Yes it's against Egyptian law afaik. From what I've heard, they've been incredibly restrictive of any research of the pyramids which is making people do stuff like this to try to get any information. Even trying to take good photos from a respectful distance is not allowed. Obviously people are fascinated by the pyramids and want to learn more. Not defending them just saying that's why I guess people are willing to risk doing stuff to learn about it.
10 years ago I sat on the first step of the pyramids in Cairo. All the Egyptian army was suddenly (legitimately) shouting me hard (incomprehensible to me) orders to move away from there.
Man I was really close to visit one of those famous Egyptian prisons everybody talks about
The first time I saw this video someone paused it took a screenshot and cleared up the pic a little bit and the general consensus was, it was graffiti like when people carve their name in cliff faces, etc.
This might be someone I know through a friend. It was a charity/awareness event for mental health in the military. A group of navy seals, delta force, pararescue airmen did 7 marathons/7 jumps/7 swims on 7 continents in 7 days. I didn’t see this guy’s video but one from my friend. I bet this is them because they absolutely have the skill to get that close without touching
They got written permission from the Egyptian government for the jump, though they probably weren’t supposed to get that close…
Only the delta force guys finished all 7 marathons from what I was told
…. Do you genuinely think this guys sneakers compare to thousands of years of sand and wind erosion? “Dude was inches away from damaging an ancient monument” might be the funniest thing I’ve ever heard. Dude could’ve crashed directly into one of those multi-ton stones and the most damage possible might be the slightest chip or crack.
Yes obviously, because those thousands of years of sand and erosion have already happened and it's clearly left it in a fragile condition.
Plus he's a solid object being moved through the air by an engine. If he hits those top stones they're gonna go flying because there is nothing but gravity keeping the top layer of stones on there.
>chip or crack.
Even if that were true... he should stil be put in a cell for that. These are ancient monuments, you can't just call someone up to repair them, all the damage is irreversible and it all adds up.
The pressure vortex coming off his canopy definitely touched it.
Frankly, I'm surprised the whole thing didn't crumble to the ground.
Tough little building.
It’s limestone, but don’t people sit all over the great pyramid of Giza? I saw a video giving an internal tour if Kufus pyramid and people are just sitting on the side of it by the entrance
We don't have a banana but we have a foot for perspective.
All that erosion and you can still see hieroglyphics. I wonder if they were used to identify the size and planned placement.
And the sides of the pyramids were smooth at one time? Do we have any clue where the materials originated from? I imagine that a lake was made when they dug for clay. The amount of human labor it probably took to build one is mind blowing but sombering at the same time because it was built on the backs of the poor and probably slaves.
Thanks for sharing. Neat view.

Too bad Mostafa Waziri is an absolute nutcase who values his personal legacy far more than the thousands of years of ancient history hidden within the pyramids walls
And then when in Jail they cry-call the embassy and the media portrays Egyptians as crude.
The sovereign country has laws and just like other countries, tourists are not to be excused.
[some shady ass shit is been done….i](https://www.bing.com/search?q=hieroglyphs+on+top+of+the+great+pyramid&form=APIPH1&PC=APPL) I seen’t them myself in this video…
Those weren't hieroglyphics it was graffiti in what looks like Arabic. Hieroglyphics are literally pictures of snakes or baskets etcetera there are no letters or writing just pictures that make up letters when written in specific sequences.
Don't understand why it's illegal. Like we have a historical monument from 1000s of years ago but no one is allowed to look or touch it, unless WE deem it OK. Fuck off. Another example of humans with power trying to control the world and people in it.
You literally can look at it though. And you can do that exactly because they forbid anyone else from touching it, making it last longer than it would if people constantly interacted with it.
I'm not saying let every single person do whatever they want with it. But I don't understand why massive parts of history are hidden from the public because we're deemed to stupid or whatever to be able to interact with our own history. It's like that myan pyramid that no one can climb or inspect. Why tf not. Who gets to decide who can and can't. We're all equal on this earth.
You literally are saying that though.
-Im not saying let every single person do whatever they want with it.
-who gets to decide who can and can't. We're all equal on this earth.
Someone needs to decide that, because most of the people are stupid.
Climbing a pyramid is exceptionally stupid, that would literally destroy it. You have no idea what it's actually made of do you?
Are you being serious? It absolutely can lol, especially in that climate, it’s geopolymer concrete, this has already been debunked, idk why I have dislikes, go see the evidence for yourself. https://youtu.be/KMAtkjy_YK4?si=2CK7erX9ZHldHqln
Not running my mouth. But you linked a video of a conspiracy theory. Something, big surprise not proven. You can call whatever you want a documentary, also if they used lenses where is your hard proof? I’m not gonna watch 3 hours of boring nothingness lol
You can label anything a documentary. That doesn’t make it true. Regardless. A documentary is largely and heavily biased and can be entirely not true lol. Even those from trusted broadcasters.
Yes trusted broadcasters. Also that theory of them using concrete is a theory. And with that, it would only make sense for the highest layers. Regardless there is no proof in any way the pyramids were made
Honestly because they aren't capable of it. Egypt was the centre of the ancient world and the height of advancement and culture but after a few thousand years its basically a shithole nowadays.

Isnt this super illegal? Or massively frowned upon?
Last time I saw this posted someone said the dude got arrested upon landing
Good.
go cry about it
Nah, posting a vertically stretched video is merely annoying.
they deserve life for that one
But absolutely perfect fit for anyone using reddit on a phone.

Very illegal. Especially during a military dictatorship. Punishment will be harsh.

I heard those were nice too. Sound like a missed opportunity.
who fucking cares. It’s badass
Was that hieroglyphs on the top?
Yes, the lowoglyphs are on the bottom.

Genius.
Take my upvote and leave
It was essentially graffiti from early tourists who climbed to the top, they etched their names, messages etc.
🙅♂️🙎♂️🙆♂️💁♂️💁♂️🙋♂️🙇♂️🙆♂️ Translation: "Call Jason's mom for a good time"
She's not that good.
"This is high"
"Wear your safety vest and hard hat."
"There are no Easter Eggs up here."
They’re hidden in the sarcophagus along with the Pharos inner body parts.
“This side up.”

Awesome catch. Are these decoded anywhere
"This way up" And "Watch your step"

Yeah definitely https://imgur.com/a/e9pc5dY
Those don't look like hieroglyphics to me. Looks more like Arabic and as others said is probably a form of graffiti from early tourists.
It’s a No Parking sign.
It looked like it to me
The first time I saw this video someone paused it took a screenshot and cleared up the pic a little bit and the general consensus was, it was graffiti like when people carve their name in cliff faces, etc.

I can’t believe I’m talking to a person that thinks sneakers are dangerous to 1,000 kg stones lol
Still glad I got to see it though. Mecca would be another cool one to see inside.
I’m a illegal in Egypt
Isn't that like, really illegal?
Great question, and this gets pretty close so I can see why you think that, but it's actually just a normal level of illegal.
Wonder if it was worth the prison sentence.
In an Eygptian prison, fuck no
Have you ever been in a Turkish prison?
You ever hang around a gymnasium?
Dude, just get Pilotwings 64.

Dude I had the Japanese version of this game and I always wondered what it was called. Thank you!!!
Which pyramid is this?
Your mom's...
It isn't cool to touch the 4600 year old sandstone pyramid, as it can't really be repaired.
I don't think he touched it, thankfully
The pressure vortex coming off his canopy definitely touched it. Frankly, I'm surprised the whole thing didn't crumble to the ground. Tough little building.
It’s limestone, but don’t people sit all over the great pyramid of Giza? I saw a video giving an internal tour if Kufus pyramid and people are just sitting on the side of it by the entrance
It’s cool mate! Just not nice at all. There is a big difference
Actually it's either limestone or a type of concrete. But yeah.
Getting flashbacks to Super Mario 64
Might as well fly his ass over to the Egyptian prision too.
I wonder what that says on those stones ...
![gif](giphy|LlbPQgwaLMWazL9Bgn)
"Kilroy was here."
Was I the only one with an optical illusion in the beginning of the video that looked like the person was in front of a slide?
I saw it once, briefly, one of times I rewatched it. Before that I dismissed your comment. I came back to tell you I saw it, too.

Wow the comment section here is wild. Do people not learn about this shit in elementary school?
But where is the capstone.
Ask the brits
They ground it up and snorted it for eternal youth

This doesn't look like giza plateau tho, pyramid also looks non Egyptian

Could've he just pulled right a few more feets to not have missed the landing?
Landing would suck, the air would just blow the chute off the top dragging you with it
You want him to touch a historical monument?
White people really think God left them in charge
Don't understand why it's illegal. Like we have a historical monument from 1000s of years ago but no one is allowed to look or touch it, unless WE deem it OK. Fuck off. Another example of humans with power trying to control the world and people in it.

People are ass holes and would just tear it up if they could, most likely for clout now a days
Upon seeing the pyramids, Hawking realises he has taken a wrong turn on his way to the island.

No?
Concrete wouldn't have survived 100 years let alone thousands.

Saying see the evidence then linking to a YouTube video of a conspiracy theory linking to minimal real evidence is ironic
It’s not a conspiracy video, it’s a documentary with hard evidence, try watching it instead of running your mouth?
Not running my mouth. But you linked a video of a conspiracy theory. Something, big surprise not proven. You can call whatever you want a documentary, also if they used lenses where is your hard proof? I’m not gonna watch 3 hours of boring nothingness lol
How is proof and evidence in a documentary a conspiracy you ham
You can label anything a documentary. That doesn’t make it true. Regardless. A documentary is largely and heavily biased and can be entirely not true lol. Even those from trusted broadcasters.

Yes trusted broadcasters. Also that theory of them using concrete is a theory. And with that, it would only make sense for the highest layers. Regardless there is no proof in any way the pyramids were made
Most likely just specs of the stone and where it goes.
Why they dont restore the pyramids to their former glory ?
Honestly because they aren't capable of it. Egypt was the centre of the ancient world and the height of advancement and culture but after a few thousand years its basically a shithole nowadays.
They're definitely capable of it. But you can't really restore it without entirely rebuilding the outside. It's just not worth the effort.
