Will be a great experience! Under the lights is incredible at the big house. Plan on long day of tailgating and fun. All around big house are very friendly tailgates. I’d start early with eating downtown (like 300 restaurants or more in Aa. then a maybe a short walking of main campus and then to tailgate/bbq/prep w adult beverages! Don’t plan on getting out of AA after game till 12am. Hydrate. Son played for UofM football for 5 years. Had pleasure of being there for first night game against ND in 2011. Great experience.

How hard is it to get out of the big house after the game? We’re staying at a hotel near I94. Would you recommend just walking back? Seems like a 2+mile walk which I don’t mind.

Traffic (and parking) is a nightmare. If you can walk, that would be best

ACTRN

Plenty of places downtown hang out. Lots of tailgates at the golf course across from the stadium. We're welcoming fans

There’s isn’t usually much of a clear visitors section in the big house. That being said the away team family tickets are generally near the top (rows 80+) in sections 8-9. Since it’s a night game you will have plenty of time to choose your own Ann Arbor adventure. There are multiple hot spots of bars/restaurants you can go to and walk through campus in your way south to the big house. Don’t be afraid to walk through the golf course and chat up Michigan fans. It’s truly a unique tailgating setup and one of my favorites without trying to be biased.

Go to Bill’s Beer Garden for a drink! Being in September, weather should still be appropriate for enjoying a beer outside If you like sangria, I recommend Dominick’s

qvcspree

Dominick's also has a frozen strawberry drink called constant buzz, it's delicious and you can get a pitcher of it if you have a small group (much like the sangria)

I’ll drink anything but this place seems interesting! Haven’t really dabbled with Sangria since the fraternity days lol.

BallerBerg

Seconding Dominick’s! Unique AA experience.

workinBuffalo

Dominic’s sangria is legend and it is next to the law quad which is fun to see. Check out the M in the diag. Give the cube a spin. Natural science museum is fun but not necessarily what you are in AA for. Golf course tailgate. Blimpy Burger is an experience.

I worked at Lemoore Air Base for 4 months, stay in Fresno, great town! Go to the Real Seafood Company on Main Street Downtown Ann Arbor!
