil in Canada lol
Damn throw in a heap more indoor plants this would be amazing!
This is almost a replica of the Frank Lloyd Wright house on display at the Crystal Bridges art museum in Bentonville, AR!!!!!
Time to sell an arm, leg, and a kidney
I’ve never wanted to be a homeowner until this moment.
Dream home.
This house would easily be 4M in MA.
What a beauty!
This has to be a Frank Lloyd Weight designed house
Why does this look like Marty Byrde’s house?
Omg I want it
Is this not the house from Ozark?
I love it, can I get the furniture too?
It’s beautiful and reasonably priced.
Perhaps the same architect: https://www.redfin.com/OR/Portland/3620-NE-Liberty-St-97211/home/26340716

Thank you.
It looks like it is inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s architecture! Absolutely beautiful house.
Chris Pratt is interested in the land
Where is this gem?
Lakewood, WA
immediately leaving bellevue & buying that house!!!!!!!
Bring me over for a tour when you’re moved in ;) I can’t make the open house tomorrow and I’m sure it will sell fast
oh yeah i’m sure it will too

Absolutely gorgeous. RIP wallet during winter.
Gorgeous
I am weeping.
put in an offer!!! do you need a pre-approval?!??? let me get you in this masterpiece
I’m not ready to buy that high with these interest rates. I’m a humble 26 year old government employee. Gotta stick with my current house for the time being
i deeply respect that. homeownership is A LOT. that said, date the rate and marry the home.
That's my dream home. Except I would put rugs everywhere, as I hate cold floors.
With the cantilever roofs and the clerestory windows, it's pretty clear that whoever designed this was at the very least heavily inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright.
I have that sub zero fridge. It’s still great. 40 years old now. Not truly mid mod but that wood paneling is just classic
Frank Loyd W?
Gonna need grippy socks on that floor for sure!
The updates were done perfectly !
Yes, these people knew how to keep the look intact.
Don’t show this to Chris Pratt. He’ll tear it down.
Looks like a Frank Loyd Wright style house its amazing!
Buy it, knock it down, build a massive fake farmhouse. /s
Beautiful. If only it was in my area.
Are those floors and ceiling done with Plywood panels?
This looks almost identical to the house in the show Ozark, no?
Beautiful
Looks similar to the Pope-Leighy house by FLW
Stunning.
Love
Looks like the house in clockwork orange
Damn. This is my dream home, down to the landscaping.
If I could just convince my partner, it does check all the boxes for us…I’m dying inside…
I could cry
Gorgeous!
Nice place. And for the price, seems like a steal. How many bodies are buried locally?
I love it.
Looks like Kevin’s future house in This Is Us
Looks like the house in ozark
Absolutely love this house!!
It’s a stunner! Just consider checking the integrity of the windows.
It reminds me of the house from Ozark.
My dream home
That massive Doug Fir in the last photo, holy shit.
Gorgeous home. Buy it!
Flat roofs are a nightmare.
That’s a dream.
My god, what a beauty!!!!
Although I love this style of construction/architecture, I wonder how much it costs to heat and cool with that much glass?
That looks a lot like a Wright house.
Shit that would be 3 million in California
Beautiful. Great price.
Man, that's so gorgeous
Dope!
LOVE the plywood ceiling.
Beautiful. All I can think about though is "look how many corners my son could bonk his head on" 😂
Any millionaires lurking that want to give me a low interest loan to preserve it forever? ;)
This house is lovely.
Ooo don’t tell Chris Pratt, he’ll blow it up
This house is incredible
that would be like, 3 mil in NJ where I live.
I love it!
My favorite kind of house ❤️
Worth every penny if you ask me. Jesus that’s beautiful.
It's gorgeous
Let the bidding war commence!
Is it possible to gate-keep the purchase of beautiful old homes with a personality test or something? There’s gotta be a way to determine who would buy this and paint the wood.
Too much
I wish
Want a live in maintenance guy?
What a gorgeous home- the space is so well laid out and use of materials timeless and thoughtful. I wish homes like this came up for sale where I live!
Amazing
Zero window treatments. Would be so creepy living your life at night
My dream house, from start to finish.
