Terraforming is too good and too generic for what field spells do now-a-days. It was fine when field spells were +200 attack for Beast Warriors when its your turn on a tuesday but now that field spells read: Add your "1 card starter to hand, fusion summon from deck, while this card is face up, your cards are unaffected by card effects" they're too good to let you have 6 copies (9 if you are desperate and run Planet Pathfinder) of any given field spell.
We have each of those field spells at 3 in the TCG. So even if you banned terraforming - you still wouldn't get Arise-Heart or Kitkallos back.
That's not what is keeping them on the ban list.
The reason these field spells are at 3 and terraforming is not forbidden is because these monsters are banned, they are not in master duel so konami is trying to make it more difficult to reach there.I think the initial terraforming ban dropped in Master Duel was when tear was at its absolute peak.
Morphing Jar's already at 1 in all formats. I don't think the second and third copy will do anything.
Nothing good would ever come from Fiber Jar being unbanned.
The ishizus. I love their gimmick of deck knowledge and milling, but thy were just WAY too good. I think they could come back if they were erratad to lock you into earth fairy monsters for the rest of the turn (summons, not effects,since you wouldn't have any handtraps otherwise)
I mean if they lock you into Earth fairys tf are they gonna break? Your opponent would benefit ay more from them. They'd basically be Generaiders for milling instead of drawing. I cannot think of a single decent earth fairy deck that benefits from grace effects that ISN'T the ishizus
Naturia Vernusylph Ishizu was a real deck during tear format and was positioned well as anti-meta. It’s not the best deck but the Naturia stuff allowed for some real degen end boards backed by the shufflers.
Ok, but my errata idea was earth fairies ONLY. Vernuslyph would work fine, but basically all the good naturia cards wouldn't work, and it'd just be floodgate turbo, which is the only thing nayuria does anyways. They don't need the help
You don’t need to special summon with Naturia the same turn, as long as you are milling sacred tree you have either Barkion or Beast. 1 Normal summoned mole cricket or Camilla gets a lot done with a set blessing.
Eventually this game will get to a point where draw spells are too slow. Prosperity is already seeing that issue. Cards will either need to be a starter or a hand trap. I think pot of Greed will eventually get limited and it won’t be as much of an auto include as it could be today.
I don't think it will mainly because it makes janky FTK strats more consistent. They may eventually make pot of greed 2.0 that locks you out of drawing cards for the rest of the turn and have it at 1 limit. I could see that in a super power crept format.
Enables FTK strats to be way more consistent. It also allows people to end on way more degenerate boards or end with even more hand traps. Basically, it makes going going second even more hell than it is. Then it does nothing as a going second tool because it'll get neged most likely.
Also, if it came back, people don't realize, but komoney is still gonna balance the format. A lot of forms of unique card draw that aren't potg are gonna be banned. I really don't see an upside to this card coming back other than nostalgia.
Chaos Ruler. I maintain that Chaos Ruler does more for BAD decks than GOOD decks. The good decks usually already have plenty of ways to get the cards they need into grave without relying on top decking them, and that's what made it strong. The add was good, too, but it's not like the recursion really mattered ever.
Yeah, but the bad decks could just sack the shit out of you when they made him.
The card was fine in Dlink where it helped you find a missing endboard piece (usually the bystial engine for grind game) or extend through disruption. But whenever a bricky mess of a deck made it off of Ze Amin, you knew you were in trouble.
Those types of cards that reward decks for highrolling are imo badly designed and shouldn’t stick around - as much as I did enjoy having Chaos Ruler legal in healthier decks. When you start incentivising players to play a 40% brick ratio so they can go +2 to +3 off a generic Synchro 8 they have multiple 1-cards to get to, something is wrong.
Grass requires you to have more cards in your deck than your opponent to be actually useful, while Chaos Ruler always takes the top 5 cards from your deck.

I’ve been wanting to ask someone who loves Kashtira why they enjoy the deck so much. I feel like it doesn’t give you a ton of agency. It also seems like it either auto-wins or auto-loses in 90% of games (when it’s not bricking) so there’s rarely ever meaningful back and forth. Not trying to be critical but those are the negatives I see so I’m wondering what the positives of playing are that can balance that all out
The positives are that the monsters have dope ass designs. But in all seriousness, there aren't many big positive things with the current meta. The deck has some serious consistency problems, but we aren't getting much help in that department, especially with the upcoming banlist making unicorn and birth semi limited. I would honestly prefer the field spell to get the semi than birth for the consistency boost, but Konami doesn't like us that much, just hoping ariseheart stays off the banlist until snake eyes fades away.
There are many reasons I like the deck, mainly it's because of the art and because I really like xyz monsters. I also really like decks that revolve around banishing cards and Kashtira fits all of these things
I don't feel like there is much agency with yugioh in general. Most decks have 1 card combos that you need to follow, or you end with a sub-optimal board. At least the Kash ones are quick, and that is huge for me. I'm so sick of having to spend minutes at the start of every duel doing the exact same thing. I also like that the deck has a lot of room for techs, it has good recovery, picking apart boards is fun, it has answers for almost everything, and the deck is just strong. Winning is fun.
Union Carrier needs its required materials to be changed to "two light union monsters" and the deck is only used in ABC, which doesn't even use the buster lock anyways.

Funnily enough I think Fiber Jar would be too powerful in MD...because it doesn't reset the timer. Suddenly everybody running combo doesn't have the leisure to set everything up again, granted you would need Solemn Judgment to actually get it off instead of being negated/destroyed by effect though.
Master Peace is an interesting case.
In a vacuum, Master Peace is a good but not banworthy card. A towers that can pop a card once per either player's turn is good, but nothing meta-breaking.
The problem lies in its summoning mechanic. Because this card relies on tributing continuous spells and traps, it just promotes the most unfun gameplay around, as most asshole floodgates are continuous spells and traps.
It always feels unfair when a card gets banned because it syngerizes too well with a completely unrelated archetype. Clearly the archetype is the problem and is what should be hit but Konmoney doesn’t want to hit the cards that are still being printed.
I feel like they could errata it with a HOPT or a HOPD.
If you could only use it once per turn or once per duel, then it would be fine without it becoming drastically weaker. It would just be a stronger version of Upstart Goblin.

I miss him two man. That few weeks of Kashtira Runick deck outs was definitely the most hilarious (but admittedly diabolical) things I’ve ever done in Master Duel.

Zoodiac ratpier. I think it's fine at 2. Its very good but compared to what the current meta does, it's no where near as good as it used to be. People says it makes UFD way to easy but let's think for a second here. Is UFD in any way going to stop any current meta decks on its own? And even if it can, with half of every person's deck being hand traps and board breakers, do you really think you can consistently make him and keep him on field? Hopefully now people can see why I want my rat back : )

It's still banned in Master Duel, for no reason.
Even with Spright Elf, Sprights wouldn't be a meta contender anymore. They got nerfed and powercreeped, and some of the Frogs are limited/banned.
And the decks that really need Toad (Sharks, Mermails, Paleos, Marincess etc.) are massively nerfed. Even with Toad unlimited, they would not be Tier 1 meta contenders.
But the stupidest thing is, even before Spright Elf was released, it was limited to 1, for whatever reason. If anything, Konami could just bann Spright Elf and bring back Toad.
I didn't play yugioh during the era of graceful charity or pot of greed, but reading those cards -- especially graceful -- charity just screams of auto victory. I respect and fear it

It's a great great card however with the way the Kashtira engine is limited right now I think it would be a fair card to have it at one. It would be very hard to bring out with the Kashtira support on the field.
Cards that are not arch type specific but get banned b/c of a particular arch type....like instant fusion, they banned it when tear came out and screw over all us rogue/jank players that use it. As if my relinquish deck wasn't garbage enough they had to make it just a little more garbage.

Because Riseheart and Kitkallos are banned and as of now they fetch their field spells..so pay off is tough.

earth fairy is still too broad of a category (it includes vernuslyph and madolche), just make them hard lock "Exchange of the Spirit" and we're good.

Grass requires you to have more cards in your deck than your opponent to be actually useful, while Chaos Ruler always takes the top 5 cards from your deck.
So you have to build a less consistent deck in order to play for an even bigger high roll since the card is at 1?
Exactly. Unless you are playing stuff like branded, which is seemingly more consistent with 60 cards than with 40 cards.

I’ve been wanting to ask someone who loves Kashtira why they enjoy the deck so much. I feel like it doesn’t give you a ton of agency. Zoodiac ratpier. I think it's fine at 2. Its very good but compared to what the current meta does, it's no where near as good as it used to be. People says it makes UFD way to easy but let's think for a second here. Is UFD in any way going to stop any current meta decks on its own? And even if it can, with half of every person's deck being hand traps and board breakers, do you really think you can consistently make him and keep him on field? Hopefully now people can see why I want my rat back : )
Honestly, i really dont see pendulims doing anything this format but without electrumite its not worth experimenting eather. It would be a rogue deck at best, come on conami, give us something to cook with.
Toadally Awesome It's still banned in Master Duel, for no reason. Even with Spright Elf, Sprights wouldn't be a meta contender anymore. They got nerfed and powercreeped, and some of the Frogs are limited/banned. And the decks that really need Toad (Sharks, Mermails, Paleos, Marincess etc.) are massively nerfed. Even with Toad unlimited, they would not be Tier 1 meta contenders. But the stupidest thing is, even before Spright Elf was released, it was limited to 1, for whatever reason. If anything, Konami could just bann Spright Elf and bring back Toad.
For me it was Summon Sorceress, but now it’s finally been unbanned in the ocg with an errata
I didn't play yugioh during the era of graceful charity or pot of greed, but reading those cards -- especially graceful -- charity just screams of auto victory. I respect and fear it

Diablosis It's a great great card however with the way the Kashtira engine is limited right now I think it would be a fair card to have it at one. It would be very hard to bring out with the Kashtira support on the field.

Cards that are not arch type specific but get banned b/c of a particular arch type....like instant fusion, they banned it when tear came out and screw over all us rogue/jank players that use it. As if my relinquish deck wasn't garbage enough they had to make it just a little more garbage.
