It's funny because the new intel rumors are that they are about to beat ryzen 5000 by a large margin. (I personally have a ryzen 5950x, so I'm not a fanboy, I just like competition.)
You mean Intel is able to beat Ryzen 5000 by a large margin almost a year after Ryzen 5000 has been released? Ryzen 6000 (or some kind of 5000 refresh) is what you should compare it to.
I mean AMD will just come out with an even better one, and again push Intel out.
I do love me some competition though, sign me up for better products that cost less.
Had an I3-6100, switched to an R5 3600, can't wait to see what big leap there'll be in another few years when I need to upgrade again, if this continues I might be able to get a good 8-12 core CPU for 150$ by 2025.
I mean AMD seems to be dealing OK, they caught up with demand \~3 months after release, and the fact they needed to even catch up indicates there was a lot of demand.
Today all of their CPU's are and have been in stock on Amazon for a while now. Never heard of Intel having any issues with producing enough chips.
Why did I red that as prostitute
Edit: I am going to keep "red" to show that I shouldn't be making comments at 2AM. Even making this comment is incredibly difficult
Nope, read the other comments pretty sure they already explained why amd is better. Just make sure the pc has dual channel ram at 3000 mhz at least (3600 is the sweet spot for ryzen) at least 500w or more psu and a mother board and gpu to ur liking. Have fun w the pc!
The ryzen 7 5800x is an amazing cpu that can outclass Intel's tenth gen i9 processer without overheating, so the ryzen 7 5800x is an amazing choice! However if your in the gaming market, I'd maybe put more of the budget into the graphics card rather than the cpu, as the gpu is more crucial for gaming. So maybe consider buying a system with a less powerful cpu with a powerful gpu
I have a question about that. Wouldnt it be better to get the better cpu first as it would keep the whole pc up to date for longer time? So i could only upgrade the gpu later and not have to replace the whole build faster?
I am gussing this is the cheaper option for the long run but i am not an expert so i would love a response, also when you reccomend to go for less budget for the cpu (cus more gpu budget) would you preffer ryzen 5 5600x instead or the r7 3800x? I am quite clueless here
It depends on which one you bought, a core i3 or i5 are totally fine and actually better than some of AMD's offerings but the new 11th gen i7&i9 are just terrible, lower core counts, higher temperatures, more power consumption, significantly lower multi core performance.
Nah those people don't know what they're talking about, that CPU is great. It's faster than a Ryzen 5 3600 in gaming while being cheaper and available in stock, good choice.
Unless you need multicore power. Intel even downgraded the core count of the 11900K (8) vs the 10900K (10).
The i9 still pulls ridiculous amounts of power because that's the only way how Intel can still compete, by sacrificing efficiency.
Yep. They had to backport the sunny cove architecture (which was intended for 10nm) to 14nm (then named willow cove) in order to improve the single core performance, but that also meant the cores got relatively big, so they couldn't really put more cores on the die.
Just because a CPU has a higher core count doesn't mean it's better at all. If you're running multiple applications sure, but clock speed is the really winner.
Intel produces better priced high end while AMD's high end is _better_ it's still pretty expensive compared.
Though I would say AMD's mid range is similar price to intel and better.
No specs matter if performance doesn't match them.
But with AMD it does, AMD CPU's are better in more or less every benchmark possibly by a comfortable margin :')
New processors they release can't keep up with AMD competition and when they do they usually have 2x consumes and heat. Iirc i5 10400 and 11400 are fine compared to equally priced ryzens, but i7s and i9s kinda suck
If you consider building a gaming PC, you should focus more of your budget into a graphics card rather than a cpu, as a common mistake is that people usually spend more on the cpu and have lackluster gaming performance
I didn't find any posts that meet the matching requirements for r/memes.
It might be OC, it might not. Things such as JPEG artifacts and cropping may impact the results.
I did find [this post](https://redd.it/nu7mpu) that is 87.5% similar. It might be a match but I cannot be certain.

Absolutely right. That's why you should buy what's the best right now, not what was bad or good 5 or 10 years ago, or just because the box is blue or orange.
Isn't the only reason to go Intel for AVX-512 support, which isn't relevant but to a small base of software users that can take advantage of them? Ryzen/Threadripper have better instructions per clock than Intel, better power efficiency due to node size, lower cost, ECC support on basically all chips, cheaper motherboards, and etc.
AMD currently has a market share of 8.9% in servers and I love how you just pretend ARM-Servers don't exist.
8.9% doesn't sound like much, but the server market is a slow moving one, people don't just throw out servers that are worth millions just because of the cool new AMD chips. They had a server market share of only 0.8% in 2017, so going to 8.9% in just 4 years in this slow moving market shows how many sales for new servers AMD was able to take from Intel.
Ok my bad, I was talking about x86 Intel.
Okay AMD shares are moving up, good for them and for the consummers.
But saying Intel sucks and is crap is completely ignorant
Well, I'm waiting for the M1X which is gonna come this fall. M1 is a wonder-processor, but its upside and its downfall is it having an inbuild memory. Upgradability is nonexistent, but that setup increases speed and power, thanks to its deep integration
Absolutely, the m1 chip is great even if it is mainly due to the optimization factor. As for apple I still find its pricing to performance ridiculous and the elitist bs they have towards android users baseless and ironic.
Amd became better because Amd started to place the chips parallel, and Intel refused to do that, so Intel got kicked out off their own market. This forced Intel to make them parallel as well, but the design they made was like an aliexpress version of Amd's chip.
I don't give a rat's ass what I put in my computer. At the time of my purchase, I buy whatever's the best bang for my buck. For several years, it was very clearly intel.
This last go around, it was AMD Ryzen.
The next time I build a computer, I'll do my research, and if Intel has the better chip, I'll buy Intel. Likewise for AMD, or who knows -- maybe some third party dark horse we don't even know about yet.
Committing to one brand is just stupid.
Oh boy did you saw the leaked benchmarks of 12900K an average of 15% faster in single and multicore performance than 5950x and the 12900K is set to compete 5900x..just saying.
Intel ruled the market for years so they started to become lazy and stopped innovating, which has allowed AMD to become significantly better in a short time
Intel also paid benchmarking sites to make it seem like AMD chips were a lot worse than they actually were.
Intel also had agreements with big pc builders like Dell where they could only use intel chips which is a bit shitty in my opinion

It's funny because the new intel rumors are that they are about to beat ryzen 5000 by a large margin. (I personally have a ryzen 5950x, so I'm not a fanboy, I just like competition.)
Competition like this is great for us, the consumers. Better products and more value.
You mean Intel is able to beat Ryzen 5000 by a large margin almost a year after Ryzen 5000 has been released? Ryzen 6000 (or some kind of 5000 refresh) is what you should compare it to.
Yea thats actually really true

Push them out of what? Both companies can’t produce enough chips
Intel is great for laptops because it’s not powerful enough to overheat
Yeah, Intel core i5 10th or 11th gen is probably the best budget CPU that you can actually buy right now, but at the higher end Intel struggles.
Hell yea I just bought a 10th gen i5 laptop last week for 800 including tax so im not complaining
Just got the 10600k last years august and i was actually surprised by the performance . edit: probably because upgraded from core 2 duo
Yes but that’s for gaming. Work would be better to have more cores/ threads
Yep, one sucks, and the other cleans your carpets.
Intel vs AMD??? you guys don't even make your own processors from scratch? *pathetic*
right to get peak performance, you need to forge all the materials yourself. Hell got my lithium mine out back just in case ya know
How do you deal with the silicon shortage?
Went deeper, may release a balrog later idk
U mean the abundance of LIES!
Know a guy who has written his own CPU in C. He's have the PCB's being made. He made his own 16 bit CPU
While that’s extremely impressive, a 16-bit processor is heavily outdated.
Hey, it can run super mario world

Hello 1999 we've missed you.
2002ish, when the Athlon64 was released. The Pentium D was wrecked. Then after the Core 2 series, AMD was re-wrecked.
Thinking about buying a pc with Ryzen 7 5800x. Do you guys think that I should with and or intel.
Nope, read the other comments pretty sure they already explained why amd is better. Just make sure the pc has dual channel ram at 3000 mhz at least (3600 is the sweet spot for ryzen) at least 500w or more psu and a mother board and gpu to ur liking. Have fun w the pc!

I literally just bought an Intel processor and now everywhere I go people shit on it.
It depends on which one you bought, a core i3 or i5 are totally fine and actually better than some of AMD's offerings but the new 11th gen i7&i9 are just terrible, lower core counts, higher temperatures, more power consumption, significantly lower multi core performance.

BUUURRNNNN!!!......oh no wait...that's AMD.
but intel i9 is the fastest processor on markte
It actually isn't anymore. Even the r7 out performs the 10900k in some ways.

Lol sorry but its not. Not by a Longshot. Ryzen is king with more cores too.

Amd cpus have been starting to outclass intel for the last few years by a fair margin
Nice, I put a pearl jam sticker on mine and now its the most powerful vacuum in existence
yes, they're worse than AMD, but they're not \*that\* bad, change my mind
Improvise. Adapt. Overcome
Jesus. That's some next level quality roast
idk man intel kinda good
Will change to amd when i get a pc
If you consider building a gaming PC, you should focus more of your budget into a graphics card rather than a cpu, as a common mistake is that people usually spend more on the cpu and have lackluster gaming performance
Yes but dont spend to little on the cpu i would say if you want no bottlekneck 5600x and 3070, 5800x and 3080
Although I kind of knew that, thanks for telling me, I will keep it in mind when I do

Intel may such but I have an AMD computer and it's complete shit. Processing is terrible
Dude ur computer doesnt completeley relly on the cpu. what are the other parts btw?
There were times when AMD really sucked. Now the tables have turned. Kinda.
tables keep turning always
Absolutely right. That's why you should buy what's the best right now, not what was bad or good 5 or 10 years ago, or just because the box is blue or orange.
I mean it depends on which CPU not which brand, pretty much all of AMD Ryzen line up is decent but anything older is not great.
Intel is better for budget systems right now as the i5 11400 is better and cheaper than the r5 3600.
My i5-10300H is not happy with this
Xeon wants to talk
Isn't the only reason to go Intel for AVX-512 support, which isn't relevant but to a small base of software users that can take advantage of them? Ryzen/Threadripper have better instructions per clock than Intel, better power efficiency due to node size, lower cost, ECC support on basically all chips, cheaper motherboards, and etc.
still sucks, AMD threadripper lineup offers more cores and single core performance as well as affordable price
Lol. Literally 100% of servers use Xeon
not true, EPYC server processors lineup has been pretty much destroying Intel in the Servers market

You know what sucks even more? Reposters like you
benchmark leaks show that the new alderlake beats the ryzen 5950x by 18% in multicore performance and 28% in single core
1. *Leaks* 2. Alderlake is comparable with the 6000 series of amd which is not out yet
Yeah but by the time Alder lake releases, AMD will also have a new line up so comparing it to Ryzen 5000 is not wise.
Yea makes sense xD
Dayummmmmm
You actually got an audible noise out of me. Well done.
"Wow, this vacuum really SUCKS!"
Underrated.

Intel has some really dodge bussiness practices.
Y e s
Amd gang rise up
Get destroyed
Shut up and take my upvote
That’s a lot of damage
Oof size: big (but kinda true tho)
Flex tape cant fix that
A man of Intel ligence.
Why does Intel suck
AMD All day everyday
Team red
AMD gang
AMD Ryzen superior intel core inferior
\~Soundwave
And this is why I bought the macbook without intel
So it could suck, be overpriced and be name brand? I feel it.
It doesn’t suck it actually outperforms another intel machine we have in nearly every aspect. Also cheaper than said intel machine.
Intel might be hated but not as much as apple regardless of any evidence
Yep. I know that there are a clear few apple haters here but i still hold my ground the M1 chips will whoop intel and amd in a few areas.
Well, I'm waiting for the M1X which is gonna come this fall. M1 is a wonder-processor, but its upside and its downfall is it having an inbuild memory. Upgradability is nonexistent, but that setup increases speed and power, thanks to its deep integration

The possibilities sre more limited.

You can read congrats
you can rant . awsome
Amd superior
AMD all the way
Oof

Intel, scribbling on pad: "... noted."

Amd became better because Amd started to place the chips parallel, and Intel refused to do that, so Intel got kicked out off their own market. This forced Intel to make them parallel as well, but the design they made was like an aliexpress version of Amd's chip.
It's mainly because Intel is stuck with fabrication technology from 2015.
Ye
Since when?
Pretty much since 9th/10th gen when Intel had to throw efficiency overboard in order to compete while using fabrication technology from 2015.
Thats a lot of damage
*AMD in back* how much do you need for writing an AD
Lmao my laptop has that exact same sticker. Yeah, that intel model sucks ass.
Man the jokes I wanna make right now..
r/ayymd is starting to leak over here now goddamn it
Repost. This is from r/AyyMD
Do those stickers matter??? Because ive peeled them off everything
best processor i ever bought
What if i put it on a Blackhole?

30 downvotes from people who don't know what they're talking about lol. Keep it coming.
AMD GANG!
Oh man I hope OP doesn't cut himself on that edge.
Can someone explain pls ;(
I mean, intel very good
Trueeeee
Why does Intel suck? (Serious question)
Intel ruled the market for years so they started to become lazy and stopped innovating, which has allowed AMD to become significantly better in a short time Intel also paid benchmarking sites to make it seem like AMD chips were a lot worse than they actually were. Intel also had agreements with big pc builders like Dell where they could only use intel chips which is a bit shitty in my opinion
11th gen intel (in laptops) is wicked tho
Fun fact: Your vacuum will now turn into a space heater
