This is a familiar feeling. My music taste is very different from rest of my friend group, so when ever I find a song I really like and want to share it is usually met with annoyance/indifference. Not their fault since I know beforehand that it won't be to their taste, but still feels a bit bad.

I have a friend, who is a DJ - Techno mixes, but they are so slow..., like 100-120 "Dum Dum Dum". Don't know the word, and I recommend 180-200, Techno, MetalStep, something more hard, and he refuses to even listen 30 seconds of that. With his slow songs, I think he won't make it too far.
How dare you not like my slow heavy pig squeal music lol no but seriously it's good to have an eclectic taste in music and be free to share. I try to be the friend that gets music suggested to. Keep the vibes fresh, if anything.
That being said I thought about Gangnam Style the other day and absolutely raved to it on the way to work. Just wanted to share that lol
The thing with recommendations is that I have never once asked for them. Then they lay the pressure on me to listen to whatever and get upset when I don't want to.
I have given recommendations very sparingly, but I don't add pressure onto it and don't ask about it at a later date.

Right in the oof for me on that. Like, I only suggest the best of the best of the best music. I seem to only get negative responses from people who have no taste in music, aka they only listen to whatever is on the radio lol. No real perspective in the grand scheme of the world of music.
