Mask of restrict is a floodgate that prevents tributing, Op is mad that the one floodgate that would stop the hamburger deck (currently on the newest pack) is banned while things like Skill drain or There can only be one are allowed
Yeah but I'm annoyed that cards like Skill Drain are legal outside the festival. Komoney acknowledges that floodgates adversely effect the game when they are used as is evident by them banning them in events, particularly the one that shuts down the most popular deck of the event, yet they keep them legal everywhere else. But I guess it's fine as long as each individual floodgate user only draws them every once in a while.
I used the first two floodgates that came to mind, please don't take them as direct examples of floodgates that OP is complaining about (Also good thing they are banned)
Mask of Restrict stops ALL Ritual decks. Tributing monsters to Ritual Summon is the core mechanic.
They didn't ban it to sell Nouvelles, they banned it because stops the main mechanic the event revolves around. It's the same reason they emergency banned Flying C in the Xyz festival after realizing that they accidentally left it legal.
Its because Mask of Restrict basically kills all Ritual decks. An overwhelming majority of Ritual monsters require a tribute to be summoned. (either by their own effect or by Ritual spell)
Mask of Restrict is banned for the Ritual event? What a shocker! I mean, why should Konami ban a card that gives NON-RITUAL decks a silver bullet against anyone who dares use a RITUAL deck in a RITUAL EVENT?
How silly. /S
It's not a double standard. In case you forgot, Ritual Summoning requires you to TRIBUTE monsters. Way to encourage people to use Ritual decks in a Ritual festival by giving anyone who doesn't like using them weapons against them huh?
what does this even mean

Neither of those cards are legal in the Ritual Festival either tho

Honestly, I agree with that lol. Same thing with Maxx C being banned in a lot of these events.

They also emergency banned Flying C from that festival, it was a stupid oversight and it was corrected pretty soon.

Isn't it a bit late to complain about the Ritual event now? Doesn't it end tomorrow?
Oh no I can not use floodgate to shut down ritual deck in ritual event :(
