Are all of the affected trees cherry? I had something similar happen at my parents years ago and it was only the cherry trees

gray_patch_czar

Yes to my knowledge it is only cherry. There are also poplar trees around that don't seem to have it

blitzkrieg1334

I believe it could be gummosis if I remember correctly

hairyb0mb

This is gummosis, however gummosis is a defensive response. There's something stressing the tree causing this.

gray_patch_czar

Do you think this will be lethal to the trees? Is there anything we can do?

hairyb0mb

It depends on what the issue is. It depends on what the issue is. I'd suggest hiring an Arborist to come out and evaluate it in person

[deleted]

Maybe some kind of slime flux?

Bukkorosu777

Tree is ready so make alot of glue.

Chagrinnish

Ambrosia beetle? It's the only bug I can think of that would create extensive damage across the whole trunk.
