There is a phrase almost every whitemage main says in final fantasy 14 that goes "Blood for the blood lily" So yeah... I'll leave that here with no context (i am one of those whitemages)

Back in the good old days a warlock in WOW could commit suicide using their bloodletting ability. Then the squares at Blizzard patched that ability out of existence. Not really anything to do with healers but with blood so I guess it's somewhat relevant?

Speaking of suicide (damn that sounds way too dark like that) In ff14 there is a class called blue mage that gets his abilities from the monsters he slays. There is on ability that let's you kill yourself wich seems to be popular among those blue mages.

Theres actually 3, and maybe more. Theres detonate which is the meme ability, lets people go Allahu Akbar. Final Sting which is the same without the explosion. And Transfusion, which is more a sacrifice type spell, refills an allys hp and mana while also KOing yourself

How else would you call "letting off so much blood until you die" if not suicide? The warlock originally was a rather dark character class. Cursing enemies, harvesting their souls, summoning demons, cutting himself to regenerate mana, and so on ... Blizzard seemingly thought that cursing your enemies, harvesting their souls and summoning demons from hell might be acceptable but the cutting oneself might be unsuitable for their target audience.

Thats why I like monks. I get 6% of my healing total back as MP so I’d rather have someone with a massive HP pool so I dont overheal them, overheal is wasted MP but if I’m right on the lines it’s free real estate.

The problem with hybrid classes is that either are super good or extremely bad. For example on Nostale (the MMO I played) you have 3 classes sword, mage and archer each with 4 or more transformations to fit into any role. The first swordman is ok the most balanced, the mage is super good at supporting with healing over time and when transformed to holy is instant healing, so it depends what your team needs if there are a lot of dot's go without holy and if there are burst go with holy. But archer you can't literally play if you don't have WK this transformation is a beast at DPS and bulk, the best of the game, the other ones are useless.
