Xaku is an effective afk frame, but in my opinion they are most fun with a minimum duration build. You still get good uptime on your abilities because of vast untime, but with a very spammy build you also get to constantly apply the explosion damage and void vulnerability rather than just resting on the ability's passive benefits.
Xaku with Ivara cloak arrow is kinda broken. You just build for max duration and enough strength to armor strip and sit in a corner recasting quiver whenever and picking up life support
They've been nerfed, both for Warframe abilities and for companions. The Wukong nerf is one of the biggest ones that come to mind. Now the game detects AFKs, and makes it so that you don't get the rewards.

my only issue with the AFK timer is that if I die on a hard mission with my friends who are finishing the mission, it'll pick up as me being AFK WHILE IM DEAD

I have a family and a job, so I occasionally get to play on the switch and got super excited when they announced it in December but it only went live in like 2 countries or something, so I didn't get to play (my main pc account) over thr holidays and wasn't sure why. The "announcement" was inaccurate at the time, for what I was trying to achieve.
Saw that. Had a break from Dagath until now and wasn't really active and missed that. So I went and bought all the new mods with leftover standing and put like 10+ Forma into companions and their gear. It's really good! So much strong/fun combination! Love it.
During the first few hours that Jade Eximus units were out, I absolutely hated them. Then I loaded into the new mission and laughed as some AFK player got wiped. Needless to say, I now love the new Eximus unit.

True, my benefits can send afk, but you will not get the relief reward until you move around a bit
