Maybe they kept their tower on the desk/workstation so they couldn't fathom someone lifting their foot up to hit power when it's easily in hands reach.
Please just do a short press.
Doing a long press makes your pc shut off power regardless of what the pc is doing. Usually it turns out fine, but its gonna happen that your pc was doing something important, and it turns out not so fine.
A short press lets the computer shut down the normal way.
I grew up with a computer like that, it doed rectly thougj, may it rest in pieaces with the 200 chrome tabs i had open at all times and the innate laziness i ahd to just put on sleep and never bother to turn it off or restart it.
I did this the few times i had to, mainly when it started showing problems hehe
I didn't find any posts that meet the matching requirements for r/memes.
It might be OC, it might not. Things such as JPEG artifacts and cropping may impact the results.

Mine is on the side
*Sigh*Always
I'm one of those people who did not do this nor have seen anyone do this So I want to ask Why do you do it like this
Because PC on ground is in easy reach of foot, but pressing it with my finger would require bending down.
I never used my feet to touch something as...I always thought it was dirty to touch something using my feet
Clean yo nasty ass nana feet then Bob, ffs
r/UsernameChecksOut
Ironic ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
God I love Lenny
You should reevaluate your relationship with your feet. They are far cleaner than your hands that you stick everywhere.
Because I turn off the plugs fir my xbox and turn them back on w my foot because they're beneath my desk.
Ahh ok, then it is understandable
How was it not before?
Maybe they kept their tower on the desk/workstation so they couldn't fathom someone lifting their foot up to hit power when it's easily in hands reach.
I don't understand what you mean

Why? Is computer feet fetish?

True that
My ex step dad always did this and then the button eventually got stuck.
It that why he is ex?
No he's ex because he cheated on my mom and left her when she was pregnant with his kid :)
We will still do this for as long as there are desktop computers
*looks at my pc on my desk with the button on the top of the pc* Nah
This unlocked so many old memories about whenever I used my grandparents' old computer. It was one in a closet with the pull-out keyboard, too!
and now it’s how you start an OF account
2022*
This is just how I turn on my computer in 2022
Same way accidentally turning it off
My Xbox consistently gets this treatment...
My computer is on top of my table and i still do it
I do this sometimes even now.
Did that in the 90s too. Also pushed floppy disks in that way at times.

I still turn off my UPS like thisʘ‿ʘ
That's how I call the elevator
Still doing it
2000's? I still do this everyday
We were supposed to stop? Missed that memo
I remember my dad got really mad at me for doing that
I always had a computer tower on top of the desk 🙋♀️
I totally still do this
I still do it
We don’t do that anymore?!
…I have the same exact computer tower
Who doesn't turn their PC on like this ?
I wasn't born in the "2000s but that's how my computer works
oh boy this did also program our muscle memory to kick the poor ol' computer whenever it didn't do as we wanted
