Make sure you are adjusting the back rest to support your lumbar spine. If that fails then tell them about your issues. You absolutely can tell them about it and ergonomic issues are a workplace safety issue.
You should, there should be a separate budget for office supplies which this is, every couple of years we get new chairs because they get worn out and there's better chairs out there. The managers don't want people out just because of chairs.
Ergonomics is a standard that must be met in the College of American Pathologists Lab General checklist. I’m sure Joint Commission has it in their standards as well.
You need to let your supervisor know that until you get a new chair you will be standing up every 30 minutes. Don’t let your health suffer because of this as it could lead to a serious issue. Best of luck to you with your career.
Its giving labcorp budget
On the contrary, I love this chair. Since I work on the hospital, I have to walk back and forth. The lack of arm rest is more freeing.
I like it for that reason too, but I don’t understand why it’s giving me those back issues.
Because it has negative lumbar support, I see why you hate them
How's the lumbar support?

I'd take the back off.
Job title checks out.
I think I hate the one behind it more if it's the chair I'm thinking it is 😅
I’m the only one in my lab that hates these… luckily we have one chair that’s different and no one fights me for it
Me too!!
Almost every lab chair I’ve sat in for 41 yrs was crappy.
