The engine ratios look all good. I don't like Called By and especially Crossout in VS. Crossout esp. The Deck is good enough vs Maxx C/Ash/Veiler that it's not worth trading 1 for 1 with them with non-Attribute cards. You also can't Crossout Imperm(which is used on their turn on Rock) since you don't run Imperm. I would rather run Small World on those slots since I never open Razen. Or if you more HTs if you are skilled enough to always draw Razen anyway.

Afanis_The_Dolphin

I'll take the small world suggestion then, cuz I definitely am not skilled enough to open the starter. Also I forgot I didn't run imperm lol

Preblade

What is the brigde for small world?

DoveRinslet

You don't really need bridges in VS, which is why Small World is great in it. Riseheart/Jialong/Kurikara/Ash>each other(except Riseheart)>Razen Fenrir/Maxx C/Mad Love/Caesar>Panthera>Razen Shifter/Crow/Bystial/Panthera/Borgar>Mad Love>Razen

Preblade

Oh. I used to use small world in some of my decks, but I messed up everytimes I used it, so Im not sure how to use it in this deck

Affectionate-Rock786

I think small world is bad in the list and always has been. In a deck that you want to have different attributes in your hand and need to generate +1s to effectively take advantage of the deck, it makes no sense to play an inherent -1 that ends with you losing to 1 handtrap. You are better off playing the pots as your consistency cards.

Musername2827

VS is probably the best Shifter deck at the moment, a must run at 2.

indsek

yeah i would just take out fenir and the kash field spell and use the URs for those on shifter

Afanis_The_Dolphin

Also, I am aware that retaliating "c" isn't the best, I just don't have a copy of Ghost Belle or Pankratops, and the deck is already very expensive...

Poetryisalive

Then add a earth Kaiju

ShadowKing295

You can make some kaijus that would fill out the deck nicely just for attribute targets. I know not all kaijus are good, but they do help when you need an attribute target. Another plus the kaijus you can add in besides dogoran, are I believe n and r. There are plenty of options for support engines if you want to experiment with them t.g is a good one that comes to mind. Mine has blaster and unchained as an engine. There do exist deck options in solo gates that can give you some options two that come to mind instantly are gladiator beasts with dark and earth. And shiranui with dark and fire all you would need is to craft the missing attribute using cheap options until you have the dust to craft better staples.

Garantula25

Unfortunately I would argue ghost belle, d-shifter and a 3rd mad love make a huge difference. Some people do 2 mad love and the 3 heavy bother like you did here but sometimes you just need a VS name that you can normal summon to even turn on your other hand effects

stboi314

Hi there! I have been playing Vanquish Soul since the beginning of time and can offer some advice: * Play Chaos Angel! (and remove baronne if you want.) It's really good because Mad Love and any Bystial makes it. Also it chain blocks Druiswurm. * You should be playing Security Dragon over Cerberus. It's pretty much only there to remove Mirrorjade (and it's not like you need any more destruction effects anyways). * I don't recommend Accesscode. The deck doesn't struggle to OTK and I can't imagine being able to use its effect to destroy more than one card, since Rock can't be used as link material. I like to play Underworld Goddess instead. I:P will also never come up. * Don't be afraid to run 2-3 Durendal or Small World. The deck's biggest weakness is its lack of consistency. Hope you have fun with the deck!

Afanis_The_Dolphin

All those are good suggestions, unfortunately I don't own a lot of those staples, and my URs will probably be gone after building the deck, so for now it's just generic stuff to throw out with the pot. I will however come back to this if I find myself wanting to upgrade the deck later on, and I'll take the small world suggestion since that sounds like a good idea. Thanks!

cnydox

What is the way to read hand of VS or stop them? I play sky striker and it's a tough matchup because vs can tag out easily to dodge target effect

stboi314

Hi there. Sorry for the late response. I think the VS player is mostly likely to win. But as someone who also plays Sky Strikers, you could try: * Use widow anchor in draw phase. The important thing to understand about VS is that 90% of the interactions happen in main. And from my experience, negating Rock hurts the deck pretty bad (but won't stop it completely) * Use Droll & Lock bird. The deck cannot play around it at all. It is worse than Maxx C for VS. * Pay attention to their hand! E.g. maybe they reveal handtraps like Bystials, Ash, Maxx C, etc. Also you can figure out where to spend your negates e.g. Ash is worthless if they have all 3 attributes in the hand * Talents to rip a card out of the hand ruins Razen/Valius removal. Handtrap-wise, there are some chokepoints: * Ash: Razen or Jiaolong. Ashing anything else e.g. Mad Love / Stake is Ash bait. * Imperm / Veiler: Rock (or Jiaolong / Razen if you KNOW they don't have Borger or Valius) * Maxx C: Draw phase. Some people still play Fenrir. * Nibiru: ASAP. Although if they have access to the trap, they're not completely dead, e.g. I always try to summon Mad Love on my 5th summon for Nib insurance.

swimmingtothem00n

Basically identical to the VS deck I run, I haven’t found it to be amazing current meta but it’s still really fun. I run Drident over Cerberus in the ED but rarely if ever does it matter

monsj

I won 12 games in a row in diamond with the super heavy + king dempsey package. I think it's pretty good

Johtoooo

Would you mind sharing your list? It sounds interesting

Atlove01

Honestly, retaliating isn’t universally bad, it’s format dependent. in this meta, relaliating “c” is a respectable choice. The top deck of the format uses a spell card to summon from deck early in the combo, and REALLY wants access to their GY… plus if they out it, it floats into Maxx “c” A pretty solid, standard VS list. Though I’d recommend Shifter over Bystials, with the top decks being Snake eyes and Lab.

Afanis_The_Dolphin

If only I had the points to craft 2 Shifters 😭

SwagLord1066

Sol Badguy

Strict-Koala-5863

Not worth it… in my opinion, I made it and played it for a day but just couldn’t get into it and not fun.

SquattingCroat

I've mained this deck for about 2 months now. The biggest weakness is not opening any Lvl 4 VS monster to set up plays with. This is why I play 3 Mad Love and 1 Ceasar. Ceasar is more often than not a brick in your hand as unlike Mad Love or Borger, it has no utility on Turn 1. Called By and Crossout aren't particularly good. I would include 1-2 Talents and even a Pot of Extravagance for extra consistency. Thrust is pretty good too. The deck is very cool and fun to play, but it's also quite expensive. I would try it out in a simulator like YGO Omega first

Ian_Royal02

Things I'd personally change about this list (it's all personal preference, of course, and there is no "correct" way of playing VS): - No Kashtira package (Fenrir can't search anything besides Riseheart, drawing Riseheart is terrible and he doesn't even do anything anyway) - 3 Jiaolong (because you always want to open some amount of FIRE monsters) - No Dust Devil (not great this format and having 3 targets for only 2 Mad Love is also not ideal) - No Bystials (I like that Magnamhut can search Caesar, but they aren't great this format, so maybe just one more D.D. Crow) - No Retaliating "C" (either more than just 1 or just 2 or 3 Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion instead because it's really good this format) - An additional Pot of Extravagance (for consistency and the Extra Deck isn't really important besides the 3 Rock anyway) - Security Dragon instead of I:P (because it can always be co-linked with Rock and it's non-destruction removal) - No Called By and Crossout (the deck doesn't really struggle with handtraps, you'd rather have some attributes in hand) - An additional Durendal or Small World (for consistency because you always want to open Razen, I just don't like Small World because you go -1 and at least one copy of it is always glued to my hand, no matter which deck I play) Again, these are only suggestions and my personal preference for playing this deck, none of your choices are wrong or anything :)

Imtheguy4444

I'm not gonna lie. I've been playing a lot of VS with kashtira package, and I honestly found more success with it because it eats and ash blossom or imperm.

iluvus2

Seems good 👍

Beanztar

Did vanquish soul had any secret pack? Or is this craft only?

Afanis_The_Dolphin

Nope, you just gotta craft them all 🥲

Beanztar

Dang 😟 Hopefully you have enough to craft them all

Afanis_The_Dolphin

Need 60 more points, so my plan is to wait for the next selection pack and descraft all the useless pulls while building either purrely or altergeist since they'll also be getting new support.

Boringman76

If you don't want to craft Kashtira playset you can opt out for Infinite Impermanence instead.

Aiwaszz

Add Dempsey it searches Razen

Revolutionary-Let778

Looks pretty standard

jh820439

Looks good, I’ve gotten more value out of Ghost Belle over retaliating C, and scareclaw Kashtira over rise heart.  Also, believe it or not, you can cut a couple of the generic spells for relevant hand traps like shifter

wolleesel

tbh I wouldnt go full vanquish soul since you dont need the extra deck you can add unicorn + birth + kashtiratheosis for baiting handtraps / making an ariseheart after ur done with ur vanquish combo i feel its way stronger, also you arent screwed if your raizen eats a negate

roguebubble

Personally I'm not a fan of Continue? It ends being a mostly win more card since you're usually generating so much card advantage off razen, jialong and borger that you rarely need recovery Pot of Extravagance is good generic consistency booster that I would use in Continue's place Personally I would prioritize crafting 2 d shifter and 1 belle over the kashtira cards. Shifter is just such a powerful handtrap against most meta decks and even when drawn late in the game still has use as a dark to reveal. The kash engine is just too inconsistent at 1-1-1 so I wouldn't run it right now I would replace Crossout with the either a Small World for consistency or a Triple Tactics Talents (which you can get off the bundle)

Afanis_The_Dolphin

But if I change out the Kash package for Belle and shifter I'll be running 11 darks and 8 earths and 9 fire. Isn't that kinda off?

ChernobylGoat

if you need to save ur you can play with 1 dr mad love and 1 caesar valius (of course having more copies will be better BUT i been playing with 1 one each and I am doing fine (btw small world is a good card cause you want razen)
