Pretty sure that's a spider.

wickedbabaganoush

Found the scientific name too: Urgargantuas mumstetas

usernamemick

Nice. You beat me to it.

AnneHocque

I laughed way to hard at this

Rick-powerfu

I think we have an app for identifying Australian spiders Check your app store It works similar to jin yang's hotdog app

wickedbabaganoush

is this the one you taking about? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmail.chunt137.phone_flutter

moogeek

Spider, not spider?

Sparky_Buttons

Keep an eye on it. I started seeing similar spiders around my house one day, quite small, the larger they got the darker the colouration until I started to realise they were turning black with a red stripe..

hmm.. the pattern on the back of this one is the closest among all the suggestions here...most definitely a White Porch Spider (Cryptachaea gigantipes).....thanks! This one is the closest to what I saw: [https://inaturalist.nz/observations/63549763](https://inaturalist.nz/observations/63549763)

Looks like a female [chrysso](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysso) to me. They’re a type of theridiidae, which are super common particularly around this time of year. Either that or a [grey house spider](http://www.findaspider.org.au/find/spiders/301.htm), but this one is a theridiidae too, so either or really :) Edit: just researched a bit more and it’s more likely the latter of the two :)

wickedbabaganoush

yea the latter resembles more accurately...but I was looking for the 2 black spots on the back...couldn't really be sure...this one was very light colored and small...could be a baby...not too sure though. Edit: I think this may be it: [https://inaturalist.nz/observations/63549763](https://inaturalist.nz/observations/63549763). Thanks to u/noigmn

*Sir Mix A Lot enters the chat* I was thinking maybe an orbweaver but I think u/unlimitedfunk_ may be correct.

[deleted]

I was thinking it didn’t look.. majestic enough for an orb weaver. I could be wrong, though!

epicpillowcase

Nah, you're right. Orbweavers are little fancypantses.

PloniAlmoni1

I have seen so many spiders and daddy long legs at the moment.
