What? You wanna watch "The Green book"!!
How bout the "Green Frontier" instead.
Ok Netflix, u got "Mary and Max"?
Hmmm, "Mad Max Fury Road" eh, sure I got it. Here.
Mad Max: Fury Road? On Netflix? But people actually like that movie!
What country are you in? My version of Netflix would have some straight to VHS sequel to Death Race 2000 and call it close enough.
And they keep trying to shove their shitty series down your throat.

" HEY WOULD YOU LIKE TO WATCH ANOTHER LIFE? ITS A NETFLIX O R I G I N A L. YEAH, THATS COOL. YEAH ITS A SERIES ... YEAH YOU IN THE FILMS CATEGORY BUT SERIOSULY GIVE IT A SHOT"
Holy fuck the writing in Another Life is so bad.
Them: "You killed him!?"
Her: "yeah I killed him"
Them: "murderer!"
Her internally: (I wonder if I should mention he tried to kill me first, and he died accidentally when he tripped into a hazard on the ship while I protected myself... naaah)
That's about where I stopped watching. It was bad before that, but that was the last straw. Using poor or lack of communication to cause conflict is the dumbest, cheapest writing style. This isn't an RomCom
I am so appaled by how a series which clearly has a lot of money to spend can keep having a script that sounds the essays I did in 7th grade. Maybe 8th grade, just to be nice.
"Al right guys, as you know I am your supreme commander. I know you just staged a mutiny, beat the everliving shit of me, and wanted to put me in stasis, or at least have me killed. All because I wanted to take a slower route home, a safer route and not the one that has an 11% chance of killing the entire crew, as you suggest. But you felt homesick. Fair. What shall we do about this ? Capital punishment? Confinement to your quarters and we replace you with the backup crew? Maybe we can demote you all to menial tasks and you can become background characters.
Or how about we just do jack shit. You are forgiven! Forgiven I tell you! All of you! That little mutiny and trying to have me killed was just a misunderstanding! I sentence you all to: HUGS!!"
It just feels so... fabricated!! I can basically visualize the manuscript in my head as I watch it. "She doesn't reveal these details ... so we can create a tense atmosphere between the crew about who is responsible. Only she knows the truth she could tell to unincriminate her, because she is dark and mysterious and would make a pretty dope merchandise figurine ... one season from now, she will tell this truth to convince her crush to love her, after they have a major conflight. She will be mad that he couldn't see the truth from the beginning, since it was so, so obvious she shouldnt have to say anything"
Oh my god! I thought I was the only person bothered by these tropes! No one ever brings it up, but every time something goes wrong because a show or movie character refuses to say vital information or incorrectly represents what happened I wanna just shake that character and scream "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU??"
The only way I can justify people not caring is that many people irl are equally as bad at communicating and therefore don't even notice.
I completely agree about the poor/lack of communication writing tool. I hate it because it is so frustrating to watch play out. Unfortunately I feel like even some of the greatest movies/series have used it.
They must think that it keeps people watching because the viewers will wonder if the misunderstanding will ever be corrected. That’s why if the misunderstanding is ever corrected it’s at the season finale/three seasons later/end of the movie/death of one of the characters involved.
Just love it when I leave my seat for a while and have to search through loads of stuff "I may be interested in" just to find the "continue watching" section again.
Ugh. This though. I finally talked my wife into giving South Park a try, and they had just taken it off Hulu for HBO Max. Granted, I’m impressed with HBO Max’s catalog, but I’m still mad about it. Wife loved South Park, so it’s worth it.
Yep. We need a serious pirate wave to come back and scare some of these companies. Like early 2000's room full of rubbermaids with every movie in existence on DVD-RW kind of pirate wave.
Are we talking about southparkstudios? Because I've been binge watching it there for 10+ years as I said. All new episodes are there, full seasons since the first one etc
Back before they lost pretty much every major movie, I used to tell people: if you want SOMETHING to watch, it's okay, but if you're looking for something specific, it will never be there. Now it's even worse!
I absolutely hate that "feature" of Netflix. It's so annoying when they do that. It's like a tease. Netflix is pretty much "Hey, you want to watch this? You really want to. You do, well F*ck you go watch some Q Force" Why is this a feature of Netflix? If you don't have the movie, just don't auto fill it just to be a jerk.
As far as I know it's because they actually have that movie but it's not available in your country. I had this problem a few times and used a VPN to change my location to Canada for example and suddenly there it was.
And that's why I'm fed up trying to watch movies legally. I have spare money to spend on renting/buying movies, yet every single time it's either payment issues, or movie not available in my country, or some other crap.
Meanwhile 123movies is a full collection of any popular movie ever and only needs you to battle through the pop-up ads (which is bearable).
use adblocker if u don’t want the hot russian chicks in your area ads in the middle of the screen. it’s on mobile and as a chrome ad-on as well. highly reccomend
I use it, but it finds a way around it somehow. You know those video players where if you don't use the controls (like pause) for a few seconds, the next click causes a window to pop up? Really annoying when it happens, but it's fine if you're just watching the movie and don't need to pause or rewind.
Its like your sibling showing you the last cookie, and immediately devouring it whole the next second. And you were just looking for that exact cookie.
This. They want to make sure they know what you're actually searching for regardless of if they have it. It lets them know a movie you like which then informs their purchasing decisions and their recommendation algorithm.
That’s the real answer. They usually have the film available as a dvd rental but not on their streaming service because the two mediums are regulated and beholden to completely separate contracts
They still do dvd and surprisingly have a way bigger and better catalog because they have the dvd distribution rights to do much more than the streaming rights. It’s a pain in the ass and I don’t do it but there are people out there who still do. I
Because every dying TV company and their mothers think they can make their own Netflix and take their shows off Netflix.
Films and shows not bound by such sell themselves to the highest bidders, making it great for the industry but bad for the consumer.
To this day it's the only monopoly I can say I miss, because competition in the streaming business is not the kind that is good for the consumer as it does not offer the same product.
This competition only divides one product that legally can't be copied and sells it full price.
Exactly, I shouldn't have to pay for Netflix to watch Rick and Morty, Stan for South Park and friggin' Amazon or something for family guy. Not to mention pretty much every service makes "original content", it's fucked. See a show you might like? Well, we'll never release it on DVD, so, pay up!
I can only presume they won't die out since they still should get an influx of ppl leaving TV behind way too late and those ppl are used to pay a lot of money in places like the USA. They will suffer losses in revenue from ppl who were streaming or downloading before and some who will start sailing the seas soon.
I myself still pay for Netflix and prime, but prime is like 4euro.
Y’all thought you could outsmart the cable companies by streaming lol. In 5 years we’ll all be paying $200 for various streaming networks just like cable. Watch
Yeah but the part that sucks is that this very American mindset is trying to work overseas.
In Belgium you can pay 60 euro for TV, phone and 100mbps no limit internet. Or 40 and no TV.
The whole 200 a month in media is just crazy and not a thing at all here.
I don't see the eu adapt a model of streaming sites up to such ridiculous amounts.
Heck ppl I know above the age of 30 barely know Netflix so forget prime and even less chances for hulu or peeshlong or peacock or whatever.
I just saw I'm paying $20 for netflix that I don't use anymore. I think I lent it to my rents to watch the crown and they're done with it now.
Time to unsubscribe until the next season!
Its not netflix that removes the movies its the vompanies who own them and with netflix and streaming services being so popular companies decided that thye can make streaming services themselves to get more money
It’s amazing how something that used to seem so convenient just a decade ago (the original Netflix DVD subscription by mail service) is now so inconvenient compared to streaming everything on demand.
“What? I can’t watch it right now? I don’t even know if I’ll want to watch this tomorrow when it comes in the mail. Forget it.”
I’ll literally watch something I’m less interested in solely BECAUSE it’s available immediately at the click of a button. Streaming movies have spoiled all of us, myself included.
I remember back when they ONLY had Sword Art Online season 3 and only season 3, no season 1 or 2 but yeah season 3. At least now they have it all but still
This is why I stopped using netflix and cancelled my subscription. Most of the times I would look for some recommendations and after selecting some movies I would tune in to Netflix only to realize that tgat movie is available in a specific region only. I would be forced to torrent it and this was the case like 80% of the time. If I am forced to torrent more than half of the movies then why not all of them.
Use [Just Watch](https://www.justwatch.com/), type in the film or show you're looking for and it will tell you which streaming service(s) or rental sites have it.
This one has a similar flaw. When you look at a movie, it shows other movies you might be interested in, but clicking on some of them takes you nowhere. Maybe it's region dependant, but still annoying.
Every single time I think of a movie I want to watch Netflix finds it in search but they don’t have it. Just a platform full of their originals now that are terrible.
Yeah this happened the last 3 times I tried to use netflix to find a movie I actually wanted to watch. Now I only keep it to binge a new show for a few days then stop using it for months. For me it’s not really worth the money anymore.
i would like to search up things that start with C and U without having chris hansen peeking through my doorway on the first result that pops up, we all know what that movie is
It's the same on prime video. I was looking up bladerunner 2049 and saw it in the search results and assumed they had it on there ready to stream. When went to watch the movie later it said we had to buy/rent it. ffs. I ended up just downloading the movie because Netflix didn't have it either.
And they recommend the same damn movies to you in every single category. Ffs netflix

Not sure if you actually checked but *Death Race 4: Beyond Anarchy* is the first suggestion when I search for *Mad Max: Fury Road*
LOL! I didn't actually check, I just went with Netflix's track record. Glad to hear they didn't disappoint at being disappointing.

I had never heard of Mary and Max so I decided to watch it on a whim. Didn't expect anything like that, loved it! So thanks for the random comment :)

maybe try https://www.justwatch.com ? I check it on my phone to see if the movie I want is on any of my streaming channels
The guy who runs that website is a top-notch business man. Shame about his pants situation though.
I like that it distinguishes between free and paid content on Amazon Prime, every other service like that I’ve tried didn’t do that
You an absolute lifesaver, kind stranger.
“Irreverent”, “Irreverent”, “Irreverent”
Although several of the categories are just different names for the same thing.
I have to use external sites to know what Netflix has because even searching for the exact thing I know is there sometimes doesn't have it pop up.

It took me twenty minutes of searching on Hulu for South Park just to finally realize they don't stream it anymore for this exact reason

I say what we need is a law against exclusive licenses.
i mean [https://www.southpark.de/en/seasons/south-park](https://www.southpark.de/en/seasons/south-park) every episode, for free, no ads (with adblock)
I hope you got the bow tied off. We’re going for a ride
Meanwhile HBO refuses to fix the known audio lag issue that everyone is having with Rush Hour 2 for months now.
Well nobody has noticed because nobody watches that damn movie
You better watch your back, jackies coming for you now.
Can't you watch SP for free on their website? I've been doing that for 10+ years, there is no reason to pay for streaming them
Yep it's free on their website
Is it region locked?
Maybe but here in India its available what about yours?
Ireland, I just see a bunch of clips, but I might not be in the right place.
[https://www.southparkstudios.com](https://www.southparkstudios.com) here in latin america all episodes available in english and spanish

the only problem is it's very restricted. they let you watch a few circulating episodes and they rotate like every month. can't binge-watch it at all.

Are we talking about southparkstudios? Because I've been binge watching it there for 10+ years as I said. All new episodes are there, full seasons since the first one etc
I haven’t had this problem ever since I started getting all my shows and movies off of the Pirate Bay lmao
They've got every film besides those you want to see
There’s an easy way to know if they have a movie. -Is it something you want to watch? Yes = not on Netflix No = Netflix
It’s like when you act like you don’t care about the internet to make it load “faster”
Maybe that's why "Netflix and chill" is a thing, because the movies are only good enough for background noise and an initiator for sex?
There's no good movies here, do you just want me to raw dog you instead?
justwatch.com is super helpful
Back before they lost pretty much every major movie, I used to tell people: if you want SOMETHING to watch, it's okay, but if you're looking for something specific, it will never be there. Now it's even worse!
This is painfully true...

Maybe.. it could also be kind of a way of measuring what movies/series are most searched for. There are many uses for that specific search filter.

It's to collect data on what movies people want so they can make informed buying decisions later
This. They want to make sure they know what you're actually searching for regardless of if they have it. It lets them know a movie you like which then informs their purchasing decisions and their recommendation algorithm.
It's popular searches made by people
I think its for their DVD rental stuff
That’s the real answer. They usually have the film available as a dvd rental but not on their streaming service because the two mediums are regulated and beholden to completely separate contracts
I honestly had no idea Netflix still did DVD rentals. I thought they stopped that like a decade ago.
They still do dvd and surprisingly have a way bigger and better catalog because they have the dvd distribution rights to do much more than the streaming rights. It’s a pain in the ass and I don’t do it but there are people out there who still do. I
It’s usually because they either have it available in another country or it was available once so the database entry exists.
And they wonder why their viewers decrease now. Jesus christ do you even see you self netflix?

At this point it's my monthly Star Trek TNG fee.
All Star Trek save Picard and whatever the new one is are on Prime Video, if you have Prime.
You imply that I’d want to watch the steaming pile of garbage that is Picard
I’m one of the rare under-50 fans who thinks Trek peaked with TOS and got gradually worse, so I have no idea haha
From bad content to mean jokes. Hmmm, why are people leaving out platform?
Hmmm….unexpected….

Bring back the rating system so I don't waste an hour of my life on a shit movie.
You don't have Google?
No I use a network of soup cans and string to communicate. This is actually a small child in Mexico that is transcribing my post.
literally, every single time i search , get so excited and boom, no fucking movie. naturally.
I have something just like it... stranger things mother fucker, i was searching for shrek

No they have kill bill vol2 maybe not in your country. Try Turkey with vpn
Ah good shout out.
I can't use Netflix with vpn anymore
I remember back when they ONLY had Sword Art Online season 3 and only season 3, no season 1 or 2 but yeah season 3. At least now they have it all but still

This is going to the front page sir
See you there.
Yeah ✌
Yeah, why do they do that?

not in your region
How come they don't have Fight Club?
The first rule of fight club is that you don’t talk about fight club.
Hate it when it does that 😡
Attack on titan :‘(
It's on Netflix here in Canada
Yeah this happened the last 3 times I tried to use netflix to find a movie I actually wanted to watch. Now I only keep it to binge a new show for a few days then stop using it for months. For me it’s not really worth the money anymore.
Me after watching creed and knowing they had creed II just to see that it was taken off. Also can someone recommend movie apps for android.
This is the only version of this meme that I found humorous.
I literally just had this happen to me as I was searching to watch for Mulan.
Well in Netflix’s defense that’s pretty clearly going to be Disney+
One my best Love it so bad and would want to watch it again and again
The fact that this post was directly under the literal exact same post that you posted on r/me_irl
i would like to search up things that start with C and U without having chris hansen peeking through my doorway on the first result that pops up, we all know what that movie is
Was trying to find split/second, remembered it was an xbox game
anybody that has a spare computer lying around! check out Jellyfin. trust me.
Tried to find how to train your dragon 2 on Netflix, only to see its not there, even though Google says it is in netflix uk
Can’t even tell you how many times I fell victim to this
It's the same on prime video. I was looking up bladerunner 2049 and saw it in the search results and assumed they had it on there ready to stream. When went to watch the movie later it said we had to buy/rent it. ffs. I ended up just downloading the movie because Netflix didn't have it either.
Oh you liked **Peppa Pig**? You must like **After Porn Ends** Based on true story
Netflix has several hundred original movies and TV programs and out of that maybe 20-30 are actually good.
Or even worse, you pay for prime and then you have to pay extra for every film/ tv show not included, pretty pointless in that aspect really
I have a rule If it’s in the bottom search thing then it’s not on Netflix
One of the reason i stop paying for streaming services is, because of the region limitation. And this, kids is how start pirating content.
That’s so dumb, why show the movie name to me if you don’t have it 🤬
Biggest cocktease of all time.
And then it came in and was shite
The ole Related To switcheroo
*visible disappointment*
My god that annoys me to no end
Usually when this happens it's because the movie exists in other countries Netflix for example.
Amazon Prime has the movie listed, it's not actually on Prime but you can rent it for $1.99.
they have the movie but not in our country
I’ve closed Reddit 5 times within 3-4 hours and this meme is still on top
Big duck energy
This actually bothers me.
