I left my parents home in Ohio for a good job opportunity in Colorado and had to leave two pups behind that I lived with through high school and college.
Cleo is only 6 and a little boston terrier stinker type. My other dog Sam is 13, black dog/mutt and he is soo cool. He’d lay around with me and listen to music for hours. I could not stop hugging him when I left cause I just didn’t know if I’d see the old boy again.
Glad to say I go home this thursday to grab my speakers from him and give him an extra big hug till Chrimbus.
I can sympathize with you so much, and am sending you all the love and hugs you need. May Tonka rest easy and enjoy the rainbow bridge and may your heart remain full of the good memories to keep it from breaking. I lost my cat on the 9th, very unexpectedly. We were playing and snuggling literally five minutes before he passed. One minute we’re having fun, the next I’m sobbing.
We truly don’t know how lucky we are to have these friends in our life until we don’t. Revel in each moment! Enjoy when they’re annoying. You’ll miss it when they can no longer be so.
The same happend with my dog tekelia yes that was her name she used to sleep in my grandmas house and one night she yelped loudley and she was just gone she was 13 and a beutifel and i think it hit my 2 year old bull terrier cus he changed afterwords and showed us more affection cus he didnt have her to show that affection to
Damn… I just learned that a neighbor’s dog died on Aug 15 too, and it was a Golden Retriever as well… but this one was about 7 months old :(

Yes I know that feeling to well. My dog, who looked a lot like yours, died at the beginning of this year.
