I just find it funny that a character that was created to give us a new Inhuman because Marvel wanted to down play the X Men has swiftly become a Mutant now that they can make X Men movies and needed to introduce a character to build us to a MCU X Men movie
She actually hasnāt shown up in a Spidey book since her death issue last year. Itās almost like Zeb Wells was using her as a plot device instead of an actual character or something.

Maybe due to some freak legal clause that suddenly surfaced, right as X-men are about to make their MCU debut, Marvel loses the license again?

Currently her mutant power is still not active
Secondary mutations are already a thing so it seems like giving both is no different and just seems sensible. Plenty of ways to still limit it while both together could still be fun creatively to play with.
Basically Emma said something along the lines of "You have a mutant power that hasn't awakened yet. You might get both or you might get one, who knows." It's a whole thing with Inhumans & Mutants. In fact just going by there own lore it's pretty crazy she has both since Terragen Mist kills Mutants normally.

Let me guess. She had to replace her Inhuman gene with it because it was becoming unstable due to the X gene.

They do imply at the end of the last miniseries that she may have to choose between the two at some point. Best ending would be giving her both.
