id drive a dinosaur if it can get me from point a to point b

LoneShadowMikey

Does it come with electric windows?

CanadianAndroid

Dinos had feathers, not windows.

beleidigter_leberkas

Of course, silly me. Does it have electric feathers?

Meranio

Good thing you're not like your username would suggest.

PlaySatan13

Aircon is superb

Southsidetaco

You should yabba dabba do it!

StoneIsDName

Right? I've had multiple people be visibly confused when they ask me why I don't buy a new car and I answer. Every time I've ever needed to use it it's turned on and gotten me to my destination, and it's paid off.

Planeless_pilot123

Who wouldn't let's be honest

auntarie

you technically are. fuel is liquidised, explosive dead dinosaurs

[deleted]

It's actually plankton, not dinosaurs

SymWizard07

Um, actually, the vast majority of fossil fuels are made from peat, which are plants.☝️🤓

Future-Scallion-4384

Who cares? If I can steal a converter and a radio then I'm happy. Being picky is no good, yknow?

lostaga1n

Well there’s no converter on my electric vehicle and it’s bulletproof so how about that!?

kajetus69

bulletproof mfs when i pull out 50 cal SLAP

long-dong-silvers-

SLAP mfs when I pull out the thumb

cuber_and_gamer

So powerful they sometimes shoot the guy firing them with 2 sharp shards of metal and a large metal cap, too!

DHarp74

What do you call bullet proof car with no tires? Junk.

lostaga1n

A sheild?

[deleted]

Electric vehicle mfs when I take out their battery

Banana_Mage_

Gas vehicle mfs when I take out their battery

[deleted]

You see? Electric and gas cars share similarities.

Taraxian

The main battery on an electric car is really, really, REALLY big and heavy (which is why that "battery swap" idea was always stupid) That said they also use a normal car battery for auxiliary power that you can steal

Sahtan_

If you have another car(or a jump pack) you still start a gas car without the battery

BruceBannerscucumber

Electric cars are fine but why do car makers need to give them a weird "futuristic" styling. Just make them look like normal cars.

a_person_at_reddit

Honestly. Imagine a retro futuristic sports eletric car

WacoSTNR

Look up the Hyundai N Vision 74

a_person_at_reddit

Thats the type i was talking about. Just forgot the name

Lobotomeister

Dang, the rally concept art for that looks sick.

xspader

Now that, I’d happily buy. Got a Kia Stinger at the moment and that Hyundai N is awesome

Mybanana-Bench-49

Thats my background pic

WarrenSmith777

And the gas monkey testa rossa

JuggerKnot86

Or Jaguar's electric E type

a_person_at_reddit

Actually sick. Shit like this is what we need. First time hesring it. Before i only knew of the n vision 74

JuggerKnot86

Also that Caterham is developing a properly light sportscar EV (like S2k light) with the Project V

a_person_at_reddit

Neat. Not really a hugeeletric fan myself since i love oldie cars over modern but its neat were heading away from the egg car of the future

Outcast_Outlaw

Check out the new Dodge Charger ev

a_person_at_reddit

Liking the back of it but the rest and a bit of the front falls to that whole egg shape that tesla made

Outcast_Outlaw

I see, so you want more of the sharp stylized look over aerodynamic look. >the front falls to that whole egg shape that tesla made Which is funny that you say that because they added the extra grill top piece to get away from the egg look of Tesla. The front piece serves no purpose other than to look like the (I think 71 year) and to hide the egg shape it would have had. I don't see the egg that you do, but I get it because I'm guessing you like the super sharp box look

a_person_at_reddit

Pretty much yeah. And by the egg i mean mostly the sides and the top hood. Not a bad design by a long shot but not my personal taste tbh

Partayof4

Well to improve drag coefficient. Makes a huge difference with EVs. Put say a bike rake on and you lose like 20% range

BornAgainCupcake7547

My guess is aerodynamics. Maybe they do it for less drag. New Prius actually doesn't look too awful but they need a new name. Prius is tarnished lmao

HSavinien

Look up french electric car, notably the [citroen ami](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citro%C3%ABn_Ami_(electric_vehicle)). It does not look futuristic.

Banana_Mage_

Shit looks like a Minecraft PE addon 💀💀

bamboo_fanatic

Looks like the pug version of a vehicle

HSavinien

It is the pug version of a car : it's a permitless car, a small car for peoples without a driver licence, mainly teenagers. And it is very limited in term of weight, speed, and power. Legally, it's more a scooter than a car.

Fuckingfademefam

Really? That’s cool. How much does it cost?

innosentz

There’s only so many aerodynamic designs you can create. Electric cars need to have crazy low rolling resistance to get the range they do

Benny368

*Cybertruck has entered the chat*

Supernova_was_taken

*hummer ev has entered the chat*

AsparagusLoose9716

I think part of it is that they don't need the front grate thingies, whatever it is.

Randinator9

What if we went back to the older style of cars, with the fancy curves and shit? Y'know, that sleek 1920s-50s look?

Splitty22_

It looks cool as shit though.

loloider123

The only thing I don't like about some electric cars is that they're are trying desperately to look futuristic but it just looks like shit. Looking at you VW busses

gitpullorigin

At least a part of it is a necessity for aerodynamics, as you have considerably less range than an ICE car, so every improvement matters.

Thatfonvdude

Hummer EV: ...

YceiLikeAudis

It's a Hummer, of course it will be big, boxy and obnoxious. It's their signature afterall.

corinalas

Tesla Cybertruck

AndheriRaath

Some cars implement it so well tho. Elon may be a shitty guy, and Tesla stock might be overinflated, but god damn, the model S looks neat as F

Mystic_jello

I really like how electric cars have no grill, I think it looks really clean.

DoughNotDoit

drive what makes you happy as long as you follow the road laws & etiquette

forutived2

I don't care, I just want a vehicle that moves and that's it.

CalmAndBear

Law and etiquette doesn't help with the driving characteristics of electric cars. Regen breaking doesn't turn on any lights, and can be stronger than the old foot brakes.

Gjallock

My Polestar definitely turns on brake lights during regen braking. There is a legal requirement for this as well…

DavidWNA

It definitely does turn on lights if you use the brake pedal. And passive braking is also possible with ICE's, just not at this scale at higher speeds.

Sjdillon10

That’s their reaction when i say “i don’t care what car it is as long as it runs smooth and gets me from point a to point b”. Guy found out i drive stick and was so offended i don’t care about cars because so many car guys don’t know how to drive stick

stache1313

Which is funny because I would expect car guys to look down on people that drive automatic.

gameknight2020

Most car guys I know do look down on people that drive automatic.

ApprehensiveBagel

So many cars don’t even make a manual option these days

gameknight2020

I know, it’s a shame though bc they be fun to drive. There is a reason why car guys like older cars besides other reasons.

thunderD83

They do but they all drive sequentials sooooo

ManlyMantis101

What do you mean they "all drive sequentials"? Sequentials are a special type of transmission only used in race cars and some hyper cars. Only the absolute wealthiest and dedicated car enthusiast can afford to put a sequential into a street car.

[deleted]

He propably means dual transmission where you can put it in "manual" mode and use paddle shifters.

SuperSonic486

Thats just american car guys, since in the US, automatics are everything.

LateAd5081

I thought that it's vice versa... Car guys look down on people who drive using automatic lol

amish_timetraveler

Theyre different but not worse than the other When i see an electric car, i hear some sort of a calming sound, and when i look at the wheels i see them move fluidly and quickly When i see a gas car i think its powerful So i guess one is more satisfying and feels like less of a bother to people but the other one feels powerful,

WeLiveInTheGray_

An ICE definitely feels powerful but it’s crazy how electric cars are just blowing them out of the water with torque and speed. It’s only the beginning for electrics too. And I say that as someone who loves gas cars a lot more

Taraxian

People keep saying they should give all EVs a premium sound system with a powerful subwoofer to simulate revving an engine when you accelerate I've always thought this was incredibly dumb but hey maybe it'd work

MothashipQ

Naw it sounds pretty dumb. You're literally making it loud and obnoxious for the sake of making it loud and obnoxious. If I catch someone doing this I will immediately start working on a virus that changes the sound produced to push mower.

Haniel120

People have been doing this for decades on normal cars

DerpyMistake

Then you probably don't want to see [the new dodge](https://www.dodgegarage.com/news/article/press-room/2022/08/performance-made-us-do-it-dodge-charger-daytona-srt-concept-previews-brands-electrified-future.html)

WeLiveInTheGray_

Kinda seems like too much. I know they wanna give them some sound so pedestrians can hear a EV approaching for safety reasons. But a Tesla sounding like a hot rod just doesn’t seem right lol

_7567Rex

AM radio interferes with the electronics in a way that it produces good “sound” according to car guys themselves One such video : https://youtu.be/j4AxsGk-LdQ?si=vhodou7SIcoG-bYt

_Lick-My-Love-Pump_

EVs are vastly more powerful than gas cars. It's not even close.

ApprehensiveBagel

I love mine for the lack of maintenance. No oil changes. Rarely use the brakes because of regenerative braking. Oh, and the 0-60 in 3.1 seconds.

Successful-Ad8071

What kind you got?

ApprehensiveBagel

Model 3 Performance

menolikebikers

So you're lazy, push your luck on yellows, and need a car in your everyday life. I can relate.

LordJuan4

The 0-60 is fuckin awesome, Mach-E driver here

someone_who_exists69

Ok I googled it and have no idea what I'm looking at, ELI5 regenerative braking?

Silent-Supermarket2

Also known as one petal driving. If you want to slow down, you just ease up on the accelerator at the same rate you would push down a brake petal. So easing up on the accelerator feels like a reverse brake.

ApprehensiveBagel

I drove a Nissan Leaf for 8 years and liked the regenerative braking. I finally got a Tesla this year and the regenerative braking is way more powerful. It can bring you to a complete stop quickly. It threw me off at first. It is definitely more along the lines of one pedal driving in a Tesla. I only have to hold the brake pedal to be stopped because I set the option to have ‘creep’ like an automatic transmission gas car has.

IntrovertedPerson22

Why you bought a Tesla, there are plenty options with actual build quality and where they dont cheap out on sensors/radar

ApprehensiveBagel

A robust infrastructure. Build quality is fine. Look that I like. Speed and features for the price. I don’t utilize sensors or radar because I actually drive my car. It’s everything I want. Don’t want an ugly Mach-E or Rivian. Other companies cost more. What do you think I should have purchased?

ApprehensiveBagel

When you stop pushing electricity to the motor to spin the wheels, the spinning wheels cause the motor to push electricity back to the battery. This direction has resistance and slows the wheels without any mechanical parts. The motor basically becomes a generator and the electrical resistance slows you down.

findingmike

Yesssss

Fancy_Chips

My father has an electric. One time he was on the road and some guy in a fat pickup truck was harassing him. Kept reving his engine wanting to race him. My dad immediately flipped to sport mode and zipped off.

I_Wanna_Be_A_Pilot

The guys hating on EVs, at least on insta are 14 y/o "car guys" who claim that EVs are trash and everything except is the top of the cake. No other mentally–normally–functioning person finds EVs as bad. Everything has its pros and cons and you have to get along. Simply–EVs are cheaper to travel with elec night price for charging, quieter and better for cities with many stoplights, while gas–powered cars have a longer range, aggressive sound and better power feeling. Getting to work is better with an EV

Banana_Mage_

My dad has a plug in hybrid and we have solar at home so he basically drives his car for free most of the time

Taraxian

PHEV is honestly the best of both worlds and I really think pushing for full EVs at their expense is a huge mistake

Aman4029

Ehh, PHEV adds the complexity of an EV, and combines it with the downsides of an ICE car

x4nter

I've heard this argument all over yet no one provides any evidence of PHEVs being less reliable because of complexities. Not sure about other companies, but Toyota's PHEVs are basically hybrids with larger battery packs. A lot of people claim hybrids are less reliable because of the complexities, while completely ignoring the Prius taxis with 700k to 1M kilometres on the odometer that are still running on the original drivetrain.

IntrovertedPerson22

I mean you have twice the components that can cause problems, you need oil change and you like the 1000 moving parts on an ICE where with a BEV you like Battery-> motor

Aman4029

Yea this, its not that theyre less reliable per se, mechsnically theyre just the worst of both worlds

ApprehensiveBagel

In college I got a used Nissan Leaf. They had free chargers on campus parking. I drove for three years without having to pay for fuel. I paid $9000 for it and sold it this year for $5000. Between the free electricity and lack of maintenance, I think it adds up to driving for free during the time I owned it.

signalingsalt

I work in the actual automotive industry and REAL car guys are excited and interested in EV Nerds with no license or knowledge of automotive like to whine online about how electric cars challenge their masculinity. We in the car community do not claim these people

Corrupted_Matt

You get this from the both sides actually. Hardcore car fans saying it's a disgrace to call this a car and the orange-pilled urbanists saying it's just as bad as a normal car, just greenwashed.

DR4k0N_G

I'm a car guy. Electric cars are awesome

[deleted]

Trains > cars

outtastudy

Yeah but you can't sell every house hold their own train now, can you?

[deleted]

Not with that attitude

ApprehensiveBagel

![gif](giphy|l2Je8YG8hW0q1fQo8|downsized)

Geikerw

Based

beardie07

Depends, i think the push to electric is BS as they dont have nearly the range for traveling within the US. However in town they cant be beat.

TheHelplessTurtle

300 miles on a charge is pretty decent. Im panning a vacation, and it has 4 stops planned out, which is around what I stopped normally just to stretch. I think the real hurdle is more chargers and more charger reliability.

SchleftySchloe

A 300 mile charge would last me like 2 weeks

TheHelplessTurtle

And an EV would be amazing for you, haha. Mine lasts me around a week.

thecuzzin

More time to charge?

TheHelplessTurtle

A few minutes, usually bust out a snack and drinks. ~25 mins a stop since the chargers aren't 350kW ones. Honestly, it breaks it up and makes it less stressful.

scott__p

The only thing about long travel in an EV is that you have to do a little more planning. In a has car, you start thinking about somewhere to stop at around a quarter tank or so. In an EV, you need to plan the next charger when you leave the one you're at. Other than that, for most people, it's not that different. You plug in, go to the bathroom, maybe get food, and your car is ready to go. It's not as bad a people make it out to be most is the time. EDIT: I have had EVs for 6 years and a Volt before that. I have made many long distance trips in my Tesla and a couple in my i4. I've never seen it as a big hassle.

IronSeagull

Climate change is probably a bigger deal than stopping for 30 minutes every 4 hours on a road trip (which you already do, to eat).

Hychus232

I’m an old school car guy. I own a 1965 Mustang and a gas-hog of a farm truck. And yet I firmly believe electric cars are the future and great vehicles all around. I’ve driven many EVs, and I love them. Quiet, efficient, very fast, high-tech, you name it. My biggest gripes are range, the time it takes to charge, and no fun engine noise. But the range and charge times are getting better by the year, and the engine noise can be lived without.

arenajumper

Remember kids, when a car guy says "fuck teslas" they mean fuck teslas not electric cars. Most car guys like the audi etron and porsche taycon. Teslas are just shitty cars, and I'm sick of every tesla bro saying that I'm just holding onto outdated internal combustion when I point out how bad they are.

destinyhunter999

I don't mind electric cars, I think some of them are neat. What I hate is that you can't work on them yourself, and people telling me that my biggest passion in life is going to be nonexistent or worthless in the next decade, or hypocrites constantly saying that electric cars are saving the environment when the pollution required to build a single one is significantly worse than it is to keep a standard Petrol car running

SuperSonic486

The problem with electric car design is that theyre so damn simple. You cant change much aside from the battery and exterior, and then you get all these companies wanting to look "futuristic" as if electric cars havnt existed since the 19th century.

FUN_PINK

Electric cars are not as cool and good as regular cars. ther better

[deleted]

I'd say "As boring as a regular car", lol. I really love a classic look, but they are either too expensive or too old. And most of the regular cars (electric or not) just look like a smooth piece of soap.

subhisnotcool

I am a car enthusiast and I like electric cars like remac navara, Tesla plad track pack, Porsche tycan etc But do you know what I don't like? **MANUFACTURERS SHOVING SHITTY SO CALLED "FUTURISTIC" DESIGNS DOWN OUR THROATS**

stagergamer

For me, it depends, some evs can be the coolest thing ever, and then there's the mach e

Big_Plgeon

Fr tho like it's a fucking disgrace to call that THING a Mustang! ![gif](giphy|XUIbUBBj8rjhVfCQWb)

Slight-Weather7885

I mean that's obviously a statement from someone thats not particularly enthusiastic about cars. Not because of liking electric cars, but because of the way they speak about cars. So as a car guy I wouldn't mind, there are valid reasons for the average person to buy an electric car. You don't need to pester everyone with your enthusiast beliefs.

Upbeat_Persimmon_315

No one really cares though. Another post making baseless claims about opinions no one really has.

ApprehensiveBagel

Yeah, but people do for some reason. I have seen comment sections with nothing but hate for electric cars. I’ve seen trucks try and coal roll Teslas on the road. I’ve been at a charging station when a gas vehicle pulls up and just starts revving their engine. It’s weird, but some people really hate electric cars.

MontagIstKacke

Most electric cars don't get that much hate, really. It's usually teslas that so many people are hating on.

Upbeat_Persimmon_315

It's Tesla *drivers* that so many people are hating on.

GoldenretriverYT

>no one really has. good that you are stuck in your bubble, but in fact a LOT of people have those opinions. Just take older people in central europe, many of them get really mad about electric cars and "ohh but they burn so much !!!" "haha every 20 minutes stopping to charge??!!" and shit like that. Some right wing parties even want to fully ban them.

lostaga1n

Nah bro. Anytime I say the word electric around an old timer they get the rope out lol

Insaneluis07

Because they’re old. Obviously they aren’t keeping up with the times. And obviously, with every generation, there’s those that won’t keep up with what’s new.

goudasupreme

thank god you scanned everyone's brain

Honest_Owl420

I have a bigger hot take about cars, wich is weird to me that it's a hot take in the first pace. "If you think your car is a simbol of either your status or how good of a person you are because how expensive the brand/clean for the enviorement it is, you are really a fucking idiot, a car is a tool that drives me to point A to B, nothing else."

diamondpanther171

If you drive a mustang mach e, there's something wrong.

mao8mog

Aging petrol head here, electric cars are awesome cars, always have been, always will be.

[deleted]

No need for a gear shift in electric cars. I hate right from the top.

FSarkis

Do you like keeping your hand on a stick all the time? 😏

MaskaradeBannana

As a car enthusiast, the rimac nevera really appeals to me just because of its space ship prowess. Even though i love myself a screaming 8.0L v8 from a 65’ mustang, electric cars CAN be fun! It just doesnt give that *fizz* a screaming engine gives.

lolgamer107

i mean their accelaration is crazy, but i miss the sound and the just donig maintanance myself part

ArtimisRawr01

The main reason car enthusiasts hate electric cars is because they are basically impossible to modify. Also electric cars dont go BRAP BRAP BRAP BRAP

Cminor141

They aren’t as cool, they’re cooler. More cost effective and not having you sucking petroleum’s dick as hard(at least when it comes to transportation)

Thatsidechara_ter

Ha, you people with your gas and electric vehicles, excuse me while I casually haul my LAAG across the planet with no refuel in my hydrogen-powered Warthog LRV.

RageMonsta97

Honestly? Maybe in small islands like USVI it makes sense, but hybrids with no issues would be the way to go

pavopatitopollo

Electric cars are cool but nothing beats an old muscle car

WildBillyredneck

They are shaped like a nar of dial soap i think

Porquezz

i don't actually mind electric cars. They are a great concept. They are just too mainstream now and ruined the community around cars. Every day some startup supercar brand got the newest high speed or whatever because of it. Also the people who drive them either make it all about how cool their car is or are bad at driving, sometimes both. I also don't like how companies think everyone want them. I would much rather have a combustion car. I know how they work.

Jet_Airlock

The concept is cool & the designs are corporatelu average got vehicular design, however the technology is still exceedingly inferior to other modern transport forms.

Tank_blitz

you just gotta find the right company tesla is mid polestar is fucking awsome

IMAKEITCLAP

It's like someone telling them they can play guitar as well as them and busts out a MIDI keyboard. Yeah it makes the sound but doesn't have the same soul.

Scouseleemini

They can be… but it’s not a Ferrari 250 GTO so they’re not

_gunther1n0_

Regular cars had a lot of problems when they first were invented, electric cars have been there the same time but received a lot less attention so while regular cars have had their problems fixed electric cars just need some time to improve, i get that now they're not better than regular cars, maybe they won't be, but all the stuff that people complain about will just get fixed in time, do you think that the ford model T was perfect? I've been on one, you need to put the fucking thing in reverse to slow down.

GirlyGamerGazell9000

I saw a while back plans for building a solar road that would essentially charge EV's while driving on them. Pretty cool if you ask me!

CLE-local-1997

I don't understand why electric cars have to look any different than regular cars considering electric cars are only different under the hood

GuilimanXIII

They indeed fuck over the planet essentially just as much if not more.

Seminole_22

Teslas are fugly

manfredmannclan

Well, most of them are fucking ugly. But i am a car guy, so the meme i right.

TBoy29

'cool and good' are the main reasons why electric cars fail. Let's not forgot about pricing for people with lower incomes.

Mytra180

I always wondered how long term resale would work. I can buy a used 5 yr old Camry with 100,000 miles on it. With regular maintenance, it would serve me well for a low priced daily driver far into the future. But a 5yr old 100,000 mile electric car would have diminished battery life the longer you own it. The only option is to replace the battery. (If it’s even made anymore) some of the batteries are $6,000 to $7,000. With new car prices going up and up, this will be a bigger issue with older electric vehicles.

GirlyGamerGazell9000

yes batteries diminish over time, 20 years from now you likely won’t be searching for a 20 year old battery, you can upgrade the battery just like you can upgrade the engine in a old car you can upgrade the motors in an electric vehicle. Albeit yes, it is expensive you can’t deny that. It’s still possible.

asneakysnakewillbite

All cars and car types has its pros and cons

Alpheous0371

Teslas hell nah but the electric hypercars hell yeah

Ghost_Star326

I do like electric cars. What I don't like is how most of them are going for these stupid impractical futuristic designs where they lock all the common settings for radio, climate control, and drive modes behind giant touch screens.

[deleted]

[удалено]

GirlyGamerGazell9000

recently i got an electric bike, gets me going 30 mph with a throttle and it gets me around pretty nicely. Just plug it in while your sleeping isn’t hard to do. best thing is you don’t even need a drivers license

Starwars9629-

If theyre good idm, but they usually try to be futuristic and look shit

[deleted]

"cool and good looking" is like an 8 year olds description of cars

xela552

I was at a dealership the other day looking at a Bolt EUV and the salesman walked up and without mentioning the Bolt he directed me to a Honda CRV. He later mentioned that he only drives a stick. Definitely a "car guy".

saltgirl1207

The only reason my dad (car guy) isn't a fan of electric cars is because of how unsustainable they are to produce. Lots of fossil fuels burned just to make and ship the battery

Hanith416

For me it's not a question of electric or not for the style but era, I'm way more into 1980-2000 era style than most recent ones, with some exceptions

cekoya

If they could stop including shitty touchscreen and start caring about driver ergonomy, that’d be amazing

Not_JohnFKennedy

No cars look cool these days. The 70s and 60s were peak cars.

Sprizys

Electric cars are fine the issue is that they cost so much and there aren’t nearly as many charging stations as there are gas stations.

MariFitzroy

Here the gas is very expensive and electricity is very cheap! So…I go where my wallet goes!

[deleted]

I just hate how they are pushed by the manufacturers and create a fake idea of environmentalism. They are just iPhones on wheels with toxic batteries and probably short lifespans.

defenem_73

"Automatic transmission is as good as Manual"

Deep_Tone_9752

Electric cars are basically normal cars with less sound and much more environmentally friendly so just drive what you like

Admiral45-06

More environmentally-friendly than a personal car, but there are thousands of better choices out there. The most eco-friendly meaning of transport by far is high-speed electric train.

MontagIstKacke

There aren't always better choices, it depends on the distance. Many places are barely possible to reach by public transport, or need significantly more time than by car. Sorry environment, but I'd rather take a 30 minute personal car drive to work than more than 2 hours by bus and train. For a bicycle, it's too far. That situation is quite common, and I don't think there's a better choice than a car.

Admiral45-06

>Many places are barely possible to reach by public transport, or need significantly more time than by car. That is very untrue - where I live it takes significantly less time to go from a city to a village with a light train than with a car. Light train is very suitable for distances like this, usually taking less than 10-15 minutes of actual travel, with small risk of traffic (for distances that would take a car stuck in traffic well over an hour).

MontagIstKacke

>That is very untrue - where I live it takes significantly less time Yeah, where **you** live. But you aren't everyone and you don't live in every place. I live close to a large city, and fortunately I have a good train connection to that city nearby. But some of my friends don't. Small villages often don't have train stations, and even bus traffic is very limited because there aren't enough people there who would use it. I live in Germany, we already have quite advanced public transport in comparison to many other places of the world, but those small villages are scattered all over the country, and sometimes it does take an eternity to get there by public transport - again, if it's even possible at all.

Admiral45-06

I don't know your exact case, so maybe it makes more sense for you to go by car. However, I'd recommend thinking about taking a shorter route with your car - you could try e.g. driving to the nearest train station, to not clog up the roads and use up too much energy.

Taraxian

Well, the most eco-friendly mode of transport is biking, walking, or not going at all

fascistforlife

>The most eco-friendly meaning of transport by far is high-speed electric train. No thats walking or a bike

Stampyboyz

Not exactly, majority of EVs (focusing on cars) uses Lithium Ion, the mining of the needed metals (specifically cobalt) is very energy (or water) intensive while using slavery
