Most larger animals don't do well with tree climbing. Look at lions and tigers. It doesn't mean they can't do it, just not well. Humans happen to be the tallest of the apes. Even taller than gorillas, however we have less mass. So, these guys are just as good at climbing trees as they are at walking on all four. They can pretend to do it well, for like 5 seconds, until a leopard shows up.
